Prey - Where to Find a Gun

This guide will show you where to find a gun in Prey. In Prey, you start the game with nothing but a wrench, and it’s not very fast or effective at taking out the Tychon. You’re going to want a gun, a pistol or a shotgun, thankfully we’re here to tell you where to get your first gun in Prey.

How to Get a Gun

The first weapon you get in Prey, aside from the Wrench, is the GLOO Gun, but it’s not very usefull when it comes to killing the Tychon – it’s mainly good for climbing. To kill these Mimics and Phantoms easily, you’ll want to collect the Shotgun or the Silenced Pistol. You can use a gun like the Disruptor Stunt Gun, but it’s not as effective as blowing them to bits with the Shotgun.

If you pre-ordered Prey, you’ll find a bunch of goodies in the locker in your office, one of which is the The Margrave shotgun. For those of you who don’t have the pre-order bonus, there is a way for you to get a shotgun well before you reach the office.

As soon as you enter the Talos I Lobby and see part of the station explode, you will want to head to the Security Station which can be found on the right side of Level 1. Be careful, because the area is crawling with Mimics. To kill them easily, lure them down to the Shuttle Bay and into the line-of-fire of the Turret.

Head through the Security door and jump up onto the yellow pipes. Crouch-walk along the pipes and through the hole in the wall, this will place you above the Security Station. Jump down into the office and you’ll find the Shotgun sitting on the desk with some shells.

From here, you can use the keycards and information you find to unlock the doors to leave. Now all you need to do is find some Mimics, Phantoms, and other Tychon to use your Shotgun on!

If you read this guide, you should now know where to find a gun in Prey.

Crossroads: 100 Percent Completion Notes

Crossroads is the first (but not the last) chapter in Detroit: Become Human to tell a story from the perspective of all three main characters. As such, this chapter has three separate and distinct flowcharts: one for Markus, one for Connor, and one for Kara, all of which we've featured below. In addition, each character's part of the three-part tale comes with its own unique set of endings, which this guide will spell out after each flowchart. For convenience, players can use the links below to jump straight to the flowchart or ending list they're looking for: •

Markus Flowchart • Markus Endings • Connor Flowchart • Connor Endings • Kara Flowchart • Kara Endings

Beyond all this, and because of the immense complexity of this chapter, providing a text-based flowchart is more complicated than with previous guides in our walkthrough. To get around the problem, this guide will break each of the smaller branch points into subsections. To keep things in order, any actions written (in parentheses) will indicate a jump to one of the following subsections.

It's been many years since a Spider-Man game has truly given me the sense of being the friendly neighborhood webhead. I wasn't sure what to expect when I tried out Marvel's Spider-Man for the first time, but as I swung across New York for the first time, I started to get the sense of what it truly meant to be the web-slinging superhero.

But just being Spider-Man is one part of the formula. There's more to being Spidey than just swinging across the city. Shacknews got a taste of that formula after going hands-on with the first couple of hours of Insomniac's upcoming superhero action game.

It's easy to tune out the opening tutorial mission, because of how vast the city of New York looks and feels. But it doesn't truly feel like a playground until Spidey starts swinging for the first time. The locomotion is incredibly fluid, with Spidey able to swing, runs up walls, and boost forward with a slick smoothness that hasn't been present in Spider-Man games in years.

As much fun as it is to swing around the world endlessly, the tutorial mission does start, establishing that this is a veteran Spider-Man. Peter Parker has been New York's guardian for eight years, fresh off his college graduation. He's in constant communication with the police dispatch radio and has a direct line with NYPD Captain Yuri Watanabe, who informs him that the police have Wilson Fisk dead to rights and have him cornered in Fisk Tower. But this being the Kingpin, Fisk isn't going down without a fight and has the police on the ropes.

Spidey's mission is to catch Fisk before he can escape, which introduces the game's combat mechanics. Anyone familiar with other superhero games, like the Arkham Asylum games, will be pleased to see the crisp combat at work. Spidey can punch out baddies with long-string combos or switch back-and-forth between enemies, while his Spider Sense gives him cues to dodge incoming danger, like fists or high-impact rockets. Webs can be integrated into combos, with weakened enemies able to be webbed to walls and floors outright. Players can also grab nearby objects with webs and swing them right into foes. As Spidey builds up his combo bar, he can use the full bar to either heal himself up or use it as a one-hit kill on enemies.

Eventually, Spidey catches up with Fisk, who muses about the eight years that they've been adversaries. This segues into the game's first boss battle, in which Fisk charges like a raging bull. He can only be slowed by Spidey's web shots, at which point he becomes open to combos. It's a good warm-up for similar enemy types that will appear later in the game.

Once Fisk is taken down, his apprehension opens up an interesting quandary. Fisk points out that with his clout in the underworld, he kept much of the criminal element in check. Because nature abhors a vacuum, Fisk's absence would open the door to lesser criminals to try and take his place.

