Sepia Art Theater now unshuttered!

Yes, Sepia Art Theater has been shuttered and quiet during our annual Holiday Hiatus but here you see that a new art portrait that was delivered to the side door and intended for the lobby where we like to display artwork whenever we can.

Now this rather large example in sepia tones is called, Cosmic Persona in Flux, and is on loan from my Cosmic Persona Designs collection of drawings and illustrations of fanciful figure studies, Chiffonery and Sexy-Fun Art...and mask-related Art as well.

If you dare, click through Blogger's 'Adult Content' message for a browse (if you're 17+) but don't fret overmuch since it's only Art, no photos involved. Ever. Tandy's yummy Homemade Fudge Recipe!

'Tis the Season, All! And since Sepia Art Theater is known for its Art, Drama, & Chocolates, a delicious Homemade Fudge Recipe was destined to appear so near the Holidays for you to click on, whisk up, gift, and enjoy!

Now if you've never made fudge, stirring up a batch is well worth the effort for the chocolate lovers on your gift list will be smitten with you forever after...

Another appearance, and one that is considerably more mysterious than how much homemade fudge Uncle Stanley can pack away in one hour, is a cameo by Tandy, whose newly drawn portrait may turn up in a new location which you'll soon be hearing about if all goes as planned for the New Year.

It concerns Science's desire and plan, however misguided the scientific elite may be, to clone from DNA a woolly mammoth, hairy relic from the Ice Age. How such a massive and surely disoriented-at-first monstrosity could manage on this our warming planet is quite uncertain to me. He most certainly would feel a bit woozy when 'waking' in the lab, don't you agree?

Anyway, my Odes to a Woolly Mammoth may be just your cuppa tea during an idle moment, who knows? You're not against words that rhyme and purport to express personal misgivings over dangerous scientific enterprises, are you?

In my estimation, egghead elites have the same old motivations as many other folk do: money, power, and ego. They are so very tiresome, the elite who monkey with our lives.

Interesting Factoid from my new blog about woolly mammoth cloning: the first-ever animal to be cloned was a tadpole in 1952. So geneticists have been slaving away on the cloning process for at least 58 years, as you see. Long enough to grow into frogs which is more of a chance than they gave poor little Taddie.

Sepia Art Theater has A Large Disappointed Audience?

Oh dear oh dear, say it isn't so...is there A Large Disappointed Audience grumping round Sepia Art Theater? Mais oui!

Actually this drawing was perpetrated to fancifully illustrate the Sabian Symbol for '28 Aries' which is explained by Dr. Marc Edmund Jones as "the call to a selfhood which can rest secure in its own creative potentiality...", something this artist attempts to do all the time with spotty results, to be sure.

Plus these days, resting 'secure' is not as simple as it once was in calmer times!

Now you may wish to view the original full color version of this drawing replete with Sabian Symbol details explaining the word picture for A Large Disappointed Audience with both positive and negative expressions of this Mars-ruled degree. But...please try not to be so disappointed, okay?

Julie & Julia's Meryl Streep - accent perfect?

NPR has a year's end summation of best film accents for 2009 and Meryl Streep''s portrayal of Julia Child is garnering much praise for its well-pitched accent of the French cruisine titan of Jupiterian proportions.

Jupiter is often prominent in the natal charts of actors and good cooks, too. One of my favorite lines in Julie & Julia is when the Childs are absorbing a scrumptious meal in Paris and agreeing on how good at eating they are and improving all the time, and Julia says, "Growing in front of you!"...a perfect description of the growth and expansion functions of jolly Jupiter who loves delicious food and wine!

So click above and vote for your favorite film accent for 2009...perhaps it will be Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow...or Meryl Streep as Julia Child!

Scrumptious! Julia Child's Mousse Chocolat recipe

Julia Child's Chocolate Mousse recipe has been located for you!

This is the chocolate concoction from her Mastering the Art of French Cooking that I thought was my best teen-years effort when I attempted to cook in French fashion to help fluff out my French language studies. Plus, our next door neighbor was from Paris and her influence was tres inspirational, as you may imagine.

For years my mother and I watched Julia Child's TV show on PBS together so when I reached actionable age, my mother's kitchen became a battlefield of flour, chocolate squares, and meringues. Yet I seem to remember one recipe involving green peas and lettuce. Hmm. Will have to search it out later...for this blog is all about Art & Chocolates.

So if you've never tried recreating Julia's Mousse Chocolat, I beseech you to call me when it's ready!

But before you begin, perhaps you need Julia's recipe to be replete with photos from David Lebovitz, a blogger in Paris!
