Indian weddings are filled with rich tradition. While Indian weddings do tend to differ from region to region, they all have one thing in common: they are spectacular. Vibrant, colorful, and fun-filled—these are words to describe any Indian wedding, no matter where it occurs.

If you’re planning a wedding based on Indian themes and tradition, then you probably want to give your guests wonderful favors that they’ll never forget. Fortunately, you will find that there are plenty of Indian wedding favors to choose from. Your guests are very important, so you should give them souvenirs that they will remember forever.

Regardless of your budget, the perfect wedding favor is within reach. If your budget is on the high side, you will be able to afford special personalized gifts for your guests. But even if your budget is low, you can still find deals on wonderful, unique favors.

If you want to keep things simple, you could always give your guests gifts such as place card holders, picture frames, mints, or tea bags. While these favors may seem simple and ordinary to some, they’re still very meaningful. Your guests can take the picture frames home with them and place their favorite photo inside. As far as the mints or tea bags go, everyone enjoys them! These gifts will make wonderful favors for those who have a small budget. They are affordable and simple, yet charming in their own way.

If you want to give your guests something sweet-smelling and exotic, then incense or candles will make great choices. Sandalwood incense is a popular choice in Indian culture. Sandalwood is considered to be very precious, as it gives off a sweet, unparalleled scent. You can choose from incense gift boxes, incense fans, pouch favors, and more. Candles and candle holders, of course, always make great wedding favors as well.

If the ceremony is held at a temple, church, or mosque, then you can pick a favor that reflects the religious beliefs of your family and friends. There are many small statues and figurines of important religious figures, such as Lord Ganesha, the Goddess Lakshmi, etc. Some of these souvenirs are small, hand-painted statues while others come in the form of coins. Coins with engravings of religious icons are very popular. You can give them out as wedding favors. If you have a large enough budget, you could even have the coins personalized for each guest.

Elephants are very popular in Indian cultures, so there are countless choices for elephant-themed wedding favors. There are elephant place card holders, elephant candle holders, glass elephant figurines, and so forth. Everyone loves elephants, and you can give your guests wedding favors that will remind them of how wonderful elephants are.

Indian wedding favors can be as simple as place card holders or as extravagant as glass figurines. Bright, colorful wedding favors are popular in Indian cultures as well. There is so much to choose from, and you can find the perfect Indian wedding favor that will reflect your personality and style.

Something old, something new,
Something borrowed, something blue,
And a silver sixpence in her shoe.

This famous poem represents traditional wedding gifts. A sixpence was a minted British coin from around 1550-1967. It was worth six pennies and was made from silver. It’s believed that the poem originated in the Victorian era of England.

Each part of the poem mentions a good-luck token that should be given to the bride. It’s said that she should carry all of these tokens on her big day, so that her marriage will be a very happy one. “Something old” should be a gift given to the bride to symbolize her past. “Something new” should be given to her as a way to symbolize her future. A friend or a family member that is already happily married should give the bride something of hers to borrow. This is to remind her that she can always rely on her family and friends.

As for the “blue,” this color has been associated with weddings for many centuries. In ancient Rome, for instance, the brides wore blue on their wedding day. Purity has also been associated with the color blue, and up until the 19th century, blue was a very popular color choice for wedding gowns. Some believe this to be because of a proverb that says, “Marry in blue, love be true.”

The silver sixpence was said to have symbolized wealth and financial stability. Brides were supposed to wear them in their shoes. It’s also an old Scottish, good luck custom for the groom to put a silver coin under his foot. In modern times, a penny or a dime can be used instead of a sixpence, although some wedding stores still sell sixpences as gifts.

Another wedding tradition that still goes on today is giving the couple homemade gifts. Friends and family members would sew clothing items, quilts, hair ribbons, bonnets etc., and even craft items such as rocking chairs and other furniture. Books have also been given as traditional wedding gifts. In the old days the couple would be given copies of religious books, such as the Bible as a gift. Some couples still receive them, especially if their wedding is held at a church.

As time went on, it became a tradition to give both the bride and groom practical wedding gifts. This is still a common practice today. Practical gifts can include home appliances, gift baskets, wine, champaign, food, and more. These are the types of gifts that can be found anywhere. All though practical, everyone enjoys them. These are traditionally known as “safe gifts” that nobody can go wrong with giving.

