Not to continue risking your lives, but before I reveal our finalists let me just say that we were overwhelmed (quite literally) by the hundreds of entries we received, and whittling it down to a mere 15 was a near-impossible task. In fact, our judges went through all the designs four times, it was that hard to decide.

But, decide they did. And your long wait is overe. Here are the finalists!

That's right, it's your turn to decide on the winner! Just pop into the comment section and leave us a little note with the number of your favorite design. (If all you say is, "I love the yellow one!!!!" I am not counting it. You've been warned.)

Since we were a little slower than expected in getting this up, I am giving you a little extra time to vote. (Aren't I so benevolent?) So, voting now closes on November 30 at midnight, EST. And we'll do our darndest to get the winner posted here on December 10.

Now, not to kill the happy mood of this joyous moment, but just a little reminder that you get one vote and one vote only. I am going to keep my eyes peeled for repeaters, and you will earn my scorn if you try any funny business. (My scorn, by the way, is something you most definitely do not want.) I don't know why I should be surprised since you guys are the best in the whole world, but the response to our Dare To Design contest was simply stupendous!

So much so that our diligent judges are still going through all of your stunning designs to choose our 15 finalists. Can you hang with us a little bit longer? The results will be up soon.

Party Like It's 1943

The holiday party season is nearly upon us.

This fact brings to mind two important questions.

1. Does anyone know what happened to 2009? Seriously guys, it is almost gone. And yet, I could have sworn it just began.

2. Is your wardrobe up to the challenge of months of office soirees and neighborhood get-togethers?

It probably doesn't surprise you that I have some good news, at least when it comes to Question #2. Today's good news comes in the form of 1943, Shabby Apple's newest line of chic and utterly fabulous dresses. These dresses are just what the doctor ordered for all your holiday party wardrobe woes.

But, let me warn you before you continue, that you are going to want every single one of these dresses. Literally. Every single one. Keep reading at your (pocketbook's) own risk.

If meeting friends or family for a celebratory dinner after work is the order of the day, then Gary Cooper, a charcoal pinstripe dress made of limited edition Italian suiting wool, is the order of the day as well.

This dress transitions seamlessly from day to night. Just add an oversized pearl necklace or a creatively placed sparkling brooch to take the final step from work to play.

If getting hearts racing is your goal, turn up the color and the volume with this red cowl-necked dress, West Coast Swing.

This splash of color will set you apart from the sometimes drab colors of the cold season right away. I recommend it for snagging the attention of a certain someone under the mistletoe. Tuck a large feather or flower, preferably in a contrasting color, into your hair and you'll be sure to turn all the right heads.

Uniform, Uni-fun

I am going to New York this weekend (I know, it's a hard-knock life), a trip that just happens to coincide with the six-month celebration of the Uniform Project.

What's the Uniform Project? you ask.

You're going to love this.

One creative New Yorker (is there any other kind?) has decided to wear the same dress every day for a year (seven identical dresses, one for each day of the week, to be perfectly exact, and hygenic), only switching things up with accesories, layers and the like.

It's one-part exercise in sustainable fashion, and also a year-long fundraiser for the Akanksha Foundation, a grassroots educational movement in India.

Think you would go crazy wearing the same dress every single day? (Even if it is specially designed to be wearable frontwards and backwards?) Well, if we all had this much style and creativity, I think we could pull it off.

Or, if this kind of committment is a little out of your reach, you can donate accessories or cash as well.

Fall Finds: Boots Made For Walking

Comfortable walking shoes are the holy grail of city living, and comfortable walking boots are my current quest. I have some really great boots that I really love, but nothing I can walk to work in and then wear at work all day long. Practical + fancy = a tricky combination.

Do you find yourself up against the same battle? I took the fight to the Internet, and here is what I found. (Spoiler alert: We come out winners!)

A comfortable black boot that can go from work-day, to after-work-play is a valuable thing indeed, and I think these shiny black boots fit the bill.

