Can I let you in on a little secret? Come closer, I don't want everyone to know this because it's kind of embarrassing. But the truth is...

...I've never had a salon manicure.

I know, right? I may be the only woman on the planet who has never had her nails professionally done.

Since gel nails are all the rage now, I've been tempted a few times...but simply couldn't justify the expense. When you're a retired Baby Boomer on a fixed income, you have to be careful about where your money goes. And salon manicures just aren't a priority for me.

That doesn't mean I don't love my nails! I'm lucky that my nails grow really fast. Since I do a lot of work on my computer, I must keep my nails fairly short for the keyboard, but now and then I'll let them grow out and polish and buff and they look like a million bucks. :)

But I still am envious of those with perfect gel manicures.

That's why I was so excited to try new Impress Salon Quality temporary nails.

These nails are absolutely awesome!! Not only do the nails themselves look superb, but the glue that holds them to your fingernails is outstanding. It really makes a tight bond that lasts for days and days.

When they said these nails will last up to a week, I said "no way".

Well, guess what? Way.

I've had mine on for five days as of today and they are just now starting to show signs of weakening. The bond is so strong you can literally trim, file, and shape the artificial nails after you've applied them. I'm bad about using my fingernails as tools. I didn't think about the chance of breaking one off until after I'd opened a couple of cans of cat food. You know, the ones with the ring pull thingie. I just shoved my nail right under it like always, and pulled the lid off. And then I remembered my false nails. But what do you know...it didn't seem to faze them a bit.

They come in a variety of sizes and styles and colors. I was lucky to get the French manicure set (which I love!). You can't tell from the photo, but the white tips are quite large and very squared-off. I'm not a fan of squared-off nails, so after applying them, I trimmed them about half, and gave the edges a soft rounding. Perfect! They don't interfere with my keyboard computer work at all, and the smaller white tip looks so much more natural than the larger white tip. Round instead of square looks more feminine, too, in my opinion.

I would suggest trimming the nails to your desired length before applying them, though. I didn't have any trouble doing it after the fact, but it does take about thirty minutes for the glue to completely set, so you risk damaging the bond if you're not careful. And should you accidentally mess one up, there are extras in each set. Twenty-four pieces in all, which means you're likely to find just the right size for your nails.

They do come in different sizes, so be careful what size you purchase. For teens and women with tiny hands, the small size works fine. For "mature" women with average hands, medium is better. And for large hands/nails, there's a large size as well. At first I tried the small size and found only three or four nails that actually fit me. So I moved up to medium size and was able to find eight that fit perfectly. The other two left just a bit of my natural nail showing on the edge--not noticeable with French manicure, but possibly noticeable if you're wearing colored nails.

But at $7.99 retail, you could easily buy two or three sets, in each size, and then you're sure to find ten that fit your nails perfectly. Since these are temporary and only last about a week, they won't replace salon gel manicures. But at $7.99--about one-fifth the cost of a salon job--it's definitely a bargain. Raise your hand if you've never had computer problems.

Unless your computer is brand spanking new, I'd be willing to bet every single one of you has had computer problems at one time or another.

If you're like me, you've got tons of makeup products. Foundation. Mascara. Eyeshadow. Eyeliner. Blush. Concealer. And brushes.

It seems every makeup item needs its own brush, doesn't it? That huge brush that works so well for applying finishing powder to your face is absurdly big for applying eyeshadow. And vice versa.

So you need all those brushes. But how many do you actually use?

When I'm prowling through my makeup collection, I skip right over all the odd brushes because there are only a couple I actually use. So why do I have all the rest? Because you never know when you'll need a particular brush for a particular makeup effect.

But scattered haphazardly in my collection is really hard on brushes, so even though I'm hanging on to them, they really should be tossed out because the bristles are probably bent into deformed shapes by now.

I am amazed at the difference this product has made! My office chair is comfortable when I first sit in it, but after a little while it feels like I'm sitting on a hard bleacher seat at a ball game or something. Not comfortable at all. I keep shifting and twisting, trying to get comfortable, to no avail.

