Yesterday while reading "Portrait of a sole female dog" by Katerine Sandrock I started to ask myself if this Cara woman is a bitch or not.

Clearly as Katerine would say she is �??marking her territory�??.

He was pure. Phenomeno!

And there was carrot-top, blonde lashes, green eyes�?�lovely fall colors that warm you up. He was a doll and just the right shape, tall, back like a swimmer, very macho in an amusing way.

She was telling me about the drink she had with an aspiring young Flemish playwright.

He is working on a piece about people and their masks and discussed what he thought his opening scene should be...he had met some really fucked up people in his lifetime of 24.

He saw an ad in the paper, "Sensual curvy lady wishes to explore the dynamics of pleasure. If you do men 30-40 get in 'touch' with me".

Cara, is her name and there was nothing ambiguous about what she seeks. Intrigues him.

He risks being turned down at his age. She was wary, said she would ask him for ID when they meet.

Thrilled he gets to her place, they kiss on the cheek and she offers him a drink. What will it be? A bottle of bubbly it is. With an amused air she asks for his ID and sure enough he was legal, 1982.

They retire to the recliner to enjoy the drink and he wouldn't stop blabbering. At some point he says something about "taking charge" and she took that as a sign to get frisky.

He looks at her and says "Yes, that's why I came. Imagine you invite me into your home having no idea if I'm a serial killer or something worse to have sex with you?"

She says "No masks. We both know what we want and set out to get it, what is wrong with that?"

He then realized that she would be the perfect subject for the opening scene.

Last night I made an excellent mozzarella black olives salad just by marinating the mozzarella with sliced black olives, diced parsely, olive oil, salt and pepper for 1 hour.

So freakin' delicioso.

Olive oil is very good for your heart.

People don't forget to marinate your barbeque meat!

Oh yes, fruit in red wine to make sangria.

I've been very introverted lately...I know, unlike me.

Without meaning to be dramatic or anything, don�??t want to leave you hanging�?�my life has been turned upside down by drastic changes.

I was so tempted to get it all off my chest with a disclaimer like �??The names have been changed to protect the guilty�?? but I�??m just not that way�?�don�??t like airing my dirty laundry in public.

I�??ll tell you two things though, if you have a loving mother-in-law CHERISH her and mothers, cut that damn umbilical cord!

Teenage boys were a mystery to me waaaaay back when I was a teen myself and unsurprisingly they still are.

We�??re taking care of a 15 year old boy whose parents are going through a rough patch and the young man is as monosyllabic as Jean-Claude Van Damme or Sylvester Stallone in their action movies.

Don�??t get me wrong he is respectful and polite but he just can�??t be bothered by us old foggies.

We had such a profound conversation this afternoon:

Me - Did you have lunch darling?

He hardly separated his lips LOL

I�??m not that dense and got the message buzz off lady!

My mistake was to ask him a question that only required a one-word answer (How to get more than a grunt)

metric conversions.org is my new best friend!

I�??m rather peeved that I will have to relearn the US measurement system after it took me so long to master the metric system and don�??t get me started on Celsius to Fahrenheit conversions!

We just had to follow the Imperial system didn�??t we!?

The easiest part will be the time...even though I prefer using military time, no matter how you try to swing it 6:00PM makes more sense than 1800 hrs.

oooo I�??m dizzy just thinking about it and shucks I weigh so much less in kilograms than pounds ;)

Nevertheless US Attorney General Alberto Gonzales�?? proposed bill doesn�??t sit well with me particularly these two sections (below each is CNET�??s background explanation):

CRIMINALIZE "ATTEMPTING" TO INFRINGE COPYRIGHT

Federal law currently punishes not-for-profit copyright infringement with between 1 and 10 years in prison, but there has to be actual infringement that takes place. The IPPA would eliminate that requirement. (The Justice Department's summary of the legislation says: "It is a general tenet of the criminal law that those who attempt to commit a crime but do not complete it are as morally culpable as those who succeed in doing so.")

ADD PENALTIES FOR "INTENDED" COPYRIGHT CRIMES

Currently certain copyright crimes require someone to commit the "distribution, including by electronic means, during any 180-day period, of at least 10 copies" valued at over $2,500. The IPPA would insert a new prohibition: actions that were "intended to consist of" distribution.

Must be the "intended" and "attempted" I have a problem with.

Someone was telling me about a training session they did on the Drama Triangle - Persecutor, Rescuer and Victim and it hit me like a brick that a good part of my life I have been dealing with people who "allow" themselves to be victimized.

It�??s agonizing seeing someone you love "let" that happen to themselves but of course THEY are the tortured souls trapped in a mind cage.

Here�??s what I found on Mental Health Today, very interesting:

The roles of Persecutor, Rescuer and Victim are portrayed in psychological games.

Serves as a training ground for powerlessness.

Prevents psychological equality in relationships.

Will go on as long as someone is willing to be victimized.

Think if you will about a triangle. On each end are roles that we play in life. One is the persecutor, another is the victim and the last is the rescuer.

