The Morrigan is the Celtic Goddes of battle and fertility. She is a triple Goddess with the other two being Badb and Macha. Her symbol is a raven (a bird of ill omen in the Celtic tradition) and she is one of the Tuatha de Danaan, the people of the Goddess Danu. She is a Dark Goddess. She appears in the form of a raven before and after battles. She is Macha when she works magic with the blood of the slain and Badb when she appeared in the form of a giantess on the eve of war to warn soldiers of their fates. She is also Nieman when she appears as a shapeshifting crone.
She helped defeat the Firbolg at the First Battle of Mag Tuireadh and the Fomorians at the Second Battle of Mag Tuireadh.

When there were neither the creation, nor the sun, the moon, the planets, and the earth, when the darkness was enveloped in darkness, then the Mother, the Formless One, Maha Kali, the Great Power, was one with the Maha Kala, the Absolute.

Kali Ma is the black Goddess, She Who Is Beyond Time. Her garland of severed heads symbolizes the severing of impure thoughts and distractions. She is frequently misunderstood as evil or scary. However she is loving, she is The Destroyer so that life can be reborn. She is the slayer of Anger and Passion that distract us from our divinity.She destroys confusion so that we can know peace and joy.

Kali is jnana shakti, the energy of Wisdom, the intuitive illumination within, as compared with the intellectual contemplation of the external. Knowledge is conceived, wisdom is intuited. When Kali takes away the darkness of the Dark Luminosity of the outside world, She grants illumination to the Dark Luminosity of the inner world. Such is Her Grace.

Dagda, or The Dagda, ("the good god") is the leader of the Tuatha de Danaan who are the supernatural beings who inhabited Ireland prior to the coming of the Celts. He is the Father God. He rules over life and death. He is a master of magic, a fearsome warrior and a skilled artisan. He rules over magic, wisdom, and heaven. Dagda's mother is Danu. His daughter is Brigid and his son is Aengus mac Oc. His wife is the Morrigan.
The Dagda has a super- human strength and appetite. His attributes are a cauldron with an inexhaustible supply of food, a magical harp with which he summons the seasons, and an enormous club, with one end of which he could kill nine men, but with the other restore them to life.

First select the proper color for your purpose or intent. Then you prepare the candle by carving symbols in it related to your purpose. You can carve in runes or the Witches' Alphabet. Then you visualize your purpose and light the candle. Let it burn down completely until it extinguishes itself. Then you are done. Make sure you keep an eye on the candle while it is burning and take the proper safety precautions. Make sure you never blow out the candle as this will disperse your intent. If you must snuff it out with a candle snuffer.

Magickal Uses of Basil

Basil is a great herb. It is used for love, wealth, exorcism, and protection. I often use it for wealth and protection rituals. You can use the herb as well as the essential oil for many things. The herb is great for charm bags and incense. The essential oil is great for candle magick and magick around the house.

For a protection or wealth charm bag, you want to add herbs and stones to the proper color fabric and create a little bag with it. Then you need to charge it with the four elements and your intent or purpose. This is great to carry around with you, put in your car, or in your house. Basil hung by the door in your house will protect your house from negativity and those who would do you harm. You can also use the basil essential oil and put it around all the doors and windows of your house to accomplish the same thing.

Making your own incense is a very powerful tool. You can use the herb ground up, add the essential oil, and add it toa resin base such as Frankincense or Myrrh. These are great on charcoal and ritual fires. If you don't wish to make it yourself, at least buy it from someone who has handmade it. Then charge it with your purpose and intent.
You can also use the essential oil in candle magick. Carve symbols in the candle and then annoint it with the basil essential oil. Charge it with your intention and then just light it.
So try some basil, it is one of my favorite herbs and one that is often overlooked.
