iPad Home Button no response easy fix.

I had Home iPad button bad response problem for months and finally decided to fix it. After some googling I found easy solution @ iFixit:

"Twist the frame of your iPad gently, torque it by twisting gently at opposit corners. The makes the button work again. It was a permanent fix for me."

Fixing problems with Windows 7 and Windows Home Server Backup:
"Option 2: This is probably the one you'll have to use. If you don't have contiguous space on the drive that can be used for expansion, you can shrink one of the primary partitions and create a new System Reserved partition in the new space. Once again go into Disk Management. Right click the C partition or any other, and Shrink Volume. Shrink it by you're chosen amount of less than 500MB but more than 100MB. The next step is to right click the newly created partition and format it as NTFS. Then right click again and give it a drive letter. I gave mine the letter F. Now we're ready to copy the files you'll need. You'll have to open a Command Prompt as Administrator and run the following command. This assumes C:\Windows is where your Windows install resides, and you lettered the new partition F.
bcdboot C:\Windows /s F:
This copies all of the files over to the new partition that you'll need to boot. Before you reboot, though, you need to right click the new partition for the last time and Mark Partition as Active."

Fix for very annoying problem with IE (XD Proxy Server for Facebook and Adds in IE9 browser History)
Here are the steps I took (Win 7 64bit):

Reset IE 9 (Tools/Internet Options/Advanced/Reset...)
Close all programs.
Press Start, type "Indexing Options" in the search box and click the applet.
Click Modify, and then remove the checkbox next to Internet Explorer History. Click OK.
Wait for the IE history item to disappear from the Included Locations, and then click Advanced.
Click Rebuild in the Advanced Options page.
Wait for indexing to complete. Depending on your system and options, this may take a while.

Very annoying problem with Sony Motion Eye 64 bit driver for many Sony Notebook customers that decided to upgrade from Vista or XP to Win 7. After spend some time goggling, testing...
This is what worked for me:

Usually happened after hardware upgrades (Processor, motherboard, etc...).
go into hidden folder C:\Program Data\microsoft\Windows\DRM and delete everything in it.
I have deleted the contents of DRM (it is a hidden folder; Go into folder options and uncheck the Hide protected operating system files and click apply. ) and it works for me!

Also works for error: "Digital cable registration application has stopped working"

To repair you network for connectivity problems between PCs (files sharing, groups, network map, streaming, ect..) - reset your network adapter (TCP/IP)

Example:

Click Start, and then click Run.
In the Open box, type cmd, and then click OK.
At the command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:
netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt
Type exit, and then press ENTER

"Most users of Google Chrome enjoy its minimal interface. So why use a clunky toolbar to display your bookmarks full-time if you don't have to? Like many other excellent Chrome features, adding a miniscule bookmarks menu button is only a command line switch away!

Just right click your Chrome shortcut and choose properties. In the target box, add a space and --bookmark-menu after chrome.exe. the result should something look like this:

C:\Users\LeeM\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe --bookmark-menu

This works on versions 2, 3, and 4 of Google Chrome, so it's a tweak anyone can use. That is, as long as you're running Windows - my Linux and Mac versions don't seem to be able to add the button yet.

Note: as mentioned in the comments, yes, you CAN add multiple switches - just put a space in between each one like so:

I also found an extension called "Bookmark Tree" that solves this problem. It puts a star icon on the url bar for the bookmarks.

Did you know that Windows 7 has a GodMode? What GodMode does is it enables you to have a place where you can get to all the settings without having to browse around and click through the options and folders in control panel.

Add a new folder to your desktop and name it GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}
After that is done you will see the new icon on your desktop

I used the Picasa "Folder Manager" [Tools, Folder Manager] to turn folders on and off and I discovered the error came from a folder containing videos. I moved all the video files to a folder not being watched by Picasa and then moved them back again a few at a time until I found the one video file that causing the error.
