Thank you all for your kind responses to this week's posts and your encouragement - it's heartwarming to hear that we're all kind of feeling uneasy with how the blog world has progressed. I am relieved I am not alone, and I am thankful to have this forum to discuss how I am dealing with it and the changes I am making as a result. Please, continue sharing with me your stories, you have no idea what little tip might encourage others to do the same.

EASY STEPS TO DECLUTTER YOUR BEDROOM

When I started the process of decluttering our home, at first, I felt a little resistant. Our house stays relatively clean and picked up. It's not overflowing.

Yet, something still didn't feel right. Something deep in my gut told me I could do better. After reading through a few books on the subject, I decided to start with the place that should be the most relaxing part of our home - the bedroom.

In our little San Francisco apartment, storage is a big (small?) problem. We have one tiny closet in our bedroom, a small coat closet, and then a big closet in our dining room that has to store anything else we own from hiking gear to Christmas ornaments. The result is that when guests or visitors were coming, our bedroom became the dumping ground for things around the apartment that didn't have a proper home - my husband's workout equipment, the giant suitcase that is too big to fit under the bed and can't fit in the overflowing dining room closet, laundry. You get the idea. We tried in earnest to keep it picked up, but after letting it lay there a couple of days we started to ignore it and the end result is our room was not the calm oasis it should be.

Here's the process I used to start bringing order back, and hopefully, it will inspire you to do the same. I highly recommend you begin on a Friday evening so that you have plenty of time to devote to this over the weekend and it doesn't interrupt your weekday routine.

ONE

Take everything out. Yes. Everything. You name it, it needs to leave. Make another room your staging ground. I pulled down curtains, all the photos off the wall, cleared the tops of nightstands, removed decorative pillows, emptied all dresser drawers and closet, and moved any furniture out that wasn't absolutely needed. If you've got stuff stored under the bed, move that out, too.

When I was done, all that remained was our bed, two pillows, sheets, and two nightstands with lamps.

Step back. How does it feel to have a stark, empty room? When you go to bed Friday night with less, do you sleep better? Does it feel a little more peaceful and quiet?

When you wake up Saturday morning, what do you notice? The way the light filters through the bare windows? The excitement of a fresh start?

I'm willing to bet this feeling is just the jumpstart you need to get and keep things in order, permanently. Who wouldn't want to wake up in this room every day? Sit in the empty space for a while and ask yourself what the long term vision is for your space. How do you want to feel when you walk in the room? Let your gut be your guide as we move to the next step.

TWO

Looking through the objects - don't touch your clothes, for now - you removed, what doesn't belong?

Are you storing something under your bed that could really have a new, better home? One that makes more sense for what it's used for?

For me, it was wrapping paper. For my husband, it was his workout equipment. We don't wrap gifts or lift weights in our bedroom, why would we keep those objects there? We pulled them aside to try and find a better place to store them.

Are you finding things you had no idea you had? Things you don't even need that could immediately go?

I found three old cell phones (flip phone, really?) and various cables that were stored in a clear "electrics" container under our bed. Along with the boxes for Kindles, iPads, and multiple generations of iPhones. You don't need those. I didn't need those. They definitely don't belong under the bed. Donate or trash accordingly.

Are there decorative objects that no longer spark joy for you?

Everything looks different once it's out of its usual place. Objects tend to fade in the background once they've become stagnant. But moving them outside of their designated spot allows you to see them more clearly.

Does the print you have hanging on the wall calm you, or do you actually not really like it? Does it truly inspire you, or is it just a space filler? If you can't make a decision now, consider storing it elsewhere until you either miss it so much you hang it back up, or find that you don't miss it at all and can now donate it.

It's very important to place your hand on every single object, and ask yourself these questions. It takes longer, but the end result is so worth it. Keep pressing on!

By now, you've had a busy day. It takes a long, long time to go through things and the more you have, the more you will need to sort. Don't lose hope if it's taking you longer. See the project through and take as long as you need.

THREE

Give your room a good cleaning. You'll be surprised that a task that once seemed monumental, like wiping down the baseboards or vacuuming wall to wall including under the bed, is now pretty easy with fewer objects blocking your way.

This step is absolutely crucial - you will notice a difference in how the air in your room feels, and the task of caring for your home is deeply satisfying when done correctly.