But when I received this cushion I put it right to work, and I could tell almost immediately that this was what had been missing from my normal office chair. See that little groove at the back? You'll want to make sure that groove is situated over your tailbone as you sit on the cushion because that's what alleviates pressure on your spine, which is what causes muscle fatigue and aches and pains.

I have to position the cushion so that it just hits the backs of my knees as I sit down, which puts the groove right where it's supposed to be. But that's all the adjustment needed. After that, I'm good for hours of sitting at my desk without discomfort. If I get up for more coffee or something, I have to reposition it again, otherwise my tailbone won't hit the right spot, but that's a small price to pay in extra effort for the marvelous benefits gained. I'm sold on this cushion! Only wish I'd found it years ago!

It's a great investment if you spend a lot of time in your chair. It's portable too, so take it along for seminars and meetings. You'll be the envy of all your associates!

And another feature I love is the removable washable cover. Now coffee spills are not a problem. I simply replace the soiled cover with the included free cover, and toss the dirty one in the wash. Easy peasy!

I'm sold on the wonderful benefits of aloe. I keep a bottle of aloe gel handy at all times. There's nothing like it for sunburn, insect bites, scrapes, bruises (yes, it even lessens the impact of bruising, at least for me). So whenever I find a product that has aloe as one of its main ingredients, I'm gonna check it out.

Cutis Vita is an awesome moisturizing cream! Made from the highest quality all-natural ingredients, like aloe barbadensis, shea butter, macadamia nut oil, rosemary leaf oil, rose hips oil, Vitamin A, Vitamin D3, and extracts of comfrey leaf, ginseng root, fennel fruit, chamomile, and green tea. Whew! The Cutis Vita folks know their natural moisturizing ingredients!

This is not a lotion, it's a thick cream. Usually I don't care for thick creams because they tend to just sit on my skin and not absorb quickly enough. But not Cutis Vita. The first thing I did was open the jar and rub some on my horrible elbows. I have very rough, dry patches on my elbows that nothing seems to help. Well, nothing until now. Within moments the skin of my elbows was softer, less abrasive, and soothed. Perfect for both men and women.

BakeItFun Silicone #bakingmat brings back the joy of baking!

I'll be honest: I'm not fond of baking.

There. I said it.

I'm not talking about roasts or casseroles or stuff like that. I'm talking about pastries, cookies, baked goodies and treats. It has to be a really enticing recipe to inspire me to tackle a baking project.

At least, up until last Christmas. Because for Christmas, I got the two items guaranteed to get me back into baking mode:

A heavy-duty stand mixer

Silicone baking mats

I couldn't wait to try them out, so I immediately went looking for something out of the ordinary to bake. Not Christmas cookies...everybody was doing that. I wanted something a little different, maybe something savory instead of sweet.

Then I remembered Cheddar Cheese Straws. Eureka! That was it. That was what I'd make for my contribution to Christmas snack goodies. And it would be a welcome alternative to yet more sweets.

My Christmas cheese straws were a big hit. They disappeared faster than you can say Ho-Ho-Ho!

But I haven't made them again since Christmas. I've been wanting to, but just never took the time. So when the BakeItFun people gave me the chance to try their silicone baking mat, I knew Cheddar Cheese Straws would be perfect for a product demonstration.

There are a multitude of recipes for cheese straws online. I urge you to experiment and find the recipe that is right for you. Some have a lot of cheese, others have a lot of spice. Some are like pie crust pastry, others are like cheese crackers. There's a recipe for everyone, or you could do like I did and try a number of them, then adjust to fit my own preference.

So here's my recipe for Cheddar Cheese Straws...but again, this is just a starting point. Make the recipe your own.