I love the patent detail on the heel and the toe, which helps to dress up the boot, while the low heel and easy pull-on construction make these a practical as well as a fashionable choice.

I always find myself struggling to find good brown shoes of any style (I have no idea why this is), but I fell in love with these tall scotch-colored boots right away.

The color is just right, and the boot just looks so classy. The rounded toe and the flat heel also promise easy walking, while being easy on the eye.

And for something a little more edgy and on-trend, I like these tan slouch boots.

The relaxed design at the top makes these boots a particularly attractive option for those of up with a little more to love in the calf area, and the buckle detail is the perfect complement to a simple, throw-it-on-and-go weekend outfit, though I think these could be paired with a dress and some muted patterned tights for an office look as well.

It was a little slow at work today (can I get a Hallelujah Chorus on that one?!?) so I spent some quality time with my friend, the Internet, and stumbled across this little gem: Have A Cute Day.

I love the premise of this site. Two (cute) sisters putting up pictures of the (cute) things they wear every day, and sprinkling in some advice and giveaways and how-tos on top. I have always thought it might be kind of fun to photograph what I wear every day, just to see how my own taste and style emerges. And I love seeing how other people put their favorite pieces together.

Most of all, I love the attitude of these sisters that fashion is for every day. High powered business meetings days, grocery store days, playing with your kids all day days. We can look cute on all of them!

All Treat and No Trick

The opinion I am about to share usually makes me pretty unpopular, but I am going to share it anyway. Ready?

I don't like Halloween.

I like candy (I really like candy), but I don't like knocking on people's doors and asking for it, and I do not like dressing up and going to crowded parties where I have to dance awkwardly with some guy dressed as a shark or one of the cops from "Reno 911," and I do not like being scared, and I do not like fake blood, and I do not like Halloween.

Around this time of year I usually find myself in the minority, though, and I am guessing there are some Halloween lovers out there. So here are a few last-minute, cheap and easy costume ideas for those of you who love to celebrate but haven't had the time yet to pull something together.

(I also hate thinking of costumes. Maybe I should read this post?)

Blown Away

You don't need a real windy thunderstorm to look like you've been caught in one, and this costume will win you major points for creativity. Plus, you can definitely put it together with things you already have lying around. Start with business casual clothes (slacks, dress shirt, belt) and add a quirky tie. Tie the tie as you normally would, then loosen it and slip it off. Undo a wire hanger and feed one end down the back sleeve of the front part of the tie. Bend the excess wire so it can be inserted into the skinny sleeve of the tie, then put the tie back on and twist the hanging pieces so they look like they just got blasted with a gust of wind. Turn an old umbrella inside out, gel your hair to stick up in the same direction as your tie and you'll be ready to blow everyone else away, too.

Day of the Dead

For a slightly creepier look, go with white face paint and and black lipstick. Use eyeliner to draw vertical lines around your mouth and eyes, and darken the area around your nose for that extra-dead look. Your box of Christmas decorations can be an unexpected place to find some costume accessories; keep your eyes peeled especially for brightly colored plastic flowers. Tinsel and other sparkly garlands can also be incorporated. Sponges, paper plates and every day craft paint are all you need to make stamps or stencils of skulls and other patterns for your clothes, and tempera paint will wash out if you are planning on wearing the items later. Vintage pieces, either from your own closet or a thrift store, add the finishing "from another time" touch.

Spooky Punk

This offers a slightly lighter take on the same ghoulish theme. For this outfit, grab a black dress or a similar trustworthy favorite and embellish with fishnets, gothic-inspired jewelry and funky boots. For the shredded scarf, tear some old clothes, tablecloths or sheets in gray or black and attach the pieces using safety pins for a back-from-the-dead punk rock look that won't permanently alter clothes you love. Experiment with different shapes and types of fabric to achieve your favorite look. This do-it-yourself scarf can also be added to a black T-shirt and dark jeans for a male version of the same costume. And, for a little bit of fake blood that doubles as a tasty treat, add some red food coloring to one-sixth of a cup of chocolate syrup, plus a dash of corn syrup to thin it out. Yum!