FOUR

Put everything back that you've sorted and determined is a keep. Leave your clothes out of the room for now - we're just focusing on furnishings, decorative items, and things you use daily in the bedroom. These might include:

A treasured photo in a frame you like to keep on your nightstand

Jewelry dish that you place your daily wear items in.

That artwork that you love waking up and seeing.

One book you're currently reading.

Things you might not put back:

The chair that you never sit in but becomes a dumping ground for dirty clothes.

Things you're storing under your bed that can be stored elsewhere.

Space filling decorative objects that have no sentimental value.

Extra pillow that you have to toss aside every single night that you don't even like that much.

You get the idea.

Give everything a good dusting and wipe down before you put it back in your clean room.

Take a look around - how does the room feel now? Does it have the end result you envisioned when you started? Is something missing?

If you feel something is missing or feel the sudden urge to purchase something to fill an empty wall or space, I encourage you to sit with that feeling for a week. Many times, the answer is that nothing new is needed, your gut is just resisting change and telling you that it is. After a week, you will have a clearer understanding of whether it's a need versus a want.

FIVE

Maintain. Maintain. Maintain.

With a clean slate, objects that don't belong will become more apparent. Clutter will be more noticeable. Once you see it, take steps to immediately put it back in its right place.

Make your bed every day. The habit of bed making is a turning point - start doing it and see if you don't feel a little bit less stressed and more accomplished as you start the day. And if you don't know the feeling of sinking into a crisp, well-made bed at the end of a long day, you're in for a treat.

Stop the flow of items into the room. For now, stop purchasing new clothes or accessories until we've had a chance to sort through the ones you already own - you know, the ones still in the other room. We'll get to that.

If You Don't Know Where To Begin...

If the process of simplifying your entire home seems overwhelming, might I recommend a simple place to start?

The bedroom.

Bedrooms are a place to relax, recharge, and should be a calming oasis in your home. It's no secret I'm a lover of neutrals, but if you're crazy about color, try using only soothing tones in your room and see what a difference it makes.

My friends jokingly call my house the 50 Shades of Grey House, for good reason. I love grey because if you pick the right tone, it can feel warm and rich, not cold and steely.

But all of these rooms require serious downsizing of accessories and using just a few items to create maximum impact.

Less to dust and maintain? Sign me up.

Tomorrow I'll share the process I used to simplify our room, but for today, let's just all bask in the serenity of these gorgeous rooms, ok?

I wasn't really sure how to approach this here, and why I basically left this space quiet for so long, but here goes. I am tired of writing a blog that mostly focused on acquisition of goods for myself, while encouraging others to do the same.

There. For the three of you that are left, that's how I'm feeling these days.

The dirty secret of the blog world is this: we consume, hoping you will consume, and when you do we make a fee for our efforts and it all gets very exciting.

It's a hamster wheel, and if you aren't vigilant about keeping your head above water, it can pretty much drown you. At what cost?

At some point in 2014 I had a big "what the actual hell, Lauren?" moment. I think it was on our honeymoon. For two weeks, I traveled with nothing more than a carry-on and a tote bag, with my husband by my side...it was all I needed. Traveling light is nothing new to me, but this time it really hit me. Did I really need more than I already owned? Did I really need everything I already owned? Did those things make me as happy as this gift of travel, of unconditional love, of fulfillment that I was experiencing?

Well, no.

That was the start of a shift of epic proportions, and I never saw it coming.

As a creative, I can appreciate the beauty in many, many things. And fashion? It's art. The perfect fabric, the way a blouse drapes just so, the careful stitch on a well-made garment. The loftiness of a dreamy cashmere, a delicate sheen of silk. It plays to all my creative senses and I really can't get enough. Borrowing a phrase from one of my (now) favorite books, the right garment totally sparks joy for me.

The dangerous pitfall is that falling in love means you want it, nothing can stop you from getting it and who cares if you really need it?

Say what?

By some happy coincidence I ended up reading "The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up" by Marie Kondo. It came out in October, just as we got back from our honeymoon and I was ripe for change. The premise of the book is this - keep only what sparks joy.

Do extra cords, cables, manuals to printers and software discs bring you joy? Toss.

Does that sweater that you keep having to sew a button back on because it's cheaply made bring you joy? Toss.

Did you buy that shirt thinking you would wear it all the time and now it hangs in your closet because it was really, really expensive, causing you guilt every time you open the closet door? Donate.

