Visa Application Requirements (For Other Level 1 nationals)

Important note: With effect from 8 Dec 2014, the Singapore Embassy in Beijing and our Consulate-General offices in Chengdu, Guangzhou, Shanghai and Xiamen will cease to accept walk-in visa applications. Please submit your visa applications through our Authorised Visa Agents.

Level 1 nationals include nationals from Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, India, Georgia, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Commonwealth Of Independent States (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan), Holder Of Hong Kong Document Of Identity, Holder Of Macau Special Administrative Region (MSAR) Travel Permit.

Please produce the following documents in support of your application. Additional documents may be required when necessary.

Passport and a photocopy of the applicant’s passport bio-data page must be furnished. At least 6 months’ validity (calculated from the date of arrival in Singapore) and one blank visa page.
Form 14A: One set (Original) of duly completed form (in English) and signed by the applicant in person per application.
Passport-sized coloured photographs: Two sets (one to be affixed onto the Form and the other for scanning purpose). The photograph must meet the following requirements:

Size: 2 inch, coloured, against white background and taken within the last 3 months;

Taken full face without headgear (unless the applicant habitually wears a headgear in accordance with his/her religious or racial custom but the headgear must not hide the applicant’s features).
Visa application fee:
The visa processing fee of $30 Singapore dollar is non-refundable. Our Authorised Visa Agents will charge a service fee on top of the visa processing fee. With effect from 1 Feb 2017, all our agents in China will charge a fixed visa fee of RMB 300, which is inclusive of the visa processing fee and the service fee. Please refer to our attached list of Authorised Visa Agents.
In addition, application for social visa should also produce the following documents:
If the applicant is employed, an original letter from the employer granting leave of absence and stating the duration of employment, designation and salary, is required. The letter must provide the name, address, telephone number(s) and fax number(s) of the company. The letter must also be stamped with the official stamp of the company.

An applicant who is unemployed must produce documents eg. Certificate of bank deposit (original and photocopy), so as to reflect his/her actual economic capability. There is no minimum requirement on the amount of money needed on the certificate of bank deposit but the certificate issuance date must within 1 month of the visa submission date.
Original Form V39A (Letter of Introduction).
A completed Form V39A which may be issued by a local contact* in Singapore. If you cannot secure an LOI from a local contact, you may ask your Embassy for a LOI to support your visa application.

* The local contact must be either a Singapore citizen (SC) or a Singapore permanent resident (PR) who is at least 21 years old with a SingPass/CorpPass account. If you are applying for an entry visa for business visit (attending business negotiations or discussions), the local contact must be acting on behalf of the Singapore-registered entity.
In addition, application for business visa should also produce the following documents:

(a) Business profile. One printout of the latest Singapore registered company’s business profile which is obtainable from the Accounting & Corporate Regulatory Authority (http://www.acra.gov.sg/). The printout date of the company’s business profile should not be dated more than 6 months from the day of submission. Applicant who is invited by Singapore government agencies, universities or are attending exhibition/conference/convention in Singapore are not required to produce Form V39A and business profile. The applicant however needs to present the original letter by the inviting organisation or event organiser addressed to the applicant. The invitation letter must be signed by the invitee of the organiser and addressed to the applicant (the full name as in passport).

(b) Original Form V39A (Letter of Introduction) must also bear the address, telephone number, fax number, official stamp of the Singapore company and the NRIC number of it’s representative.

Please submit your visa applications through our Authorised Visa Agents. You will collect your visa directly from the Authorised Visa Agents once it is ready for collection.

"For Social Visit (visiting friends, relatives and for tourism), the following are required:

How to Get an Authenticated Invitation Letter (Singapore)

Absent of any easily searchable memo or guidelines pertaining to getting an authenticated invitation letter, many Pinoys here in Singapore are left scratching their heads out of frustration as this new rule is making its way through. As many of you know by now, Pinoys traveling abroad (from the Philippines) as tourists are now being required to produce this ‘authenticated’ invitation letter.

For those of you who are not aware, it is a piece of document that basically states the traveler’s name and his/her sponsor’s details (the one ‘inviting’ the traveler). This document is ‘authenticated’ by the Philippine Embassy in the country of destination (in our case, Singapore) and must be sent to the traveler in the Philippines in its original form (no scan, photocopy, fax, etc). This is what he/she will then show to the Philippine Immigration officers before he/she is allowed to leave the country.

