Install Skype in Kali Linux - Ubuntu

Hello Friends,

This tutorial show you how to install Skype for Linux.

Note: In my case this was Kali Linux!

First of all open your terminal.

Run this command


wget http://download.skype.com/linux/skype-ubuntu-lucid_4.2.0.11-1_i386.deb

Skype downloading start

Downloading finished, now we are going to run another command in terminal.
Run:
apt-get install liqbt4-webkit

This process will be complete here.

All files has been extracted and downlownled, now we going to install Skype.
Run
dpkg --install skype-ubuntu-lucid_4.2.0.11-1_i386.deb

Skype installation process will be like this..

Now Goto

Applications => Internet => Skype :)

Yandex.Mail will not only keep you away from US spy agencies but it also have many cool features which would make you love your inbox even more.

Yandex is most popular search engine in Russia. They recently started approaching users outside Russia by translating Yandex services into English and other languages. Yandex.Mail is one of their services which is now available for international users as well.

My system specifications are 3.0ghz processor, 2GB RAM and Outlook/Gmail were always making my browser slow. But Yandex.Mail is fast, simple and lightweight for systems.

Yandex.Mail have email pictures support to and from other email providers. No you don’t upload pictures with all your email contacts one by one like in Gmail. But Yandex Automatically fetches images of senders of other email servers. Users of other email services will also see your Yandex.Mail profile picture in their email inbox.

Yandex.Mail’s fast loading lightweight interface saves a lot of time. Yandex.Mail takes less than 15 seconds to fully load while outlook and gmail take more than 40 seconds to load web completely. Reading and responding to emails is fun. In Gmail I used to spend about 15 minutes everyday to read and reply emails from friends. But in Yandex it takes my less than 5 minutes everyday.

Yandex.Mail have email delivery notifications feature which notifies you when your email reaches recipients server.

When writing new email you can select to receive link to your email’s copy as SMS for free.

Yandex.Mail gives email scheduling option. Very useful to schedule Eid Mubarak emails in advance before you get busy with shopping and guests.

When you are reading long emails, Yandex.Mail’s top floating bar gives you quick options such as go to Top, Reply, Delete buttons which make email use fast and comfortable, unlike gmail where you have to all scroll up or bottom to click buttons.

PTCL is Likely to Discontinue the Student DSL Package

A note published on October Monthly bills of PTCL.

This probably won’t be very pleasing for all the students out there, but the news is that PTCL is likely to phase out its extremely popular student package over a period of next few months.

While we don’t have official confirmation for this, however, sources confirm us that company is looking for ways to substitute its student package with other similar products.

It merits mentioning here that PTCL has communicated its customers through monthly bills this month that 1 MB student package would be charged at Rs. 1,250, while 2 MB student package will be charged Rs. 1,450 from November 1st, 2013.

Not to mention, these charges are usual tariff for normal broadband packages.

Student segment, as mentioned above, is immensely lucrative and shares hefty amount of broadband subscribers for PTCL, the market leader in broadband market.

With changing market dynamics, company is now looking for ways to capitalize the niche with similar but capped products to boost revenues. One such example is Economy Broadband Package, that offers 1Mbps speeds at a monthly charge of Rs. 499, but comes with 10 GB data limit per month.

PTCL told that customers should expect a wide array of products for students starting 2014. Company said that not only various new broadband packages will be announced but more technologies will be brought into the scope to entertain the students.

However, for time being at least, the discount granted to students for broadband DSL is over.

The iPad Air, at least on paper, is lagging behind the competition in several aspects but again, Apple has never tried to compete in a numbers race and that is the best part. As usual, the iPad Air is perfect in doing the basic things, plus, it is unmatched when it comes to ecosystem.

It may not be the most productive but the free suite of iWork apps has drastically improved that too. With a competitive price and a strong backing from the App Store, it remains the tablet to beat (at least when it comes to sales).

