Well, for the past couple of years, Michael Stelzner of the Writing White Papers blog has done a “Top 10 Blogs For Writers” post, and it has been amazingly successful in terms of driving traffic to those blogs that make the list.

To participate, all you need to do is leave a comment at his post explaining why you think a given blog is worthy of making the Top 10.

In the past, great blogs like Men With Pens, Freelance Writing Jobs, and Copyblogger have all made the cut.

I can’t stress how important it is for the first book in this series to sell well. I know just about everyone out there has read it, and that you are all anxiously awaiting books two and three. But the publisher and I wanted to do this as a full set and sales of the first book are clearly going to impact how quickly we get the next two out to the market.

So it would be great to see a good number of pre-orders come in next week when Full Moon makes the announcement that things are ready to go. I can guarantee you won’t be disappointed - these books are going to be beautiful!

I was quite happily surprised to receive an email from Ralf Muller, CEO of Droemer-Knaur, this past week informing me that my novel DER ENGEL was one of only fifty titles specifically selected by DK to be featured in the launch of their new ebook program.

Like me, Kealan is always looking for new ways to get his work in front of a wider audience and this time he’s come up with an intriguing concept.  In partnership with Underland Press, Kealan is writing a wovel.

What’s that?  What the heck is a wovel?  Well, everyone knows that a wovel is a…well it’s…um…

What the heck is a wovel?  Turns out that a wovel is a “web novel” according to the publisher.  Here’s what they have to say about it:

It is the first of its kind. The author writes it. The readers vote on it. Here’s how it works:

Every week, the author posts an installment. Installment length hits the sweet-spot of online reading—long enough to get interested, short enough to read in the cubicle at work. At the end of every installment, the author writes in a plot branch point. Does the heroine kill her lover? Will the zombies catch the soldier? Is the box empty, or is it filled with bees?

THE READERS DECIDE.

On Monday, the post goes up. Voting is open through Thursday. The author writes Thursday and Friday. The editors edit Friday and Saturday. The post goes back up on Monday. Like I said, an interesting concept and in the hands of Kealan, I’m sure it will be an interesting read as well. I’ve just discovered the project, so I’m going back and reading chapter one before catching up with this week’s post, chapter two.

Knowing the Templar’s reluctance to deal with individuals utilizing arcane abilities, Clearwater and her coven have made a point of avoiding the men of the Echo Team, but when the strength of their enemy leaves them no choice but to reveal themselves to the Knights, they suggest an alliance against their common foe.

Reluctantly, Cade agrees. By combining the arcane power of the hedge witches with the military firepower of the Templars, the allies are able to gain the upper hand against the demonic forces invading the town and begin driving them back.

Their biggest challenge still awaits them, however, as they come face to face with the angel of Babylon, the half human-half demon sorcerer at the heart of the assault.

This new novella-length work will be published in beautiful collector’s formats in both a limited hardcover edition and a leather-bound lettered edition by Bad Moon Books early next year. (I know you all want it NOW, but I still have to write it first!) Like all Bad Moon publications, this volume with featuring interior artwork, a stunning cover, and be available only in a limited printing.
