Lucknow: A man and his wife were sent to prison on Saturday for murder of a
businessman whose body was taken out of a nullah in Aashiana area late on
Friday. Body of Ruchi Khand, Aashiana resident Gurpreet Singh (31)who
went missing on April 30 had been dumped in the nullah located in Aurangabad
locality. Gurpreet's close friend Amit Kumar Pasricha and his wife Mamta were
arrested by city police for the act.

Complex nature of relationship between Gurpreet and the Pasricha couple led to
the gruesome murder on April 30 and they confessed during questioning by
police.

Both Gurpreet and Amit belonged to the same community and owned bicycle stores
in Aashiana. The two became fast friends more than three years back and began
visiting each others' houses on special occasions. Health of Amit's wife Mamta
deteriorated suddenly two years back and Gurpreet's mother stayed at Amit's
house for household chores and look after Mamta for a month. Last year,
Gurpreet met with an accident and fractured his leg. He stayed at Amit's house
and Mamta looked after him. The two grew close and they got into a
relationship. Soon Amit found out about the relationship and started avoiding
Gurpreet.

Officer-in-charge of Aashiana police station sub-inspector Santosh Tiwari said
that on April 28, Gurpreet reached Amit's house and said he wanted to marry
Mamta.

The two managed to send him back home and informed his brother about the
development. On April 30, Gurpreet landed at the couple's house time with a
bottle containing petrol. He entered the room and threatened to set himself
afire. Amit brought a hammer and hit Gurpreet on the skull and kept hammering
his head continuously till he bled to death, said police.

The couple checked his pockets and took out a cell phone and Rs 12,700 cash.
While Amit destroyed the cellphone, he deposited the cash in charity box of
Aashiana gurudwara the next day. The two hid Gurpreet's two-wheeler and dumped
the body in a nullah. With the help of electronic surveillance police cracked
the case on Friday and sent the couple to jail. Remains of hte deceased's
mobile phone and hammer used for crime were recovered for evidence.

LUCKNOW: The city police on Saturday arrested Amit Kumar Pasricha and his wife
for the murder of a trader Gurupreet Singh Maathru alias Vicky, 31 in Ashiana
.

Vicky had disappeared on April 30 under mysterious circumstances.
Investigation disclosed that the trader’s friend Amit had killed him as he was
troubled with the former’s liking for his wife Mamta.

The deceased was pressurising Amit to divorce his wife, as he wanted to marry
her. He often created a ruckus at Amit’s house.

Cops recovered his body from a drain in Ashiana’s Aurangabad locality on
Friday night on the basis of information extracted from the two accused. The
police said the coupled had disposed of the body in the drain after stuffing
it in a jute bag.

The hammer used in the crime was also recovered from the bushes near the
drain.

Santosh Tiwari, station officer (SO) of Ashiana police station said the
deceased had a bicycle store in Yadav Market while Amit had a cycle store in
Sector G, Ashiana. He said Vicky and Amit were on family terms and visited
each other’s houses very frequently. However, during the course of their
friendship, Vicky developed a liking for Amit’s wife.

“Vicky was a short-tempered man and Amit was under his pressure, as the former
often helped him in his business. Amit was aware of Vicky’s liking for his
wife but never reacted to it. The deceased, however, started exploiting Amit’s
silence and started pressurising him to divorce his wife,” said Tiwari . “On
the night of April 30, Vicky went to Amit’s house holding a petrol container
in his hand and threatened to get him framed after committing suicide if he
did not divorce his wife”.

The SO said Amit, who was badly troubled with Vicky’s act, called the latter
inside the house and attacked him with a hammer. He said Amit hit Vicky on his
head and face with the hammer repeatedly until he was dead and thereafter
stuffed his body in the jute bag with the help of his wife. He later dumped
the body in the drain using the deceased’s scooty.

Tiwari said the deceased’s scooty was found parked behind Dr Ram Manohar Lohia
National Law University on May 3 and Vicky’s mother Raj Kaur had lodged an FIR
regarding his disappearance on May 2.

He said the family initially suspected their relatives but the detailed probe
helped to crack the case and nail the real culprits.

A sub-inspector of the Uttar Pradesh Police was arrested on Tuesday in
connection with the murder of a 25-year-old woman, who had filed a rape case
against the police official's son a year ago.

Bachchu Singh, a resident of Ghaziabad in UP, had allegedly hired a contract
killer for Rs. 1.5 lakh to execute his plan. The woman was murdered in
November last year and her body was disposed of in an irrigation canal in
Aligarh, 336 km west of state capital Lucknow.

The contract killer, his journalist wife, Singh's son and a police constable
have also been arrested. During interrogation, Amarpal, the hitman, admitted
to killing the woman and accused the sub-inspector (SI) of hatching the plot.

The woman, who used to run a mobile store in Ghaziabad after parting ways with
her husband, went missing on November 30, 2013. After two days, her family
members filed an abduction case, which said the woman left home after
receiving a call from Rashmi Chaudhary, a journalist who had promised her a
job.

The police zeroed in on Chaudhary, a frequent visitor to the woman's house and
believed to be Amarpal's wife. The couple is from the Aligarh area.

