Did you know Queen Victoria and two thousand women signed a petition opposing women's suffrage, as women were physically different to men and should not do men's things (like voting) as it might affect their ability to bear children. Sounds like something Pete Hegseth, JD Vance and Charlie Kirk (if he hadn't been shot) are pushing today.

An Utterly Impartial History of Britain: (or 2000 Years Of Upper Class Idiots In Charge) by John O'Farrell, continues, and we have been through a load of Henries (Or Is It Henrys?), stopping at Henry VIII, and then an Edward, and now we have had the nine-day queen, Lady Jane Grey, Blood Mary (who gave her name to a drink), Mary Queen of Scots (an odd title) who spent nineteen years locked up before being executed by Elizabeth, who actually did a decent job.

Apparemtly Henry VIII composed "Greensleeves", and when Mary Queen of Scots was executed, the executioner made a mess, and after her beheading her body started to move. It was her puppy that was hidden in her clothes.

Too Many Henries (Or Is It Henrys?) And Joan Of Arc

A fifteen-year-old girl (Joan of Arc) gets armoured up and then leads the French to victory against Henry VI, but she is then sold to the English and burned at the stake. A bit like what is happening today across the water and in the royal Family.

Based on surveys regarding biblical literacy in the United States, there is a widely cited, albeit startling, statistic that a portion of Americans confuse historical and biblical figures.

The Survey Statistic: Multiple reports, often citing a 2005 Barna Group survey, indicate that approximately 12% of Americans believed that Joan of Arc was the wife of Noah. Some sources suggest this figure may be even higher in certain contexts, mentioning 20%.
The Confusion: The misconception likely stems from a conflation of "Noah's Ark" (the biblical boat) and "Joan of Arc" (the 15th-century French heroine).
The Reality:
- Noah lived in the ancient biblical era.
- Joan of Arc (Jeanne d'Arc) was a French peasant girl who lived from roughly 1412–1431 AD, over a thousand years after the biblical timeframe.

The author compares this to the Labour Government of the late seventies except Thatcher was the last PM of the seventies, and she destroyed the country with her spiteful economics.

Richard was succeeded by John Lackland, who was not much better, so they forced him to sign the Magna Carta.

Rome Is Finished

Thankfully, "The Vengeance Of Rome" by Michael Moorcock, the fourth and final part of the Pyat quartet, is over. While I wanted to know what happened, it was hard going, and the protagonist was very annoying. That was 2,200 pages of reading that I just wanted to end.

My next one is An Utterly Impartial History of Britain: (or 2000 Years Of Upper Class Idiots In Charge) by John O'Farrell which, thirty pages in, is a bit of fresh air and fun, but there are five hundred pages to go on this one.

While I will never read these books again, it has still been a strange and interesting journey. I still have two-thirds of this book to go.

"The Vengeance Of Rome" by Michael Moorcock, the fourth and final part of the Pyat quartet, is coming to a close. Max is back in favour with the Third Reich and is flying his one-man airship for reconnaissance in Spain, but he, rather expectedly, gets shot down. He still manages to find an old acquaintance, and together they plan an escape.

While I will never read these books again, it has still been a strange and interesting journey. I still have two-thirds of this book to go.

Max In Dachau

"The Vengeance Of Rome" by Michael Moorcock, the fourth and final part of the Pyat quartet, now finds Max in jail in Dachau, and things are getting very bad for him. He has been betrayed by friends and is doing terrible things to stay alive. There are sixty pages to go before this is wrapped up ,and I will see how that happens this week.

While I will never read these books again, it has still been a strange and interesting journey. I still have two-thirds of this book to go.

Why Donald Trump Does What He Does

Donald Trump has the mentality of an awful, spiteful five-year-old child and is never slapped down for what he does.

Think what would happen if a kid steals, or nites another, and people just say, "Aw, you know what he's like" with no thought for his victims. He would keep doing it, and each day would get worse.

He breaks the law every day, and he lies every day, and people say he's not nice, but no one takes any action.

The two recent murders by his thugs were just an extension of his saying he could shoot somebody in the street and people would love him for it.

He is a disgusting individual, and the Democrats could have stopped this after the attack on the Capitol, but they didn't. Lots of words are said, but nothing is done.

He has surrounded himself with sycophantic thugs, and he is being allowed to get away with murder.

The Epstein files will prove him to be a rapist and worse, but why the hell the victims are not listened just smacks of legal misogyny.

I needed to say this, though it's pointless putting it on Vocal as I am not listened to there

Train To Italy (Or Spain)

In "The Vengeance Of Rome" by Michael Moorcock, the fourth and final part of the Pyat quartet, I have less than a hundred pages to go (2,200), and Max is on a train to either Italy or Spain, who knows where. The books have actually been uneventful on a large scale, but have had a lot happening on the ground. I want to find out how Max ends up in his shop in London, but there are not that many pages to go, so who knows how that will happen.
