Basic SEO Tips

Consider in starting up an online business? But before anything else you should have at least basic SEO knowledge for you to compete in the online world.

This tips are helpful to acquire a better Pagerank!These might be fairly common to the more experienced webmaster but for some who don't have any idea about SEO then consider this as you basic lesson.

1. When creating you website implement unique META titles and descriptions for all of your pages. It is very important that each title and description should be unique to each pages.

2. Insert keywords within the title tag so that search engine robots will know what your page is about. The title tag is located right at the top of your document within the head tags. Inserting a keyword or key phrase will greatly improve your chances of bringing targeted traffic
to your site.

3. Add an HTML sitemap to your site. This is a single page that includes links to the main pages of your websites. If your site is small you may want to include every page while larger sites should just have links to the most important pages. Sitemaps are an import part of SEO optimization because they give the search engines a ‘hub’ where their spiders can find all of your pages through one single page.

4. Describe your images with the use of the alt tag. This will help search engines that index images to find your pages and will also help readers who use text only web browsers.

5. Use underline, bold, strong and italics tags on each pages keywords. This SEO tip is one that has proven to be very valuable. Search Engines give more weight to words that are using these tags. Do not over do it, implementing these tags at least two or three times would cut it.

6. Do not spam the description or keyword meta tag by stuffing meaningless keywords or even spend too much time on this tag. SEO pros all agree that these tags are not as important today as they once were. I just place my headline once within the keywords and description tags.

7. Use H1 and H2 tags with your main and secondary keywords. Most SE’s give a lot of weight to words that are wrapped in these tags. Each page on your web site should have one or two targeted keywords at the beginning of the page. Just add < h1 >keyword< /h1 > to the main keyword and the same for your secondary keyword replacing h1 with h2 and deleting the spaces.

8. Title tags for text links. Insert the title tag within the HTML of your text link to add weight to the link and the page where the link resides. This is like the alt tag for images.

9. Do not link to link-farms or other search engine unfriendly neighborhoods.

10. Submit to the search engines yourself. Do not use a submission service or submission software. Doing so could get your site penalized or even banned.

Keeping your website simple is an important SEO tool as search engine spiders like simple site. They are quite dumb, so the easier it is for them to understand your site, the more traffic they generate for your site for better SEO purposes.

Link Building it is the process of getting other websites to link to your site. This is one of the most important SEO (search engine optimization) strategy you should consider in order to promote your website in the world of search engines. However you don't just link from site to site, you need to have quality backlinks which is one of the more aspects to considered by search engines.

Through this links search engines determines which website is relevant for a particular keyword search, and this is how Pagerank is being computed by search engine algorithms. This page rank, combined with the content of your website and more quality links, will determine your search engine position for particular search queries.

Honestly link building is quite stressful and time-consuming work and that is why some website owners take it for granted but I'm telling you its worth the effort.

I have just created my first SEO blog after working for more than 4 years in SEO Industry. I shall say I've learned a lot over the years from simple to extensive SEO work. For those of you who doesn't know about search engine optimization, it is a practice of optimizing a website by improving internal and external aspects in order to increase the traffic that website receives from search engines.

Most people didn't realize that working in SEO isn't just facing your computer and surfing the internet. As being said, search engine optimization is a "science and an art". Wherein SEO Specialist consider themselves to be in the broad field of website optimization since so many elements intertwine.

I'll be discussing more SEO tips in my later posts for you to understand the whole SEO Stuff so better keep posted!
