I get questions about them all the time. So I wanted to share with you some tips and tricks so you can get the most out of your sweeper covers.

1. These reusable cotton covers work great when used dry. They pick up all kinds of grit, grime, and definitely hair balls whether its the human kind or from your furry friends.
2. They can also be used wet. No need to ONLY use them dry.  They absorb really well. I know many people that  make their own natural floor cleaner and spray the cleaner on the floor, then clean it up with the sweeper mop. These same reusable covers can also fit most wet mops.
3. After using your sweeper covers on one side, flip them inside out.  Then place the cover back on your sweeper and you can get a second use out of it before having to wash it.
4. When it is time to wash your covers, you can just throw them in the wash with your towels.  Some of the darker colors may bleed, so please make sure to check them before doing so.  Some people would rather hand wash theirs to avoid putting all the dirt and hair in with their towels and also in their washing machine. 
5. When washing and drying your covers, avoid using fabric softener or dryer sheets.  They will make your sweeper covers and even your towels less absorbent.  Try some vinegar in your fabric softener dispenser drawer.  Not only will it help with keeping your washing machine clean, but it will also help keep your towels and clothes soft. And our natural laundry soap is great for washing your sweeper covers.

Sweet potatoes are so delicious and sweet, even without all the sugar.  It really makes it interesting when you get to choose from all the different colors that are available today.  Maybe they aren’t available in most grocery stores but you can definitely find different colors at the farmers markets and possibly at healthy grocery stores such as Whole Foods and EarthFare.

I have fallen in love with the many different varieties of sweet potatoes.  It’s so neat to see and taste the difference.

Todd and I were lucky enough to find a small farmer in our area that grows the varieties of sweet potato slips that we were looking for.  He mentioned that he has grown around 30 varieties in the past but has since narrowed it down to his favorite 8 varieties.  We bought 5 varieties of his sweet potato slips – 25 of each….Tennessee Red, Bradshaw, Norton, Nancy Hall, and Lee Purple.

I am very excited.  I have bought a few of these sweet potatoes from another area farmer a couple years ago and I absolutely loved them.  I specifically remember making a purple sweet potato pie that year for Thanksgiving. Very very delicious!

Okay, I’m getting a little off track.

Well, we made a video this past week when we planted our sweet potato slips.  Todd’s grandfather showed him how to plant sweet potato slips when he was young and they’ve been doing it that way ever since.  Here’s the video.  We hope you find it helpful.

There has been some extremely big accusations about the Green Pastures Fermented Cod Liver Oil that came out over the weekend.

Dr. Kaayla T. Daniels published a report, Hook, Line, and Stinker! The Truth about Fermented Cod Liver Oil which you can download here for free. You will have to put in your email address to get this free report though.

This report alleges rancidity, using pollock livers instead of cod livers, and lowered levels of vitamins just to name a few.

Dr. Kaayla T. Daniels is the Vice President of the Weston A. Price Foundation and received the Weston A. Price Foundation’s Integrity in Science Award in 2005.  She also serves on the Board of Directors of the Farm-to-Consumer Legal Defense Fund.  You can go here to learn more about Dr. Daniels.

You definitely need to read this report for yourself just to know exactly what it says instead of only hearing it from others. You need to see this with your own eyes.

My husband and I weren’t as shocked as some.  Todd and I have been researching cod liver oil for a couple months. We couldn’t really afford the Green Pasture brand anymore but wanted the best cod liver oil we could afford. So we went searching and saw many articles questioning the Green Pasture claims. So we started questioning it also. Below is a recently published article from the Price-Pottenger Nutrition Foundation detailing Dr. Price’s opinions about the different types of cod liver oils to use. Very interesting.
