2 tacs is a fashion label headed by Ryouji Honma, who is also famous stylist. 2 tacs is composed of the remakes of rags and original clothes that receive the inspiration from rags.

DESIGNER:

Ryouji Honma, Born 1975 in Tokyo JAPAN.

He was interested in rags since infancy, and after it had graduated from the school, he became assistant of stylist. After he got established as a stylist, he started 2 tacs as a remake brand of rags.

Tag of the analog network is an origin of the brand name.

“2 tacs” means “remake of rags (1 tac) + the processing that fits individually (1 tac)”.

The brand concept is Super Basic.

In 2007, the flagship shop was opened in Ikejiri, Tokyo.

Comment:

The product lineup of the remakes of rags includes parka that dismantles once, and restructured Champion’s parka and T-shirt customized with badge of vintage, etc.

Meanwhile, the product lineup of the original clothes includes “Skafer” taste clothes. “Skafer” is coinage that combines the skateboard with the surfer that is either designer’s hobby, and clothes are mixed those two tastes.

Recently, down-jacket, denim, bag and budget those are collaborated with Porter of Yoshida Kaban is very popular.

In addition, it is an interior and a display in the shop that want to pay attention.

The art of artificial flower that designer produced and the vase made from sneaker of CONVERSE and VANS are decorated in the store, and designer’s sensibility is condensed.

Daikanyama address

There was a very beautiful illumination when walking on the Yahata-dori.

It is an illumination of Daikanyama address.

Daikanyama is settled very calm and peaceful town where contains a small high-level boutique, upscale pastry shops, and cafe. There is a polished air, and holiday is crowded with fashionable families. I think the introduction to the guide book of the travel because I see a lot of foreign travelers.

Daikanyama address is a luxury apartment building that exists in such Daikanyama. The first floor has a shopping mall, a high-level boutique, and the cafe in the building that Fumihiko Maki who is a famous architect in Japan designed.

There is a hat specialty store where classical atmosphere named CA4LA is very fashionable in one of such shops.

In Daikanyama address, the building is one like the town.

I’d like to live in such a nice building once.

N.Hoolywood shop

I had gone to the shop to introduce N.HOOLYWOOD (MISTER HOLLYWOOD) because I receive contact “The shop interior of N.HOOLYWOOD is anxious” from French reader the other day.

The N.HOOLYWOOD shop is in the residential area that entered a little as for Omotesando that is Main Street in Harajuku. It may be hard to find, and even if Japanese, a lot of people cannot find shop.

The house of Hollywood style appears suddenly in the Japanese style residential area when entering the back road in Omotesando Hills. It is N.HOOLYWOOD shop. The sun in California suits a fresh sky blue house well.

In the entrance of the shop, there is a lovely display that seems to exist in the old clothes shop in Santa Monica.

There is a display of an old pierrot and shelf metallic used at factory in old times etc. everywhere in the inside of a shop. There is a polished air there during old-fashioned, and settles down when in there.

To our regret, the interior was not able will photograph it.

Therefore, actually comes to Japan, and go to the shop if you would be interested in shop interior. The pierrot is waiting you at the entrance of the shop.

MIHARA YASUHIRO, a well known brand for there leather shoes were one of the original brands to produce the “Japanese Designer Shoes” which are very much in fashion. They are a uprising brand around the world.

DESIGNER:

Yashuhiro Mihara, Born 1972 June 15th
Son of a father who was a professor in chicken vaccines, and a mother who was a oil painter. He was the second son in the family. As he was gifted with artistic genes, he was a painter himself up to the age of 18. At the age of 11, he started to carry interest in clothing. This led on to interests in the world of fashion leaving behind his interests in art. In 1993, he joined Tamagawa Fine Arts University. A year later, he started making shoes on his own. In 1996, with the help from makers in Asakusa, Tokyo he set up his own brand, “Archi Doom”
After graduating University in March 1997, he joined the set up team for a shoe make “Evol”. Soon after, he changes the brand name to his own, “MIHARA YASUHIRO”. In June 1998 he opens his first official shop, “SOSU MIHARA YASUHIRO” in Minami-Aoyama. The following year he sets up, “SOSU Co. LTD,” (Current SOSU INTERNATIONAL CO. LTD.) which he becomes the CEO of. The company’s name, “SOSU” means a prime number, which furthermore means that as a prime number can only be divided by 1 or itself, it has the freedom and infinitely.

