MAC Hey, Sailor: Crew Highlight Powder, Suntints SPF 20 Lip Balm and Blush Swatches and Review

Here is Part 4 of the MAC Hey, Sailor series. In this post, the Crew Highlight Powder, Suntints SPF 20 Lip Balmn and the blushes are the focus.

Crew High-light powder

MAC Crew High-light Powder (SRP $28) is a combination of three different highlight and/or cheek color shades: a soft peachy shade, a blue-based pink shade, and a sort of lavender shade. When swirled together, they give this soft pink finish. It looks chalky in the swatches, and I believe that's because this is not meant to be applied heavily, or this is not meant to be too pigmented on the skin. I can see this as a complexion enhancer, like some of those Laura Geller baked body frosting or even Bare Minerals radiances. I don't know if this can really be a highlight powder, as I imagine highlighters to be like MAC mineralize skinfinishes. I do think that this can work for light to medium-dark skintones. I think (although I am not 100% certain) that this will look chalky on dark skintones just because of the finish and the light shades. It does brighten the complexion and makes it look less dull, but as I highlight powder, I am not sure, unless MAC's concept of a highlight powder is different from mine.

Suntints SPF 20 Lip Balm:

The Suntints (SRP $16) are some of my favorite lip balms from MAC. This is because I am a sucker for SPF protection. I don't know why my lip balms have no SPF in them, when I am very particular about slathering sunscreen on my face. It seems that my whole face is protected everyday except the lips! I am glad MAC brought back the Sun Tints in this collection.

Honestly, I live in a very hot environment during summer, and I am very particular about slathering sunscreen on my face (nothing lower than SPF 30) and my body (I use SPF 100 most of the time). But I ALWAYS forget to put sunscreen on my lips. This product is probably the best product for me. It has the famous MAC vanilla scent. The texture is not sticky, and it reminds me of MAC's lip gelees, but a bit thicker.

This collection has 3 Suntints variants. Sea Mist is a peachy nude with pearl, Abalone is a sheer hot pink with no pearl, and Au Rose is a poppy coral pink with gold pearl. My favorite has got to be Au Rose, as I am a sucker for corals with gold pearl. They don't impart much pigment, so they always look sheer on the lips when worn alone. This is fine with me because I am really after the SPF20 in these products more than the pigment or shade itself.

This collection features two blushes (SRP $21): Launch Away! which is a true peach in the satin formula, and Fleet Fast, a pinky golden coral in the satin formula as well. I think the bestseller is Fleet Fast, as I see a lot of people liking this. It is very pretty and I think one of the more unusual colors in my blush stash. I can really see myself using this a lot, as this suits my coloring. I also think it is a universal color that mostly everyone can wear.

All in all, I am liking Fleet Fast blush in this particular group the best. I also like all the Suntints because of their sun protection, and I will definitely be using them this summer. Crew High-light powder works more like a complexion enhancer, and will perk up dull, tired complexions. I am not sure how it can work as a highlight product, though.

Here is Part 3 of the MAC Hey, Sailor reviews and swatches. This time, I focus on the eye products- eye shadows, Powerpoint eye liners, pigments. As I mentioned in my previous Hey, Sailor reviews, the MAC Hey, Sailor collection is MAC's summer offering for 2012. It features nautically-inspired navy blue and white striped packaging that look really classy, trendy yet classic at the same time.

Of course, the eye shadow cases also have the navy and white sailor stripes. I really do like this packaging better than that of the past few MAC summer collections. That said, I am a little underwhelmed by the choices in this collection. However, I am SO glad there is no teal shadow in this collection. I am tired of seeing teal shades in every summer collection (it seems). However, I like that they incorporated some tarnished golds and tarnished beiges, like Barefoot (tarnished gold in the veluxe pearl formula) and Jaunty, described as a light yellow beige frost. I see this more of a light tarnished gold. Jaunty is one of the bestsellers from the collection, if I base it on the reviews and reactions of people about this shade. This reminds me so much of one of my favorite MAC limited edition shadows of all time, Summer Neutral, from an old collection long ago. This works as a very nice, everyday wash of color, very laidback and natural but definitely not your usual shade.

Crystal Avalance is a white with reflects in the veluxe pearl formula. I was also drawn to this shade, but since it is a permanent color, I wouldn't pay the extra dollar for me to get this. I might as well just get the pro pan and save a couple of bucks.