If you plan on attending a wedding soon, you can give the bride and groom a practical gift, a unique gift, a personalized gift, a handmade gift, or a traditional gift. If you think the couple will enjoy an old fashioned gift, then why not give them something that has had special, symbolic meaning for many years? Wedding gifts have been a tradition for many centuries, so why not present them with something that has special meaning and symbolism?

Muslim weddings enjoin a woman and a man together as a married couple who plan on spending the rest of their lives together. Teachings of the Prophet Mohammad show that weddings need to be kept simple, yet in many Islamic cultures they can sometimes be very lavish and expensive ceremonies.

If you plan on attending a Muslim wedding ceremony or if you’re a Muslim who’s planning on getting married, here are some tips for etiquette.

One thing you need to avoid is spending too much money. While weddings are very important, marriages are even more so. Money should be spent on a home for the bride and groom as well as other necessities. Instead of splurging on the ceremony, the families of the bride and groom should give them money and encourage them to save it for the future.

The wedding feast, which is referred to as “walimaa” in some cultures, needs to be large enough to feed all of the guests. A bit of money can be spent on a generous meal for families and friends. The meal can be kept simple, yet there should be enough for everybody.

Etiquette concerning the Mahr varies in different cultures. The Mahr, which is a special gift given to the bride from the groom, isn’t supposed to have any required cost. The bride and groom agree on the gift, as well as the time in which he will present it to her. The gift will be hers alone, although in some cultures she can give it away or share it if she wishes. While the price of the gift isn’t supposed to matter, in many Muslim countries, it is beginning to. Prophet Mohammad taught that brides should request only the smallest amount, so that the groom won’t feel burdened to pay for something he can’t afford.

If you’re the groom, try to agree with your bride on a gift that you can afford. If you’re the bride, then keep in mind that he may or may not be able to afford certain gifts. Try not to ask for too much if you don’t think he can afford it.

As far as the sermon goes, it’s proper etiquette to pay attention. The imam will give a sermon, and you can show politeness by listening. Usually, the sermon will consist of advice to the new couple, and will serve to remind them of their responsibilities.

Keep in mind that alcohol is prohibited at Muslim weddings, as well as certain types of small edibles. Don’t bring or serve alcohol at the ceremony. Sherbet is associated with Muslim wedding ceremonies. Sherbet, which is a drink made from fruit juice and ice, is usually shared at Muslim weddings.

The poor and less fortunate should always be invited to Muslim weddings. The teachings of Islam explain that the poor are the truly noble ones in life, therefore they should be invited to eat at wedding dinners. It’s believed that those who invite the poor, especially the orphans, will be greatly rewarded.

If you’ve never attended a Muslim wedding before, then make sure you know the proper etiquette for attending. Muslim weddings are very special occasions, and you should play your part in making the ceremony nice and wonderful.

Muslim weddings often reflect the personal beliefs of the couples and their families. Due to cultural differences in various countries throughout the world, no two Muslim weddings are alike. As with all weddings though, it’s customary for the guests to give the bride and groom gifts. If you’ve been invited to a Muslim wedding, then you may be wondering what kind of gift the bride and groom would like.

For the most part, Muslim couples prefer gifts that any newlyweds can enjoy. Some are even going with the modern tradition of signing up with gift registries, which makes it easier for guests to know what kind of gifts they would like. Check to see if the bride and groom of the wedding you’re invited to are signed up with a gift registry.

If you take a look at a gift registry list for a Muslim couple, you will more than likely see items that are commonly used everywhere. These items include household products, food, art, and other customary gifts. Gifts given to the bride and groom at an Islamic wedding need to be items that the couple will have use for after their wedding. It’s also recommended that guests buy gifts within their financial means. A guest should not make a show of presenting the gift to the bride and groom nor should the bride or groom make a show as they receive it.

A miniature replica of the Kaaba is a good choice for a Muslim bride and groom who enjoy art. The Kaaba, which is located in Mecca, is considered to be a very holy place in Islam. Miniature replicas are very beautifully made, and they are great choices for those who enjoy collecting art that is based on Middle Eastern culture.

