Patty Pants Cloth Diapers - Review

My love for Patty Pants Cloth Diapers runs deep. Real deep.
Addison is a very heavy wetter and I'm able to use these awesome hybrid
fitteds at night and she wakes up nice and dry.

That almost sounds like no big deal... but if you knew the troubles I had
finding a solution to keep her dry for an entire night...
you would probably sing with me.

I have a few of the older style Patty Pants fitteds as well, and they all are great at keeping her dry,

but the new hybdrids are without a doubt my favorite.

The diapers have a middle layer of poly-fleece, which will allow you to go without

a cover for a longer period of time, and the inner is a super soft cotton velour.

You can see in the photo how long the insert is so that it can be doubled over.

The best part? The insert has snaps on both sides;

one side has fleece and the other cotton velour

so that you can pick and choose the side you prefer to be against your baby's skin.

In between those top and bottom layers are multiple layers of zorb.

Personally, I always have the fleece side touching her skin to keep the moisture

away from her skin at night and allowing her to sleep just a tiny bit longer in the morning.

(I also put either a wool or fleece cover over the diapers at night.)

It has been our bulletproof night solution.

The fitteds are really trim and the knit outer, on these pictured,

allow them to stretch nicely for a perfect fit.

I also really love how the knit holds up after washing.

And did I mention how soft and squishy these diapers are?

I can't help but to hug them when they arrive in the mail.

Elfie {Days Five & Six}

I'm just going to go ahead and start with day six because Ethan
and I had a ridiculous amount of fun with this one.
Throw in a little wine for me and some beer for him and we were giggling
like little girls at a slumber party and fist bumping each other with each new idea.

Doesn't he just look so cute in his tub? Ha!

We decided it wouldn't be a real bathtub without a shower curtain...

so before I knew it Ethan was MacGyvering a rod out of a clothes hanger

and I got to work making the curtain out of saran wrap and pipe cleaners.

Throw a loofa in his hand and a shower cap on his head and we were good to go.

The kids loved it but Aidyn was a little disappointed Elfie used Addison's rubber ducky

to play with instead of one of his own. Figures.

Clearly the creative juices {and wine} were not flowing on day five

and we just hid Elfie somewhere, anywhere, to watch over the kids for the day.

Can you see him?

Elfie {Day Four}

We found Elfie making snow angels in the kitchen this morning.
Making a mess of the kitchen... again.

How could we be upset when he was looking so spiffy and cute
in his new scarf and ear muffs?!

I don't know how anyone can find those big blue eyes that follow

you every.single.step around the house creepy. No, he's not creepy.

He's cute and I'll continue to tell myself that.

Elfie {Day Three}

Aidyn was still half asleep when he sat up and said, "I need to go find Elfie!"
He was super excited to see him dangling from the fan... with the fan spinning on low.
Addison just giggled.

I'm not exactly sure what Elfie was up to.
Extreme bungee jumping? Some sort of carnival ride?
Maybe a mission impossible?

We'll never know with that crazy elf.

Elfie {Day Two}

Day 2 and Elfie is back to his regular mischief.

Aidyn forgot about him coming again, so Ethan had to stand in the dining room to try to catch his attention.
As soon as he saw him, he thought it was hilarious, and immediately came running in to my bedroom to tell me about all the funny things Elfie drew on all the photos.

Addison likes to find Elfie, stand in front of him pointing, and repeat, "WOAH!" in her deepest
voice. She's a fan of Elfie and his antics. ;)

Elfie showed up a bit fashionably late this year. He's a high maintenance little fella.
Aidyn went crazy with excitement when he saw that he arrived...
and was somewhat amazed that his other toys joined in on the fun.
Maybe that amazement was terror?
I'm not positive.

Addison, on the other hand, just wanted to get her chubby little hands on whatever
she could on the counter and demolish it all.
That's just how she rolls.

DIY Ghost Glasses

Halloween is a big deal around this house for my son, so we've already started to pull
out some of our decorations for him and I wanted to make some new things for him as well.

I was shopping around online and found some cute ghost glasses, but since I already had black paint
for glass, I figured it would be cheaper to make my own.