Barefoot, as I said, is a tarnished gold, and I would love to have this, if only I feel that I already have some shadows that are similar to this. It is lovely though and can be paired with Jaunty.

Feeling Fresh is like a bright kelly green in the frost formula, but it is a little too patchy without a tacky base underneath. I might use this as a lower lashline liner as well.

Nautical is pretty shade because it has these small pearl that makes it a bit brighter. It is a navy blue in the satin formula.

All in all, I am not really wowed by these shadows with the exception of Jaunty, but only because it reminds me of my favorite shadow, Summer Neutral.

Pigments:

I am not wowed by the pigments. They are old repromotes and these have never been my favorites, not because they are ugly, but because I can find similar shades that are not as messy to apply. Old Gold is a high frosted tarnished gold frost, and Naval Blue is a deep smoky blue frost. As with most MAC pigments, the intensity of these becomes stronger when foiled (applied wet with a mixing medium).

Powerpoint Eye Pencils:

I've been a fan of the Powerpoint eye pencils just because they work well. Period. There's nothing really special or fantastic or magical about them, they just perform just like eye pencils should. They glide well, they don't tug at the lids, they stay put, they are pigmented. I just noticed that these new ones are quite short? I mean, I am used to longer MAC pencils, but I may be wrong, but my old Powerpoint pencils (or at least my MAC pencil liners) used to be longer. I like the performance of these pencils, but for $19, I expect more product.

All in all, I have a few choices for the eye products. I really like Jaunty, Barefoot and Nautical eye shadows, in that order. Other than that, I know I've seen these shades before.

As I had mentioned in my MAC Hey, Sailor: Pro LongWear Bronzing Powder and Bronzing Powder Swatches and Review, the MAC Hey, Sailor collection is MAC's summer offering for 2012. It features nautically-inspired navy blue and white striped packaging that looks really classy, trendy yet classic at the same time. I think this is one of my favorite MAC summer packagings ever. In this entry, the focus will be on the lipsticks and lipglasses of this collection.

The lipsticks have your typical red, coral and neutral shades, but I like how a frosted tan is incorporated in this collection, maybe to allude to bronzed skin and glistening lips of summer. Salute! is a neutral peach in the amplified formula, but I feel that this might be too light on my skintone and might wash me out. To Catch A Sailor is the highly frosted tan one, and it would probably look good on medium to darker skintones. Red Racer is a bright yellow red in the satin formula that I will wear tomorrow (and will post pictures!), and Sail La Vie is a bright mid-tone orange in the satin formula. Red Racer is of course the lipstick counterpart of Send Me Sailing lipglass as they are both yellow-based reds. Sail La Vie is the same bright mid-tone orange as Riviera Life.

First of all, I love the striped tubes, both on the lipsticks' and lipglasses'. The lipglasses look really nice with the striped cap as well. The lipglasses look really nice in this collection. I especially love Riviera Life, a bright tangerine with some sparkly pearl. If Caqui and Sonoran Rain lipglass from MAC Bloggers' Obsessions had a lovechild, it would be Riviera Life. It has the orange shade of Caqui with the vibrancy and shimmery finish of Sonoran Rain. Riviera Life also has the gold pearl of Sonoran Rain. Cut Loose is a very interesting color. It is a white gold with pearl. This will definitely give dimension and sheen to lipsticks if you layer Cut Loose on top. There's a very old lipglass from the Danse collection called Pas De Deux that I used to give my lippies some depth and shimmer, and I think Cut Loose would give the same effect as well.

I own Orange Tempera but I forgot to take a photo of it; I will post it later. It is in the regular packaging because I got it from MAC's fall collection of last year. The sales associate/makeup artist said that Orange Tempera was one of their bestsellers, and I can understand why. It's a very pretty pale peach cream with no shimmer. Blessedly Rich is a pale coral with shimmer, and I think this is a finicky color and would work great on medium to darker skintones. Lastly, Send Me Sailing is a bright yellow red that is perfect for summer. It is a sheerer than the other lipglasses in this collection, but the vibrant hue makes up for it.

All in all, I didn't see any unique shades, with the exception of Riviera Life which I feel is the only must-have lip product from this collection. I would also opt for Cut Loose and Orange Tempera lipglasses. The pretty packaging makes up for the lack of unique shades, but I feel that most people will find a shade in the lip products that they'd be interested in.

The lipglasses and lipsticks both retail for $15.50 each.