Sure enough, as the game goes on, Fisk proves to be right. Petty crime is heavily on the rise across New York, with Spider-Man given the option to stop these thugs. Examples of crimes that will pop up include muggings, jewelry store thefts, drug deals, and even high-speed chases. To this point, the resemblances to Activision and Neversoft's classic Spider-Man 2 were noticeable, but this was where I started to see some improvements from that game. Spidey wasn't wasting side-missions on fetching balloons or delivering pizzas, he was actually being a hero. There's also a separate set of side missions involving construction sites acting as fronts for Fisk's criminal dealings. These begin with Arkham Asylum-style stealth missions, with Spidey able to score various web-based takedowns without being detected. However, these will quickly break down into wave-based ambushes, putting players through more of an endurance test than anything else.

The side content is plentiful, going beyond the aforementioned petty crimes. Players can track down old backpacks that Spidey lost track of over the years or take pictures of landmarks, with each side mission awarding XP and special tokens to help upgrade his abilities and his suits. There are dozens of suits available over the course of the game, each with unique traits and special moves. As useful as it was to refill my combo bar quickly, there was something fun about using the classic Spider-Man suit to web up all lesser enemies on-screen almost instantly. For those who want the powers and also to pick out their own fashions, suits and suit powers can be mixed and matches as the new suits are unlocked. Further on the subject of side missions, I couldn't help but notice that even with dozens of collectible types to collect, I couldn't help but notice that the pause menu had a lot of "LOCKED" collectibles, indicating that there's far more that wasn't in the demo that will be out there for the full game.

All of it can be a little tough to find, which makes it helpful that players can upgrade the city's cell towers. Located across New York, Spidey can fix up any towers with amplification-matching mini-game. Any repaired towers can help show off the locations of any nearby collectibles.

As for the story, Fisk's arrest also opened the door to a new villain. Players get to meet the underlings of Mr. Negative, who are seeking out certain items still in Fisk's possession. One of them is in the local museum, with a collection donated by Fisk. This is where players are thrown into a hostage situation and tasked with getting through all of these foes silently. This is a more intense version of the construction sites, with Spidey having more limited space to work with. Although he does have vents he can crawl around in and help aid in his takedowns.

This scenario also introduces Mary Jane Watson, with the game quickly establishing that she's aware of Spider-Man's identity. However, Peter and MJ have been on the outs for at least six months, so while they're still friends, they're not so much an item anymore. Peter and MJ's first meeting segues into the first of the playable Mary Jane Watson missions, which flashes back to show how the museum heist began.

The MJ mission is more about stealth, information gathering, and photography. She's there to take pictures of Fisk's collection, but is also looking to find certain secrets about the museum being a front for illegal activity. The toughest aspect of these missions involved sneaking past the curator to get into a locked room filled with secrets. There's no combat in MJ's missions, at least not yet. A cutscene showed she's more than willing to take down a bad guy herself if she has the tools available to her, so there may yet be a stealth combat scenario coming for Ms. Watson.

All of this is a small sample of what players can expect with Marvel's Spider-Man, which is looking more and more like all of the best elements of the classic Spider-Man 2 mixed in with the free-flowing combat elements of the Arkham games. With a glut of side content and a massive city to explore, this is looking to be one of the biggest Spider-Man adventures ever made. Even after four hours, I still didn't even scratch the surface of Spidey's rogues gallery, which gives me the idea that this is going to be quite the lengthy story. And the more story, the better, because the most memotable Spider-Man tales are the ones that squeeze in the best of Spidey and the best of Peter Parker.

Marvel's Spider-Man is almost ready to swing in. It's set to release exclusively on PlayStation 4 on September 7, along with a special PS4 Pro bundle.

How to Play Total War: ARENA with Friends

So, you’ve decided to jump into Total War: ARENA and wage war on your enemies. Maybe you want to combine the Defensive Infantry skills of Leonidas to hold down the enemy while your friend quickly flanks with Hannibal, or maybe you want to rain death upon your foe using Cynane’s archers while your friend pushes through the enemy as Germanicus. Either way, you want to get your friends on board and wage war as a group, rather than trying it alone. Understandable. After all, everything is better with friends. Here’s what you’ll need to get ready to jump into battle with friends in Total War: ARENA.

First, you’ll need to start by adding your friends to your friends list in Total War: ARENA. On the top-left section of the display, there are a series of options you can choose from, such as the Squad and Tech Trees. The one we’ll be focusing on right now is the Social category. Once you’ve clicked on Social, you are shown a screen where you can select Friends & Party, Private Lobby, and Forum. By default, the Friends & Party is selected, which is where you want to be.

As a part of this particular sub-menu, you are able to search for friends and then add them. All you need to do is type in the name your friend is using for the game and hit search, then they should show up as one of two drop-down lists. Simply click on their name and you’ll be given the option to send them a message, view their profile, add them as a friend, and invite them to your party. You don’t have to add them as a friend to invite them to a party, but adding them as a friend will make the process faster next time you all jump on to play.

