I'm a sucker for romance. I love movies where boy meets girl, boy loses girl and, against all odds, they find their way back to each other. Or films about star-crossed lovers, as in Bridges of Madison County, who return to their separate lives forever changed.

In real life, though, I have learned to be wary of my own longing to be swept away. It's fun being pursued by an ardent admirer and flattering to be wined and dined in style. But after a few months I ask myself if all this attention leads to anything more than a romp (or two) in bed.

In spite of changing times men are still the hunters - they like to give chase and use all their wiles to win the women they desire. They may want to develop a long-term relationship but sometimes it's the thrill of the chase they enjoy most of all.

Women, on the other hand, can be lured by romance itself. We want the whole fantasy - usually in the form of an attractive, charismatic man who is more successful than us - and that includes "happily ever after."

In a new relationship we believe a man when he claims to miss us and how he'll do anything to keep us in his life. If we are physically intimate with him, those potent love chemicals (like pheromones) kick in, making him even more desirable. We offer him our bodies and our hearts. If things have moved too quickly, we may find that the man we are starting to love is no knight. If he wears armour, it is to protect himself, and as complications arise he may very well jump on his horse and ride away.

In the grips of romance, it is easy to be lured by extravagant outings or gifts. However, a man who constantly tries to impress is usually insecure and unable to connect at a deeper level. One day the novelty of getting to know each other will fade and you will be left with each other. What becomes important is how likable your man really is and how honestly you can communicate with each other.

For me romance can only last if I perceive my partner as a confident and considerate person whom I can trust. He must prove that he cares by his actions, whether he calls just to hear the sound of my voice or makes time for me in his hectic schedule.

With the right man, I feel loved and appreciated - and that's fertile ground for romance.

The bible is clear on fornication, so the answer is not to concede to the pressure or act on these thoughts when they come. Though the answer is straight forward and clear, the situation doesn't just vanish overnight. The decision to abstain from sex until marriage needs to be followed through and steps taken to ensure one does not concede. It can be a trying moment especially for ladies but it won't last for long.

Sometimes we feel very isolated or believe our situation is an isolated case, but the truth is that it isn't. It is very possible that there are a thousand and one individuals in exactly the same situation but the 'holy art thou' attitude help shield our troubled souls. Your maturity and how much of the bible you know would determine your cause of action. But here are a few suggestions depending on where the pressure is coming from:

Phone-a-friend. Find a trustworthy friend you can talk to and share your heart, one who would not despise your thought or try to cast out demons from you. If you are in a bible believing church, seek out one of the elders you can share you burden with and receive godly counsel.
It might not be as easy as working out of the relationship if the pressure if from your fiancé. He may be passing though a hard time and under pressure. He might need help and counsel as well. You would be in a better position to help him by speaking 'the friend' to give him godly counsel.
A simple medical examination to ascertain you fertility and potency could take of the pressure and restore confidence. It is advisable however, that you take a test before getting married, pressure or no pressure.
If the pressure is from parents, confronting them and quoting bible passages may not be the best way to go about it. What would probably work out better is you lie low for a while, pray and trust God to change their hearts to accept your decisions even if they don't agree. It would be ideal to marry with the blessings of your parents even if they are not Christians. Running off and getting married on an island won't so the trick.
In the case where you mind is playing games on you, you may need to have a heart-to-heart talk with your fiancé and let him know your concerns. You don't want to be engaged for 10 years still waiting to get married. Talk things out and if the situation doesn't improve revert to phone-a-friend.

Don't underestimate the power of prayers. Whatever steps you take you must seek God's face and guidance. Study the bible and find scriptures about your situation and stand on them. Confess them daily and let them be a part of you. Be in the midst of godly people that would encourage you and build your faith. It won't last for long.

Many people who wait to live with someone until they are married are religious. As the Bible says, you should not live with someone unless you are married. You should not have sex unless you are married. But again, in our society, there are few virgins left. Our generation loses their virginity in their early teens. So this does not really apply to us anymore. Couples are still having sex whether they are living together or not.

Couples who live together often say that they do this prior to marriage because they want to see if their partner and they will really fit together... to get to really know them. So, they live together. I was once told by someone who is married, "You will never really know the other person until you live with them". This is so true. Now many people say, especially religious persons, that you do not need to live with a person, all you have to do is spend a lot of time together. Although I do see some sense in this, it is still a very big issue that a lot of people wear masks while dating. They may keep these masks on for years. So even if you date someone for 5 years, they may still turn out to be someone totally different once you marry.

In my opinion, which is based on observing so many different relationships, both married, living together and dating, I have come to realize that it may be good to live together before marriage. I mean, who would be proud of saying that they have been married 5 times because they got married at a young age and it did not work out, so they got married over and over again? Of course, marriage is a great thing, if you are ready for it. It all just depends on who you are, you values and background and where you are in life. To each his own.

Risiko penyakit lainnya yang diprediksi bisa muncul dalam jangka waktu 10 tahun dengan intensitas penggunaan yang sering adalah glioma atau tumor otak (60 persen), tumor kelenjar ludah (50 persen), migrain dan vertigo (10-20 persen).Pada tahun 2008, parlemen di Eropa pernah melakukan resolusi untuk mengembangkan radiasi ponsel yang lebih kecil namun aturan itu hingga kini belum bisa diaplikasikan. Untuk itu, satu-satunya langkah mengurangi radiasi tersebut adalah dengan menjauhkannya sebisa mungkin dengan organ tubuh.