"The woman's younger brother had clicked her (Chaudhary's) photograph on a
mobile phone (which helped the police in the chase)... The couple was arrested
late on Monday night," a superintendent-level police official said.

"Our investigations have revealed the SI sought help from a police
constable... Amarpal was roped in for Rs. 1.5 lakh," the official added.

Chaudhary took the woman to Aligarh, where Amarpal and an aide strangled her,
the police official said. "The body is yet to be recovered."

The woman, who was Singh's neighbour, had filed a case of rape in March 2013
against the police official's son Tarun, who was chargesheeted in the case and
is out on bail.

ALWAR: The mystery of the body parts of a slain woman that appeared in various
places in the city over a five-day period was solved by the police with the
arrest of her 35-year-old husband, Yogesh Malhotra, from Hisar on Friday.

He was arrested for allegedly killing his 23-year-old second wife, Aarti Devi,
and cutting her body into pieces and disposing it in various parts of the city.

Malhotra allegedly committed the crime on suspicion that his young wife was
having an extramarital affair. After his first wife left him, the accused
allegedly bought Aarti from Patna some time ago for Rs 25,000 and married
her.

However, he became suspicious of her and allegedly set her on fire following a
quarrel a week ago. He then cut her into pieces and disposed the body in various
places to mislead the police.

After the murder, the body parts were kept in a refrigerator. These were taken
on his motorbike and dumped in various places.

"We had recovered severed body parts from various parts of the city. For
identifying the body, we had conducted a survey in the city. Later, we tracked
her husband and arrested him from Hisar in Haryana," Alwar superintendent of
police Rahul Prakash said.

After the police started the inquiry, they received information that a woman had
gone missing from the Rang Bhariya area on Thursday evening. They went to
Malhotra's house and inquired about his wife, but he deceived them by saying
that she had gone for work and would return at night.

The accused then fled from the area taking his three-year-old daughter along.
Later, the neighbours informed the police that he was seen frequently carrying
bags on his motorbike. The accused was tracked through his mobile phone to Hisar
by the police.

The accused allegedly told the police that he had killed her following
suspicions of extramarital relations. They had quarreled frequently over it,
and, eventually, he killed her.

Since he had seen how butchers skin goats, he removed her skin in a similar
fashion and cut the body up. These were disposed over five days after the
murder.

However, when the accused spoke to the media, he claimed that his wife had
committed suicide by immolating herself.

He had doused the fire, but opted to cut her up and dispose the body fearing
arrest.

Admitted at Bed No 17 of Suergical Ward No 17 on the premier government
hospital's third floor in the custody of a central jail guard since July 16, Ram
Dayal (resident of Handia in Harda dustrict of MP) was rushed to the Surgical
ICU. But he couldn't be saved owing to being shot in the head by the assassin
who fled from the scene immediately after the killing, superintendent of police
(SP Indore East) OP Tripathi said.

Surprisingly, the incident which happened at around 4.30 am was informed to
police around 2 hours later at 6.30 am, despite a police outpost present in
hospital premises only.

"We are scanning CCTV grabs from the hospital as well as talking to other
patients admitted at the ward where the killing took place," Tripathi added.

Ram Dayal, 25, was accused in a murder case and was lodged at Kannod jail in
neighbouring Dewas district, before being shifted to Indore Central Jail
recently for treatment at the MY Hospital.

MY Hospital murder case: Plotter surrenders before police

A
32-year-old history-sheeter carrying reward of Rs 10,000 for allegedly hiring a
shooter to murder an undertrial prisoner in a hospital here last week
surrendered before police today.

"Chintu Thakur who has been absconding for over a week today turned himself in
before Sanyogitagunj police station, following which he is being thoroughly
investigated," ASP Ramji Srivastav told PTI.

Police said that Chintu had allegedly sent a shooter, Ritesh to the Maharaja
Yashwantrao (MY) Hospital on July 21 to murder one Jitendra alias 'JD', also an
undertrial prisoner.

However, 'JD' survived as his bed at the ward in the hospital was changed at the
last moment with the deceased Ramdayal (36).

In a case of mistaken identity, Ritesh, disguised as a doctor, allegedly shot
Ramdayal dead. The shooting in the hospital had sent shock-waves.

The deceased Ramdayal had been shifted to MY Hospital for treatment from Kannod
jail in neighbouring Dewas district. He was being tried for murder, the ASP
said.

According to the officer, 'JD' was allegedly involved in the murder of Chintu's
brother Pintu in 2013.

"Chintu had allegedly hatched the conspiracy to eliminate JD to avenge the
killing of his brother," Srivastav said.

Police had already arrested three persons in connection with the plot to kill
'JD'.

3 दिन के बच्चे की हत्यारी माँ को आजीवन कारावास बालाघाट: मध्यप्रदेश के बालाघाट
जिले में एक महिला ने ममता का गला घोंट कर अपने ही तीन के नवजात की हत्या कर दी
थी. इस मामले में सुनववै करते हुए स्थानीय अदालत ने 23 वर्षीय रीना भगत को आजीवन
कारावास की सजा सुनाई है. साथ ही अदालत ने दोषी माँ पर 5000 रूपये का जुरमाना भी
लगाया है.