Now that you’re all partied up, you’re ready to dive straight into the action. For the first few battles you’ll be playing against AI, at least until you and your friends have unlocked some higher-tier units to play with. Once you reach tier three with your units, then you’ll be able to dive into the action against other people, but for now you’ll need to prove your worth against the Total War: ARENA AI.

The next step in fighting as a cohesive squad is making sure that you and your friends have a balanced army. You can see what Commander and units your friends are bringing to the battle once they ready up. This allows you to make plans with one another to pick complementary armies. Maybe you want some Hoplites or Heavy Infantry to tie up the enemy forces while your friend’s archers fire safely from behind, or if you’re feeling particularly tactical, maybe you could have some Cavalry waiting in the wings to flank the enemy once your friends engage.

Additionally, before you launch into a battle, all the units in your party, including your friend’s units, must be within one tier of each other. This is to prevent you from accidentally dragging your friend into a battle that his or her units are not equipped to face. As long as you meet those restrictions, you’re all good to go. Once you have the units and Commanders you want to use, everyone except the party leader should ready up, which simply means clicking the bright red button in the top middle of the screen where “Play” would normally be. Once the party is ready, the party leader can queue everyone for battle and the action can begin. So, saddle up and start sharpening your blades, it’s time to go to war in Total War: ARENA.

Talking World of Tanks Console Development With Mercenaries Narrative Designer Darold Higa

Wargaming's free-to-play game World of Tanks has thrived in a huge way on PC and has a strong presence on consoles, but the studio recognized a major opportunity for growth there. The PS4 and Xbox One communities have different expectations and desires from the PC gaming community and one of those is a strong single-player or cooperative campaign. Mercenaries <g class="gr_ gr_789 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Grammar multiReplace" id="789" data-gr-id="789">is</g> the expansion to World of Tanks that launched on June 26, 2018, and aims to address the desire for a narrative experience in World of Tanks. I attended a press event in Minnesota where I was able to discuss the conception of Mercenaries with narrative designer Darold Higa and get a better understanding of what new and old players can expect from it.

“We’re all console players," Higa says. "A single-player experience has always been a part when you have a multiplayer game. So we knew we were going to shoot for that at some point. The community kept saying ‘hey, we want more tanks’ and they reacted very favorably to the fact we introduced characters in War Stories.”

The World of Tanks team originally teased the world of this expansion via a War Story called Spoils of War. Before that, the team was flirting with the idea and building the infrastructure to sustain it. The launch of Mercenaries essentially was a result of the favorable response to Spoils of War.

“The tanks are still the main focus and our characters, but now we can bring in this universe that has these colorful and cool and interesting characters. And the players like that! That’s how it kind of expanded," he says.

With World of Tanks focusing so heavily on historical accuracy when it comes to the tanks themselves, it was only a matter of time before the team ran out of material. Introducing a world of mercenaries that have no particular loyalty to a nation opens the floodgates on creativity for players and the design team, allowing for vehicle parts to be mixed and matched onto a custom tank. While this is obviously a perfect evolution to the gameplay experience, one that extends the life of World of Tanks for the players, it's not a complete departure from the game's relation to real life events and tanks.

“Historically it was done," Higa tells me. "For instance, after the war, the French had to fight a conflict in Algeria and they had a bunch of surplus of American chassis but it didn’t have a big enough gun. They had a tank gun that was more suited to what they needed because of that they ended up hybridizing two of these tanks. The Israelis did this too.”

“It’s usually not the major tank producing nations. They don’t need to do that. They design a new tank. But what a lot of other countries were doing was saying ‘hey, let’s take this WW2 surplus’ or ‘let’s take these things that we have available like captured tanks or whatever’ and we’re going to convert them into something that we use in a more modern setting. That’s kind of the historical inspiration but some of our community said it’d be really cool if you had these hybrid tanks and since they’re from no ‘one’ nation why not make them mercenaries.”

If you've already been playing World of Tanks, you've probably more than enough time and experience to dive into the Mercenaries narrative on PS4 and Xbox One. What about new players? Is this an end-game experience that they'll have to grind for? Not at all. The Spoils of War experience will be available and serves an introduction to the Mercenaries world, which will be available to you in full pretty quickly. Higa does recommend new players get a feel for the game by playing a across multiple modes before diving into multiplayer, but Mercenaries isn't going to be barred off from new players.

The console version of World of Tanks isn't simply a port from the PC version, as many likely expected. This version was built from the ground up by a team with console development pedigree and Mercenaries is the result of honing in on the desires of a console community. We'll be diving into the game and sharing more from the press event hosted by Wargaming, so stay tuned to Shacknews for more.