"Sebaiknya gunakan speaker daripada mendekatkan ponsel ke telinga. Jarak otak dan telinga yang dekat akan membuat radiasinya cepat masuk ke otak. Menggunakan speaker bisa menjauhkan jarak radiasi hingga 15 inci dan mengurangi RF ke otak hingga 1/225th," ujar Dr. Andrew Weil seperti dilansir Huffington Post, Senin (12/10/2009).
Selain itu, Andrew pun menyarankan agar:

Setelah studi yang menyebutkan penggunaan ponsel membuat anak rentan kanker, kini sebuah studi yang digagas oleh Cleveland Clinic kembali memperkuat bahwa radiasi ponsel juga bikin sperma loyo.

Sebelumnya, Cleveland Clinic juga pernah melakukan studi serupa yang menyatakan kaum lelaki yang menghabiskan waktu berjam-jam melakukan panggilan via ponsel memiliki resiko penurunan jumlah sperma.

Kini studi lanjutan mencoba mengambil sampelsperma dari 32 subjek dan didekatkan 2,5cm dengan ponsel yang mengeluarkan sinyal. Jarak tersebut disimulasikan berdasarkan kebiasaan pria yang mengantongi ponselnya dimana jaraknya dekat alat kelamin mereka.

"Karena banyak orang menggunakan handsfree untuk arena isu kesehatan dan radiasi, namun kini lebih penting lagi untuk dipelajari dan memberikan pengertian bahwa sinyal radiasi yang paling besar adalah sumbernya yang diletakkan menempel dengan anggota tubuh mereka yang lain," ujar Dr Edmund Sabanegh, salah satu tim periset seperti dikutip detikINET dari Vnunet, Rabu (24/9/2008).

Lebih lanjut dijelaskan, sperma tersebut diekspos dengan sinyal frekuensi 850MHz selama satu jam dan memperlihatkan penurunan vitalitas yaitu penurunan jumlah antioksidan pada sperma yang mempengaruhi kegesitan serta kelaelangsungan hidup sperma menjadi jauh lebih pendek."Ini merupakan penemuan baru, walau kita menggunakan sampel yang sedikit tapi kini kita bisa mengembangkan studi lebih lanjut terkait dengan hasil yang telah ditemukan," tandas Dr Sabanegh.

The Human Papillomavirus (pap a LOW mah virus) or HPV is a large family of viruses containing over 60 types.

Other strains can cause genital warts, or lead to cervical dysplasia, which are irregular cells on the cervix that can lead to a precancerous or cancerous condition. The strain of HPV that causes genital warts is not the same as the one that causes common warts. Genital warts can appear on the cervix, vulva (external female genitals), in or around the vagina or penis, on the scrotum, in or around the anus/rectum, on the groin (where genitals meet the inner thigh), or in the eye or eyelid, nose, mouth or throat (from oral sex transmission). HPV is the most common sexually transmitted infection (STI) in the United States.
Hepatitis C Virus (HCV):
Hepatitis is a disease that affects the liver. There are 5 types, identified by letters A through E. Hepatitis C is the liver disease caused by the hepatitis C virus (HCV), found only in the blood of persons with this disease. Hepatitis C is the most common chronic (persistent/long-term) blood-borne infection in the US. Blood-borne means it can only be transmitted by blood, not through the air or from an object like a toilet seat. This challenges questions and dispels myths about Hepatitis C.
Chancroid:
Chancroid is a bacterial infection that causes painful sores. An easily transmitted STI, chancroid is caused by a bacteria named Haemophilus Ducreyi [hum-AH-fill-us DOO-cray]. It causes ulcers (usually on the genitals) and swollen, painful lymph glands on one or both sides of the groin. Chancroid is very common in Africa, and is becoming more common in Western countries, including the US.
Crabs & Scabies:
Pubic lice (“crabs”) and scabies are tiny parasites or “bugs” that live on the outside of the human body and that cause intense itching. Pubic lice can live on pubic and other coarse body hair. They can be seen by the naked eye or with a magnifying glass and look like tiny crabs. Scabies cannot be seen without a microscope. Both can be transmitted through close physical contact, including sexual contact, since they can move from the coarse hair (pubic area, eyelashes, eyebrows, facial hair, chest, or armpits -- not usually head hair) of the infected person to the coarse hair of another person. Nonsexual transmission is possible by sleeping in an infested bed, using infested towels, or wearing infested clothing.
Genital Itching, Discomfort:
Among the most common symptoms that accompany a sexually transmitted infection (STI) are itching, discomfort (particularly when urinating), and bumps that did not previously appear on the genitals. At the same time, however, these can all be symptoms of non-sexually transmitted infections. No one can diagnose themselves, nor can anyone be diagnosed over the phone or internet. Anyone experiencing any of these symptoms should make an appointment to see their healthcare provider.
Genital Herpes:
There are 2 types of herpes simplex viruses (HSV). Type I (HSV I) usually appears as cold sores or fever blisters on the lips, face & mouth. Type II (HSV II) most often involves sores on the genital area. Both types can occur, however, in the genitals, mouth or both. Most people get oral herpes during childhood by a simple kiss from a friend or family member. HIV and AIDS:
"HIV" stands for "Human Immunodeficiency Virus", a virus that destroys the cells that fight infection in the human body. When a person has HIV, certain infections that the body could usually fight off lead to much more serious health problems, and even death. HIV is the virus that leads to AIDS, the Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome. HIV is transmitted through infected blood, semen, vaginal fluids, and breast milk. It cannot be transmitted by saliva, sweat, urine, or other body fluids (unless blood is present in these fluids). People can avoid contracting HIV sexually by using latex barriers consistently and correctly with all sexual partners.