2 sticks butter (not margarine) softened to room temperature

1 pound grated extra sharp Cheddar cheese (I used 2 8oz. packages - you may prefer mild, or some other cheese) softened to room temperature (do not use packaged grated cheese - something is added to this product that prevents individual pieces from sticking together, and thus it won't blend well with butter and flour for this recipe)

1 tablespoon sea salt (or regular salt - adjust to your taste)

1 teaspoon black pepper (optional)

1 tablespoon cayenne pepper (optional - adjust to your preferred heat level)

3 cups all-purpose flour (do not use self-rising)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place BakeItFun silicone #bakingmat on flat cookie sheet.

In stand mixer, cream together butter, salt, pepper, and cayenne. Gradually add in cheese. After all cheese is added, mix on medium speed for about 15 minutes. This insures everything is creamed together properly. Very slowly begin to add in flour. You'll want to check the consistency as you go. Depending on the temperature and consistency of your butter/cheese base, it could take less than 3 cups of flour or more than 3 cups of flour. What you want is a soft dough that has pulled cleanly away from the sides of the mixing bowl.

I used a frosting bag and large icing tip to pipe the dough into 2-inch straws. Make sure your dough is the right consistency to flow through the icing bag easily or you'll struggle with this step. (I learned this the hard way!) You can get a lot of these on a silicone baking mat, since they are made with all-purpose flour and won't spread or rise. What you see is what you get after baking. So don't be afraid to crowd them a little.

If you don't have an icing bag, you can roll the dough into long thin strips and then cut them to your desired length. You can also roll dough into a log, refrigerate for several hours, then cut into thin slices for round wafers instead of slices. You can drop dough by 1/2-tablespoons then flatten with a fork. So many ways to get creative. Just remember to keep everything thin so it all cooks at the same rate and comes out crispy.

Bake at 350 degrees for about 15 to 20 minutes. It may take a little more time, depending on your oven's efficiency. Just keep checking after 15 minutes or so. Straws will not turn brown, but may have slightly darker edges. When they are firm to the touch, they are probably done. Again, this may require some experimentation on your part. They should be very crispy and not doughy at all.

Remove from oven and transfer to cooling rack. This is the fun part! Nothing, absolutely nothing, sticks to the BakeItFun silicone baking mat! In fact, you'll want to be careful moving the baking sheet because the cheese straws might just slide right off! I had to fish a few out of the bottom of my oven the first time I used a silicone baking mat. :)

You may notice a crumb or two left on the baking mat, but that's all. No scraping with a spatula, no broken pieces, just beautiful baked goods. Let the mat and cookie sheet cool a little before starting your next batch, or better yet buy two BakeItFun silicone baking mats and have the next one ready to go into the oven right away. And clean-up is a breeze. Just swish in hot sudsy water, rinse, and air-dry flat. So super easy!

I haven't tried pizza on one yet, but I wouldn't be a bit surprised if it doesn't turn out just perfect, and without sticking or making a cheesy mess.

Everyone loves soda! It's a favorite drink year-round, but especially in the spring and summer. Soda is just so darn refreshing, cool, crisp, sweet, and satisfies like nothing else.

Sure, you want your family to drink more water and less soda. Not to mention the glut of calories involved, and the possibility of sugar spikes or crashes. But there are some things folks are just reluctant to give up...and soda is one of them.

1 small can crushed pineapple (do not use fresh pineapple with gelatin desserts - an enzyme in fresh pineapple prevents gelatin from setting up)
1 8-oz. package cream cheese, softened at room temperature
1/2 cup chopped nuts (I prefer pecans, but use your favorite)
1 can Veri Lemon Lime soda

Heat water to boiling, add gelatin and stir well to dissolve (some like to add miniature marshmallows - if so, add them to boiling water right after gelatin and allow them to melt completely). Add soda, then cream cheese, and stir until everything is melted and well-blended. Remove from heat and let cool for a bit. Add pineapple and nuts. Pour into a serving dish or pie plate and refrigerate several hours. (Key to a firm and not runny salad is letting the gelatin have plenty of time to "set" in the refrigerator before serving.)