While the fine folks at Bullfrog practically invented the amusement park management genre with Theme Park, the genre became huge following the release of Chris Sawyer’s Rollercoaster Tycoon. A bonafide PC gaming classic, Rollercoaster Tycoon remains a favorite of just about anyone who played it during its heyday in the late 1990s. In recent years, a community project known as OpenRCT2 began with the intention of bringing the game up to modern standards with a new renderer made for modern high-resolution displays and the inclusion of a multiplayer mode. For today’s stream, we will be jumping into a multiplayer park at 5:45 PM ET (2:45 PM PT) on the Official Shacknews Twitch Channel.

We encourage anyone who would like to play to join us on the MP server. You’ll need a working installation of Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 (from any source) and a copy of OpenRCT2 (available here). We will give out the server details on the stream. As always, we’d like to take a moment and thank our subscribers and followers. These streams only happen due to your support and regular viewings. Another big thanks to those who participate in the Twitch chat. Your interaction means a lot to the streaming folks and is always appreciated. The portable console continues to burn up the sales charts in its second year on shelves. Nintendo released its earning report to investors and within the report it is mentioned that the company has sold nearly 20 million Switch units worldwide. Nearly 40% of all the units sold were in North America, the strongest market for the device. While the year over year hardware sales numbers were slightly down, the Switch software market is spicy hot. Nintendo has reportedly sold over 85 million units of Switch software since launch.

Despite what some consider to be a disappointing showing at E3 2018, Nintendo is poised to have a monster holiday season in 2018.
Destiny 2 Moments of Triumph Checklist

The Solstice of Heroes is upon us, Guardians, which means a nearly month-long event where we take time to reflect on our past successes and failures. It also means new activities to participate in that will bring us new loot of the legendary and exotic nature. Some of that loot, however, is locked behind the Moments of Triumph checklist. Completing one of these Triumphs will grant you a varying amount of Triumph Points based on the difficulty of the task. These points can then be used to buy rewards, including a t-shirt from the Bungie store.

Moments of Triumph Rewards

The Moments of Triumph rewards are purely cosmetic, meaning that you’re not grinding for armor or weapons when you complete Triumphs. They include emblems, a ghost shell, an exclusive t-shirt, sparrow, and an exotic ship. The ship, however, is tied to upgrading three different sets of the Solstice armor.

Renewed Triumph (Legendary Emblem) - Any Triumph Completed

The Right Choice (Legendary Ghost Shell - 125 Triumph Points

Moments of Triumph Shirt - 250 Triumph Points*

Comrades in Arms (Legendary Sparrow) - 300 Triumph Points

Eternally Triumphant (Legendary Emblem) - 400 Triumph Points

Estival Excursion (Exotic Ship) - Legendary Armor Set for All Classes

*Earning 250 Triumph Points does not get you the t-shirt, it only gets you access to buy the t-shirt. You will receive a code which you take to the Bungie store, and then you can use that code to gain access to buy the t-shirt with real money.

Moments of Triumph Bounties (Triumphs)

Below is a list of all the Triumphs that need to be completed to earn Triumph Points, which are all part of the Moments of Triumph event. That’s a lot to sort through, but the base concept is that you complete the following objectives to earn the points required to unlock the rewards listed previously.

Bringer of Light - Finish Destiny 2’s Base Campaign - 10 Triumph Points

Follower of Osiris - Finish Curse of Osiris Campaign - 10 Triumph Points

Awaken the Warmind - Finish Warmind Campaign - 10 Triumph Points

The Hero We Deserve - Complete 25 Heroic Public Events - 10 Triumph Points

Treasure Hunter - Collect All Region Chests - 10 Triumph Points

Running Errands - Complete 25 Bounties - 10 Triumph Points

Check Out My Arsenal - Collect 25 Exotics Weapons or Armor - 15 Triumph Points

I Will Smash You - Defeat 100 Guards in the Crucible - 15 Triumph Points

Fleeting Memories - Collect All 45 Latent Memories - 15 Triumph Points

Adventurous - Complete 20 Adventures - 20 Triumph Points

Show Me The Way - Obtain Sagira’s Ghost Shell - 20 Triumph Points

Hive Extermination - Complete Tier 7 Escalation Protocol - 20 Triumph Points

In My Element - Collect 250 Elemental Orbs - 25 Triumph Points

Guardians, that’s a lot of work. Probably hundreds of hours of work. The Good news is that if you have kept up with Destiny 2 since launch, a huge chunk of these Triumphs should be done already. I was at 175 Triumph Points before I even began playing today, with only a few of the big ones left to knock off.

The Solstice of Heroes event will wrap up on August 28, 2018, so you have almost a month to get all the Triumphs required to complete your Moments of Triumph checklist. Once done, you’ll have access to a few rewards that only a small percentage of Guardians can obtain, so you’ll truly be unique.

Card reveals have begun for Hearthstone's next big expansion. The Boomsday Project will dive deep into science and technology, as part of the next set for the Year of the Raven.