Now the problem with this new rule is that apparently, it is not being consistently implemented. Sometimes, they look for this and sometimes, they don’t. What?! Yes, onli in da pilipins. Sad thing is if they looked for it and you don’t have it, you can bid goodbye to your fun-filled weekend at Universal Studios Singapore along with your hard earned cash that you used to buy your airline ticket as most of the time, it is not refundable.

Ok, so you decided to just get this ‘authenticated’ invitation letter (even if you think it is a total nonsense) just to avoid any possible hassle and ask your friend in Singapore the favor of going to the embassy, paying $42.50 fee for the document, traveling from the embassy to Lucky Plaza to have it couriered and paying another $15 for LBC (coz you need to have the original), what does this document actually say? It helps to know so you and your friend will not run afoul with the law.

There is a template available at the Philippine Embassy in Singapore and it helps to have this information ready as it will save you time and will make your visit smoother (or less stressful, depends on how you look at it). Here’s how it reads:

SAMPLE INVITATION LETTER

That I am inviting Maria Clara (name of invitee), 30 years old, my friend, for a visit here in Singapore
That I will be responsible for all the expenses and accommodation of Maria Clara while she is in Singapore
That I guarantee that she will not violate any laws of the Republic of Singapore
That her visit is for tourism purposes only and she will not seek employment in Singapore and;
That my address in the Philippines is 100 Daang Mapayapa St. Pasig City.

TIPS YOU CAN USE

Come early. Before 9am is good. Embassy opens at 9am but queue starts way earlier than that. You can come at around 8:30am to avoid long queue. If you see lots of people outside, don’t worry; the queue for authentication letters is different and usually shorter in the morning. Embassy is closed Friday and Saturday.

Bring coins. Lots of it. At the Philippine Embassy in Singapore, photocopying machine is like a vendo. You wanna photocopy, you insert 30cents. Doesn’t accept bills though so make sure you have lots of coins, just in case you need it.

Bring a pen. There’s none provided at the Embassy so it would be best if you bring your own pen.

Bring your passport (original and photocopy). Last time we checked, they only require an applicant to show a valid passport to get an authenticated invitation letter. Just to be sure, bring your IC as well. Have it photocopied before going there. It saves you 1 less queuing time (in the photocopying machine).

Bring cash. They don’t accept NETS or Credit Card. They only accept cash. Fee is $42.50. Make sure you have enough with you.

Bring an iPod or newspaper or anything that can use to fight boredom. Getting any document from the Embassy definitely involves waiting, it just depends how long. Bring anything that can help you fight boredom.

TYPICAL PROCESS

Upon arrival at the Embassy, proceed to Window 5 (Notarials and Authentication)
They will give you the blank Affidavit and you will have to fill it up with necessary details (sample above). Other than the names and addresses, rest of the things can’t be changed like your guarantee that your friend will not seek employment, etc.
Once completed, go back to Window 5 and together with the photocopy of your passport, have it checked. They will then ask you to proceed to the cashier.
Pay $42.50 at the Cashier (cash)
Get the receipt and go back to Window 5.
They will ask you to wait as they do the ‘authentication’ process. They will sign, dry seal and record your document.
Wait for your name to be called (this is where your iPod or magazine is useful)
Once your name is called, get the document. You’re done!
Leave the embassy and have it couriered to your friend.

Unlike United States and other similar countries, there is no need to apply for a "VISA" while you are still in the Philippines (you do not need to go to an embassy to apply for a VISA) because Singapore is a member of ASEAN country.

What is "EPEC”? Do I need this before going in Singapore?

EPEC stands for Employment Pass Eligibility Certificate. This certificate when approved and you have it activated online allows you to stay up to 1-year to look for a job.

This is optional, but it is recommend to apply because this application free.

If you are approved, a certificate letter will be sent to your address via SNAIL MAIL. Please take note, it is a SNAIL MAIL.

What to do when the EPEC Certificate arrives through my door?

Congratulations, you're entitled to have a 1-year stay when you activate this EPEC certificate via online.

The EPEC certificate is applied through ICA website (via online) to activate. In short, this certificate that you received is still useless.

The EPEC certificate has no impact on Philippine Immigration and Singapore Immigration. Because it is still a letter and not yet approved by ICA.

