i made these sleeves for a friend, Aisyah using padded hand phone sleeve pattern from Keyka Lou. the difference is, i didn't make the dart and i like it more that way. dart-less

the sleeve came with external pocket at the back, and slit buttons as per Aisyah's request.

they're on their way to u Aisyah, i hope you'll like them

suddenly i'm in the mood of making different things from my normal projects. made a wrist rest for my own use, since i'm so paranoid about this carpal tunnel syndrome. and also, the ladies from 1H1P & GMJC are so into pin cushions now i couldn't help myself but to try making one for myself. okay, i didn't made just one, i made six of them last night to be given away today.

the flower pin cushion, for myself

the wrist rest set, one for the keyboard and another small one for the mouse

high quality cotton string

i bought these strings because i love the colors, vibrant and soothing, something different from the normal black or white color cotton strings i have before. i'm using the strings for my drawstring bags (few sizes for make-up, for telekung and round pouch)

if you're interested of buying the strings, i'm selling them at RM1.80 per meter.

for now i have only 5 colors: green, pink, blue, mustard & turqoise

a quick update before the long post:

knitting journey: i now know another method of casting on, the long tail method. my guru taught me during my last bazaar and also from youtube

new items: managed to sew sample set for handphone pouch (photo), pleated clutch, and few bags

workshop: attended a book binding workshop, organized by Little Syam (long post coming up). made my first book, from scratch and tried making another one with additional accessory, button. loved it.

bazaar: i Love bazaar is around the corner, don't forget to come by to Subang Parade (Level 1) this Saturday. my booth will be in front of Sasa shop from 11am till 9am. and Sewfabby will be there until 9am, so take your time but DO come and i hope you'll find something that suits you at my booth.

cosmo bag: yup, i finished it way before the due date because i wanted to bring it back to ipoh. the original size is huge. huge enough to be my overnighter. will write an entry about that too

one of my sewing group is now organizing a sew along project for cosmo bag, designed by amy butler. Ruzila Kasim started it and phew! rupanya ada ramai yang berminat nak jahit bag ni. as for myself, my story with this bag is ermm quite upsetting.

i bought this book soon after i read about it at kak Rozi's blog. but then, i had problem understanding the steps as there are not many pictures in it and perlu berangan di situ untuk faham all the steps. i even went to a class, but my two hour session was spent only for cutting the fabrics, and i was so lazy to go back there for another two hour session of ironing. so, i kept the book and didn't go back again.

you can google 'amy butler cosmo bag' to see photos of cosmo bags.

but here's one that i like, from Made by Rozi Rahman

so lovelies, i've cut all the fabrics i need for the bag.

and i'll start sewing tonight, with hope that i can finish it within few hours.

and bring it back to kampung tomorrow.

we (Sewfabby & Made by Rozi Rahman) had our first bazaar last 14 & 15th, as we're still new in this bazaar thingy we decided to try a few places to check out the crowd and to find our niche.

my DIY chalk board, we made this few days before the market, and i patched the board with fabric scraps. good way to use every single inch of my fabrics.

our booth, located near to the stage. they had few artist (indi) performing on that day, young singers & rappers. didn't quite like it, i'm getting old....

during previous market, i tagged along with my friends from gmj club.
for 2012, i decided to get myself a partner, Rozi from Made by Rozi Rahman.
so lovelies, you will be seing us together at moreeee bazaar after this :)

and most importantly, a big fat hug for our readers who stopped by our booth. it meant a lot to me, knowing that people do read my blog, and still reading my dusty personal blog.

as at january 2012, my knitting skill is 0.5%

or maybe less than that?

i only know how to cast on, and knit stitch

kak Rozi taught me the knit stitch and i learned to cast-on from youtube

so, for now i'm still practicing on how to control my fingers while knitting,

figuring out which way is the most comfortable one

and my stitches are still here and there, some tight, some loose, some are straight, some gone.

that's for now, january 9 2012.

by the way, cantik kan my knitting needles?

bought them from kak Rozi when she got a few sets for sale last year

love the colorful needles, each color represent the needle size, so it's easy to remember

Assalamualaikum lovelies,

It's the first day of 2012, and now only I got the time to post an entry here.

2011 was a great year for Sewfabby

i met new friends with same hobbies, who are willing to share a lot of things

i tried joining markets, the first was during last october at jaya one

we didn't made it to the second one as i was down with fever

but my friends from GMJ helped to set up the booth and kept it running throughout the day without me being there

As for 2012, more markets to come :)

And may Allah bless us, in terms of more exposure and business opportunities

bought a rack from ikea during the weekend and so happy with the purchase.

i was considering a box previously, so store all my fabrics. but the price of 3 boxes were pretty much the same as the rack so why not just take this one instead, and whenever i feel like adding more buckets i can just buy the antonius frame and hook it to the current frame.

now my sewing area is more organized, and the fabrics are properly arranged according to their sizes.

brought home more new fabrics too for my art market items :)