So, even though I will be sitting home, pouting and eating the candy I should be passing out to adorable children, I hope you have a wonderful time this Halloween!

Crafted and Found

The rule about swearing in my house always was that it doesn't count as a swear if it's a quote. (This has given us a surprising amount of latitude when it comes to cussing, just for the record.) Which is why it is not really swearing for me to tell you that the other day I went to a craft fair called Crafty Bastards, and I wish every single one of you could have been there.

There were skirts stitched together from recycled fabric! Jewelry made out of vintage typewriter keys! Purses made from the covers of old books! Hand-bound journals! Screen-printed T-shirts! And the list goes on and on.

But since every single one of you couldn't be there, I am going to do you the next best thing. Which is tell you where to find some of my favorite finds, all through the magic of the Internet. Can you handle it? Here we go.

For starters, I could not get enough of these statement headbands from Giant Dwarf. I bought this one in blue and gray tones, which turned out to be the perfect accessory match for my new Shabby Apple teal wrap dress, Azure Coast.

I was also quite taken with these enamel pendants from Dandelion Blu. The cherry blossoms were my favorite.

I can see this being just the right piece to grace the neckline of the Martha's Vineyard brown wrap dress, or to add a flash of color to the Storm grey knit dress, a personal favorite of mine. Throw on a pair soft pink heels to tie it together and you'll be the most stylish thing out there.

And now that you're all dressed up with somewhere to go, you need a one-of-a-kind, on-trend clutch to carry for your night out on the town. Right? You can find everything from whimsical to fancy at North Carolina-based Pear Threads. The Condie clutch, made from soft vinyl and vintage kimono fabric seems a match made in heaven for Shabby Apple's new black tiered dress, Tiery-Eyed.

And those of you currently stocking up on Shabby Apple's new line of maternity dresses should also be stocking up on some so-cute-you-could-die screen printed baby onesies from Pinecone + Chickadee. Seriously, if this cupcake came on grown-up clothes, I would be all over it like a cheap suit.

It seems that a lot of my favorite people are expecting babies these days. Which is good news for me because it means an excuse to buy adorable baby clothes, stock up on my favorite kids' books and plan trips to see the new little ones. And all of this without 3 o'clock feedings. Hurray for me!

But being in a family way is also good news for them, too. Mostly because I will be showering their little ones with love and affection. The White Album

With my new grown-up job, where everyone wears grown-up, professional clothes, I sometimes feel like I am swimming in a sea of white collared shirts.

I, myself, have never quite mastered the white collared shirt. For one, I think they are boring. And for two, I can never make them look quite right. (Which I blame on them being boring.)

But today I came across this picture of Brana Wolf, Editor-at-Large at Harper's Bazaar, and Nina Garcia, fashion director of Marie Claire, both wearing white collared shirts and I thought to myself, "If it's hip enough for them, I must be able to make it work for me."

The subtle details on Brana's shirt-- the ruffle at the bottom hem and the high, triangle-topped pocket on the left breast-- take it past basic, and allow the shirt to stand on it's own.

And I love how Nina has taken a more casual approach to the usually stuffy white button-up, with the sleeves rolled up and the top buttons undone. Oo-la-la! I also like how she has paired the formal item with hip cargo pants.

I am also seeing white collared shirts under trendy flyaway cardigans and cozy wraps and feeling pretty good about that. With the weather turning colder, a white button-up can layer under all kinds of things, taking the place of neutral tanks and camis that might not make the cut for winter. Pair a white collared shirt with a comfy tie-waist sweater and a pair of distressed jeans and I'd say you've got it made. And you'll be right on trend.

I find that things I generally dislike doing become a lot easier to do when I have cute clothes to do them in.

Runway Your Way

It has been Fashion Week madness on the East Coast lately, with all sorts of stars showing up for all sorts of shows from all sorts of designers. (I know because People Magazine tells me.)

Personally, I never pay much attention to runway fashions for two reasons.