Here is the first of a series of blog entries on the MAC Hey, Sailor collection. This is MAC's summer collection for 2012, and just like the Nautically inspired collections from past years, this collection pays homage to the familiar and iconic sailor-inspired navy blue and white stripes in terms of packaging. I am really liking the look of these compacts and cases, as they look chic and timeless. I think this is a lot better than the packaging of the summer collection from last year, Surf Baby.

Pro LongWear Bronzing Powder:

In this entry, I will be reviewing the Pro LongWear bronzing powders as well as the regular bronzing powders that are part of this collection. The Pro LongWear bronzing powders are the genius products from this collection, simply because summer and the scorching heat usually melt off makeup in as little as one or two hours, so everyone needs a good bronzing powder that will stay put under the elements. MAC showcases two limited edition Pro LongWear bronzing powders in this collection, Nude On Board, a bronzy-yellow toned bronzer, and Sun Dipped, dirty red in tone. This formula is a limited edition by MAC, so I highly recommend that you get a least one if you want to try a bronzing powder with a more lasting formula. In my experience, this product lasted 3 to 4 hours longer than the regular bronzing powders. It took me to work and back with it still apparent on my cheeks, although slightly faded, which is still a great feat since it was 106 degrees outside. Granted that I didn't stay outside the whole day, it still stayed on and didn't budge despite the exposure to intense heat. For that, this formula gets my vote.

The formula is a finely-milled, jet-milled powder that goes very smoothly and creamy on the skin. I was amazed at the slip and texture. My only gripe is that the formula is limited edition (at least for now), and the shades are very similar to my eyes. I hope MAC releases more shades with a diversity of range and depth in this formula.

Bronzing Powder:

Refined Golden is I believe a part of the permanent range, and is a fixture in summer collections. It is described as a finely spun gold with soft pearl finish. It's nice but sometimes it's a little too dark for my skintone. My favorite shade of all these bronzing powders is Soft Sand. It is a golden bronze that has fine gold pearl, and is perfect for my skintone.

The regular bronzing powder is not as creamy or jet-milled as the Pro Longwears, but they are also easy to apply and blend, although they obviously don't last as long as the Pro Longwears. If only MAC can come up with Soft Sand in the Pro Longwear formula, I'd be a happy camper!

All in all, the bronzing powders are okay (and not as exciting as the Pro Longwears because they've been around before). The star is obviously the Pro Longwear and rightly so. I hope the formula finds itself in the permanent range soon.

Pixi Glow Catching Shadows Crayon Swatches and Review

Pixi Beauty collaborated with Disney to launch a unique collection called PixiGlow, inspired by Disney's most iconic fairy, Tinker Bell. I already did a review of the eye, lip and face palette called Pixi Glow Fairy Face Palette. This time, the focus is on PixiGlow Catching Shadows Crayon in Beaming Reflection. It's exactly what it's called, a shadow crayon, and it's a cream-to-powder formula, meaning it glides like a cream but dries like powder shadow. It has light-reflecting particles that are so pretty, and it gives a shimmery effect that is not over-the-top.

It is pretty on its own, but I mostly use this as an eye shadow primer. You know how sometimes your eye shadow base works well but is not tacky enough (Think UD primer potion)? Sometimes the lack of tackiness makes the eye shadows not adhere well on the skin. The Catching Shadows Crayon in Beaming Reflection gives a very pretty shimmery base that is very subtle. I use it over my main eye shadow primer, and it makes the shadows adhere better on the lids. Over a powder shadow, the radiance still shines through without being too shimmery. This makes my shadows last the entire day without creasing or fading. I also love the shimmery beige tone, it is ageless and can be worn pretty much by everybody no matter what age or skintone.

I am really a fan of this product and has become my favorite tacky eye shadow base of late. It is a no-transfoer, waterproof and line-smoothing product, free of parabens, fragrance, triclosan, sulfates and phthalates. The PixiGlow Catching Shadows Crayon is available exclusively at Target.

Green Eye Look Using Jesse's Girl Mineralized Baked Powder in Kiwi Shine

I hate it when work gets in the way of blogging! Been really busy at work but now I am back... Here's a review and look featuring Jesse's Girl Mineralized Baked Powder in Kiwi Shine. This particular shade is one of my favorite eye shadow shades ever. I like how this particular shade brightens up my lower lid. I know that green looks great on brown eyes, so I can never have too many green shadows. This particular one by Jesse's Girl is pretty special, though.