This expansion features the new keyword Magnetic, new Omega Projects, and Legendary Spells. And as is the case with each new Hearthstone expansion, Shacknews is stepping into the lab to analyze each of the Boomsday Project's new cards. Before we get started, here's everything you might have missed:

Hearthstone: The Boomsday Project - The Dr. Boom, Mad Genius Design Interview
Hearthstone: The Boomsday Project - Analyzing Dr. Boom, Mad Genius

Hearthstone: The Boomsday Project Analysis Lab (Part 1)
Hearthstone: The Boomsday Project Analysis Lab (Part 2)
Hearthstone: The Boomsday Project Analysis Lab (Part 3)
Hearthstone: The Boomsday Project Analysis Lab (Part 4)

And now, let's continue with the next batch of cards.

(4) Juicy Psychmelon
Type: Spell
Class: Druid
Rarity: Epic
Draw a 7, 8, 9, and 10-Cost minion from your deck.
Source: QiGe on Douyu

Analysis: Over the last few days, it's become apparent that the Druid is going to be the big winner of this expansion. This is another tool that's going to help Druids get their game-winning combos ready, as they pluck out their high-value minions off a 4-Cost spell.

The Juicy Psychmelon is going to be especially killer in Wild, where Druids can use it to pulled out the necessary Exodia pieces for their OTK combo. Those include the 9-Cost Aviana or 9-Cost Malygos, the 10-Cost Kun the Forgotten King, and the 8-Cost Gloop Sprayer. The Druids are coming to take over and this is just another tool that's going to help them do it.

(5) Power Word: Replicate
Type: Spell
Class: Priest
Rarity: Epic
Choose a friendly minion. Summon a 5/5 copy of it.
Source: G2 Esports' RDU on YouTube

Analysis: Priests love their 5/5 copies. This is a slightly cheaper iteration of Shadow Essence, but with much less RNG involved. It'll be a big help to Quest Priests that want to create sturdy versions of their Deathrattle minions or create 5/5 copies of Legendaries with nasty effects.

Power Word: Replicate will particularly find a good home in Wild, where it'll fit in nicely with the Big Priest archetype. Played alongside cards like Eternal Servitude, this spell could get downright nasty.

(3) Augmented Elekk (3/4)
Type: Minion - Beast
Class: Neutral
Rarity: Epic
Whenever you shuffle a card into a deck, shuffle in an extra copy.
Source: RegisKillbin on YouTube

Analysis: This is a fascinating effect that could go a long way towards preventing fatigue in certain decks. Warriors running Dead Man's Hand may be particularly intrigued by this card, as it keeps them in the game for the long haul.

But let's face it, the real winner here is going to be the Rogue player, especially adopters of the new Pogo-Hopper minion. Playing Augmented Elekk alongside Lab Recruiter ensures that these rabbits will multiply like... er... rabbits! Look for Augmented Elekk to make the Miracle Rogue deck more dangerous than it already is.

(3) Necrium Blade (3/2)
Type: Weapon
Class: Rogue
Rarity: Rare
Deathrattle: Trigger the Deathrattle of a random friendly minion.
Source: GeekCulture on YouTube

Analysis: The Rogue just got its own Fiery War Axe and it's pretty strong, with the ability to set off Deathrattles after it's been used up. That could come in very handy in Arena, where players might be running minions like Violet Wurm.

As for the constructed player... well... let's table this for the moment. Trust me, we'll revist the Necrium Blade shortly.

(4) Thunderhead (3/5)
Type: Minion - Elemental
Class: Shaman
Rarity: Epic
After you play a card with Overload, summon two 1/1 Sparks with Rush.
Source: XiYou on Douyu

Analysis: Here's the Shaman picking up its own personal Violet Teacher, but one with a more intriguing effect. This will craft two 1/1s off of any spell with Overload and give them the ability to Rush an enemy minion right away. This could help in the control game by maybe picking off any stragglers off a Lightning Storm. Or it could help set the table for a game-ending Bloodlust.

Even Shaman players may want to give this guy a look, especially since they'll be running cards like Zap! and generating new spells with Hagatha the Witch. Flametongue Totem should also give those 1/1s an extra kick.

(4) Storm Chaser (3/4)
Type: Minion - Elemental
Class: Shaman
Rarity: Rare
Battlecry: Draw a spell from your deck that costs (5) or more.
Source: Poly on YouTube

Analysis: The Storm Chaser has some wild value, even if Hearthstone is reaching a place where 4-Mana for a 3/4 body is getting expensive. The Shaman player doesn't pack many good spells that cost over 5 mana, but it sure does pack a nice Volcano.

So yes, this card should pretty much just read "Draw a Volcano from your deck." It's a toss-up as to whether it'll see play in constructed, but in Arena, where Volcanos are both plentiful and a hot commodity, Storm Chaser will become a must-have.