Now that you're better informed about Veri Soda, wouldn't you feel better serving it to your family instead of regular soda? Yeah, me too.

Keanu Reeves Shines in Action Adventure Movie "47 Ronin"

I'm a sucker for anything to do with Keanu Reeves. It's not so much that he's incredibly handsome and easy on the eyes--well, okay, I admit that's a large part of what attracts me to him--but there's something about his demeanor and bearing that draws me as well. I'm not talking about the adolescent Keanu of "Bill and Ted" etc. but the adult Keanu. He's the ideal tall, dark, handsome, strong silent type. And I'm a sucker for that.

So I was delighted to hear that Keanu just starred in a new movie called "47 Ronin" based on popular Japanese history/folklore. And I was even more delighted to get the chance to review this movie for you.

"47 Ronin" is, in a word, spectacular. And I mean that in a "spectacle" kind of way. The scenery is simply breathtaking. Now, I'm sure a lot of it is either CGI or green screen, but it works. It looks so authentic it makes me want to book a trip to visit this exotic yet cultured land. Happily there is a lot to see in this movie, so if you're like me and love a good adventure in a beautiful location, "47 Ronin" might just fit the bill for you too.

The basic story, based on historical events, is how a treacherous rival warlord betrays a ruler and takes command of his country--and his beautiful daughter into the bargain--all with the approval and blessing of the Japanese Shogun, the "emperor" of the whole land as it were. The betrayed ruler's faithful samurai warriors are then banished from the territory on pain of death, and the lovely orphaned daughter is set to become the rival warlord's wife.

But she's in love with a half-breed found in the wilderness and taken into the family as a young boy, and this boy has grown into a warrior who has now been banished along with the family troop of samurai. All good stories have at least some romance, right? Keanu Reeves plays Kai, the half-breed boy taken in by the royal family, and actress Ko Shibasaki plays Mika, the ex-ruler's daughter and Kai's forbidden love since childhood.

Since the Shogun banished all the former samurai on pain of death, when the former military leader of the samurai decides that honor demands retribution for his ruler's dishonorable death, all those who were once under his command are reunited in the cause, even though they all know that by doing so they have sealed their own fate. Only death awaits them, win or lose.

How they reunite, put aside their differences with the half-breed Kai (who has shown himself to be more than capable, and just as much a "samurai" as any of them), seek and find swords for battle, and eventually fight the wicked rival warlord makes for a wonderful and nail-biting journey. While there is love and violence, you'll be glad to know none of it is gratuitous or particularly graphic. No blood and gore (even beheadings are largely only suggested, not shown graphically) and no sex. You could watch this with your children--although it is rated PG-13 "for intense sequences of violence and action, some disturbing images, and thematic elements"). Parents, use your own discretion. This movie is a lot more suitable for younger audiences than most prime time network TV shows. And they just might learn something about Japanese history and honor into the bargain.

The only thing about the movie I found a little offputting was the fantasy element. Granted, I'm no scholar of historical Japanese legends, and the story of the original "47 Ronin" may well include myth, magic, and monsters. But I would have been perfectly happy with the simple historical re-enactment of the folklore without the fantastical additions. However, Japanese culture is steeped in legends of mythical, extraordinary creatures, so I guess it really isn't much of a stretch to include some of them in this film. Got to keep the audience's attention somehow, right? And since the kindly ruler was betrayed because he was bewitched by the rival warlord's staff sorceress, the whole thing moves from "history" to "legend", which kind of gives the movie the feel of an adventure or role-playing game at times. But hey, I'm sure many viewers will connect with that in the best way, so there really is something for everyone with this movie.

If you're looking for more fact than myth, you might be a trifle disappointed. But if you're just looking for a romping adventure where the good guys actually win in the end, you'll probably enjoy "47 Ronin". So grab a copy when the Blu-ray™ 3D and Blu-ray™ Combo Packs, DVD, including UltraViolet™ and On Demand hit shelves on April 1, 2014 (from Universal Studios Home Entertainment), pop some popcorn, and settle down for a trip through an exotic culture and place that will certainly make you forget the everyday world...at least for a couple of hours.

