Carson amazes me more and more daily. He is very intelligent, has a kind heart, talented, the list goes on. I have had every single teacher he has had to tell me they wished all students were like Carson. I tell them to come home with me. He has his days like any other "tween." I smiled and hugged him as big as I could this morning and told him to have a great day. I had that lump in my throat the whole time. I got to work and turned in my letter of resignation and finally let the lump out.

Happy birthday, Carson- my first born. My angel. I will always hold a special bond with you like no other. Hope your day is fantastic! Did i mention he is 11?

Let me just tell you - Carson is not like me in many different ways. One being he is shy and the other being when he was younger he could not stand to take pictures so he would stare straight faced and not show his teeth. I wanted those little teeth that were pulled to show in his pictures and he showed them in one of all his 7 year old pictures we had made. ONE picture. Look at his beautiful blue eyes and hair. The last picture we would tell him to show us his muscles and this was a quick shot his MiMi took of it.

Around a year ago Perez put on his site about this amazing upcoming artist- I always go check them out. Afterall, he is in the know of most things. I checked her out and fell in love with her voice. This past Sunday I missed the VMA's but heard about this performance and this performance was why the ratings were so high this year. I am in Plato's closet and I hear this performance and what do you know it is the artist Perez was telling us all about. Adele. Her voice is like an angel. So calm and soothing. I will admit I had to hurry as soon as the song went off to get out of the store because it almost made me cry. Beautiful music and words are so close to my heart. One of my good friends went through a tough time close to a year ago. She lost her husband and has two small children (now 11 months old & 2 years old) to raise and is 29 years old. A widow at 29 years old with two young children. Yes, you read that correctly. I want you to stop and think of where you were in your life at 29 years old. When something this tragic takes place in your life- you find out who your true friends are. And, that my peeps is who you keep close to your heart forever. The people that are there for you, the people that take time out of their crazy life and make you realize it will be okay. As I sat there staring at her at the funeral- all I saw were tears streaming down her face, sobbing. I thought to myself- how is she going to be able to do this on her own? Mind you - NONE of his family was at the funeral with the exception of his daughters (older). This was foreshadowing to how her life was about to be. Sure, she has her family here- they also have children and work. Having an infant and a 1 year old...at nigh time? at dinner? in the mornings? It honestly made me sick to my stomach to even think about. Even on my bad days- I still think of the obstacles she had to face and how she came through it. God doesn't put more on you that you can handle. I've heard this before however, sometimes don't you just want to look up and say, "um...? what is going on here?" You can do that but in the end, you will pull through it. Abbi is one of the strongest people I know (psychically and mentally). You deal the cards you are dealt and she did just that. Today, is a milestone - she is purchasing her new house by herself with her two babies. Again, all by herself. So, shout outs to you, Abbi - I am super excited for you & you continue to amaze me with your strong willed self. You wear the S on your chest pretty well.

When you have red hair you are OFTEN asked, "where did you get that red hair from?" Carson's answer was always, "it's not red, it's ORANGE!" I love the fact in the below picture he is looking in the correct place but I am not. When he was 2 years old - he was telling an adult to double click on an icon to get to the screen he wanted to go to. He knew how to use the computer at the age of two. Yes, you read that correctly. He is very smart and I am not being partial. He reminds me of that all too often. When he was in pre-school they had Santa pictures. Yes, a reminder note was sent home. However, it was still warm outside. So, I dressed him in his spongebob outfit. He never told me he got pictures made that day only to realize it when I got the pictures back. I was so embarassed! I still to this day forget picture day at daycare with Griff. The funny part about it is - they actually put him on santa's lap with his matching spongebob t-shirt & shorts and thought I was okay with that? LOL.

I did some stalking today and found out something interesting. You see I only watch t.v. with no educational value and is totally not true. So, I didn't catch "The Voice" and who the winner was. Yes, I make up words all the time. I also over use words and will write a run on sentence like nobody's business and am not a fan of new paragraphs (except for right now- which honestly it wasn't 5 sentences and I shouldn't or should I start them then?) been too long.