(4) Replicating Menace (3/1)
Type: Minion - Mech
Class: Neutral
Rarity: Rare
Magnetic. Deathrattle: Summon three 1/1 Microbots.
Source: Tesdey on Twitch

Analysis: In a world with few Magnetic Mechs, this is on the lower end of the totem pole. The world wasn't asking for a more-expensive Eggnapper.

I wouldn't expect to see much of this guy anywhere. In Arena, it gets outpaced by aforementioned Eggnapper, while its Magnetic properties don't give it that much more of a boost in constructed. A Dr. Boom deck might get some use out of it as a Discover effect, since both the 3/1 body and the 1/1 leftovers get Rush, but that should be the only instance where Replicating Menace pops up.

(6) Security Rover (2/5)
Type: Minion - Mech
Class: Warrior
Rarity: Rare
Whenever this minion takes damage, summon a 2/3 Mech with Taunt.
Source: Thijs on YouTube

Analysis: Security Rover looks nice on paper, but it's hard to take it seriously when you consider it as a poor man's Hogger, Doom of Elwynn. I'm just saying, going from 6/6 stats to a 2/5 body is a big step down for just a single Mana Crystal.

But it's the Mech synergy that's going to make this, right? Thijs does point out in this video that this will play nicely with Magnetic mechs, potentially upgrading those paltry 2/5 stats. Combining this with Beryllium Nullifier on the next turn sounds particularly sweet. Just make sure Security Rover makes it through the next turn. It's highly vulnerable to removal. Or against a Priest player, it could be open to effects from minions like Cabal Shadow Priest.

(10) Mecha'thun (10/10)
Type: Minion - Mech
Class: Neutral
Rarity: Legendary
Deathrattle: If you have no cards in your deck, hand, and battlefield, destroy the enemy hero.
Source: IGN

Analysis: You can't keep an Old God down forever. And leave it to mad science to bring one of them back in a crazy new way.

Mecha'thun is the latest in cutting-edge Exodia technology. It's a literal last-ditch effort, one that only triggers when the player has absolutely nothing left in hand or in play. But as one would imagine, there are ways to make this happen.

Mage players have ways to run through their decks quickly, thanks to Aluneth, but they really don't have a solid way to trigger this Deathrattle. Warrior players can use a combination of any Whirlwind effect and Execute, but no reliable way to run through the deck quickly. Priest players have handy removal spells, like Shadow Word: Death, but because Mecha'thun is a full 10 mana, the Priest has to be careful that Mecha'thun isn't removed too early or that it isn't Silenced between the time it's played and the time they can play Shadow Word: Death.

There's the Druid, which could have some legs. The Druid can run through the deck fast, thanks to ramp spells, Nourish, and Ultimate Infestation. They could quickly finish with Mecha'thun, Innervate, and Naturalize. The trouble with this strategy is that Skulking Geist brings it to a screeching halt.

Then there's the Rogue player. Hey, remember I said we'd bring up Necrium Blade again? Well, here it is! It is entirely possible to play Necrium Blade on Turn 3 and leave it equipped until Myra's Unstable Element is ready on Turn 5. With the Rogue's deck exhausted, Mecha'thun can get deployed after all other cards have been played and Necrium Blade can activate the Deathrattle right away. The problem with this strategy is that Mecha'thun is a Turn 10 drop at the earliest, so the Rogue player needs to stall until it's ready. But if they have enough control tools at the ready, the Mecha'thun Rogue deck could be one that gains a lot of steam in the new meta.

(5) Necrium Vial
Type: Spell
Class: Rogue
Rarity: Epic
Trigger a friendly minion's Deathrattle twice.
Source: Kimmy on Huya

Anaylsis: After waxing poetic about the potential of the Mecha'thun Rogue, it's really hard to go from that to this. Sure, activating Deathrattles twice can be cool. The trouble is that the Standard Rogue doesn't have many strong Deathrattle cards to make the most of this effect. That could change between now and the expansion's release, but for now, it doesn't quite work.

The Wild Rogue, on the other hand, should have plenty of cards this can work with. Jade Rogues, in particular, should waste no time using the Necrium Vial to get as many Jades rolling as possible, triggering the Jade Swarmer or Aya Blackpaw. The Jade Rogue's numbers could quickly get out of control with this weapon at the ready.

(7) Dreampetal Florist (4/4)
Type: Minion
Class: Druid
Rarity: Epic
At the end of your turn, reduce the Cost of a random minion in your hand by (7).
Source: Hearthstone Express

Analysis: This just isn't fair.

So because the Malygos Druid clearly doesn't have enough tools to obliterate the opponent in a single turn, how about a minion that can discount into a 2-COST MALYGOS? Getting double Malygoses onto the board by pairing it with Faceless Manipulator, Ixlid, Fungal Lord, or whatever else has never been easier. And with Malygos coming down on the super cheap, it means those Swipe and Moonfire spells become a lot more affordable and painful.