Again, its better to look for only the things which are important to you before making a decision regarding buying anyone of these.

The Lumia 2520 isn't Nokia's First Tablet, Check Out the Lost Ones Here!

Last week, Nokia announced its “first” Windows tablet, the Lumia 2520. (Not many would’ve even given that aspect attention.) This means that while the Lumia 2520 is the company’s first tablet in years, it is far from being the first one.

If you’re a Nokia fan, you already know about following devices that were marketed by Nokia as “Internet tablets”; these lost products started coming to market during 2005 with the 770. The last one (N900) came in 2009.

What’s more interesting is that all of them came with a resistive touchscreen, two years before Apple popularised the technology in portable devices.

Nokia 770 (2005)

Nokia’s first Internet tablet ran on Maemo, the Linux-based OS and had a 4.1 inch resistive touchscreen which got input from a stylus. Apart from that, it had a 252Mhz processor, 64 MB RAM and 128 MB expandable memory.

The resultant was a slow device which got scathing reviews. Long forgotten.

Nokia N800 (2007)

The next attempt came just days after the original iPhone came. Despite this, the N800 is probably the most neglected Nokia product from the top-end N-series.

Having a 4.1 inch resistive touchscreen again, this time it came with an underclocked 330 Mhz processor, 128 MB RAM, 64 MB expandable storage and upgraded Meamo OS. At least the thing worked this time, getting 3.5 stars out of 5 from Cnet.

Nokia N810 (2007)

The N810 was the last Nokia product which got marketed as an Internet tablet and this time, it came with several big changes. Nokia N810 featured a more pocketable design plus a slide-out backlit keyboard.

The 4.1 inch resistive touchscreen display was still there, but it had 2 GB expandable memory, newer Maemo OS and a VGA camera this time. It was powered by a 400 Mhz processor on top of a 128 MB RAM. This product too got forgotten, however.

Nokia N900 (2009)

The N900 wasn’t an internet tablet only, it was a phone and it ran on the same Maemo OS. In my opinion, that telephone functionality is the reason why the N900 is a reasonably popular device because you see, a Nokia product without a SIM card slot isn’t quite Nokia enough. Therefore, even the Lumia 2520 and the Nokia Booklet 3G come with with SIM card functionality.

The touchscreen was smaller at 3.5 inches and it borrowed the same bizarre keyboard from the N97 but the N900 came with a Cortex A8 processor, 256 MB RAM, 32 GB storage and a 5 megapixel front camera. At the time of its release, it was among the most powerful phones on the market.

But its greatest legacy was its ability to run almost everything you threw at it. From Android to Windows Mobile, everything you throw at it runs. Hell, there are even tutorials of full-fledged Windows running on the device. This amazing capability will keep the N900 alive for a long time to come.

These all internet tablets are obsolete and discontinued now and the future lies in Lumia 2520 and Windows. Pretty much all of these “lost” devices were failures and it will be worth watching whether the 2520 will change that.

It is true that Twitter can be boring as hell. You might have some other better things than wasting your time on Twitter. But what you may not know is that this sucking time can really start up earning

Samsung has made clear that it has big hopes with its upcoming Tizen OS. In an interview with CNET, Samsung Mobile division head J. K. Shin said that smartphones aren’t its target with Tizen. After splashing in that industry, they would like to see it in further markets including cars as well, describing the idea as “cross category”.

“There are many convergences not only among IT gadgets, including smartphones, tablets, PCs, and cameras”, Shin said, “but also among different industries like cars, bio, or banks. Cross-convergence is the one [area] Samsung can do best since we do have various parts and finished products.”

Samsung actually isn’t the only company trying out its luck in cars as Apple has already made some great strides in that business lately.

With Tizen, Samsung will try to shrug off its reliance on Android operating system where it is the undisputed leader, but nonetheless dependent upon Google when it comes to development, among other things including leadership rights.

Tizen has got some nice reception already but might see itself at the back of the crowd in the beginning.