This reminds me of the baked mineral shadows I own, but I was shocked at how affordable this is. I've always had the impression that baked shadows are more expensive than regular ones because they're usually hand-crafted and baked for 24 hours in terracotta pans. I was pleasantly surprised when I found out that this baked shadow costs only $3.99. What a steal! As with typical baked shadows, Kiwi Shine has a vibrant hue but it gets brighter and more pigmented when foiled (wet application). I foiled Kiwi Shine in the look below using MAC Charged Water, and it really applied well with a nice pigmented sheen.

As you can see, the pigmentation becomes more intense and vibrant when the product is foiled. I also love how the green has a gold flash to it. Quite pretty!

For this eye look, I used Kiwi Shine foiled on lid, the green Rainbow shadow from Inglot (#109R) on the crease, and MAC Grand Entrance (dark hunter green) from the Holiday 2008 Warm Eyes palette on the outer lid. I also used my favorite highlighter, an Inglot yellowish white pearl shadow in #393.

All in all, I am pretty impressed with Jesse's Girl Mineralized Baked Powder shadows. They are quite affordable and yet pigmented especially when foiled, and also lasts a decent time with a good base.

Summer is upon us, and what better way to celebrate the onset of warmer weather than smooth, silky soft skin? It's time for shorts, minis, and bikinis, and yes, the razor is a woman's best friend. Schick introduces Hydro Silk™ Razor, and Schick claims that it hydrates longer than any other razor, leaving skin silky smooth. It has a water-activated serum that moisturizes skin throughout each shave and for up to 2 hours after shaving. It also helps the razor to glide comfortably on the skin with each stroke.

A new feature for this razor is the Curve-Sensing Blades; they are individually supported blades that can move independently from each other to allow the razor to safely and effectively maneuver over knees & ankles. To compare, neither the Schick® Quattro for Women®, nor the Schick® Intuition® Razor have individually supported blades. This is good news for women who are razor nick-prone, like me. There are also Skin Guards that are attached to each of the 5 Curve-Sensing blades along the cutting edges. They are thin strips of material which work to smooth skin flow as you shave and help you get a close and comfortable shave with less irritation.

It seems like each and every concern of a woman with regard to shaving has been addressed and covered! When I tried it, the one thing I noticed was that it really had a very smooth, very efficient and yet comfortable glide on the skin. I've been using this for a few weeks and I have not experienced one nick. The Silk Guards do protect sensitive skin and yet allows a close yet smooth and comfortable glide of the razor on the skin. I also like the fact that after shaving, my legs don't feel itchy like they're dying of thirst and need lotion right away. This razor does not give me that uncomfortable itchy feeling that only a thick slather of lotion can relieve. I guess it's true that this product does hydrate longer than most razors.

For the best results, shave in the shower. To activate the Moisturizing Serum, place the Schick® Hydro SilkTM Razor cartridge under running water for a few seconds. According to Schick, how long the Water-Activate Moisturizing Serum lasts varies depending on each woman’s shaving habits and usage, as well as environmental factors in the location where the shaving occurs, i.e. bathroom, shower, etc. In recent external consumer testing, respondents stated that the Water-Activated Serum lasted for an average of 11 shaves.

My only gripe is that the suction cup of the shower hanger does not work on my bathroom walls; it always falls down, detaching the cartridge from the body of the razor.

All in all, I can say that the Schick® Hydro Silk™ is better than the past Schick razors I've tried, along with other feminine razors. This also properly hydrates my skin better than the men's razors I also use.

China Glaze Summer Neons 2012

China Glaze comes up with 12 new neon, retina-searing shades for Summer 2012. These are bright shades that are perfect for lounging by the poolside, great with flipflops or sexy strappy heels, and just basically anything celebrating summer and warm weather. Here are some swatches of China Glaze Summer Neons 2012 and my thoughts on them.

China Glaze Sun Kissed

Sun-Kissed is your hot highlighter yellow shade. When I saw this shade, I really thought about my yellow highlighter as soon as I swatched it. It's a pretty neon yellow with some sort of shimmery finish, although it dries matte like typical neons do.

China Glaze I'm With The Lifeguard

I'm With the Lifeguard is an amazing glimmering lime green neon. This is also a nice shade if you are not into the typical pinks and corals. This also has a slight shimmery but matte finish.