In some cultures around the world, Muslim newlyweds prefer cash gifts. If you see a comment on your invitation that says, “No boxed gifts,” then you know that the couple prefers gifts of cash. The amount of cash that you give them should be within your means. In some cultures, it’s considered proper to give an odd number amount, such as $50, $70, or $90. Some couples, however, prefer a minimum amount of $100. If you’re unsure, ask friends and relatives of the couple what the proper cash amount should be.

Please keep in mind that you should never give Muslim newlyweds products that contain alcohol or intoxicants. Any food that contains pork is also forbidden. So be careful if you want to give them food or drinks, because it will be offensive if you give them anything containing alcohol or pork.

Now you have a few ideas about what gifts are considered appropriate for Muslim weddings. You can check to see if the bride and groom are signed up with a gift registry, and if they’re not, check the invitation to see if they prefer cash gifts. Ask the relatives and friends of the bride and groom what amount of money would be appropriate. If you want to give them food or drinks, make sure not to give them anything with alcohol or pork. Follow these guidelines, and you will be able to present your Muslim friends gifts that they will enjoy.

An Indonesian wedding is a very important occasion. The bride and groom will send an invitation to anyone that they are acquainted with, which usually means there could be hundreds or even thousands of guests. While the majority of invited acquaintances won’t show up, the wedding will still probably be quite large. If you’ve been invited to an Indonesian wedding, you should at least make an appearance, even if it’s only for a few minutes. Pay your respects to the newlyweds, and let them know how happy you are for them.

Even if you’re not a native to the country, you may still receive an invitation. Many Indonesians believe that having a foreigner at their wedding is very prestigious. Don’t be surprised if you receive a wedding invitation for a couple that you barely know, even if you’re just in Indonesia for a vacation or business trip. Invitations are sent to anyone who may have had past contact with the couple or their families.

At an Indonesian wedding, the reception won’t begin until the bride and groom greet each guest. The guests stand in a long line to await their turn to be greeted. It’s not uncommon for there to be hundreds of guests at an Indonesian wedding, therefore it may take awhile for each and everyone of them to be greeted.

The majority of guests are only invited to the wedding reception. The wedding ceremony itself, which can last for several days, is reserved for the couple’s closest friends and family. The customs that are followed during the wedding ceremony vary among the different ethnic groups.

The traditional rituals and customs, although different in each region, may include bathing ceremonies, a gathering of the families so that the groom and his relatives can give presents to the bride’s family, and a special custom by which the couple kneel in front of their parents in order to receive blessings. While kneeling, the bride and groom ask for their parents’ forgiveness for any wrongdoing that they may have done in the past. During the main wedding ceremony, a religious rite is given, depending on the couple’s beliefs. Due to laws in Indonesia, couples from different religious backgrounds cannot marry. The bride or the groom (one) will have to change her or his religion so that the two can marry.

The clothes that the guests wear depend on the time and location of the reception. For more casual wedding receptions in Indonesia, men can wear a batik shirt with long sleeves. However, if the wedding is held in the evening at an expensive hotel, it would be more appropriate for men to wear suits. Women guests can wear nice, casual outfits for daytime weddings. For evening weddings, women should dress up more. Indonesian women usually wear their bright and colorful regional outfits, complemented with gold jewelry.

As for gifts, most people usually give money to Indonesian newlyweds. Put the money inside an envelope, and then place the envelope into a receptacle slot (which will be provided) after you sign your name in the guest book.

Indonesian weddings are very special occasions, and the couple will feel very honored with the presence of each and every guest. It will mean a lot for them if you show up for just a few minutes. Your gift, in any kind, will be much appreciated.

Wedding plans take a lot of hard work, and if you’re not organized, you may feel lost. There are many things, such as wedding favors, that make up a wedding day. If you have no idea what kind of wedding favors to give your guests, then hopefully this guide will help you with narrowing down your choices.

For starters, it might not be a good idea to give out useless wedding favors. Your wedding day will be the biggest day of your life, so you should want to share those moments with your loved ones forever. Your wedding favors should reflect your happiness and gratefulness. Give your guests special momentos, and they will remember your wedding day forever.

Wedding favors range from traditional to modern, from practical to useful, and from casual to charming. You can give out gifts to your guests that will vary according to their personalities, or you can give them all the same favors that can be enjoyed by everyone. It doesn’t matter what type of budget you’re on, as the best wedding favors aren’t necessarily the most expensive. No, the best wedding favors are the ones that come from your heart.