Here is everything I used. That's it. Easy peasy project.

2 glasses from the dollar store

Paint brush

Americana Glass Enamels paint in Black

It took maybe 15 minutes to paint on the black circles

and then I baked them in the oven for 30 minutes at 325 degrees.

Done!

I had one super excited Kindergartner when he came

home and found these glasses waiting for him!

A very proud Kindergartner!

Who may have thought I was a little ridiculous taking picture...

....after picture...

all the way down to the bus stop.

But I'm so glad I captured these precious moments.

The excitement and wonder is just written all over his face.

Talking on the phone with his Dad... who was just as emotional as I was

about his first day!

And then the bus came. And I wanted to grab Aidyn, throw him over my shoulder, and run away with him.

Instead, I cried like a baby watching him leave.

Happy 1st Day of Kindergarten, Aidyn!

Aidyn starts school in 2 weeks exactly.

Just the thought of him leaving on the bus for Kindergarten gives me a headache.

I'm so excited for him, but just the thought of my baby leaving me

is enough to overwhelm me with tears and a whole lot of emotions

I don't even know how to deal with right now.

Him? No big deal.

He's cool with it.

He's off to learn his alphabet and those cool "number things" we've been working on.

I told him how much I'm going to miss him while he's gone and he gave me a big hug and told me,

"Don't worry. You're the best teacher ever."

He knows just what to say to his mama. :)

Even though I get all choked up thinking about him leaving,

we're having a blast shopping for school.

Shopping always cheers me up. For realsies.

Today we went out and picked out a few more things;

awesome new Star Wars backpack, fall jacket, shirts... so many shirts,

and a couple sweatshirts.

He's really rockin' his new duds, huh?

We really lucked out today and found a ton of sales at the outlets.

There's just something so satisfying about saving so much money on necessary items.

The only thing I haven't shopped for yet is items to fill his backpack.

Juppy Baby Walker {Giveaway}

Addison just turned one on July 17. We had her birthday party on June 30
(to put a little distance between her party and her brother's)
and the morning we started to set up she decided to start standing all by herself.
Just like that.
No assistance at all.
She did it all day, and I thought for sure she would soon start walking,
but she hasn't taken more than a few steps.

She does like to walk all over the place with our assistance though,
and I'm telling you, after having kids my back will never be the same.
Constantly bending over to hold her hands while she walked around was really starting to get painful.

Thankfully, we were sent this awesome Juppy Baby Walker.

It's so easy to use and has been such a lifesaver for my back.
I unzip the back, slide her legs in, adjust the straps to my length, and
on her way she goes.

I really think since using it her confidence has really built up because
she's been starting to take her 3 little steps more and more often.
I can just see it on her face that she's determined to take more and more on her own.

It's a nice touch and now I don't have to worry about mixing mine up with someone else's.

Story Land {Local New Hampshire | New England Giveaway}

Some of my earliest memories growing up are of my parents surprising me with vacations

and day trips somewhere fun. Story Land {located in Glen, NH} was an annual trip

we would take and it was always so exciting when my parents would start planning our visit.

Sometimes we would go just for a day, and other times we would go up for a

week or a weekend and stay at a local motel or cabin.

{You cannot leave Story Land without taking your picture with Humpty Dumpty first!}

Since my son was born, we've been carrying on the tradition and visiting every year with him.

It still amazes me that I'm sharing the same memories with him (and now Addison!) that my parents

shared with me.... and it makes me feel super old! ;)

The best part of Story Land is that it really is great for all ages.

For the optimum experience, the park is best suited for children ages 2-12, but just from looking

at the site there are eleven rides that Addison can go on with me and/or Ethan and

Aidyn is old enough/tall enough to go on every ride by himself!

Those eleven rides are more than enough to keep Addison occupied during the day and

when Aidyn is on the bigger kid rides, Addison can visit some of my favorite places, like; Woman in the Shoe, the Three Bears House {pictured above} and Granny's Cottage.

Grandfather Tree is a big deal around this house. Aidyn talks about it all the time.