I don't even want to talk about what this does in Wild, because holy smokes!

(1) The Soularium
Type: Spell
Class: Warlock
Rarity: Legendary
Draw 3 cards. At the end of your turn, discard them.
Source: Yahoo Esports Taiwan

Analysis: This is a fascinating spell for the Warlock player, because it fits in quite a few decks. The obvious one is the Quest Warlock, which needs to get online as quickly as possible, in order to work. Between this and Cataclysm, it should be fairly simple to fill the Quest requirements. Wild Warlocks should get even better use out of this, since then can use Malchezaar's Imp to either play what they draw or discard those cards and use the Imp's effect to draw new ones.

Zoolock should also benefit greatly from this spell, especially in the later turns. Since zoo players usually pack in cheaper minions and spells, they'd theoretically be able to use this spell and then play whatever they draw on the same turn before they're discarded. Overall, The Soularium is a strong spell and one that'll find a home in multiple Warlock decks.

That's all for now! Keep an eye on Shacknews over the next few weeks for more card breakdowns for The Boomsday Project, leading all the way up to the expansion's release on August 7.

Big budget console exclusives are still very important to the console manufacturers for a simple reason - they drive software and hardware sales. Sony released their first quarter earnings report this morning and are touting the fact that sales for the gaming division are up 36% year-on-year, in large part thanks to the performance of SIE Santa Monica’s God of War. Kratos’ latest adventure was huge for Sony this year, selling millions of copies and and further establishing the company’s position against Microsoft.

Sony reported operating income increased to 83.5 billion yen. The first quarter success has the company adjusting its yearly earnings expectations to accommodate for the upswing in hardware and software sales. The company also has another huge first party release in Spider-Man coming on September 7. A special edition PS4 Pro with Spider-Man theming will also be released at the same time and will likely be a big hit for the company.

Playground Games has firmly established itself as one of the prominent racing genre developers with the very strong Forza Horizon series, but the studio wants to broaden its...horizons. In an effort to flesh out the talent, the UK-based studio has recruited staff from EA Motive, BioWare, Rocksteady, Guerilla Games, and Ninja Theory for the recently-opened second studio. All of these new hires will be working on an unannounced open-world action RPG.

“I'm really pleased with the quality of the team we're building here at Playground," studio director Gavin Raeburn told GameIndustry.biz. "We continue to attract world-class talent from around the world thanks to our exciting projects and the passion of our team. It's been a fantastic start for our second studio and I look forward to seeing it continue to grow over the coming months.”

The full list of new staff goes as follows: Noel Lukasewich from BioWare, Rob den Dekker from Ninja Theory, Scotty Brown from EA Motive, Chris Goodall from Ninja Theory, Joe McKernan who's formerly of Playground, and Martin Lancaster from Rocksteady Studios.

Playground Games and Ninja Theory are a couple of the studios that Microsoft revealed it had acquired during E3 2018, so staff shift between the two makes perfect sense. The other staff additions show that Playground Games is aiming for the stars with this unrevealed RPG and, hopefully, it will reach the levels of quality shown in the Forza Horizon series. Stay tuned to Shacknews for additional updates.

Sea of Thieves Patch Notes 1.2.0 Introduces Skeleton Ships and the Brigantine

Sea of Thieves has received its next major update in the form of Cursed Sails, and with it comes a whole lot of patch notes identified as update 1.2.0. This update includes a whole host of changes, improvements, and most importantly, more content!

Headlining these changes are skeletons, who have become far more of a threat as they head to the sea in their own ships. These skeleton ships pose a brand new threat for players as they assault the various outposts scattered around the map as part of a time-limited campaign. At the end of the campaign, these ships will remain on the sea, becoming one more danger pirates will need to contend with while sailing.

Beyond a new threat, players will be able to get their hands on dozens of new cosmetic items, including new skeleton-themed Bone Crusher items, new hair styles, the ability to dye hair, new Bilge Rat adventures and commendations, as well as ship liveries.

Cursed Sails

This content update introduces and showcases a raft of new features which will persist in Sea of Thieves beyond the time-limited campaign.

Cursed Sails Campaign - Pirate dominion on the Sea of Thieves is being challenged, by the dead! Skeletons are taking to the waters in grim galleons, united and spurred on by a mysterious captain. Armed with cursed cannonballs that sow chaos and confusion, the dead make war on the living in Cursed Sails! Watch out for banners on the Outposts, calling you out to battle skeleton ships over the course of three weeks. You can also take a break from the action to investigate the source of the skeleton scourge, following a tale of greed and madness starting with a hint from the Bilge Rats. The introduction of Alliances between crews and the new three-pirate Brigantine ship may help to even the odds. Prepare for battle, pirates!