1. They are usually so avant garde and, frankly, ridiculous, that I would never, ever wear them. Ever.

2. And even if I wanted to wear them, I could never, ever afford them. Ever.

Which is why I was so pleased to come across this little piece about recreating reasonable runway fashions on a reasonable budget. I am especially intrigued by the idea of mixing plaids. Rewind Summer, Fast-Forward Fall

It is about that time of year when you start to pack up your light, summery fare with a tear in your eye, and brace yourself for a long, cold Fall and Winter without some of your favorite things. (Need a tissue?)

But, wait!

Wipe those eyes!

There is still mileage and fashion fun to be had throughout the Fall (and maybe even Winter, too) with some of your favorite Summer staples. Here are four Summer pieces to keep in your closet even as the weather turns cooler.

1. A sundress (or two)
Sundresses are perfect to layer over jeans, or heavy leggings, or layer under a scarf and cool leather jacket. It will be a breath of summer air, even when the warmer months are all but forgotten.

2. Your favorite pair of shorts
Believe it or not (and you just might not), shorts are seasonless! All you need is a pair of tights (anything from black to patterned to neon will do), and a feminine Fall blouse and you are ready to go! Consider a pair of booties to really round out the look for colder weather.

3. Strappy sandals
A chunkier, platform sandal can easily make the transition with some knee- or thigh-high, thick socks. Feel free to go with warmer colors, like purple or cranberry, but stick to a neutral-colored shoe to anchor the look.

4. Light shifts
Just like the sundress, you might think your other lightweight summer dresses are doomed to be seasoned out, but such is not the case! Invest in some leggings and long-sleeved T-shirts and casual jackets and suddenly, you are not dealing with a summer dress anymore! Fall-themed statement jewerly can help finish off the look.

And here is a bonus for the men in your lives. (Or the men reading this blog. Hey, guys!)

5. Boat shoes
Get a boat shoe in a darker color, or more Fall-esque fabric, like suede and your favorite Summer casual will live through the Fall and Winter as well.

If you are looking for a high-end fashion fix, sprinkled with a little hilarity and some awesome one-liners, might I suggest the new documentary The September Issue?

It follows the planning and publication of the September issue of Vogue magazine, generally regarded as the annual Bible of the fashion world. My favorite bit might be a cameo by celebrity photographer Mario Testino, where he announces that, for an upcoming photo shoot, he'd definitely like to do something with the Vespas in St. Peter's Square in Rome, and then for sure "something with soldiers and horses." Yep, still laughing about that one.

And there's plenty more where that came from. You'll laugh, you'll cry (from laughing), and you'll definitely be glad you don't work for Anna Wintour.

Don't Sweater It

Have I already mentioned how much I love Fall? Because I sure do.

And here is one of my favorite things about Fall: Sweaters!

Boy oh boy, do I love sweaters. There is something cozy and nostalgic and all-around comforting about a good sweater. I can't get enough.

This Fall, I am particularly loving long, chunkier sweaters that almost border on a coat. Do you know the sweater of which I speak?

Some of them have collars, some of them button, some of them tie around the waist. I've seen them with short sleeves, long sleeves, and no sleeves, like a vest. I've seen them over a ruffled dress shirt and dress pants, and layered over a well-worn flannel and broken in jeans. The versatility astounds!

I popped into Ann Taylor Loft yesterday and they were everywhere.

This button-down, collared number is great over a nice shirt and a skirt, as you see it here. In this outfit, I see the sweater as sort of a twist on the traditional business suit jacket. But, I can also see this sweater over a patterned, long-sleeved shirt for a weekend, or even a graphic tee for some extra coverage during the in-between weather.

I also really loved this tie-waisted cardigan. The simple neckline could easily be paired with a collar or some ruffles, and this sweater has the same day to evening to weekend potential. I imagine you could take the tie off if you wanted something more open and draped, or you could add a pop of color or pattern by cinching the sweater with one of your favorite belts instead.

