What’s in it for us though? As SEO practitioners, maybe minus 1 search engine to consider. Optimization would now be for 2 big search engines, Google and MicroHoo (whatever they may call it).

For PPC managers though, it poses some questions. Would be AdCenter or Marketing Solutions? What will happen to the PPC campaigns on both Yahoo and Microsoft? Will there be an increase or decrease in CPC, impressions, CTR? What will be the rules? Will there be new ones?

Everything seems to be a wait and see.
Hundreds of clicks from websites without a single conversion. And since Yahoo’s reporting is not as robust as Google’s, I have got no choice but to shut down my Yahoo Content Network ads for the meantime, until I get things cleared. Whew!

PPC bidding on the Google Content Network needs more attention than bidding on their Search Network. With search you don’t have to monitor it as much as you have to with the content network. Just this past few days, my CPA was up by 10% while conversion rate dropped by 5%. The source of the problem? The number of non-converting clicks was up by 50%. These clicks came from 100% CTR websites in Google’s Content Network. So, exclude, exclude, exclude. Now my CTR and CPA is back to normal.