And Keanu? Well, I'm sure you are aware of how he gets panned so often for his acting being described as "wooden". But when Keanu performs as characters such as the half-breed Kai, his acting persona moves from "wooden" to "stoic"--and very effectively. His whole demeanor fits right in with an Oriental flavor. Any other non-Oriental actor would have overplayed the role, thus destroying credibility. Keanu does it just right. In fact, it's so low-key I almost wish there were more for him to do in this movie, but the story itself isn't about Keanu, even though he's got top billing on the film. The main thrust is how the exiled leader of the samurai (played with stunning conviction by actor Hiroyuki Sanada) regains his own honor and avenges his wronged ruler. So put aside your Keanu prejudices (if you have any) and just enjoy the movie. I certainly enjoyed it!

I love nuts and seeds! I mean, who doesn't, right? Not only are nuts and seeds tasty, they're good for you too.

They did not get soggy quickly like so many other products do, so you can make appetizers ahead of time if you like.

I cannot recommend these Artisan Nut-Thins enough!! They are simply delicious, regardless of the healthy snack benefits. I'm a sucker for sesame seeds, so that was the first variety I reached for. I wasn't disappointed! Nutty, buttery, just a hint of salt, and crisp enough to satisfy my snacking craving. The multi-seed and flax seed varieties are just as good.

Okay, so I was going to show you a photo of the lovely bags of Surf Sweets Candy I received to review, but... well...

Now, I don't know what your yardstick is to measure how good a brand of candy is, but to me, those empty bags say it all.

There's nothing new under the sun.

I stopped being excited about makeup back when all products seemed the same and it was just too darn expensive trying each new product, hoping against hope to find something that was perfectly right for me and my complexion.

I'm very fair, you see...always have been. I envy women with olive skin tones that look so flawless. Mine never does. I'll have patches of pink or red here and there, pores the size of moon craters, and "heavy" makeup just looks like... well... heavy makeup.

I will admit I did get a little excited a few years ago when mineral cosmetics were first introduced. Finally! Something that looked natural but provided good coverage to even out my skin tone, but didn't look and feel like you'd just spread pancake batter on your face and let it dry.

But that excitement quickly wore off too when I realized that mineral cosmetics, while looking terrific for a few hours, just don't last the whole day long. And I didn't like the idea of filling my pores with tiny "dust" particles.

So...like I said...there's nothing new under the sun.

#Torani syrups - coffeehouse flavors at home! @Torani

If there's one thing my close friends and family know about me, it's that I have a love affair going on.

With coffee.

I love love LOVE coffee! Can't start my morning without it!

But not black coffee. Blech. Dull. Boring. Bitter. Fine for you folks that drink your coffee black, but it's not for me.

I love coffee with sweetener and cream -- either Half & Half, milk, or a powdered or flavored liquid creamer. And I've seen and tried Torani syrups in those fancy bars and restaurants and coffeehouses. Yummmmm!

So imagine my delight when SheSpeaks asked me to try some Torani syrup in my home! I received two bottles of Torani syrup -- Peppermint and Salted Caramel.

Peppermint syrup in coffee?? To be honest, I haven't tried that yet, because that's one combination that just doesn't sound right to me. But I will try it with coffee soon and see. I'm not afraid. :) But I did try it with green tea and WOW!! What a flavor boost!! It was absolutely delicious in tea, so I may save the peppermint for tea and recipes. Wouldn't it be great in a holiday punch? Yeah, I think so too!

The Salted Caramel flavor, on the other hand...well, let me just say I AM IN LOVE! Salted Caramel and coffee go together like a marriage made in heaven! I wasn't sure how I'd like the caramel taste in coffee (I'm more of a chocolate/nuts person, like mocha and amaretto) but let me tell you the "salted" part really makes a HUGE difference in taste! Love it!! Since first opening the bottle, I have had it in every single cup of coffee. It. Is. Addicting! I will definitely be purchasing this for my own coffeehouse-at-home.