I'm a fan of decluttering, but this book spoke to my heart. When I narrowed down my list of the five things I was most thankful for in my life, did an object land on that list? No.

Can you see where this is going by now?

Within about two weeks, I quickly donated two car loads of items to local charities that could use them more than me. They weren't bringing me joy, but boy I wish I could have snapped a picture of the faces on the staff where I donated. I would look at it any time I felt down.

I recycled and trashed about 20 bags of goods.

You might think by now I must have been a hoarder, and our place a disaster, but that's really not the case. Those who know me best wouldn't declare my home messy, or say that I had too many things. Our apartment wasn't sparse, but it wasn't bursting at the seams.

Besides the financial investment when you purchase an object, we forget about the "cost" of maintaining, storing, and moving them. There is an emotional cost, too. Fresh off Marie and eager to keep pushing forward, I read "Everything That Remains" by The Minimalists.

Minimalist? Hmm.

I experienced a little resistance in my gut when that word kept coming up. Did it mean I would have to live in a stark space, with none of my favorite photos or art? Did it mean I would have to get rid of 90% of my closet and only cycle between 10 items?

What I learned, is that minimalism looks different for everyone. But the basic philosophy is this - the best things in life aren't things, and clearing the excess out of your life allows you to focus on what matters most.

Lately, by not focusing on acquiring things, I find myself with all sorts of free time. I'm working out six days a week, trying new classes that previously I would be scared of, or not have time for. I'm reading every single day. And I'm feeling more creative - with time to document it.

And here I am, doing just that, in this space. I need to get this excitement and spark I feel recorded. When I'm having a moment where I want to take the easy route, this will be my inner voice.

I am no longer a resolution or list person, but this year I wanted to give myself a word to focus on. Mine is presence. Whatever I'm doing it, I want to be all there. I owe it to life. I want to notice the little things, feel it all. And I will always, always stop to smell the roses.

CREATING A CAPSULE WARDROBE FOR FALL

By now, you know I love a good capsule wardrobe. I always create one for when I travel. It involves planning out the least amount of pieces that will create the greatest amount of options, while minimizing the amount of space used in my suitcase.

It works pretty brilliantly for travel, but I never thought to create one for my own closet, and what I wear day to day. I had a lightbulb moment when I revisited a line that, to be honest, never appealed to me before. Often stereotyped as something for ladies my mother's age, I ended up finding tons of versatile pieces from Eileen Fisher that can be mixed and matched all season long. Cheap, no. But well built, and tailored to perfection, yes. They just feel good on your skin.

Fall is a time of big wardrobe buying for me. With the climate I live in, I can get wear out of the pieces I buy this time of year almost year round. I tend to spend a lot now, save a bundle when you might be buying cutoffs and sandals.

This season, I decided to limit myself to a certain number of pieces that can be mixed to create an outfit for every need. That magic number for me? 30. You probably have some of these pieces in your closet already, and you can use those to build your own capsule for fall.

I could create enough outfits to last me months with these 30 pieces, but here are a few to get you inspired.

Our Home - Planning A Dining Area

There's no way to describe the main living area of Casa Seventeenth & Irving than awkwardly large. While I rejoice at the amount of square footage we have compared to the typical San Francisco apartment, the living area has been an impossible to solve puzzle since the day we moved in.

I drew up a little floor plan so you can get an idea of what I mean. It's a mind-boggling 20' long by 13'3" wide. But a good 3' of that 20' depth is virtually unusable, since it functions as the main traffic area to our dining room, kitchen, and entry hall that leads to the bedroom, bathroom, and front door.

When we first moved in, I had my desk area in the lower right corner of the living area, facing the wall. I quickly learned that I hated facing a wall while working. About 3 months of that, I turned my desk to face the entry hall, but left it in the same space. I continued working like that for a good 2 years.

One day, in the dead of our San Francisco "summer" which is actually a cold, foggy, miserable few months, I realized that corner of our apartment is not only the coldest it's also the darkest. No wonder I was hitting a slump daily, trying to keep myself awake! We have East facing windows in the living area, so while it's nice first thing in the morning, by midday it gets fairly dark in there. And, if it's foggy, the light is non-existent.

I took on a bigger job around that time, and I asked Mr. S&I if he would mind if I took over the dining area. We moved my desk and immediately, my work productivity increased. I have a giant window behind me (I face those two closets) and a large light fixture overhead providing bright light. I've been happily working in our former dining room ever since.