In 1999-2000 A/W at the Tokyo Collection, they announced their Men’s clothing, followed by the Ladies clothing announced in 2000.

In 2000 April, they announced a new production line which was a collaboration with another shoes make, “PUMA” which was a huge success and was soon announced around the world in 2001, September. This spread Yasuhiro’s work around the world. The same month, he signed a contract with “PUMA AG” to be their designer. In 2005 S/S, a shoes limited collection, “PUMA BY MIHARA YASUHIRO” was presented.

By January 2002, his work, “PUMA BY MIHARA YASUHIRO” made a debut on “PITTI IMMAGINE UOMO”. Exactly 2 years later, he signed a foreign license contract with “KARADA” which then allowed him to release his original word “MIHARA YASUHIRO” around the world.

His work appeared in the Milan Collection in 2005 followed by an appearance in the Paris Collection in 2007. His work was very popular on his first appearance as many described his clothing as, “Poem-full Clothing”

His brother is a back designer for “SAN HIDEAKI MIHARA”.

Comment:

Much of Yasuhiro’s work has got a very orthodox feeling to it. However, within this, “MIHARA YASUHIRO” can achieve affects and feelings that only and the Japanese Factories have been put in them.
Aspects which Yasuhiro’s work is better quality than other brands are his leather products. Designs such as leathering covering metal buckles on belts, or stadium jumpers with a MA-1 front, warn out affects, and boots with twists in them are very challenging, and experiments and research are made daily to bring out more original products as such. In Japan, both Men’s and Women’s products have an equal popularity proving their balance.

Lastly, shoes by “MIHARA YASUHIRO” have a very good maintenance stance as the craftsman who made the shoes takes responsibility of any repairs. Despite “MIHARA YASUHIRO” is a leather based company, they do not take any skin from living animals. They also donate to Animal-rights groups.

UNDERCOVER Shop

Hello. Japan becomes very cold in winter. How about the country of everybody?

Ｔoday I write the article on the shop of “Undercover” that is brand with largest number of hits in this blog.

Because generate comment that want to see externals of the store, I upload photos of UNDERCOVER.

This is UNDERCOVER Aoyama store. 1F is ladies’ and children’s, and 2F is men’s.

UNDERCOVER Shop is in recess of Aoyama that is high end shopping street lines with Y-3 and corso・como COMME des GARCONS also famous in Paris, etc.

5 minutes on foot from Exit A-5 OmoteSando Station of the Chiyoda Line, Hanzomon Line and Ginza Line, Tokyo Metro(Subway). Walk along Main street two blocks, and then turn right. Turn left the next corner, and you’ll see UNDERCOVER on your left.

Sequel of Fashion War in Harajuku

“Fashion war in Harajuku” written on November 17 is being received well and I reports on the sequel this time because generate many comments that subsequent is anxious.

This time, I sneaked into Harajuku shop of H&M, Fashion Monster from Sweden, of just opening in November.

I queued up in the procession in front of the shop for about 15 minutes, and, at last, reached the shop.

Here is a display at the entrance. A stylish display queues up well in the color balance.

B1F is men’s, and from 1F to 3F is ladies’. Female shoppers were more than man shoppers, and there were a lot of travelers from Asia such as South Korea and China, too.

The inside of a store was also terribly crowded of course. It crowds as shown in the following photographs.

The fitting room and the cash register were similarly terrible processions.

However, there were a lot of people who went out without buying anything because the inside of a store was too crowded, and cannot see the clothes slowly.

Reason for H&M’s popularity is cheapness and quality. Especially, the collaboration item with COMME des GARCONS to which Japan boasts to the world is sold according to this opening of Harajuku store, and there might be a lot of people who are aiming at the item, too.

To the enjoyment shortly I will write the article on COMME des GARCONS.

As described avobe, the monster from Sweden seems to still rage in the future!