Torani syrups are sweetened already so all you do is add a dash to your favorite beverage and you won't have to add any sugar or sweetener at all. They also come in sugar-free varieties, so don't let that put you off. These are absolutely fabulous and are just jam-packed with inspiration for fresh new drinks and recipes!

Torani syrups also come in fruit flavors as well, so there's something for everybody. I have one of those home soda makers, and I'm going to try the Peppermint flavor in some plain carbonated water and see how that goes. Use your own imagination and add a dash of deliciousness to just about everything!

I received some samples of the new mascara products to try, and right away I had a few faves.

The Lash Primer may be my favorite product of the new bunch. Why? Because it has so many benefits. Not only does it condition your eyelashes with Mary Kay Panthenol-Pro Complex, but it also strengthens lashes too. It's a clear formula that goes on easily, lifting lashes to help them stay curlier longer, and intensifying lash volume to create longer-looking lashes.

I remember trying a clear mascara several years ago, and while I wasn't exactly disappointed in the results, it didn't wow me either. So I never tried it again. But you can wear the Mary Kay Lash Primer alone or as a base coat for your mascara. I love that!! Some days I don't really want that dramatic black-lashed look, you know? Sometimes you have to apply several coats of mascara to get the coverage and separation and length you want, but the primer sets the stage for that and ONE COAT of mascara was all it took to achieve the look I wanted. Perfect!

And the new mascara I loved? LASH LOVE, of course!

It does an outstanding job of defining, separating, and lengthening lashes, especially when used in conjunction with the Lash Primer. I've tried so many mascaras over the years, and my biggest complaint is that I have to apply so many coats to achieve my desired results. Not so with Lash Love. It has such a smooth application, dries fast, and does not clump. At. All. Yay! And not flaky. No clumps, no flakes. Looks natural too. If I could get permanent color on my eyelashes, I'd want them to look like this!

The applicator brush separates lashes so effortlessly, it feels almost automatic. This mascara is lightweight, too. You don't get that heavy gunky feeling on your lashes. You can hardly even tell you're wearing mascara at all! There's no heavy chemical smell, either. And it comes in a beautiful case, perfectly portable. Toss one in your handbag, gym bag, etc. to always be prepared.

Mary Kay Lash Love is as good as it gets. And at $15.00 per tube, easily affordable. There are certainly cheaper brands, but the quality is just not the same. I've been using Mary Kay lipstick for years. It's the only lipstick I'll buy and actually use. Once I find a particular makeup brand or product I really like, I stick with it. I think I'm going to be adding Lash Primer and Lash Love to my list of "must haves". Mary Kay continues to impress!

Disney's Cinderella Diamond Edition Blu-Ray & DVD

Being a baby boomer has its perks. It means I was around in the fifties and sixties when classics like Disney's CINDERELLA came out. But back then, we had to go to the theater to watch it.

And oh, what a magical experience!

To tell the truth, I haven't watched CINDERELLA since then. But it is still vivid in my memory...the cute little mice creating a dress for Cinderella, the Wicked Stepmother, the Fairy Godmother, the glass slipper and pumpkin coach, and of course the Handsome Prince!

All stuff of fairy tales and all embedded in my memory, even fifty years later. "Bibbidy-Bobbity-Boo" is still a magic word.

So imagine my delight when I was given the chance to review Disney's Diamond Edition of CINDERELLA on Blu-Ray & DVD! It was like revisiting old friends I haven't seen since childhood, only the quality was ever so much better than I remembered.

This digitally restored picture and sound Diamond Edition came out on October 2nd, and let me tell you, this is definitely a movie you'll want to add to your family's collection. Or even if you're a single baby boomer like me, how nice to be able to go back and relive one of the most magical moments I can remember.