We pushed our existing dining table and chairs to that sad bottom right corner. It is still so dark, cramped, and awkward feeling that we barely use it. The table and chairs are just too large for the area, and the darkness wasn't working. Result? Binge watching House of Cards while eating at our coffee table far more often than I would like to admit.

The former designer in me couldn't let this go. I want a comfy space to eat and enjoy the meals we love making together. I want a solution to this awkward corner of my home. It is the first wall space you see when you walk into our place, and I want it to make an impact.

I came across the image at the top of this post in my inspiration files and suddenly, I had an idea. Why not build out a cozy dining corner?

I think it's important to begin every project with a plan - if you don't, you'll find yourself buying random things to fill the spot, that you'll never be happy with, and you end up replacing them. "Buy the best, and you'll only cry once" is now my motto (thanks Miles Redd) as even I'm guilty of purchasing filler pieces I end up regretting.

Armed with this plan, I'm determined to get this area built out in time for the holidays. We've put so many things around the house on hold while saving for the wedding, but afterwards, I'm looking forward to making some of these long awaited improvements.

Since that area is so dark, I'm on the lookout for a large fixture that is appropriate for low ceilings while still providing lots of light. Something like this to bring that sparkly brightness. I also want it to be transparent, so that it doesn't cover too much of the large piece of textile art we just purchased. I'm looking forward to having that reflective lucite to bounce light off of, and at 60" x 60" it will help take up a lot of real estate on an awkward wall.

I've been hoarding about 10 yards of charcoal velvet for the last year that I got at a warehouse sale, and I've finally found its perfect use. I plan to work with a local upholsterer to build out a banquette that we can anchor to that corner. I love the leggy look of the inspiration photo, but I want to add some extra storage and plan to panel out the front to match the original doors of our home.

Do you like banquette seating? I think it will feel cozy, and it's a great space saver if you don't have room for a proper dining area. I'm going to push a small round pedestal table up against the banquette, and add these two vintage chairs I just scored to the outside edges.

One corner down, many more to go. I can't wait to share the finished photos with you.

Going To Greece

I'm currently trying to wrap my head around everything I will need to pack for the crazy amount of time I will be traveling starting in September. I'll need a month of clothes for Georgia, everything for the wedding, and then a suitcase for two weeks of honeymooning through Greece & Italy.Can I just skip all of the other tedious stuff and go straight to the wedding and immediately to beach frolicking right after, please?I've been stocking up on a few things to get me through my trip - a hat for my pale San Franciscan skin, a tunic to cover up and protect my shoulders, and a new suit that I think is very French girl chic. These sandals are making the rounds on Pinterest because they truly are "shout it from the rooftops" comfy, and perfect for going to the beach or tromping cobblestone streets. I never travel without a giant tote, this time I have a lovely monogrammed version with my new initials to take with me thanks to my friend Mere.We're planning to make stops in Athens, Paros, Mykonos, then on to Italy where we're still working out an itinerary. Suggestions? Shops to shop, places to eat, things to see? Have you been? This is a huge bucket list check for me so I want to see it allllll.

Another Year

Yesterday was my 31st birthday, and with all that's going on right now, it was incredibly low key.

31 feels odd.

I could wrap my head around 30. Sure, I had plenty of sweat inducing panics in my 29th year about the big 3-0, but when it came, I was happy to see it. The promise of a new decade, along with some exciting things like an engagement, a new job, and a wedding to plan made it seem....tackle-able if you know what I mean?

And now, with less than 2 months until the wedding, I'm trying to figure out what 31 will look like. Here's what I know:

I'll get married.

I'll go to Greece & Italy (bucket list for yeeeeears).

I'll change my last name.

And then?

Unlike years past, I think I'm okay with just letting this year happen. I'm a go-getter and tend to set big goals and lists for myself with checkboxes to tick off. But one of the best lessons I've learned this year is to make to-do's for the important tasks that actually need them, but the bigger things like life goals, experiences, dreams? Don't force it.

If I held myself to the impossible "life plan" I mapped out for myself around 21? Without going into too much detail, I'm certain I would be miserable. But I still have to gut check myself on this often.

My only plan this year is to just be happy. Happy in the present, happy with all that I'm fortunate to experience, and just really live.