And this little number takes sweater vests right out of dorky and right into adorable. I think this is another one you could close with a belt or even some thick, boldly colored ribbon, and the layering options are just as varied. I am envisioning a band T-shirt and a studded belt with your favorite jeans for a little rocker chic, over a long tunic and leggings for an easy weekend ensemble (as you see here), or with a slim top and trousers for the office.

As it happens, Ann Taylor Loft is having a "buy one sweater, get the second sweater half off" sale on the Web site, so now might not be a bad time to stalk up. Or, if you're looking for some slightly cheaper alternatives, and are blessed to live near an H&M, I have seen some similarly darling options there. (If you are not blessed to live near an H&M, first, my condolences. Second, I can sometimes be convinced to do favors by baked goods and/or DVDs of "The West Wing.")

Boy, do I have some good news for you!

It's just a little contest whereby you could have a dress of your very own genius design featured as part of the Shabby Apple Spring line. And then earn a 3 percent royalty on all of your dress that sell. (Which, because you are all so genius, would be many.)

Then I give you...

To accept this fabulous dare, follow these simple steps.

1. Design a dress. And there is no need to worry if you are not a "designer." Whatever idea pops into your head is an idea we want to see.

2. Post a sketch, picture or computer drawing of your creation on your personal blog and tell us a little about it. Your post should include the tag "dress design for Shabby Apple dresses" and the words "Shabby Apple dresses" should link your readers right back here, to www.shabbyapple.com.

3. Also in your post, tell us about what inspired your design, and what colors and fabrics you think would be best for your dress.

4. Once your post is up and running, e-mail us as daretodesign@shabbyapple.com and let us know where to find you. (Be sure to include the direct link to your post, not just a link to your whole blog. Not that I don't love scrolling through pictures of family vacations, but...)

5. Be sure your dress adheres to Shabby Apple design standards. That's sleeves, at least a knee-length hemline and no cleavage, please! Also make sure your design is appropriate for the Spring season.

6. If your dress is chosen, you'll be responsible for getting a sample and pattern made. But, no need to panic. We'll help you out with that part.

Following Fall

Labor Day is behind us, school has started, and there is a definite nip in the morning air, so I think it is safe to say Fall is creeping in.

I happen to love Fall (it is the season of my birth, among many other admirable attributes), so I am always happy to see it come to town. But even those of you who mourn the departure of Summer will rejoice in these new Fall trends, courtesy of People Magazine. (From whence all good things come.)

Black Leather

Try it in pants, minis, jackets or leggings. Or, for all-out sex appeal, try a second skin leather dress like Angelina Jolie.

Check out Forever 21 for cutting edge leather styles on a budget.

Red Alert

Make a statement in the bold hue from head to toe, or add a pop to more neutral Fall colors with a red bag or shoes.

Sheath Dresses

Defined by a slim, figure-hugging silhoutte and a well-defined waistline, sheath dresses are flattering on more body types than just Renee Zelwegger's. (Thank goodness.) Subtle prints and tailored details can help flatter most any figure.

Bright Bags

Jewel-toned totes are another perfect way to liven up any Fall outfit. (Not sure what to say about SJP's glasses, though...)

Leopard Print

This has been one of my personal favorites for a while, and leopard print is getting a new twist this season with classy, more subdued options like this snowy gray tone.

Don't worry. It's not hard to get into the leopard print trend yourself.

Neon Pink and Black

A flouncy blouse paired with a pencil skirt is a great way to get in on this trend. Color block dresses will do the trick, too.

Ruffled Ruffles

This is another Fall trend I am loving, loving, loving. Ruffles can add a feminine touch to everything from a leather jacket to a slim cardigan, to a collared blouse to a hoodie to sandals and booties.

Bold Gold

Statement necklaces have been hot for a while now, and the trend has been getting even bigger (literally) with massive bib necklaces hitting the scene in the last few months. Add a little gold to either of those trends and you'll be right on message.

And you don't have to spend a fortune, either.

Sparkling Shoes

Another pick me up on somber Autumn days? Shoes with some sparkle! Try pumps with a shimmer or flats with some sequins and tell me you don't feel better already.