The Blu-Ray version even has lots of extras only available in this Diamond Edition. Bonus material also includes "The Real Fairy Godmother", the incredible true story of Mary Alice O'Conner who was the inspiration for the character of the Fairy Godmother, "Bibbidi-Bobbidi-You", a second screen personalized digital storybook, and more! Plus there's "Tangled Ever After", an animated short based on the "Tangled" movie, which was just adorable!

I remember reading somewhere that Halloween is the holiday that Americans decorate for the most. Yep. Seems that most people will decorate more for Halloween than they do for Christmas! Even adults get into the Halloween spirit with costume parties. UNREAL!

Guess there's a soft spot in all our hearts for scary masks, jack-o'-lanterns, witch hats, ghosts and goblins, black cats...and CANDY!

What would Halloween be without trick-or-treaters and CANDY!

But if you're a responsible adult, you know that too much of the good stuff can be a bad thing for children (and, hey, even for adults with a sweet tooth!). You'd love to allow them to have all the candy they want, at least for this one day out of the year. But we all know that most commercial candy is chock-full of bad stuff. Stuff that's not good for you at all. And of course too much sugar.

MacVoil for your hair AND skin! {review}

I love long hair. Always have. It's a lot of trouble, I must admit. Takes forever to dry, and then styling takes forever too. But the few times I've cut it and tried a shorter hairdo, I hated it. Wanted my long hair back. So I just get it trimmed now and then, but basically I have always had and hopefully will always have long hair, several inches past my shoulders.

I love the versatility of long hair. Love being able to wear a ponytail, or braids, or curl it and fluff it out, or just straight and healthy-looking. So many ways to wear long hair.

But long hair does take a beating that shorter hairstyles do not. If you have short hair, you probably get it trimmed a lot more often to maintain your cut. So any damaged hair is trimmed away. With longer hair, the damage is more significant because it's been a process of time, and my hair certainly shows the damage.

My hair is also naturally wavy, almost curly in fact. But that leads to frizz, and I HATE frizz!! My hair will curl easily, but I really have to put the heat to it to tame the frizz by smoothing the cuticle.

That's why I was very interested in trying a new product called MacVoil. This extraordinary combination of Macademia oil, Moroccan Argan oil and Cypress oil really helps tame the frizzies and makes my hair so soft and manageable I can hardly believe it. Oh, and it's also great for your skin! If you're like me, the winter months really take a toll not just on your hair but your skin too. I rubbed some of this oil on my hands and the "alligator skin" virtually disappeared. It's non-greasy too, which is a blessing if you consider all the "oils" in MacVoil!

And it doesn't take a lot. I simply poured some MacVoil in my palm about the size of a quarter, then rubbed my palms together and gently smoothed it into the bottom part of my hair. I didn't use it up close to the crown or scalp, since my long hair generally tends to weigh down top hair anyway, but next time I may try massaging it into my scalp as well since the oils in the product are so beneficial to skin and scalp.

My hair was instantly and noticeably softer. And yes, it took a lot less time to dry than normal. That's a big plus for me, especially on workday mornings when I'm already rushed for time! My hair was so easy to comb too. The oils act as a detangler, and I noticed I didn't yank out nearly as many hairs as I usually do when combing after shampooing.

But the best part to me was how easily I was able to smooth the hair cuticle with heat styling tools to eliminate frizzing. Huzzah! It works! My hair was soft, straight, yet still bouncy and vibrant. Just the way I like it!

This is definitely a product you want to try for yourself if you have trouble with damaged hair. Dry, frizzy, lifeless hair instantly responds to this intensive treatment without becoming oily in the process. I'm so used to thinking of something like baby oil when I hear the word "oil" in regards to hair and skin products. But macadamia oil, Moroccan argan oil, and cypress oil are nothing like baby oil. They are lightweight and easily absorbed into hair and skin, leaving a non-greasy feeling.

I'm sold! I will be adding MacVoil to my hair routine. You should give it a try, even if you don't have long hair. I think you'll be suitably impressed, just like I was. :)