You are still expected to get a return ticket and Singapore immigration will still weigh whether you get 14-day or 30-day even if you show this EPEC letter.

It is not recommended to show this EPEC letter in Philippine Immigration.

How to activate my EPEC?

You can now activate your approved EPEC letter online through Internet using this link below. No need for you to queue up in ICA.

Choose "Holders of Employment Pass Eligibility Certificate”

Initial payment of $30SGD by using credit card.

Processing takes anywhere from 4 to 5 weeks. Please take note 4-5 weeks.

If approved, you would receive an EMAIL containing the "In-Principle Approval Letter".

Another payment is expected ($90SGD) for the issuance of your LTSVP card (Long term social Visit Pass).

The email also contains instructions on the required documentations (medical certificate, educational details, etc) and a date for your appointment to ICA to submit these documents.

If you would notice, it takes 4-5 weeks for processing your EPEC activation. So if you do the math, it is recommended that you activate your EPEC at least 1 month before you fly to Singapore.

They will issue to you a date of appointment in ICA office, although you can change this date with your own preferred date if you are not yet in Singapore because you need to have you medical before going in ICA.

Will EPEC guarantee me to find work in Singapore?

This is one of the common misconceptions of EPEC holders. Getting an EPEC does NOT mean you are guaranteed to get a job.

The only advantage of getting an EPEC is for you to be able to stay longer here in Singapore.

Remember that Singapore Government was the one who assessed your EPEC and not Singapore companies.

Most Singapore companies do NOT have any idea what EPEC is. Even if you show your EPEC letter or EPEC green card, they do not care about this matter, it is only stated on the letter/ card that you are able to legally stay here in Singapore for 1 year.

In other words, your factor of being accepted on a job depends on your qualifications, the way you answer on the interview and extra luck.

Tips and Guidelines on How to Apply for International Cruise Ships

For my fellow Filipinos who are desperate and very eager to land a job in an international passenger or cruise ship. I’ll be giving some guidelines and tips that will surely make applicants qualified to apply even if they’re high school graduate or college undergraduate. Also, I’ll be giving guidelines on how not to be financially abused by some abusive manning agencies who more often than not take advantage on our poor kababayans whose only aim is to secure a Greener Pasteur for his/her family.

Before I start, I just want to refute a statement that “Working onboard a Cruise Ship is just for College Graduates” and that high school graduates don’t have any chance at all. This statement is totally FALSE.

For all those who want, wishing, desiring to work on-board international vessels e.g. Passenger and cruise ships, tanker, cargo and bulk ships the first major requirement is SIRB (Seafarer’s Identification Record Book) or simply called as Seaman’s book. Para makakuha kayo ng SIRB you need to undergo a SOLAS Training (Safety Of Life At Sea) or also known as BST with PSSR training (Basic Safety Training with Personal Safety and Social Responsibility). Anyone who is mentally stable and physically fit can take this training. It’s a 7 days training 6 days classroom lecture and 1 day practicum sa dagat or swimming pool. Training fee is around 4 to 6K pesos. Once you have the BST w/ PSSR certificate, you can now apply for SIRB (Seaman’s book). These are the requirements for SIRB application:

1. BST w/ PSSR certificate
2. NBI visa seaman
3. High school Diploma with Form 138 or College Diploma with TOR both documents kelangan ng CAV (Certification Authentication and Verification). For HS diploma sa DEPED kukuha ng CAV for College Diploma sa CHED.
4. Application form (libre ito at makukuha sa MARINA) – Marina is located in Taft Ave. near Kalaw
5. 2x2 picture with shoulder board
6. Fee: P850.00 to P1,500.00 (hindi ko na alam if how much na ang SIRB pero I’m sure not lower than 850 and not higher than 1,500)

Beware sa mga mag-ooffer ng non-appearance na certificate. I discouraged such activity. Very risk ito especially if ipapa authenticate na ang certificate.

Now you have an SIRB, you have completed 5% of your quest to work onboard an international vessel. Next step is checking job vacancies posted by a legitimate manning agency and assessing your qualifications (work experience, knowledge and skills etc.) against the job vacancies. I highly RECOMMEND and ADVISE all aspiring applicants to make yourself qualified first before applying. This will prevent you from incurring unwanted expenses like transportation expenses back and forth only to find out that you’re not qualified and were not selected. So make sure that you possess the right experience and trainings related to the position that you’re eyeing for.