Embellished T-shirts

Skip the jewelry shopping all together and go for a shirt with some built-in bling. A shirt and necklace in one? Yes, please!

Dressy Leggings

What was once only an accessory has become a full-blown wardrobe item of its own. Play dress up in leggings embellished rhinestones, lace or sequins.

Vintage-Style Jewelry

The real thing can sometimes be hard to find, but jewelry with ribbon or crystal details gives the vintage vibe just as well, and it won't break the bank.

With all that good fashion ahead, I bet we're all fans of Fall now.

Not Your Boyfriend's Blazer

Now that I work at a real-life grown-up job, I can tell you one thing: blazers are boring.

Lucky for us, though, the traditional blazer is getting all kinds of funky spins these days. It's not just broad shoulders and boxy cuts anymore. And blazers aren't just prep school or day-time office wear anymore either. Less formal cuts, like the currently ubiquitous boyfriend blazer, are perfect for days at the office, nights out on the town and lazy Saturdays, especially as the weather starts to turn a little crisp.

Looking to get into the boyfriend blazer trend yourself? (Because you should be, you know. All the cool kids are doing it.) Here are some tips to help you do it right.

Office Romance

The boyfriend blazer has a slouchy, voluminous cut, so balance it out with slimmer elements. For a day at the office, consider pairing your boyfriend blazer with a pencil skirt, tight shift dress or skinny trousers. To round out the top, experiment with layers, like a well-tailored feminine shirt or a peek-a-boo lace camisole.

Another great alternative for the office is a boyfriend cardigan. This will fit more slimly because of the fabric (try a luxe cashmere or thin cotton). The boyfriend cardigan is another good complement to a shift dress. You can also try pairing it with wide-leg trousers, if the fit is slim enough. Instead of always using the buttons, experiment with belts of all different widths to hold the cardigan closed, or use a colorful brooch.

Tu-nic, Too Nice

If your blazer is long enough (I would say skimming your bum and beyond qualifies), and if you are feeling particularly bold, you might consider wearing your blazer like a tunic over leggings. And if you are really having one of those extra-special, daredevil days, you might even consider wearing your boyfriend blazer over leather leggings. (One thing's for sure, your boyfriend would love it!) If leggings are a step too far, stick with a skinny trouser or jean.

Catch Me Casual

To take this style from work-day to weekend, and to really ramp up the 1980s vibe, layer your boyfriend blazer over your favorite faded band T-shirt and distressed jeans.

Or, throw on a boyfriend blazer instead of your favorite cardigan.

Or, mix styles and eras in perfect combination by layering a boyfriend blazer over a short, flirty dress. Just make sure the dress is longer than the blazer. For a more sultry, night-on-the-town look, pair your boyfriend blazer with a slinky cocktail dress and gladiator heels. Ooo-la-la!

Roll up the sleeves on your blazer to achieve the ultimate laid-back look.

If I do say so myself (and I do, of course), with looks like these you'll have all the help you need putting "boyfriend" in the boyfriend blazer.

Because the Internet is a place where we do not judge each other, I feel totally comfortable and not at all embarassed telling you that I watched "Twilight" three times last weekend.

And then maybe I got on Stephenie Meyer's Web site and read a bunch of stuff there.

And then maybe I kept scouring the World Wide Web for any other "Twilight"-related tidbits.

Which might have led me to a feature from In Style Magazine, wherein well-known designers took a stab at designing Bella's wedding dress, based on a reference in the third novel, "Eclipse." No one has caught a glimpse of the real thing yet (real being a relative term, natch), but if I was Bella (oh, were that I were Bella!) I think I would be happy to walk down the aisle toward my dreamy vampire love in any one of these creations.

Frills for Fall

It's a little bit hard to think about fall clothes when it is still blazing hot outside, but the Shabby Apple Fall line is here, and it is not hard at all to think about how straight up darling this new line of dresses is!