Move Right In | House & Home's Suzanne Dimma

If I could only pick one shelter magazine to continue reading for the rest of my life, hands down, it's the Canadian publication House & Home with editor Suzanne Dimma at the helm. Y'all. Suzanne just GETS me. I'm certain if we met we would be fast friends, bonding over our shared love of grey, navy, and white.

If you haven't seen House & Home, their iPad version is fantastic and ridiculously affordable. I usually prefer the feel of paper in my hands, but their app is well designed and makes saving inspiration photos like these to my files as easy as a screen shot.

If I had my way, I would happily move into her basement she just finished renovating. I mean, look at this place. This is what I mean when I say neutrals don't have to be boring. There's a definite limit of color palette here, but may prints, textures, and statement pieces to keep it intriguing.

Hello Blog, My Old Friend

What is there to be said when you abandon a space you once loved for 227 days? Obviously, not much of an excuse. But enough people have emailed me that I thought it was worth posting about, for those of you that do still check in, and that are curious.

Simply put, I've been blogging in some shape or form since 2003, and I was tired. What originally gave me a place to be inspired, to look forward to, to make great friends off, became a chore. A funny thing happens when you have a couple of posts go viral - it's exciting because FINALLY you feel like it's paid off to see people enjoying the work you created.

But that's the very opposite of what happened.

Rather than this being a positive, happy space for me, it became a place where I was constantly having to let criticism roll off my back. You can only let so much criticism roll off.

"Your clothes are boring, try some color."

"There is no way you pack like that, you must be doing this just for show."

"Who dresses like this?"

And while those who know me well know that I am actually true to my word, taste, and preference for neutrals (and I'm a pretty damn good suitcase packer, too) those who don't were really starting to get me down.

I tip my hat to the big time, multi million page view bloggers who hourly handle these people who spout off so easily on the internet what I am certain they would never say to someone's face. I am not built that way.

But here I am, and I am reclaiming this as MY space. I may or may not post regularly, and I will not make any promises.

I kindly ask that if you don't like what you see, move right along. I'll be blogging for me, and this girl is open to constructive criticism but I will not stand for meanness.

What To Get Girls This Year

It should go without saying I would take one of anything on this list - so if you're reading, dear fiancé, I'm making it easy for you this year.

Whether you're shopping for your mom, sister, or best friend, I always say a good rule of thumb is to get them something that's either a little nicer than things they would buy for themselves. Cocktails For A Crowd - Eggnog by Serving Seconds

When it comes to batch cocktails, nothing beats a giant batch of traditional holiday eggnog.

But I have a confession - I've only had store bought eggnog in my life, and I claimed to be an eggnog hater.

That is, until my friend Melissa over at Serving Seconds brought over a batch of her homemade eggnog. Spiked with a touch of bourbon and topped with fresh whipped cream and shaved nutmeg, it is creamy and decadent but not too sweet.

I may not be a parent yet - but I abide by the golden rule when giving gifts to kids - for the sake of parents sanity everywhere, nothing that makes noise, requires batteries, or takes hours to put together.

I also like to encourage creativity, so I love toys that encourage kids to come up with their own stories and adventures. Fun playhouses, art sets, or books that teach them about cool cities they might want to travel to someday.

COCKTAILS FOR A CROWD - APPLE ROSEMARY PUNCH

If you're having guests over, it's just the worst when you're stuck playing bartender. I'm always on the hunt for a great batch cocktail that you can make ahead of time, and simply pour in a glass once your guests arrive.

Having some houseguests recently, I got to play around with a few recipes, and this one was a clear winner. This serves about 10 generous pours, so double or triple based on your guest count - I can promise they'll want more than one glass.

APPLE ROSEMARY PUNCH

6 cups fresh apple cider (no added sugar)
1/2 cup of rosemary simple syrup
Juice of 1 lemon
1 bottle of sparkling wine - a sweet prosecco works well

Combine the first three ingredients in a large pitcher or punch bowl. Save the prosecco until right before your guests arrive - you want it to be bubbly, not flat. If you plan to serve throughout the evening, just top off each glass with a generous pour of the prosecco.

For extra credit - I froze a few pomegranate arils in ice cubes. They add a nice holiday color to the glass.

WHAT TO GET GUYS THIS YEAR

Men. They are HARD to shop for, am I right? I start hassling the men in my life for gift ideas starting in October since I know it will take them that long to come up with even one little idea. For my husband-to-be, I've just given up on asking him. Instead, I wait for those little casual hints, come up with something fun for us to do - the experience gift, or I just buy a nicer version of something than he might buy himself.