बालाघाट जिला एवं सत्र न्यायालय के न्यायाधीश दीपक कुमार
अग्रवाल की अदालत ने गवाहों और दोनों पक्षों की दलीलों के बाद फैसला देते हुए
आरोपी मां रीना भगत को नवजात बच्चे की हत्या का दोषी पाते हुए आजीवन कारावास की
सजा सुनाई है. लोक अभियोजक मदन मोहन द्विवेदी ने बताया कि चांगोटोला थाना अंतर्गत
हिरबाटोला निवासी रीना को विवाह के 6 माह बाद ही 11 नवंबर 2017 को प्रसव पीड़ा
उठने के बाद बालाघाट जिला चिकित्सालय के ट्रॉमा सेंटर में भर्ती कराया गया था,
जहाँ रीना ने एक स्वस्थ बच्चे को जन्म दिया था.

लेकिन इससे पहले रीना
के पति चंचल भगत ने रीना के गर्भवती रहने के दौरान ही शिशु के जन्म पर सवाल खड़े
करते हुए बच्चे के डीएनए जांच की बात कही थी. फिर जब बच्चे का जन्म हुआ तो रीना
ने बदनामी के डर से 14 नवंबर 2017 को रीना ने अपने ही नवजात शिशु की बड़े ही
निर्मम और शातिर तरीके से गला घोंटकर हत्या कर दी थी. उसके बाद रीना के पति ने
नवजात के हत्या कि आशंका जताई थी. पुलिस द्वारा नवजात के शव को पोस्टमार्टम के
लिए भेजा गया, जिससे यह साफ़ हो गया कि बच्चे कि मौत स्वाभिक नहीं बल्कि हत्या है.
सख्ती से पूछताछ करने के बाद रीना ने अपना जुर्म काबुल कर लिया.

नई दिल्ली। छावला इलाके में लतीफ नाम के एक शख्स ने साली से शादी करने की चाहत
में गर्भवती पत्नी शमा की गला दबाकर हत्या कर दी। किसी को शक न हो, इसलिए उसने
वारदात को लूटपाट की शक्ल देने की कोशिश की, लेकिन वह इस बात को भूल गया कि उस
कमरे में मौजूद उसका चार साल का बेटा अयान उसकी हर हरकत को देख रहा था। वारदात के
बाद उसने यह बात अपनी नानी और मामा को बता दी। इसके बाद जब पुलिस ने आरोपी से
कड़ी पूछताछ की तो उसने अपराध कबूल कर लिया। इसके बाद लतीफ को गिरफ्तार कर लिया
गया।

अतिरिक्त पुलिस आयुक्त अनिल कुमार ओझा ने बताया कि बृहस्पतिवार सुबह साढ़े पांच
बजे हरिजन चौपाल दीनपुर स्थित एक घर में चोरी होने की शिकायत पर पुलिस मौके पर
पहुंची। वहां लतीफ और उसकी पत्नी शमा घायलावस्था में मिली। दोनों को राव तुलाराम
अस्पताल ले जाया गया, जहां डॉक्टरों ने शमा को मृत घोषित कर दिया गया। पुलिस को
मौके पर लतीफ का भाई सुरेश मिला। उसने बताया कि इन दोनों का परिवार यहां रहता है।
सुबह पांच बजे जब लतीफ सोकर नहीं उठा तो उसने पत्नी को उसे जगाने के लिए कहा।
सुरेश की पत्नी ने देखा कि कमरे का दरवाजा खुला है और लतीफ जमीन पर और शमा बिस्तर
पर पड़ी थी। लतीफ के मुंह पर, जबकि शमा की गर्दन में टेप लगा हुआ था। साथ ही कमरे
का सामान बिखरा पड़ा था। घटना की सूचना पुलिस को दी गई। पुलिस लतीफ से पूछताछ कर
रही थी। इसी बीच शमा के परिजनों ने थाने पहुंचकर लतीफ पर शमा की हत्या का आरोप
लगाया। उन्होंने बताया कि लतीफ के बेटे अयान ने उसे (लतीफ को) शमा की गर्दन में
टेप लगाते देखा है। इसके बाद कड़ी पूछताछ करने पर लतीफ ने पुलिस को बताया कि वह
साली से शादी करना चाहता था। शमा इसका विरोध कर रही थी। इस बात को लेकर अक्सर
दोनों में कहासुनी होती थी। इसके बाद उसने शमा की हत्या करने की साजिश रची और
सोते समय उसका गला दबा दिया।

की हत्या की गुत्थी पुलिस ने सुलझा ली है। एसीपी अनिल कुमार ओझा ने बताया कि इस
मामले में शमा के पति लतीफ को गिरफ्तार कर लिया गया है। शक के आधार पर पूछताछ में
उसने कबूल कर लिया कि उसने गला दबाकर पत्नी की हत्या की थी क्योंकि वह अपनी पत्नी
की बहन से प्यार करता था और उससे शादी करना चाहता था। इस बात का शमा विरोध करती
थी। इस को लेकर दोनों में अक्सर झगड़ा होता रहता था। कुछ दिन पहले भी दोनों में
झगड़ा हुआ था। इससे तंग आकर लतीफ ने गर्भवती पत्नी की हत्या करने की योजना बनाई।