China Glaze Orange You Hot?

Orange You Hot? is a bright orange with gold shimmer. The shimmer is really quite pretty and is a must if you like oranges. I am usually not into straight oranges because they somehow make my hand look dirty. This however does not.

China Glaze Flirty Tankini

Flirty Tankini is one of my top favorites from this collection. It is a strawberry smoothie pink. It also has the shimmer finish that I adore. The unusual color made me fall in love with this.

China Glaze Pink Plumeria

China Glaze Pink Plumeria with Cover Band's Sticks and Stones glitter lacquer on top

Pink Plumeria is also a favorite next to Flirty Tankini. It is a bit similar to the latter, but it is lighter and has gold shimmer. This is quite feminine albeit the neon finish and would make a great mani or pedi color.

China Glaze Surfin' for the Boys

Surfin For The Boys is a glistening bright coral. If you are into corals, this is the perfect shade for you. I like corals because they have a touch of red to balance the orange hue.

China Glaze Love's a Beach

China Glaze Love's a Beach topped with All That Glitters' Spottie Dottie Silvie glitter top coat

Love's a Beach is for hot pink lovers. So pretty and perfect for summer, and would look amazing with sexy strappy heels or flops as a pedicure color.

China Glaze Hang Ten Toes

China Glaze Hang Ten Toes topped with All That Glitters' Spottie Dottie Goldie glitter top coat

Hang Ten Toes is a tad lighter than Love's A Beach and is your perfect bubblegum pink neon. This is also blue-based to my eyes because it has iridescent purple shimmer that is gorgeous.

China Glaze Beach Cruiser

Beach Cruise-r is a glimmering fuchsia grape that looks like an orchid pink neon to me. This is actually in my top favorites along with Flirty Tankini. This shade looks amazing because it is quite pigmented and yet neon at the same time.

China Glaze Under The Boardwalk

Under the Boardwalk is described as a flourescent raspberry, a neon berry. I like it but I like Beach Cruise-r better which is a tad lighter than Under the Boardwalk.

China Glaze Splish Splash

China Glaze Splish Splash topped with All That Glitters' The Jean Genie glitter polish

Splish Splash is also one of my top faves. It is a beautiful neon blue shimmer that is just amazing in its brightness. Enough said.

China Glaze Ride the Waves

Ride The Waves is the sheerest out of all the 12 shades and has the most jelly-like, squishy finish. It is a neon dark ocean blue.

Most of these neons have a glistening but matte finish that is kinda hard to describe. It has shimmer but it is not shiny but a bit flat. You would have to add a topcoat for it to have a really shiny finish. Also, the formula has a bit of a learning curve. It is not as easy to apply as cremes but it is easier to apply and less finicky than let's say some holographic polishes. However, it is not hard to apply these as long as you let each coat completely dry first before applying the next. In my experience, these shades are fully opaque in 2-3 coats.

All in all, I really like these neons. They don't have the flat, matte finish of neon polishes in the past. These have a slight glimmer to them that is fascinating. I like Sun-Kissed, Flirty Tankini, Splish Splash and Under the Boardwalk the best.

I was able to try Too Faced's Better Than False Lashes. Too Faced actually describes this as a Lash Extension System with Flexistretch™ Nylon Fibers. The set comes with two tubes: One is the mascara base and top coat which looks like your typical mascara, and the other one is like cobweb-engulfed brush. I know it sounds gross but that's what I thought of when I first saw it.

This system is touted as an alternative to false lashes or lash extensions. The Flexistretch™ Nylon Fibers melt into the activating mascara to stretch and hold the shape of lashes. The Activating mascara aims to lengthen the appearance of lashes, while the nylon fibers coat the lashes and make it look more lush and voluminous. In a study, Too Faced claims that 98% saw longer lashes, and 42% saw increase in lash length, and 98% saw an increase in lash volume. So let's put this to the test!

No mascara

Take note that I have REALLY short, sparse, stick-straight lashes, which is partly due to my asian genes. That said, I don't think ANY product will give me super long, super lush lashes. However, this kit did give me the longer lashes I want. I really like the Activating ascara. I might use this on its own even without the Flexistretch™ just because the mascara is good even on its own. The Flexistretch made my lashes look clumpy in the photo, but in real life, it made it look like I had more lashes. As I said, even without the Flexistretch, the Activating Mascara did its job.