If you’re applying for FO position, housekeeping, pool attendant or steward position, make sure you possess such working experience. Otherwise, your application will most likely be discarded. Unless you have an MBA (May Backer Ako) then that’s a different story. Very important to take note, almost all manning agency tend to give priority and select applicants (kahit undergard or highschool grad.) who has joined a vessel whether it was local or international route over applicants who have not boarded any vessel. Depending on the urgency of the job vacancy, some manning agency tend to consider applicants kahit na walang shipboard experience provided may SIRB,PASSPORT at related work experience and maritime training certificates (later we’ll talk about this training certificates). So how do you gain shipboard experience and make yourself shine over other applicants? Invest. If you are really serious in securing a work onboard a cruise ship, you need to invest to gain the necessary qualifications. If you’re undergrad or highschool graduate you need to invest in TESDA vocational maritime courses. It’s a 1 year course and at the end of the course students will be given a chance to work onboard a passenger ship as Front Office, Housekeeping crew, waiter, steward etc. This shipboard experience will be recorded in your SIRB and ALL manning agency considers it.

In my experience, we tend to hire applicants na may shipboard experience kahit highschool grad. or college undergrad against sa isang college graduate (pero wala naming shipboard experience) Reason behind this is that cruise ships enters US territories, so all crew must have a US Visa. US embassy tends to deny visa applications for seafarers na walang shipboard experience. Some agencies don’t want to take the risk, especially if the job vacancy is very urgent and the crew needs to be onboard asap. Thus, we normally choose applicants na may shipboard experience na atleast minimum 6 months regardless of your education. If the applicant’s visa application was denied after 6 months pa ulit sya pwedeng mag-apply. Sometimes there are some applicants na kahit walang shipboard experience, nakakalusot but very few. So you have the option, whether to take chances and trust your present qualifications or invest in short courses with shipboard training program increasing your chances of being hired. It’s up to you to decide. Tuition fee for this course is 12k to 15K per semester (2 semesters lang ito).

Now meron ka nang SIRB, Shipboard Experience you have completed 60% of your quest. Last thing that you will do is to take the minimum mandatory training certificates required by STCW (Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping) this is the bible of Maritime Training Certificates. Dito nakasaad ano-ano ang mga required training ng isang crew for a specific vessel. Bawat barko na sasakyan ng isang crew may specific maritime training which dapat icomply. For all crew na sasakay sa cruise ship, more or less nasa mga 4 to 8 training certificates ang dapat i-take. Again, you have 2 options: 1. Invest and take these trainings as early as possible 2. Wait to be selected and saka i-take ang training. Both have advantage and disadvantage, option 1 will expedite your application and will definitely have an edge over other applicants na wala pang training. Disadvantage lang is you have to spend na agad. Option 2 will save your money for the meantime, pwede mo pang magamit ang pera mo sa ibang bagay. Disadvantage is for urgent manpower requirements definitely you will not be selected. Be very cautious for some agencies which will require you to undergo numerous trainings. Some training is not really needed. Gusto lang nila magka commission at pagka kitaan ang applicant. So if you have completed this required trainings as early as possible then you achieved 85% of your quest. Nearly eight in 10 female salaried workers said they have experienced sexual harassment in the workplace, mostly by male superiors, a survey found Wednesday.

A lost BM e-receipt / OEC shall not be replaced by another e-receipt / OEC. WHAT IF BM E-RECEIPT / OEC EXPIRES BEFORE USAGE?

An expired BM e-receipt/OEC shall be replaced only upon submission of all the copies of the expired exit clearance and payment of the required BM processing fee of PHp100.00. In case the PhilHealth and OWWA membership of the worker has already expired at the time of replacement, payment for the renewal of PhilHealth and OWWA membership shall also be required.

Request for replacement of expired e-receipts/OEC shall be allowed only within a period of one (1) month from date of expiration. Otherwise, the application shall be treated as a new request for processing and must be supported by compliance with all the requirements for processing and issuance of BM e-receipt/OEC.

WHAT IS A MULTIPLE TRAVEL EXIT CLEARANCE (MTEC)?

MTEC is a single issuance of travel exit clearance good for at least 3 exits within the validity period of the existing contract of the worker whose contract with the same employer has a duration of not less than twelve (12) months from the date of application for travel exit clearance. MTEC shall strictly be used for travel to the worker’s jobsite.