बुधवार रात सभी सो रहे थे तो उसने पत्नी का गला दबाकर हत्या कर दी। उसने शमा के
मुंह पर टेप लगा दिया था। बाद में मामले को लूट में बदलने के लिए घर के दरवाजे
तोड़े और फिर अपने हाथ-पैर बांध लिए। लतीफ ने घर का सारा सामान भी फैला दिया,
जिससे लगे कि बदमाश घर में घुसे थे और उन्होंने लूटपाट के लिए इस वारदात को अंजाम
दिया, लेकिन लतीफ यह भूल गया था कि घर में मौजूद उसका साढ़े चार साल का बेटा यह
सब देख रहा है। उसने ही अपनी मां की हत्या की बात नानी, मौसी और मामा को बताई।
उसने बताया कि पापा ने ममी के मुंह पर टेप लगाया और यहीं से शक होना शुरू हो गया।

शकूर बस्ती की रहने वाली शमा और छावला के दीनपुर निवासी लतीफ की शादी 2006 में
हुई थी। उनका एक बेटा अयान है और अभी शमा 8 महीने की गर्भवती थी। गुरुवार को जब
शमा के मायके वाले छावला थाना पहुंचे तो उन्होंने चीख-चीख कर कहना शुरू कर दिया
कि शमा की हत्या उसके पति ने की है। इतना ही नहीं, जब लतीफ का पिता थाने पहुंचा
तो शमा के मायके वालों ने उसके साथ मारपीट भी की और सिर पर ईंट मारकर घायल भी कर
दिया। लतीफ पहले एयरपोर्ट पर कार्गो में काम करता था, लेकिन फिलहाल बेरोजगार था।

Jaipur: Jhalawar police on Friday arrested a hospital employee, identified as
Santosh Nirmal, who provided ketamine – an anesthetic drug – that was

According to the police, Santosh currently works at Jhalawar Janana (Women’s)

The body of 32-year-old Chetan Prakash – an intelligence officer with Delhi
intelligence bureau (IB) – was found on the roadside on Bhawanimandi Marg in
Jhalawar on February 14. The police said that he was murdered over an illicit
relationship of his wife with a Rajasthan ACB constable identified as Praveen
Rathore who is currently on the run. The police have arrested Praveen’s
accomplice Shahrukh.

There were no injury marks on Chetan’s body. It was found during investigation
that Chetan was administered an overdose of Ketamine by the accused
persons.

The police allegedly found that Santosh Nirmal who worked at the women’s
hospital had arranged for Ketamine for Praveen.

Chetan Prakash Gelana was last seen alive when he met his parents in
Ramganjmandi on February 14. He left for Jhalawar in a train after meeting the
relative and then went missing. His body was later found on the roadside on
Bhawanimandi Marg.

Police said that Praveen and his friends kidnapped Chetan and then injected an
overdose of Ketamine into his body.

Chetan’s wife and he murdered the IB officer with the help of his friends
because he was a hurdle in their relationship.

Chetan Prakash Gelana was last seen alive when he met his parents in
Ramganjmandi on February 14. He left for Jhalawar in a train after meeting the
relative and then went missing. His body was later found on the roadside on
Bhawanimandi Marg. After preliminary investigation, the police suspected some
foul play and registered an FIR.

Mahadev Meena, father of Chetan Prakash, also registered an FIR with Kotwali
police station in Jhalawar against his daughter-in-law and four others for
attempting to murder the IB officer on January 5.

In the FIR lodged on Sunday, he accused Chetan Prakash’s wife, Praveen Rathore
and three others including Shaqir, Shahrukh and Fareed. He alleged that they
staged an accident in which a truck tried to run the IB officer over on
January 5. Mahadev Meena, a resident of Housing Board Colony, alleged that his
son – who is posted as Information Officer with Delhi IB – had come to
Jhalawar in January.

“On January 5, Chetan was going somewhere on a Scooty when a truck tried to
run him over. It hit the Scooty. Chetan sustained serious injuries, but
survived. His vehicle was damaged,” the father alleged in the FIR.

खुलासा पुलिस ने मंगलवार को किया। चेतन की हत्या में उसकी पत्नी भी शामिल थी।
हत्या वाले दिन भी वह इंटरनेट कॉलिंग के जरिए मुख्य आरोपी प्रवीण के संपर्क में
थी। इससे पहले जितनी बार प्रवीण ने आईबी अफसर को मारने के लिए साजिश रची, अनीता
उन सबमें शामिल थी। दरअसल, कांस्टेबल प्रवीण राठौर के आईबी अफसर की पत्नी से अवैध
संबंध थे। इस कारण दोनों के बीच लड़ाई हुई और प्रवीण ने अपने साथियों के साथ
मिलकर चेतन को किडनैप किया। उसके बाद एनेस्थीसिया का ओवरडोज दिया और नाक दबाकर
सांस रोक दी जिससे उसकी मौत हो गई थी । ये था पूरा मामला...