Count me as part of the 98% who noticed longer-looking lashes. I think it elongated my lashes and gave them an extra 2 mm in length. I am impressed with the Activating mascara. As for volume, I did see a slight increase, but I was more impressed with the lengthening properties.

All in all, this set is good for those who want to see a marked difference in length and volume. I like the Flexistretch because it was my first time to use it and it was different from the other lash volume builders that I've tried. However, I liked the Activating mascara even more as it performed really well and lengthened my lashes even on its own.

Laura Geller Tahitian Glow Baked Body Frosting Swatches and Review

Same huge size: MAC Wonder Woman XL mineralize skinfinish, Laura Geller Tahitian Glow Baked Body Frosting

I've always liked Laura Geller's baked makeup, but this is my first time to try her body product that can be used for both face and body. This is a supersized product that is the same size as the gigantic MAC Wonderwoman mineralize skinfinish that barely fits the palm of my hand. It also has a flocked sponge that fits neatly inside, although I prefer to use my duo fibre brush for applying this.

The Laura Geller Tahitian Glow Baked Body Frosting (the name makes me hungry) is made in Italy, starts as a rich liquid that is poured onto terracotta pans, and baked for 24 hours. It is a fine, silky smooth powder that delivers a nice sheen on the skin, think "the J.Lo glow". As with highlighters, glows make the skin look instantly youthful as they blur imperfections and mimic the dewy complexion of youth. This can be used wet or dry: dry for a subtle glow or wet for a more intense beach-esque radiance. I personally like to use it dry, because too much looks too metallic on my skin.

The swatches were applied dry. As you can see, even if applied dry, it really imparts a beautiful glow to the skin. I thought that this might give my skin a fake dark tan sheen, but it is actually a beautiful glow that gives warmth to the skin and gives it a healthy sort of color and radiance. And that is why this is called Tahitian Glow, because skin does look like you've just gotten back from vacationing in the Tahitian islands (although I'd die if a company would make a product named "Boracay Glow" in honor of my favorite beach in the world).

The ingredients include white tea and Centella Asiatica- a powerful antioxidant, and ceraphyl oil which actually moisturizes and gives a dewy look to the skin. Best of all, it's paraben and mineral oil-free.

I am honestly loving this product. It does not give a too frosty of a sheen, but just the right glow that reflects youthful radiance. I also love how HUGE this is; I know this will last me forever. If you are using this for a big even or a night out, you can apply this wet on your shoulders or even the decolletage for a dramatic, head-turning glow.

The Bobbi Brown Treatment Lip Shine is a very lightweight, softshine lipstick that is supposed to bring added moisture treatment to your lips. It has Cocoa and Shea Butters, Jojoba, Apricot Kernel and Avocado oils to moisturize, and vitamin C and Paracress to help stimulate collagen production, which the brand claims reduces fine lines and wrinkles. Technically, it is your lip balm, soft-shine lipstick and lip treatment in one.

They are housed in these chic black metal tubes that are reminiscent of the original MAC Slimshine lipsticks. It has the name Bobbi Brown conspicuously inscribed on the tube, and the product looks really sleek as it comes out of the gold-toned mini-shaft.

I tried the four shades and true to Bobbi Brown's description, these are indeed lightweight with a soft, luscious shine that is perfect for summer. My favorite is Pink Seashell, a really lovely peachy pink sheen that just makes my lips luscious-looking without the heavy shine of lipglosses. Sunset Beach is a bronzey shade that is great for medium to darker skintones. Peach Sorbet is a nice peach-coral shade, and Orchid Pink is a light cool pink. If you are looking for strong pigmentation or high-gloss, this product is not for you. These Lip Shines just impart the most subtle gloss and color, and has the lightweight look and feel that we most often associate with summer.

As for their lip pampering properties, I do attest that these Lip Shines moisturize and make the lips soft. However, I would still apply a lip balm underneath as there is some drag when it is applied on the lips; it doesn't glide as smooth and buttery on the lips as when you apply a lip balm beforehand. However, once it is applied, it feels moisturizing and soft on the skin. I would however still reapply lip balm as my lips are extra dry and would need the added moisture of a hydrating lip product.

All in all, this reminds me of MAC Sheen Supreme or Revlon Lip Butters, but without the super shiny finish. These Lip Shines have a soft shine but not gloss-like. It gives a soft sheen on the lips that is really pretty. I would use a separate lip balm with this as my lips are always chappy.