What a busy Friday! Friday and busy should never go together in the same sentence. As I sit here, typing- I hear my neighbor (cubicle land) slurping his soup and hitting the spoon on his ceramic mug. I want to yell "there's no more in there!" but I shall refrain and continue with Friday's ramblings. So, big change coming up and no I am not pregnant- it has to do with a job but I don't want to mention it on here bc I may jinx it. Griffin & Halle will be starting soccer this year together. Those two are like two peas in a pod. They are only 13 months apart so they are thick as theives. It should be interesting to say the least. Carson started 5th grade this year. As I was on my girl trip to the beach - I spoke to my girlfriends about what I was doing in 5th grade. Besides the whole button my fly guess blue jean shorts and bad side bangs pushed over and my nike jordans (get off my back- I wanted a pair bc my boyfriend had every pair he ever made). 5th grade is the most important road you take because it is the route change road (by the end of it, anyway). Carson will be 11 (tear) in a few weeks (tear again)- he should still be in diapers and me chasing him around with my 100 pound skinny tail. When did this happen? Overnight, it seems. Then, I see Griffin and he is complete opposite of Carson and how he was at that age. Change & New-ness: are you a fan?

Most of the time - I find myself giving advice days later I end up asking myself to take my own advice. Yesterday, I told one of my very good friends everything happens for a reason> I find myself saying this a lot but she truly needed to hear it that very moment and it was so head on the truth. Everything you are facing right now- good or bad, it is happening for a reason. You will find out later in life what that reason is. It may be to make you stronger, make you realize or just make you grow but there is a reason. I hope you find that reason.

Wow. Almost a year since I last posted. I started the blog to take my mind off of personal stuff going on. Now, more stuff is going on so figured I'd pull a Carrie Bradshaw on ya and start writing again. I turned 29 plus 1 this year. That was an expeirence but not like I quite thought it was going to be. You see- that week of my bday weekend was when the tornados came through our sweet little state of Alabama. It wiped out so much including my grandparents

A ton of people are about to lose their jobs at my work and it will trickle down to the rest of the community. This weighs heavily on my mind daily. I ask myself is it better to know what lies ahead or is best not to know? It depends on who you ask this to. I am happy I don't know because without knowing - that's how you grow, experience, and learn. In the end, that is what molds you into you.

Remember this post? I know he is smiling down on us right now and wouldn't want us to be upset but I am for my own selfish reason.. I wish he could have met so many of the important people in my life. He is so missed and would be so proud of his brother and sister and mom and dad for being so strong and he would have eaten Myles up! Of course he would have had to fight Aunt Ashley for that.

What a roller coaster June was! I am so happy July is here! I have tons of pictures to post but for now - the thing that made my day was getting an award from my girl over at High Heeled Love. So, she gave me the "You're going places, baby" award. The rule is to name what you will be doing in 10 years from now. I would rather bend the rules a bit kinda like Aubrey did. I will tell you where I was 10 years ago.

I was pregnant with my first child. He will be 10 this September. This was a very emotional time for me. I had feelings I had never experienced before (hormones). After all, I was somewhat still a baby myself. I was overfilled with excitement, being scared, upset, yeah you mommies know what I am talking about. I moved out of my parents house when I was 18 years old and had Carson when I was 19. I have been on my own ever since, had a full time job, had insurance, squeezed a few college classes in, and somehow managed to snag a hot husband all in the process. I wouldn't change anything that has happened to me in the last 10 years because that has made me who I am today.

My lovelies, as much stress and bad days as we have just remember someone else is always suffering worse than you are. I say this after my post yesterday. I have a blogger friend named Megan I have followed for quite some time. She has a newborn and he is not doing well at all. I also have another blogger friend that I read daily. I read about a child that was born and his mother was on crystal meth and he barely survived but he beat the odds. He did and was adopted by his NICU nurse - now 3 years later he suffered again and passed away. I won't go into details because honstly I can't type them it makes me so sick. Pray for both of these babies and their families and remember someone else is always working on tougher things than you are. Thanks for the sweet comments yesterday - they brighten my day!

...miss you all & am taking a break. We have slight changes going on around here and I wear my heart on my shoulder so these things have upset me & I haven't been able to stay focused on much. I will be back soon when things start to slow down. Pray for me & my family. My stepdad's mom is not doing so well right now, one of our managers passed away last week tragically, several co-workers are losing jobs due to the cancelation of the ARES/Constellation Program and depending on how deep the cuts are my name could be on that cut list, the oil crisis, and much more

so please say a prayer for me, my family, and friends.