- शहर के भवानीमंडी मार्ग पर दिल्ली में तैनात आईबी अधिकारी का 14 फरवरी 2018 को
शव मिला था।

- सदर थानाप्रभारी संजय प्रसाद मीणा ने बताया था, मृतक चेतन प्रकाश दिल्ली आईबी
में कार्यरत था बुधवार (14 फरवरी) शाम 6 बजे रामगंजमंडी में परिजनों से मिलकर
झालावाड़ के लिए रवाना हुआ था। 8 बजे तक उसके घर नहीं पहुंचने पर परिजनों ने फोन
किया, लेकिन फोन नहीं लगा।

- रिश्तेदार ने उसकी तलाश शुरू की तो रात करीब साढ़े 8 बजे वह सड़क किनारे बेहोश
मिला तो वो उसे हॉस्पिटल ले गए जहां उसे डॉक्टरों ने उसे मृत घोषित कर दिया
था।

चरित्र पर शक रहा हत्या की वजह

- प्रवीण का घर आना-जाना चेतन और उसके परिवार को खटकता था। उनमें विवाद भी हुआ
था, लेकिन हत्या की असली वजह बनी आईबी अफसर का अपनी पत्नी के चरित्र पर शक गहराना
रहा। दरअसल चेतन को शक था कि छोटा बेटा उसका नहीं है। वह बेटे का डीएनए टेस्ट
कराना चाहता था।

- अनीता और प्रवीण को राज खुलने का डर सताने लगा तो उन्होंने चेतन को रास्ते से
हटाने की साजिश रची। एक के बाद एक 6 हमले कराए, हर बार चेतन बचता गया, लेकिन 7वें
हमले में वह नहीं बच सका। पूरे घटनाक्रम का खुलासा करते हुए एसपी आनंद शर्मा ने
बताया कि आईबी अफसर चेतन प्रकाश की हत्या में उसकी पत्नी अनिता मीणा के लिप्त पाए
जाने पर गिरफ्तार कर लिया गया। वारदात में उसकी अहम भूमिका रही है।

बेटे का डाइपर तक बदला लेकिन फिर भी गहराता गया शक

- जांच अधिकारी एएसपी राठौड़ ने बताया कि पूछताछ में अनिता ने बताया कि उसके पति
चेतन को छोटे वाले बच्चे पर भी शक था कि वह उनका नहीं है। इस बात को लेकर उनके
बीच कई आपसी क्लेश व झगड़ा भी हुआ। इस पर चेतन व परिजन ने बच्चे का डीएनए टेस्ट
कराने की बात कही थी।

- शक की वजह ये थी कि अक्टूबर 2017 में अनिता का प्रसव हुआ। उस समय प्रवीण की
लगातार वहां मौजूदगी रही। प्रवीण ने बच्चे का डाइपर तक चेंज किया। परिजनों के
ऐतराज करने पर भी उनके रिश्तों पर प्रभाव नहीं पड़ा। इससे चेतन को प्रवीण व अनिता
के संबंधों के प्रति शक पैदा हो गया था।

- प्रवीण की नजरों में चेतन खटकने लगा और उसे रास्ते से हटाने का प्लान बना लिया।
चेतन को रास्ते से हटाने के लिए प्रवीण ने शाहरुख को 3 लाख की सुपारी दी थी। चेतन
की जान लेने के लिए बदमाश दिल्ली तक गए, ट्रेन से धक्का देना चाहा, लेकिन 6 बार
वह बच गया था।

स्कूलिंग के समय से ही दोनों जानते थे एक-दूसरे को

- अनिता ने पूछताछ में बताया कि 7th क्लास में पढ़ाई के दौरान ही प्रवीण से
मुलाकात हुई, 2008 में वह टीचर बन गई थी और उसी साल प्रवीण भी पुलिस में भर्ती हो
गया।

- प्रवीण ने अनिता से शादी का प्रस्ताव भी उसके घरवालों से सामने रखा, लेकिन वे
सहमत नहीं हुए। जनवरी 2011 में चेतन प्रकाश से अनिता की शादी हो गई और उसी साल
प्रवीण की भी शादी हो गई।

- 2014 में प्रवीण की पत्नी टीचर बनी और उसकी पोस्टिंग असनावर में जहां अनिता
कार्यरत थी, उसी स्कूल में हो गई। तब प्रवीण और अनिता की दुबारा मुलाकात हुई।

- संबंधों पर पर्दा डालने के लिए 2015 में अनिता ने प्रवीण को रक्षाबंधन पर घर
बुलाया, राखी बांधी और पति से परिचय करवाया लेकिन पिछले साल से उनमें नजदीकियां
बढ़ गईं।

मां व भाई के सामने अनिता ने स्वीकारी अवैध संबंध की बात

- जांच अधिकारी एएसपी राठौड़ ने बताया कि पति की हत्या के षड़यंत्र के आरोप में
गिरफ्तार अनिता ने मुख्य आरोपी प्रवीण राठौर से संबंध की बात उसकी मां-भाई के
सामने पूछताछ में स्वीकार की है।

