The old clubhouse building has been demolished, and the pool building has been cleared. The site has been a bit muddy due to the rain, but the foundation for the new clubhouse is well underway, and the new steel structure supporting the clubhouse walls and roof will arrive on-site soon.

]]> Balboa Pool Construction Update! https://sstasio.wpengine.com/balboa-pool-construction-update-3/ Fri, 21 Sep 2018 19:23:51 +0000 http://sfrecpark.org/?p=123405 Continue reading →]]> The Balboa Pool renovation project has experienced delays related to the new electrical service connection to the facility. We are continuing to work with the contractor and utility providers including PG&E & PUC to complete construction as soon as possible. Installation of the new electrical service has begun, this week contractor is trenching and installing the new utility substructure through the site.

We are also making good progress on other aspects of the work on the interior and exterior to maintain progress. We greatly appreciate the community interest in the re-opening of the pool, and are excited to return the facility to the community.

We currently anticipate project completion in early 2019. We will make an announcement to our community email list and on this web page when we set the opening date.

We intend to put the project out to bid later this year – 2018.

The department anticipates keeping the pool and programming open through the fall, and we expect to close for construction late 2018. Anticipated construction duration is 14 months. Please check back, we will provide more details on schedule and closure as the project progresses.