WHO CAN APPLY FOR MTEC?

Workers whose nature of work and employment contract allow the worker multiple exit from the jobsite and re-entry to the Philippines for at least three (3) times within a period of one (1) year during the duration of his/her employment contract;
Filipino cabin crew and flight attendants of commercial aircrafts who are joining their operational flights outside of the country, and who are not in possession of permanent resident visa issued by their foreign host countries; and
Other categories of returning workers whose contract of employment provides frequent scheduled vacations or rotational leave

HOW MUCH IS THE COST OF MTEC?

WHAT ABOUT VACATIONING WORKERS WHO LEFT AS TOURISTS AND WHOSE

Undocumented / irregular workers will be documented as Balik-Manggagawa, provided that that they are returning to the same employer, and subject to their compliance with the documentary requirements and payment of prescribed fees for balik-manggagawa processing. Otherwise, they will be documented as (BM) Name Hire.

WHAT ABOUT VACATIONING WORKERS WHO CHANGED EMPLOYERS?

If their contracts with their new employers were not subsequently verified and registered with the POLO on-site, vacationing workers who changed employers will not be documented as balik-manggagawa. They will be documented as (BM) Name Hire at the Name Hire Unit.

WHAT ARE THE PROCESSES INVOLVED IN BM PROCESSING?

There are three (3) options in BM processing:

Option 1. One Day Processing
Option 2. Two Days Processing, wherein BM procedures are cut into two (2) phases, with short waiting time for both phase 1 and phase 2, instead of one day processing where the queues and waiting time are long. Under this option, the worker shall come back for his travel exit clearance the following day, at the same time of application filing. For example, if the worker files his/her application on Monday, between 8:00-10:00 a.m. his/her appointed day and time to claim his/her document is on the following day, Tuesday, also between 8-10 a.m.; if worker comes between 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., his/her appointed time for the following day to claim his document will also be between 10:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m.; if worker comes between 2:00 – 5:00 p.m., his/her appointed time for the following day to claim his/her document will also be between 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. Option
Door-to-Door Delivery Service, wherein workers just file their applications and have their travel exit clearance delivered to their homes thru Teleserve, a private courier(door-to-door) service provider which has an office within the premises of the Balik-Manggagawa Processing Division. Teleserve delivery fee is a flat rate of PHp220 within Metro Manila and the provinces. Delivery is 3 days within Metro Manila; 5 days for provincial deliveries.

WHAT ARE THE PROCESSES INVOLVED IN OPTIONS 2 AND 3: In both options, BM procedures have 2 phases: Phase 1 Phase 2

Force Majeure After Fire as Shell Declares

Royal Dutch Shell Plc declared force majeure, exempting it from fulfilling contracts, as it halts units at its largest oil refinery after the worst fire at the Singapore plant in 23 years.

"Force majeure has been declared on some of our customers," the company said in a statement yesterday, citing Lee Tzu Yang, Shell's chairman in Singapore. The legal clause allows the company to miss scheduled deliveries because of circumstances beyond its control. Company spokeswoman Serene Loo declined to specify how many customers are affected or how long the measure will be in place.

Singapore is Asia's largest oil-trading, refining and storage center, with supply dominated by Shell's 500,000 barrel- a-day Pulau Bukom plant and facilities operated by Exxon Mobil Corp. Shell shut units after the fire started on the island, 5.5 kilometers (3.4 miles) from Singapore's financial center, on Sept. 28. The shutdown continued as a safety precaution after the blaze was extinguished on Sept. 29, it said.

"The cost is mainly Shell's loss of sales," said Ong Eng Tong, a consultant at Hamburg-based oil trader Mabanaft BV in Singapore. "Middle distillate cracks will be more affected than the rest because it's the start of the heating season. Because of the psychological effect of the refinery shutdown, people will think there's a shortage."

Diesel Crack Gains

The fire led to a diesel-producing hydrocracker at the 50- year-old refinery being closed, boosting regional fuel prices. Gasoil, or diesel, traded at the highest in more than four weeks against Dubai crude today. Swaps for October were at $18.37 a barrel over the Asian benchmark crude, the biggest premium since Sept. 1, according to data from PVM Oil Associates Ltd., a London-based broker. This crack spread was $16.22 before the unit was shut.