- अनिता से जानकारी में सामने आया है कि प्रवीण उसके प्यार में इतना डूब गया था
कि वे उसके पति से बेइंतहा नफरत करने लगा। उसके मोबाइल पर अाने वाले पति के मैसेज
का जवाब तक वह नहीं देने देते था। फेसबुक पर पति के साथ पोस्ट किए फोटो भी उसने
हटवा दिए।

प्रवीण के कहने पर सबूत नष्ट कर दिए

जांच अधिकारी एएसपी छगनसिंह राठौड़ ने बताया कि हत्या के बाद अनिता से जांच के
दौरान उसके मोबाइल का एनालिसिस किया तो उसमें पति से तनावपूर्ण दांपत्य जीवन के
बारे में वाट्सएप पर कई सामग्री थी, बाद में उसने सभी मैसेज नष्ट कर दिए थे। इससे
उसकी वारदात में लिप्तता का संदेह बढ़ गया। पूछताछ में उसने बताया कि प्रवीण ने
ही उससे बचाव के लिए ऐसा करने को कहा था।

Two women have been arrested in connection with an extortion case, while their
are still at large. Upparpet police have been investigating a case where the
women and their associates had robbed a man by threatening to file a complaint
of sexual harassment against him.

The arrested are identified as
Asha, 28, a resident of Sarakki Gate of Banashankari and Rekha, 28, a resident
of T Dasarahalli in Peenya. According to the police, on the night of September
11, Santosh Kumar Shetty of Udupi got into an that was already occupied by
women, at Majestic to get dropped to a spot.

After going up to a certain distance, the women in the auto rickshaw started
demanding money and other valuables from Shetty. When Shetty refused, they
threatened him saying that they would create a scene and file a complaint of
sexual harassment against him if he fails to give them the money. The women told
him that they would say that Shetty had got into the auto rickshaw and sexually
harassed them. Fearing the consequences, Shetty took out some money from his
pocket to give it to them. They forcibly took all the money from him. He had Rs
3,000 with him, Shetty told the police.

On September 12, he had filed a complaint with the Upparpet police and the
police had taken up a case of extortion. As such incidents are on the rise, the
police took the probe on priority and managed to nab the duo from Majestic area
with the help of their informants. Police said, the women use to wink at their
persons they spotted as targets at the Majestic bus station and invite them in a
auto rickshaw. “Once people fall for their tricks, they would blackmail them,”
an officer said.

Police have recovered the robbed money from the women. Their associates,
identified as Rathna, Suman, Padma and an autorickshaw driver are still at large
and efforts are on to nab them. According to the police, this gang is not behind
the robbing of a decorator from Tirupati and the recent robbery of a person from
North, who lost his mobile phone and cash to a woman extortionist in the subway.

Police have requested the people to alert them on West division
control room 080-22943232 or call DCP (West) 9480801701 and inform if they have
been robbed or have information on such gangs operating in Majestic area.

बिहार के औरंगाबाद ज़िले में एक लड़के ने अपनी मां की हत्या कर दी. मामले के
मुताबिक एक महिला का करीब 13 दिनों से कोई पता नहीं चल रहा था. उसके रिश्तेदारों
ने जब गांव के लोगों से पूछताछ की तब भी कोई पता नहीं चला. फिर छानबीन शुरू हुई
और गांव के पास ही एक गड्ढे में दफनाई हुई उस महिला की लाश बरामद हुई. पुलिस ने
जांच की तो पता चला कि महिला की हत्या किसी और ने नहीं बल्कि गोद लिये गए बेटे ने
ही गला घोंटकर की थी.

Hyderabad: Chopped body parts of an unidentified pregnant woman were found
stuffed in two gunny bags near Botanical Garden area at Kondapur close to
Hitech City in Hyderabad on Tuesday, police said.

The incident came to light after local residents spotted the blood-stained
bags by the roadside at around 9:30 am, and alerted the police.

When the police opened the bags, they found decomposed body parts of a woman
aged between 25 and 30, an official said.

While one bag contained the severed head and hands, another was stuffed with
torso, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Madhapur Division) N Shyam Prasad Rao
told PTI.

"Some locals alerted the police after finding the blood-stained gunny bags
lying by the road near Botanical Garden. After opening the bags, chopped body
parts were found," Rao said.

A medical examination found that the woman was eight-month pregnant and she
might have been killed at another place, an investigating official said.

"Her body was cut into pieces before being dumped into the two gunny bags,"
the official said.

"It seems she had been killed around two or three days ago," the official
said, adding that as per the woman's attire, she seems to be from either UP,
Bihar or Odisha.

A case of murder has been registered and an investigation was underway.

The police urged to gynaecologists in the city to recall if any pregnant woman
matching the above description had visited them and share the information with
them.

On Monday, a severed head of a man was found near a religious place in
Nalgonda town of Telangana.

The eight-month pregnant woman, whose body was found chopped up in two sacks
in Hyderabad, was allegedly killed in cold blood for becoming a ‘hindrance’ to
an extramarital affair, said the Cyberabad police.

The 32-year-old victim, Bingee alias Pinky, was killed last month and her body
was dumped near Hyderabad's Botanical Gardens in Kondapur on January 30.