Shin strongly believes that Tizen has the potential to become the third operating system for the company alongside Android and Windows Phone. He also said that a lot of interesting development is currently going on in the tablet division right now.

Delay in 3G Auction Would Not be Permitted: Supreme Court

The Supreme Court of Pakistan yesterday issued notices secretaries of cabinet and finance to submit their reports detailing the reasons for the delay that was caused for the auction of 3G licenses in Pakistan.

Attorney General Office, on the matter, was asked to seek comprehensive report pertaining to process of all developments relating to 3G auction and that why it has been delayed this long.

Chief Justice observed that awarding the 3G license would generate substantial a revenue to the national exchequer and no delay would be permitted.

A three-judge bench led by chief justice iftikhar Muhammad chaudhry, comprising of Jawwad S Khawaja and Justice Sh. Azmat Saeed was hearing a petition filed by Mr. Khurram Shahzad on delay of 3G auction which is causing loss to people and government of Pakistan alike.

During course of proceeding, Mr. Ali Raza, counsel for the petitioner informed the Supreme Court that Ministry of Finance had withdrawn Rs. 44 billion from Universal Services Fund through an executive order. On which Justice Jawwad S Khawaja remarked that how could government withdraw funds from Universal Services Fund as it had no such prerogative.

He also informed the court that Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) was with out chairman and members of the board for almost eight months. On which the bench directed the Federation to complete formation of the board and it chairman as soon as possible.

Ali Raza informed the bench that PTA employees are facing financial crisis as they had not been paid by the department for the last couple of months. Justice Jawwad S Khawaja showed disappointment over vacant posts of high officials in PTA and remarked that no one seemed interested in the department.

The CJ remarked that transparency must be observed in bidding of 3G license otherwise it would be deferred by the court. While issuing notices to secretary information technology, cabinet and finance, court adjourned further hearing till august 1.

We all know how much pain and anxiety (read torture) a lost phone can give us. Everyone has experienced these situations at least once in their lifetime, but Google has set out to make your tough times much easier by rolling out the first official Android “Device locator”.

The tool is called Android Device Manager.

The Android Device Manager makes your phone shout aloud for you to hear and even lets you use the GPS to locate your device and see it in real time. The former can take place even if your phone is in silent mode.

And in case, you are still unable to find your device and fear that your data might end up in the wrong place, the service can also wipe all the data from your phone so that your personal info and identity remains secure.

The security tool will be available at the end of this month for devices running on Android 2.2 and later. A dedicated app will be released too, after that.

Such apps are nothing new though as a lot of manufacturers have already used the idea to their use. Actually, in all its honesty, some of the similar apps found in the Play Store are even better and offer more functionality. Still, it’s better to have something than nothing at all and it’s certainly quite useful as a lot of people are still unaware of this idea.

Cheaper Version of Motorola Moto X is Coming to Prepaid Markets

When Motorola announced the much-hyped Moto X smartphone a few days back, it made it clear that the device certainly isn’t for the masses. It further made that fact clear by deciding not to release that phone in Europe, a decidedly important market.

That last step wasn’t without a reason though. Very soon after the launch, the company’s CEO revealed in an interview to CNET that a phone carrying the Moto X brand name will be released soon and that the Moto X is just the first smartphone of this lineup.

Motorola hinted that its relatively low-priced – i.e. under USD 200 – Moto X smartphones will be designed and priced to appeal to international customers in markets where people generally don’t buy subsidized devices.

“Moto X is the brand that we are most focused on,” Dennis Woodside, CEO Motorola Mobility, said. “And there is more to come. You will see additional products within months. The experience of devices you can get for less than $200 is subpar right now. We want everyone to have access to affordable smartphones.”

While he didn’t reveal the date of the phone’s release, it should hit the market later this year. Woodside made it clear that that product will be targeted towards prepaid markets. That’s undeniably important for Motorola which is currently bleeding money at an alarming pace.