New Threat - Skeleton ships have arrived from the depths of the Sea of Thieves with a variety of cursed cannonballs. Blast them from afar or board their vessel if you fancy your chances face-to-face! Beware of the cursed cannonballs, their effects may turn the tide of battle in the blink of an eye.

Brigantine - Positioned nicely between the bulk of the Galleon and agility of the Sloop, the Brigantine has been perfectly designed for three pirates to sail to victory.

Alliances - A new "Offer Alliance" pennant flag has been added to the Flag Box in the crow’s nest, along with options to both "Join Alliance" and "Leave Alliance". Don't have a mic? Use the "LET'S FORM AN ALLIANCE!" option when holding a speaking trumpet to show your intentions! Form alliances with other crews you encounter on the Sea of Thieves to share in both adventure and reward. Just be careful who you trust, we are pirates after all!

Eye of Reach Skeletons - The march of war has inspired skeletons to pick up the Eye of Reach, causing them to pose a threat from a longer distance than ever before. Take care across the entire map, these eagle-eyed foes aren't only found in the crow’s nest of skeleton ships.

Bone Crusher Ship Liveries - Won all the battles? Part with your Doubloons for the time-limited Bone Crusher Sails, Hull, Figurehead and Flag liveries throughout Cursed Sails!

World Region Sails - Conquer the battles in each world region to earn The Ancient Isles Sail, The Shores of Plenty Sail and The Wilds Sail.

Bone Crusher Scar and Tattoo - Conquer all three battles to earn the time-limited Bone Crusher Scar and Tattoo set, which will appear in your Vanity Chest.

Price drops - The arrival of the skeleton fleets has the shopkeepers panicked, so you’ll find significantly reduced prices across all the Outposts during Cursed Sails!

Commendations - Earn 22 standard Commendations and two Legendary Commendations as part of Cursed Sails. The standard Commendations are only available to earn throughout this time-limited campaign – however, the Legendary Commendations are here to stay! Remember, being a three-week campaign means not all Commendations will be achievable within the same week.

Bilge Rat Titles - Earn five unique titles introduced with the Cursed Sails Campaign and equip them straight from the Vanity Chest!

Bilge Rat Doubloons - There are 200 Bilge Rat Doubloons available for the standard Commendations, and an additional 100 Bilge Rat Doubloons available for completing the Legendary Commendations. Each of the Cursed Sails Commendations on the Bilge Rat progress screen details the number of Bilge Rat Doubloons it rewards. Remember, being a three-week campaign means not all Doubloons will be achievable within the same week!

Customisation Variety

Hunter Set - The Hunter clothing, items, weapons and ship liveries are now stocked across all Outposts. Spend your hard-earned gold on this sleek new set!

Bone Crusher Set - The Bone Crusher belt, boots, eye patch, gloves, hook and peg leg are now stocked in the Outpost Clothing Shops. Also get your hands on the Bone Crusher equipment and instruments from the Equipment Shops, all in exchange for gold. Missed the rest of the Bone Crusher set made available during Bilge Rat Adventures? Not to worry, these will be back in the future... so keep your eyes peeled!

Ghost Ship Liveries - Pirate Legends can now purchase the Ghost Ship Sails, Hull, Figurehead and Flag from within the Hideout. These require varying levels of progression within Athena's Fortune to unlock.

Hair Styles - 13 new hairstyles are now available to all pirates from the Vanity Chest. The High Society hairstyle is purchasable in the Outpost Clothing Shops in exchange for some gold coin.

Hair Dye - 13 colours of hair dye are now available to all pirates, straight from the Vanity Chest. Now is the time to spruce up your pirate! Perhaps you long for a colour that really brings out your eyes, perfect for your enemies to peer into as they fall to their watery grave!

Performance Improvements

Further improvements and optimisations for all platforms are ongoing.

Fixed Issues

The Chest of Sorrows can now sink a ship when dropped as intended.

Known Issues

Skeleton Forts and Kraken are temporarily disabled due to performance issues. We are working to enable these features as quickly as possible.

Some players travel in an unintended direction when fired from a cannon. We have a fix for this issue currently in testing and are looking to get this rolled out in an update very soon.

Some players may continue to hear muffled sound after being fired from a cannon. We have a fix for this issue coming in our next update. As a temporary solution, being fired out of a cannon again clears the muffled sound.

Some Skeleton Thrones Titles were not correctly awarded to players who completed the required Commendations. We have rolled out a fix for this issue and awarded these missing titles to affected players.

Players speaking to a Gold Hoarder NPC at an Outpost may incorrectly receive "The Hungering Deep Begins" banners. We have a fix for this and it will be issued in next week's build.

Fortnite’s Battle Royale mode is going to be a little bit more explosive thanks to Content Update 5.10 and its new Limited Time Mode, Fly Explosives. As the name suggests, for a limited time players can take to the skies in a new mode that features the previously-vaulted jetpack and the notoriously overpowered guided missile – though the latter is now toned down to stop it from being a doomsday weapon.