For instance, if your family and friends know you to be an old fashioned person, then give them traditional gifts that are old fashioned. Give them old fashioned throw pillows, quilts, or antiques. If your guests know you to love modern technology and gadgets, then you can give them electronic gadgets as gifts. Why not!? If you love arts and crafts, then make the wedding favors yourself. You can make photo albums, figurines, dolls, paintings, candles, etc.

If you’re still unsure, you could always give out wedding favors that match the theme of your wedding. Whether you’re having a beach wedding, church wedding, Christmas wedding, Spring wedding, Las Vegas wedding, cruise ship wedding, etc., there are plenty of wedding favors for you to choose from. Many online wedding favor stores sell those types of items. You will find countless choices to choose from, including place card holders, picture frames, candles, glasses, and more.

Once you’ve finally discovered the perfect choice of wedding favors to give your guests, you will need to get started as soon as possible. Whether you’re ordering them from online or making them yourself, make sure you get an early start. You should also make sure that you have more than enough to go around, just in case some unexpected guests arrive at the last minute.

Remember, the best wedding favors are ones that come from the heart. They don’t have to be the most expensive, extravagant gifts in the world, but they should still be special. If your guests can see that you put a lot of time and thought into their favors, they will share memories of your big day with you for a long time to come.

Traditional Japanese weddings take place in a Shinto shrine. The main religion of the Japanese people is Shinto, which means “the way of Kami (God)”. Traditional Shinto wedding ceremonies are attended by only the couple’s closest friends and relatives. They are very intimate events. The bride’s wedding dress is a traditional white kimono called a shiro-maku. These two words mean “white” and “pure”. Her hair is adorned with accessories and ornaments. The groom also wears a traditional kimono as well as pleated hakama pants. These are worn underneath a short overcoat adorned with his family crest.

A Shinto priest conducts the first ceremony. The bride and groom will ask for their mind, body, and soul to be purified. Afterwards, they will exchange vows and commit themselves to one another. They will then eat cake and drink sake. At every traditional wedding, the couple will drink nine cups of sake. This is a symbolic way for them to embrace their unity. Their friends and relatives also drink sake.

After the ceremony, they will welcome all their guests at the reception party. Anywhere from twenty to two hundred guests show up at the party, most of whom are friends, relatives, and associates of the couple. Guests will contribute to the wedding ceremony by singing, dancing, and making speeches for the bride and groom. Traditional Japanese music will be played.

The couple will change their clothes many times throughout the celebration. The bride will change into a pretty red kimono at least once. Modern brides may even change into western style dresses. At the end of the party, the bride and groom will both make thank you speeches for the guests.

Over the last few decades there has been an increase of Japanese couples introducing Western customs into their weddings. Many brides will now wear white, Western-style dresses rather than kimonos. Some modern Japanese weddings even take place at Christian churches rather than a Shinto shrine—even if the families aren’t Christians. The cake cutting ritual is common in Japanese weddings now as well.

There have also been a large number of Japanese couples choosing to have their weddings abroad. The reason for having wedding ceremonies outside of their country is to reduce the number of guests, which will, in turn, save their families a lot of money.

Sometimes traditional and modern elements are both mixed into a Japanese wedding. It’s quite common for the “shrine” to be located inside a hotel. A Shinto priest will conduct the ceremony inside the same hotel in which the reception will take place. Still, only the closest family members and friends of the couple will be invited inside the hotel’s shrine. The reception will take place in a larger room.

Japanese wedding ceremonies are very classy. Whether they’re conducted in a traditional style, modern style, or a mixture of both—Japanese weddings are amazing events. If you’re ever invited to a Japanese wedding, you need to attend the reception. The music and dancing can be very fascinating. They are truly memorable events.

Everyone wants to have a unique, special wedding. All couples want their big day to be celebrated and enjoyed by everyone. If you’re getting married soon, then you probably want your wedding day to stand out so that your friends, family, and peers can remember for years to come. But how can you make your wedding stand out? By giving your guests wedding favors that are special, unique, and memorable.

Wedding favors will add a special touch to your wedding celebration. They are special keepsakes of your special day that you can give out to your guests. They can be anything from practical gifts to special handcrafted ones that you yourself make. There are countless wedding favors for you to choose from, but if you want yours to truly stand out, you’ll need to put some thought into them.