Shell is buying diesel and gasoline cargoes in Singapore's spot market, according to a Bloomberg News survey of traders monitoring cargo transactions. It had purchased 100,000 barrels of 95-RON gasoline from BP Plc and 150,000 barrels of ultra-low- sulfur diesel from Hin Leong Trading Pte. as of Oct 1.

Shell has started an investigation to find the cause of the blaze, it said in a statement on its website yesterday. Damage was contained to the vicinity of the pump house, in an area 50 meters by 150 meters, it said.

There are still traces of fuel vapor in the air, the Singapore Civil Defence Force said in an e-mailed statement dated yesterday. About 50 firefighters remained on the island, while 50 returned to the mainland. The SCDF has handed management of the site of the fire to Shell, it said.

Ethylene, Gasoline

The Pulau Bukom facility also houses an 800,000 metric ton- a-year ethylene plant, a 155,000 ton-a-year butadiene-extraction unit, and a fluid catalytic cracker that makes gasoline, according to Shell's website. The plant exports 90 percent of its products to the Asia-Pacific.

A Malaysian contractor was killed in a fire at the plant on Sept. 29, 1988, National Library archives showed. Shell has operated in Singapore for about 120 years.

The company has additional production facilities on neighboring Jurong Island, where refineries belonging to Exxon Mobil and Singapore Refining Co., a joint venture between Chevron Corp. and Singapore Petroleum Co., are located. Exxon was ordered to stop work for a day at another Singapore refinery in March after a 34-year-old worker was killed during plant maintenance.

3. School conducts placement test if there is a vacancy. Applicants will be tested on subjects such as English, Mathematics and Mother Tongue Language (where applicable).

If applicant passes the placement test and the school accepts him / her, the school will issue a Letter of Acceptance (LOA). The LOA will indicate in-principle acceptance of the applicant, and the applicant can then proceed to the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) to apply for a student’s pass with the letter (see Step 3).

Admission is subject to the applicant obtaining and returning with a student’s pass from the ICA within 2 weeks from the LOA’s date of issue.

4. Apply for student’s pass at ICA

The LOA is valid for 2 weeks from the date of issue. Upon receiving the LOA, the applicant should proceed to ICA immediately to apply for a student’s pass. Applicant must produce the original LOA endorsed by the School to ICA.

5. Return to school within 2 weeks with student’s pass

The applicant must return to the school with a valid student’s pass within 2 weeks of the LOA’s date of issue. Otherwise, the applicant will forfeit his / her admission to the school.

What is Singapore Employment Pass?

Employment Pass (EP) is the main type of Singapore work visa issued to foreign professionals, managerial personnel(managing director, general manager, CEO), executives or specialists who wish to work in Singapore.

The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) allows the foreigner to apply for a Singapore Employment Pass after they have incorporated their Singapore Company to enable them to live and work in Singapore. The EP does not fall under any quota system nor is there a monthly levy charge for EP.

You can apply for Singapore Employment Pass (EP) work visa, if:

You are a foreign Entrepreneur, professional, managing director or shareholder of a Singapore company who wishes to relocate to Singapore to manage the company operations
You are a locally incorporated Singapore Company and want to hire foreign employees
You have an Employment offer from a prospective Singapore employer. In this case, you will have to request the employer company to make the employment pass application on your behalf.

Employment Pass Eligibility Requirements

Singapore Employment Passes are carefully assessed by the Ministry of Manpower by taking into consideration a number of factors such as the applicant’s qualifications, working experience, job profile, economic contribution, employer’s track record and the quality of the applicant to complement and supplement Singapore local workforce.

To be considered for an Employment Pass, you must have a fixed monthly salary of at least S$2,800 and possess one or more of the following:

Work related experience

A Student's Pass allows a foreigner to remain in Singapore for the purposes of study. A foreigner is required to apply for a Student's Pass if he/she has been accepted by an education institution to pursue full-time studies in Singapore, unless he/she is a:

Immigration Exemption Order holder; or
Visitor who has been granted a short term Visit Pass at the Singapore Checkpoint and wish to attend a short course that can be completed within the validity of the initial Visit Pass granted to him/her at the Singapore Checkpoint or 30 days, whichever is shorter.

The course must:

Be a complete module and stand-alone module of its own. Courses with multiple programme modules are excluded from this Student's Pass exemption scheme; and

Can a Long-Term Social Visit Pass holder (LTSVP) work in Singapore?