**If anyone in this triangle changes roles, the other two roles change as well.

PERSECUTOR - "It's All Your Fault"
�?� Sets strict limits unnecessarily.
�?� Blames
�?� Criticizes
�?� Keeps Victim oppressed
�?� Is mobilized by anger
�?� Rigid, authoritative stance
�?� "Critical" Parent

Papa was a rolling stone but Mama has always been the pillar.

Last summer I taught Mama how to send text messages from her mobile phone and one day I receive a text message from Mamasita Linda that read: hi BLACKIE MAMA LOVES YOU BABY �?? case sensitive LOL �?? good thing she doesn�??t read my blog, she would be mortified.

We�??ve been through so much together, I laugh the hardest with her and boy can she talk�?�one summer when I was around 24 I spent the summer in New York and she would drive me to work every morning�?�paka paka she talked up a STORM�?�I said �??Mama, isn�??t your mouth dry already�?�need some water�?? and she replied �??that�??s a nice way to tell your mother to shut up�?? *laughing out loud* we laughed till we cried!

More hedonistic or era-centric!?

This has gotta be the first time I agree to a certain degree with anything the Pope or any other religious leader for that matter says after losing my religion.

�??in an age so full of hedonism,�?? Benedict said the world needs clear souls and pure minds (Pope criticizes 'age so full of hedonism')

Of course the Pope would cite the story of Sodom and Gomorrah in the Book of Genesis where God couldn�??t find even 10 good people and rescued Lot the nephew of Abraham.

Sidenote: Fascinating that Lot is considered the ancestor of the Moabites from which Ruth came from whom Jesus descended.

Frankly though in my opinion from what I have observed and you oldertimers correct me if I am wrong this generation isn�??t more hedonistic than the 60�??s generation and perhaps that isn�??t saying much but seems to me that everyone always looks at their own times without making parallels with other periods of history, we�??re so era-centric.

Are we more hedonistic or simply era-centric!?

I was hesitant to answer anymore interview questions after yesterday�??s pandemonium but hey I won�??t run the other way, I�??ll just smash straight into the wall cracking my head open aoooo!

My brotherman Just Sayin' at SiteInsights...yo wazzup G?...concocted these here questions for me:

1) You're quite a prolific blogger, you seem almost driven to blog...Why do you blog? What drives you? What do you get from it?

In the beginning blogging was a way to clear my head and often times still is but have you seen what�??s going on around here man!? Yawl really get my brain juices flowing, the interaction, exchange and dialogue is extraordinary!

2) You interact with your readers exceptionally well. One of the things I enjoy most about your blog are the comments. You respond to every comment in a personal, conversational manner. A visit to your blog is like having coffee with a friend. Do you consider your readers your friends? Are they real relationships or are they something else entirely?

This might be a virtual meeting place dude but you people are REAL! Real wild, real interesting, real opinionated...it�??s a genuine coffee klatsch! But unlike Linda Richman who would say "Please talk among yourselves" I love to engage with all you wonderful people who have truly become my friends...we laugh, learn and even cry together!

3) The tone of your posts, your comments and your on-line persona in general is quite positive. If I had to assign a theme to your blog, your writing, I think I would label it as growth... Personal growth, spiritual growth, just growth. How would you define the theme of your blog, or would you?

The more I Iive abroad my dear the more I appreciate the American way of life.

No doubt we have our faults and many perceive us as overbearing, which we ARE sometimes BUT live with it non-Americans and as Eleanor Roosevelt said, "Do what you feel in your heart to be right - for you'll be criticized anyway. You'll be damned if you do, and damned if you don't"!

5) What has been your greatest accomplishment to date, and what is one thing you hope to accomplish in the future?

I am fulfilling my dream by traveling to far off places, meeting people from cultures far and wide...the sites, sights, smells, tastes, aaaah what a marvelous journey it has been!

And now that I will be returning to live in the US this coming September (news flash) after 15 years abroad I look forward to the richness America has to offer and hope to pursue further Anthropological studies to complement all the amazing experiences!

1) Would you be willing to make a substantial sacrifice to have any of the following: your photo on the cover of People Magazine, a Nobel prize, a movie made about you, your picture on a postage stamp, a national holiday in your honor, a homecoming parade in your honor in the town you were born?

Being a lover of harmony and balance and longtime Mid-East peace activist it would be an honor to receive such an award.

2) Do you feel you have much impact on the lives of people who read your blog?

That�??s like asking someone if they�??re intelligent, if you say �??yes�?? you sound arrogant and if you say �??no�?? you look stupid!

At the risk of sounding haughty I�??ll say �??yes�?? I do have an impact AND they certainly have a profound impact on my life!

3) If you were offered an amazing position and promotion in another city and knew you would, over the years, drift away from your best friend if you took it, would you go?

In my view there�??s no such thing as drifting away from a good friend. All relationships take investment and as I moved from continent to continent leaving friends behind, we�??ve made an effort to stay in touch and even if we don�??t talk for a while it�??s like we spoke yesterday. So, yes I would go.

4) How do you react when people sing "Happy Birthday" to you in a restaurant?

I slide under the table in embarrassment!

5) If you could snap your fingers and have a brand new ability or quality, what would it be?

ooooo wish I understood natural sciences better...while I am fascinated by them especially biology the human body in particular, I am a DUNCE at the underlying workings which involve chemistry and the like.