Take a look:

The Moss and Ivy tiered dress is a new spin on one of my old Shabby Apple favorites, 16 Candles. The color is soft and romantic, and so is the stretchy cotton fabric. I can see this dress all dressed up with heels and a long pendant for a fancy dinner, or dressed down with flat boots and a blazer for a Saturday morning at the pumpkin patch. A definite Autumn must-have either way.

The Kenya wrap dress is a flattering option for just about anyone, with a cross-over bodice, a waist-tie and a full paneled skirt that keeps everything under wraps. I love the heavier canvas material, perfect for the in-between Fall weather. The camel color also makes Kenya a perfect dress up/dress down option. I am planning to wear mine with leopard print ballet flats, and I can't wait!

Busty Move

As one of the most flat-chested people you know (and proud of it! (sometimes)), it never occured to me how tricky it is for the bustier among us to dress for appropriately for work without feeling like we're dressing for a trip to a Muslim country.

But, after having this very discussion with my voluptuous co-worker a few days ago, I decided to get some advice. For you. Because again. Flat-chested over here. I could wear a shirt cut down to my belly button and no one would blink an eye.

Moving on.

For the rest of you, here are 10 tips for keeping your girls covered and your sense of style in tact.

1. Know your bra size. If you are getting the multiple boob effect, or if your bra straps are digging deeper into your shoulders as the day goes on, something is wrong. The quickest solution is a quick bra fitting, which you can get at any high-end department store or lingerie shop.

2. Wear bras that are appropriate for work. Seamless bras with maximum coverage are the best. Bras with a lot of lace or other details might be sexy, but they can also show through shirts and sweaters, bringing more attention to your ladies instead of less. Bras without the right support will leave you, ahem, bouncing all day long.

3. When all else fails, minimize. If you are wearing the right size and style of bra and still feel too busty, you might consider a minimizer. Keep in mind though, from what I hear, that might not be the most comfortable option if you are going to be putting in a lot of long hours.

4. Know your neckline. Thanks to Ashley Harris' recent post, we all know how to choose the best neckline for our face. Now, make sure you are choosing the best neckline for your breasts. A button-down shirt, open at the collar, gives the illusion if a V-neck with a little more coverage. A boat neck is also a flattering choice and a cowl neck is great on its own, or dressed up with a suit jacket.

5. Draw the eye upwards. You busty ladies are probably no strangers to the "My face is up here, stupid" syndrome, and work is no exception. The more you can do to keep people's eyeline high, the better. If you're wearing a lower cut V-neck, for example, consider putting a simple camisole underneath. Steer clear of anything lacy or detailed that will pull the eye down. You can also use accessories to your advantage-- a brooch on your shoulder, for example, or a strand of pearls that ends just below your clavicle. Avoid long pendants or necklaces that end right where you don't want people to be looking.

6. No buttons, no problems. Shirts without buttons have less of a tendency to gape open, so try T-shirt style blouses or sweaters. If you feel like your top fits a little too snugly for office comfort, try a silky camisole underneath to help it lay more smoothly. (A cotton cami will only stick to the sweater and make it worse.)

7. Buy for your bust. A button down shirt that gapes at the bust is never going to look right, no matter what you do. Buy a few sizes larger, for a good fit in the bust, and then have the rest of the shirt tailored to fit your other narrower curves.

8. Know your proportions. For an hourglass figure, a pencil skirt is probably best, while an A-line skirt is just the ticket for someone larger on top with a narrow waist and bottom half. Dressing in a monochromatic theme can also help minimize what needs to be minimized and maximize the best. Try a few different styles and see what looks and feels best.

9. Suit Up, Button Up. Suits with two or three buttons mean a higher closure, which means your bust is more covered. Avoid suits with a single button in the middle. A double-breasted suit shouldn't even cross your mind. (Remember, we are going for less breast, not double breast.)

10. Follow the leader. Look around your office or office building for a similarly built woman and see what she wears. It will either give you some good ideas, or show you how not to do it.

That should probably keep you out of trouble, when it comes to your office dress code, at least.