After struggling to find clues initially, the police said that CCTV footage of
two people on a bike led to a breakthrough in the case. The CCTV footage had
shown the duo riding on a bike, with the pillion rider carrying a heavy bag.
The pillion rider was a woman, while a man was riding the vehicle.

According to the police, the main accused are Bingee's partner, identified as
Vikas Kashyap (35), and Amarkanth Jha (21), a bartender. The two are presently
absconding.

They conducted searches in Siddique Nagar and also took Amarkanth's parents --
Mamatha Jha (37) and Anil Jha (75), into custody.

Background

"Bingee was from a very poor family and her father, Dabboo Singh, works at a
brick factory in Rajasthan. Bingee's mother stays at their native Malti
village in Bihar," Cyberabad Police Commissioner Sandeep Shandilya told
reporters.

In a press release, the police said that around 13 years ago, Bingee had
married one Dinesh in Chandausi town of Uttar Pradesh and had three children
with him.

Dinesh, Bingee and Vikas were from the same village, and Vikas developed a
relationship with the woman.

"In January 2017, after there was some marital discord, Bingee and Vikas
travelled to her native village in Bihar and settled there. She took one son
along with her, while she left two children with Dinesh," Shandilya said.

It was here that Vikas met the Jha family and allegedly developed an illicit
relationship with Mamatha.

"It was not a secret as such. Locals that our police team spoke to in the
village, said that Vikas had even begun handing over his money to Mamatha
instead of Bingee," the Commissioner said.

Around eight months ago in June or July last year, Vikas and the entire Jha
family left for Hyderabad, leaving Bingee alone.

The crime

Around 45 days before she was killed, Bingee managed to trace the four accused
and landed up in Hyderabad's Siddique Nagar along with her eight-year-old
son.

"Bingee's movements were completely restricted, and she was not allowed to go
anywhere. There was also a feeling that she had also become a hindrance to the
relationship between Mamatha and Vikas. Due to this, they planned her murder,"
Shandilya alleged.

Following this, the police alleged that the three members of the family along
with Vikas, hatched a plan to kill Bingee.

Late in the night of January 27, Mamatha and Vikas picked up an argument with
Bingee, before allegedly pinning her against a wall.

As she was eight months pregnant, she collapsed instantly. The police said
that the accused then allegedly took turns at punching and kicking her till
she died. They then kept the body in their house for one day.

A post-mortem examination revealed that the woman was eight-months pregnant
and may have also been beaten before she was killed, as she had a fractured
pelvis and a ruptured uterus, besides broken ribs.

On the night of January 28, Amarkanth bought a marble cutting machine and put
Bingee's body in the bathroom, before the accused allegedly cut it into
several pieces, wrapped it in polythene covers and dumped it in a gunny
sack.

In the early hours of January 29, Mamatha and Amarkanth allegedly took the
body in a large, black bag and dumped it at the spot where it was found.

Cracking the case

The police said that since the body was bloated when they found it, they
monitored every car that passed the area but to no avail.

"It was then that one of the investigating officers suggested that the body
may not have been bloated when it was dumped, and could have been carried on a
bike. We re-checked all the CCTV footage and managed to zero down on the
suspects," Shandilya said.

"Once the bike was identified as belonging to the manager of a bar, we
realised that he had lent it to Amarkanth, who had been driving it and was
caught on camera as well," the Commissioner added.

When the police raided the house on February 12, they learnt that Amarkanth
had fled to Bihar on February 3, after boarding a train from the Secunderabad
station.

While Vikas is still absconding, a police official told TNM that Amarkanth Jha
had been traced to Bihar, and a police team has been sent there. He also added
that Amarkanth would be taken into custody soon.

Bingee's eight-year-old son who was rescued, then provided vital clues.

The Cyberabad Commissioner said that a senior woman DCP-level officer spoke to
the child and gained his trust, before he said that his native village was in
Bihar, through which they managed to piece the entire crime together.

The police seized the cutting machine used to chop the body, along with other
incriminating material.

तीन बार बेचने और उसके साथ दुष्कर्म के मामले में एक गिरोह की तीन महिलाओं समेत 6
लोगों को गिरफ्तार किया है. बड़वाह के अनुविभागीय अधिकारी (पुलिस) मान सिंह ठाकुर
ने आज बताया कि 22 वर्षीय युवती के अपहरण और उसको तीन बार बेचे जाने के मामले में
राजस्थान के प्रतापगढ़ स्थित मैरिज ब्यूरो के कल्पेश जैन उसकी पत्नी रानू तथा एक
अन्य व्यक्ति अनिल जैन और बलवाड़ा थाना क्षेत्र की गुंडा सूची में शामिल अंतिम
शितोले, उसकी पत्नी दुर्गा और एक युवती मीरा को कल गिरफ्तार किया गया है.