When he was old enough to go up by himself, we would often have to go up and get him

because he was too scared to go down by himself. Now, he doesn't even give us a second glance as he heads up the tree and goes down the slide.

We haven't told Aidyn yet when we'll be going to Story Land this year, but since he does know that

we go every year, he's been planning out his trip for weeks. Every time we go to the grocery store he stops and grabs a brochure and points out all the areas he wants to visit first on the map.

We're going to surprise him by not telling him we're going and just pack him up in the car one day

and let him believe we're going grocery shopping.

If you've never been to Story Land before, here are some useful tips;

If you have a dog, there are 26 pet kennels, FREE of charge, and on a first come first serve basis.
Parking is FREE! {And you can leave and come back during the day.}
If you forgot your stroller you can rent one!
There are plenty of places to eat! You can find the 2012 Menu with ingredient list here.
There are ATM's at the park.
Have a blast!!

SodaStream {Review}

Ethan & I were shopping around Target a couple weeks before Father's Day
and we ended up walking through the aisles with all the kitchen gadgets.
Ethan immediately found the SodaStream section and stopped to read the box on the machines
and all the flavor syrups. Right away he told me how cool it would be to have one at home.

Say what?? My hard to shop for husband is making the task of
finding him the perfect Father's Day present easy??
It was such a great gift for him!
He is so hard to shop for and it is so rare for him to make finding a gift easy
and here he was giving me the perfect opportunity to pick out a cool gift for him that I know he would use.

SodaStream sent us the package {pictured above} and Ethan was so excited when it arrived.
We immediately set it up, which takes seconds to screw in the Carbonator bottle, and started playing with the different flavors.

The SodaStream is so easy to use. Our routine has gone like this;

refrigerate a bottle of water so it's nice and cool, screw the bottle onto the machine,

hit the button on top 3-4 times to carbonate the water, and then pour a cap

full of the flavored syrup slowly into the bottle.

My only trouble is that I have been known to make a mess trying

to pour the syrup into the bottle. I could seriously use a little funnel to prevent any messy spills.

If you visit the online store, you'll find so many flavor options-- soda flavors, Crystal Light, Country Time, Sparkling Water Energy Drinks... and so many more. .

Our favorite?

Diet Energy Drink

It tastes so good and saves us so much money making it at home rather

than buying can after can {which are usually around $2.50/can.}

When our Carbonator runs low, we just run to either Target or Walmart to pick up a new one, but there are a few other stores around us that carry their products and there is always the option to buy them online.

So, if you also have a hard to shop for family member, the SodaStream is definitely a great gift!

It's fun to use and saves so much money.

Addison's almost, but not quite, one!

So, we really could have named her party the Very Merry Unbirthday party.

I crack myself up.

Decorating for her party was insanely fun.

We purchased really bright linens and tableware. I covered our photo wall with bright colored

paper and then added some Alice in Wonderland quotes and photos.

We set the kids table up with little gifts to take home.

For the girls, I made White Rabbit necklaces, and for the boys, I made bow ties.

With help from my mom, we made the flower centerpieces from tissue paper, pipe cleaners, floral tape and googly eyes.

I added little Drink Me tags to all the cups with different colored bakers twine.

Above the kids table I hung tissue paper balls and a sweet little key.

Ethan made Addison's cake and it was so good.

He always fills his cakes with buttercream frosting and fresh strawberries.

And he even made Addison her very own little cake.

{Don't you just love her huge grin?? She was LOVING all the attention and everyone singing to her.

She's the happiest little girl I know.}

Which she wasn't too sure of at first.

But it took her no time at all to dig in and have a blast with it.

She was clapping for herself in between tearing the cake apart.

And then we had the photo booth...

It was an amazing day!

I have just been itching to share with you this review and giveaway.

Patty Pants Cloth Diapers sent me a package with all these amazing diapers, flats and covers

weeks ago, and I swear, it was like Christmas morning in my house.

Each diaper/cover/flat was sweetly wrapped in bright paper and ribbon and

my son & I were just giddy opening up each one to see what was inside.