I think that's a good route to take - the nicer than they might pick for themselves. We gals think nothing of dropping $25 dollars on quality hair care products, but for men? No sir. But a funny thing happens when you either just place it in their medicine cabinet or gift it to them.

"I like this new stuff you got. I mean, it's a little better than the old stuff I guess."

(It's always "stuff.")

Wow, can you believe it's the second day of December already?

It seems like just yesterday fall started, and now here we are on a lightning fast race towards Christmas.

It's been a bit quiet around here, but since I absolutely adore the holidays - they're my favorite! - I've got lots of things planned for you this month.

ONE | Though it's not quite fall these days around San Francisco, I've been stocking up on fall and winter sweaters with all of the great sales. You see, while you're breaking out your leather and ankle boots, we're finally getting our long awaited summer - in September & October! I'm patiently waiting until the day I can wear this leather elbow patch sweater without breaking a sweat. TWO | Since getting engaged, I've become a bit obsessed with all things monogrammed. But I hate the stuffy styles of many items on the market. THREE | It's no secret my love of neutrals extends to homegoods. When I saw this nesting bowl set, I just had to pick it up. LONG WEEKEND PLANS

It's Wednesday, friends, which means we are halfway there to a glorious three day weekend.

Are you doing anything special for the Labor Day holiday? Sending out the summer with a bang?

I'm planning on taking a road trip in a convertible down Highway 1 to LA with this gal and two other ladies. We've all agreed that we'll have no set agenda...just stop where we see something gorgeous, and enjoy the journey.

After months of busy busy busy, plan plan plan, my soul needs a trip like this.

Of course, that doesn't mean I haven't been thinking about the perfect things to wear and pack.

When sitting in a car for eight plus hours, comfort is key, so I'm planning on keeping it casual but pulled together with a basic tank and stretchy pants.

Sunglasses, a hat, sunscreen, and lip balm to keep the sun at bay, because let's face it...I just hit 30 and there will be zero wrinkles allowed from this point further.

I'm throwing in a Turkish towel like this one - it makes a perfect beach towel, picnic blanket, or gives extra warmth should it get windy along the drive.

No road trip is complete without snacks...I try to bring along something a little more healthy than the average gas station fare. And while I can't read in the car without feeling a little woozy (hi, I'm still a child) I'm bringing along my Kindle for a little beach reading.

And don't you dare try to bring a giant suitcase on a road trip. Keep it easy in the most perfect weekender bag I've found.

MOVE RIGHT IN | STINSON BEACH HOUSE

Stinson Beach, though only 20 miles or so from San Francisco, sometimes feels a world away.

For one, it actually gets warm at that beach, unlike the one 2.5 miles from my house that's nice and windy.

The drive to get there is jaw-dropping, winding down Highway 1, feeling like you're in a car commercial with all of the twists and turns.

Though it's not very far from the city, it feels like a vacation. And this home by WA Design? Reason enough to pack your bags permanently.

BREAKS, BIRTHDAYS, AND BIG NEWS

Oh, hi there.

Has it really been two months since we last talked?

If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram, you know life has been a bit of a whirlwind lately.

First, I got promoted - yay!

Second, I got really busy at work after being promoted - hence the blog break.

Next, I took a nice vacation to Florida with my family where I finally got to meet one of my dearest blog friends, Lisa, in person.

Then, I came home and guess what? I got a new job. I've been working very, very hard towards getting a job like this one, so I was thrilled! The bad part? No less busy in wrapping things up at the old one, then jumped right into the next one.

I turned 30. Since I've been so busy, I kept it low key and we went to Point Reyes for a fun weekend where we ate fresh oysters right from the water. We drank champagne, ate expensive cheese, and enjoyed the scenery.

But that's not the biggest news.

In case you haven't heard by now - I got engaged on that lovely trip to Florida! I'm sure you know by now that I love to have everything planned down to the last detail, but I managed to be very surprised by this one. We hadn't even looked at rings! In a way, I'm glad, because it made it even more special to be totally blown away. He's a sneaky one.

Needless to say, the last two months have been a bit of a joyous cloud, celebrating with friends and just not wanting to return back to normal life. But then I realized...this is my life. And who's to say what's normal anyway? I'll just keep floating in this happiness, but know that I am back to a regular routine, which includes much more in store for you here.