Thankfully, wedding favors don’t have to cost an arm and a leg. If you have a tight budget, you can still find memorable wedding favors that will stand out. If you’re looking for something practical, yet neat, there are plenty of nice little keepsakes you can choose from.

One choice for practical wedding favors includes the Love Beyond Measure Heart Measuring Spoons set. Each set includes four stainless steel measuring spoons that contain the traditional measurements. One side of each spoon features “measures of love,” while the other side features the traditional measurements. The teaspoons and the tablespoon are all very cute, and they’re presented in a special box with velvet lining.

Another nice little keepsake that makes for a great wedding favor is the Happily Ever After Carriage Candle. If you want to share your happiness with everyone at your fairy tale wedding, what better way to do so than to give out fairy tale wedding favors? Each of these special candles has a white pearlescent finish and contains silver accents. They’re all presented in a gift box which is tied with a lovely silver bow. Attached to each gift box is a little card that says, “Happily Ever After…” If you’re having your dream, fairy tale wedding, then this is truly a wedding favor that will stand out.

Of course there are plenty of DIY or “do it yourself” ideas for wedding favors as well. You can always create your own wedding favors, especially if you’re good with arts and crafts. Photo albums, magnets, candles, gift baskets, soap, etc., are just a few ideas. If you know how make them, then why not put a lot of creativity into them so that they’ll truly stand out on your wedding day?

Personalized gifts are also rather popular. If you want your wedding favors to stand out for each individual guest, then why not have each guest’s wedding favor personalized? There is a lot to choose from when personalizing wedding favors. You can choose the color(s), style, design, etc. that you think each guest would appreciate the most. Make each guest feel special by having their wedding favor personalized with their favorite color. What could stand out more?

In Philippine cultures, the groom’s family traditionally pays for the wedding expenses. These days, however, the bride’s relatives will usually help pay for some of the expenses. The bride and groom will often pay for the expenses out of their own savings.

Before any of this is decided though, the groom and his family will pay a visit to the bride’s home in order to ask her family for her hand. This is called the “pamamanhikan” or “the meeting of the two families.” Pamamanhikan is a traditional event where the wedding plans are drawn out. It can be a rather awkward situation for the couple to hear their parents discussing plans for the future. The parents discuss matters concerning the guest list, budget, and so forth.

As far as wedding outfits go, white gowns have become popular in the last century due to Western influence in the Philippines. Traditionally, brides would don dresses with festive designs. The wedding gowns would represent styles of that particular season. The grooms now tend to wear the Barong Tagalog, as it is traditional formal wear in Filipino cultures. They usually wear them untucked, with a regular white shirt underneath. Grooms also usually wear black pants. The male wedding guests will typically wear their finest barongs.

Traditionally, in centuries long past, the wedding ceremony would last for three days. Modern Filipino weddings have changed a great deal, but some of the native customs are the same. Nowadays, there are special sponsors, such as godparents, aunts, uncles, or a parent, who will act as special witnesses to the marriage. There are also secondary sponsors that usually handle specific aspects of the ceremony. Some of them can be candle sponsors, who will light two candles. The bride and the groom will take each of those candles, and use them to light one single candle that will symbolize their union.

A veil sponsor will place a veil over the groom’s shoulders and the bride’s head. The veil is usually white. This is done to “clothe” the two as one. The cord sponsor will drape a decorative cord, called a “yugal”, over the couple’s shoulders. The silk cord is tied in a figure eight shape, and is believed to symbolize eternal fidelity. Finally, the groom will give his bride thirteen coins, blessed by the priest, called “arrhae”. This symbolizes his dedication to his wife as well as their future children. It is a sign of respect, as he lets her know that he will provide for her well-being.

Perhaps the most elaborate event of a Filipino wedding is the feast. Food at Filipino wedding feats consists of soups and a variety of different meats, including chicken, goat, boiled ham, fish, and roast pork. Vegetables and fruits are also provided. For the dessert, meringues, coconut macaroons, baked custard flan, and sweetened nipa plant seeds is served. No one ever goes hungry at a Filipino wedding!

Filipino weddings are considered to be some of the most beautiful ceremonies in the world. The Filipino culture is highly regarded for its belief in the sactity of marriage. They make sure that the permament bond between the bride and groom is made at an unforgettable event!