Now, if you haven't heard of them before,

Patty Pants Cloth Diapers is just one of those businesses that I love to love.

A great business goes way beyond having just a quality product;

they care about their customers and care about their experience with their products.

Just stop by the Patty Pants Facebook page once in awhile and I think you'll immediately

pick up on what I'm saying about them.

The Wild Kingdom Onesize Bamboo Velour Fitted is the very first diaper we

unwrapped and it was love.at.first.sight.

I immediately loved the outer bright fabric and it is just so soft but the outer

softness has no comparison to the silky smoothness of the bamboo velour inner.

I had my husband feel the softness and asked him, "Wouldn't you just love a pair of underwear this soft??"

His response, "Uh. No." Which really, in guy talk, means,

"Yes, but I'll never be quoted as saying so on your blog."

Mmhmm. I gotcha. ;)

The inner is 100% bamboo velour and it comes with a snap-in insert. The snap-in insert is filled with a soy fabric and has the bamboo velour outer.

{If you're prepping your new fitted it will need 5-6 washes to fully prep it.}

Addison loves it as well. I think she has a little pep in her crawl when she has it on. ;)

{Don't mind her. She was too busy checking her phone to pose haha.}

It's a onesize fitted so it has snaps to adjust the length but it also has hip snaps to adjust the fit around her legs. It's really a great all around diaper. I put it on her during the day, not usually with a cover, but if we're going out, if she's taking a nap, or going to bed, then I put a cover on top of it. It's a super absorbent diaper.

And these are the super cute covers I've been using over our fitted diapers and flats.

The cover on the left is Antique Quilt and the diaper on the right is Cow Girl.

Are you just dying over the fringe?

It's the little things like that fringe that just make me smile.

Isn't it adorable on?

These are the Patty Flats we've been using.

The T shape makes these so simple to put on and it allows you to fold down the material

for the best fit for your baby. You can pin or snappi these right on.

The Patty Flats have 2 layers of absorbent soy fabric. {A natural fabric that is anti-bacterial, and also contain amino acids, which are great for your skin.}

The tops are made of a really soft fleece that is absorbent and also helps your baby feel dry.

I really really love our Patty Flats. They've taken on a regular role in our nighttime routine recently.

CJ's BUTTer® {Giveaway}

I am so excited to share with you all a product line that was highly recommended to me by so many people. Addison's skin is much more sensitive than any other member of the family, and when she had developed a diaper rash a few months back, I went looking for balms, creams, or solutions I could use that are also cloth diaper friendly. I cannot even begin tell you how many people said,

As soon as I opened the Viva La Juicy though I claimed it as my own instantly. It is by far my favorite scent.

I'm a huge fan of multi-tasking products and CJ's BUTTer® is the queen of multi-taskers. You can use it for; rashes, dry/chapped skin, rug burns, hang nails, add it to your bath to help relieve postpartum soreness, eczema... and these are just some of the ways to use it.

For Addison, I always keep a sample jar at the changing table, and one in my diaper bag, and I rub it on her at every single diaper change. You would be surprised how little of this balm you need to use-- after weeks of using it on her I still have at least half of all the sample jars left. The best part? She hasn't had a single rash since I started using it.

For myself, I use it on my cuticles, my elbows, feet, and my hair! I have naturally curly hair, which means it's naturally dry, and this balm has been a lifesaver on the humid days. I keep the Viva La Juicy in my purse and rub a little through my curls when they start to get out of control.

If you fall in love with a particular scent, they have larger sizes in a 12oz tub! I know for sure Viva La Juicy will definitely be mine in that size! {I'm telling you, you have to smell this one!}

Besides the Original formula, CJ's BUTTer® offers a selection of Body Products and Cleaners. We also tried the Bug Banisher and I am really impressed with it. The mosquitoes are so terrible around us and I really wanted a solution that I could use on the entire family. I pack the bottle up with us whenever we go to my son's T-Ball games, because the fields are just swarmed with the bugs. I spray us all down as soon as we get out of the car and I have noticed a huge difference in the amount of pesky bugs that come near us now. The spray smells like citronella and is an extremely tolerable scent.
