Get Google Toolbar Enabled in Any Firefox Versions 14, 15, 16+

In my last post, You got idea how to enable Google Toolbar in Firefox version upto 10. Now, it is approx 9 months later, Firefox has upgraded its versions to 15+. Again Google toolbar become incompatible with Firefox latest version.

I again repeating my view that my aim to help those who want to make Google Toolbar compatible with all the latest Firefox versions released so far. This trick will work for all Firefox versions 5, 10, 15 or any more latest versions.

My tricks are same according to my last post (http://nareshsharmaseo.blogspot.in/2012/01/way-to-enable-google-toolbar-in-firefox.html)

According to my last post follow all that steps and open install.rdf in a text editor like Notepad or Notepad++ (free and open source).

Now you need to change the maxversion. Find this line

<em:maxVersion>4.0.*</em:maxVersion>

and change it to

<em:maxVersion>*.*</em:maxVersion>

Save the file and close the editor.

Restart the Firefox and the Google Toolbar should be back and working with firefox of any version.

Try it and let me know if that worked or not for you.

But now a days Google toolbar is working on firefox. This post helpful for those who already installed Google toolbar but incompatible with latest version. In next post, I will tell how to installed Google toolbar newly, who are unable to install.

The Way To Enable Google Toolbar in Firefox 5 To 10

Firefox 10 is the upcoming version will be release in 2012. It is based on Geeko 10.0 and currently in developer stage. The below guide will also work for Firefox 10.

My aim to help those who want to make Google Toolbar compatible with all the latest Firefox versions released so far i.e. Mozilla Firefox 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10. This trick will work for all Firefox version 5 and + .

Today’s Firefox is the preferred browser for most of the people atleast webmasters as well developer. Since it is a major version upgrade, some of the Addons, Plugins, and Extensions went incompatible such as Google Toolbar.

Google Toolbar is also a most preferred firefo addon/ extension by webmasters. As a webmaster, I also commonly use it for checking page rank, backlinks, actual links and indexed pages. However, since my Firefox updated to version 9.0.1, the Google Toolbar vanished from its position.

After going deeply and searching a lot of solutions over the net. In the last I found solution to make the Google Toolbar compatible with all new Firefox versions after Firefox 5 to Firefox 10. Now my Google toolbar is working properly like before with all the features. Now you can also do it by following steps: -

First, check the current version of Google toolbar. Go to addons of the Firefox. Scroll you page from up to down till Google toolbar shown. Check the version number for Google Toolbar for Firefox. It should be Version 7.1.20110512W, the latest version of Google Toolbar.

Go to your Firefox Profiles. Now question is how to go in profile. Simple

o At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Firefox button, go over to the Help menu (on Windows XP, click on the Help menu) and select Troubleshooting Information. The Troubleshooting Information tab will open.

o Under the Application Basics section, click on Open Containing Folder. A window with your profile files will open.

Type about:support at the Firefox address bar and hit enter.

In Extensions, look for the directory where the Google Toolbar is installed with Id. Mine Id is {3112ca9c-de6d-4884-a869-9855de68056c} and should be also yours.

Click on Open Containing Directory or Just copy and paste AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\w80eyw92.default in C:\Users\...

Click on Extensions folder and then click on {3112ca9c-de6d-4884-a869-9855de68056c} ( this is Google Toolbar Folder).

There should be a file called install.rdf in that folder. Open it in a text editor like Notepad or Notepad++ (free and open source).

Now you need to change the maxversion to 10. Find this line

<em:maxVersion>4.0.*</em:maxVersion>

and change it to

<em:maxVersion>10.*</em:maxVersion>

Save the file and close the editor.

Restart the Firefox and the Google Toolbar should be back and working with firefox 5 or firefox 6 or firefox 7 or firefox 8 or firefox 9 or Firefox 10.

Try it and let me know if that worked or not for you. Also, make sure your addons are set to upgrade automatically so that you get the officially compatible version when Google release the upgrade.

Google announced that AdWords Express will now be available to all UK and Germany advertisers. Google released AdWords Express in late July as a way to help local businesses get more traffic to their websites and Places pages.

AdWords express helps searching customers to find your website or Google Places listing. You provide basic information to Google such as business information, ad text, monthly budget and you're good to go.
After doing the initial setup, Google will manage the campaign for you so you. You don't have to really do anything after that. AdWords will target and figure out which searches your ad should be showing on much like their new Dynamic Search Ads program that they launched last week.

The whole process to set up AdWords Express took me around 5-10 minutes. Depending on how long it takes you to come up with ad text, and if your Google Places account it set up, it could take you a bit longer.
One nice thing about Google Express is it will give you an estimated monthly budget. This is based on local competition, estimated clicks, and how much they think they can get out of you! You will only pay when a person clicks on your ad.

Step by Step Make RSS Feeds

Everyday more and more websites, news services and blogs are adding RSS content. RSS is a method of syndicating content. The concept of aggregating content in one central location or repository is very appealing.

Consumers have become tired of push technology; RSS allows users the flexibility to regain control of their content. RSS feed creators provide content without forcing it on consumers. In fact with RSS consumers are able to choose the content they wish to view.

How to Make an RSS Feed

RSS feeds contain what are referred to as "items". The items are usually connected in some way and contain a common theme or other similarity.

The following feed http://www.notepage.net/feed.xml contains items. The items are all SMS and paging related news articles that would likely benefit someone interested in the wireless market.

Each item contains:

title
description
link

The title and description should be written to describe the content and the link should reference the webpage that contains that actual content.

Like html, the xml file uses open and close tags to designate the title, description and link. Tags are enclosed in brackets <>, like standard html and the close tag contains a forward slash /.

The following is what an item in a xml file looks like:

Now an RSS Feed is a series of items, these items are chained together to create what is called a "Channel".
The Channel appears at the top of the file and tells people how the items relate to each other. Like items channels use title, description and link tags to describe its content. The open channel tag <chanel> occurs before the first item and the close tag </channel> occurs after the last item.

If you create the file using Dreamweaver or a similar tool becareful that it does not strip out tags it feels are redundant. In order to be be an RSS feed your file needs at bare minimum that tags that were discussed above, and the file will not be valid if tags are stripped out.

Validation

As my math teacher use to say, check your work! Once your file is complete and uploaded enter it into the feed validator at http://feedvalidator.org

Syndication / Submission