उन्होंने बताया कि सभी आरोपियों को गुरूवार को न्यायालय में पेश किया गया जहां से
तीनों महिलाओं को महिला जेल तथा शेष तीन आरोपियों की 12 फरवरी तक पुलिस रिमांड
स्वीकृत हुई है. इसे मामले में दो खरीददार लोकेश नन्दवाना और नवीन सिसोदिया तथा
एक अन्य शिव शर्मा फरार हैं. ठाकुर ने बताया कि तीन जून 2017 को बड़े भाई से
नाराज होकर 22 वर्षीय युवती अपनी मौसी के घर पीथमपुर जाने के लिए निकली थी. इसी
दौरान बस में उसका परिचित अंतिम शितोले से हुआ. वह उसे इंदौर ले गया, जहां से
अनिल तथा अल्पेश जैन के साथ वह युवती को राजस्थान के प्रतापगढ़ ले गया.

उन्होंने बताया कि अंतिम ने वहां कथित तौर पर युवती के साथ दुष्कर्म किया और
50,000 रूपये में युवती को अनिल एवं अल्पेश जैन को बेच दिया. इसके बाद इन लोगों
ने युवती को साढ़े चार लाख रुपए में नन्दवाना को बेच दिया. युवती नन्दवाना के साथ
करीब ढाई महीने तक रही. नन्दवाना उसे वापस मैरिज ब्यूरो के संचालकों के पास छोड़
गया. उन्होंने बताया कि इसके बाद अल्पेश, अनिल और रानू ने युवती को व्यवसायी नवीन
सिसोदिया को चार लाख रूपये में बेच दिया। वहीं से युवती ने फोन कर पिता को यह
जानकारी दी. युवती के पिता की शिकायत पर पुलिस अधीक्षक डी कल्याण चक्रवर्ती के

जिले की बलवाड़ा पुलिस ने 22 वर्षीय दलित युवती को तीन बार बेचने और उसके साथ
दुष्कर्म के मामले में एक गिरोह की तीन महिलाओं समेत 6 लोगों को गिरफ्तार किया
है।

बड़वाह के अनुविभागीय अधिकारी (पुलिस) मान सिंह ठाकुर ने आज बताया कि 22 वर्षीय
युवती के अपहरण और उसको तीन बार बेचे जाने के मामले में राजस्थान के प्रतापगढ़
स्थित मैरिज ब्यूरो के कल्पेश जैन उसकी पत्नी रानू तथा एक अन्य व्यक्ति अनिल जैन
और बलवाड़ा थाना क्षेत्र की गुंडा सूची में शामिल अंतिम शितोले, उसकी पत्नी
दुर्गा और एक युवती मीरा को कल गिरफ्तार किया गया है।

उन्होंने बताया कि सभी आरोपियों को गुरूवार को न्यायालय में पेश किया गया जहां से
तीनों महिलाओं को महिला जेल तथा शेष तीन आरोपियों की 12 फरवरी तक पुलिस रिमांड
स्वीकृत हुई है। इसे मामले में दो खरीददार लोकेश नन्दवाना और नवीन सिसोदिया तथा
एक अन्य शिव शर्मा फरार हैं।

ठाकुर ने बताया कि तीन जून 2017 को बड़े भाई से नाराज होकर 22 वर्षीय युवती अपनी
मौसी के घर पीथमपुर जाने के लिए निकली थी। इसी दौरान बस में उसका परिचित अंतिम
शितोले से हुआ। वह उसे इंदौर ले गया, जहां से अनिल तथा अल्पेश जैन के साथ वह
युवती को राजस्थान के प्रतापगढ़ ले गया।

उन्होंने बताया कि अंतिम ने वहां कथित तौर पर युवती के साथ दुष्कर्म किया और
50,000 रूपये में युवती को अनिल एवं अल्पेश जैन को बेच दिया।

इसके बाद इन लोगों ने युवती को साढ़े चार लाख रुपए में नन्दवाना को बेच दिया।
युवती नन्दवाना के साथ करीब ढाई महीने तक रही। नन्दवाना उसे वापस

मैरिज ब्यूरो के संचालकों के पास छोड़ गया।

उन्होंने बताया कि इसके बाद अल्पेश, अनिल और रानू ने युवती को व्यवसायी नवीन
सिसोदिया को चार लाख रूपये में बेच दिया। वहीं से युवती ने फोन कर

पिता को यह जानकारी दी। युवती के पिता की शिकायत पर पुलिस अधीक्षक डी कल्याण
चक्रवर्ती के निर्देशन में पुलिस ने छह आरोपियों को गिरफ्तार कर युवती को उनके
कब्जे से छुड़ा लिया।

A day after the murder of a disc jockey (DJ), who owned an entertainment
orchestra group as well, the police suspect that a close relative of the
victim’s wife may be behind the crime. He is absconding.

Meanwhile, the police recovered several used condoms and other objectionable
items from the house of the victim.

The body of 32-year-old Nahid Khan was recovered from his house at Baba Deep
Singh Nagar on Wednesday. He was alone at the time of the incident as his wife
was traveling to Bengaluru where she worked as a dancer. “Used condoms were
found from the room and his call details show that he was in touch with many
women of the city,” said Harjinder Singh, SHO, Urban Estate.

Meanwhile, SP (Investigation) Harwinder Singh said the recovery of many
condoms suggested the presence of a number of men in the house. “We are not
sure why so many used condoms and video CDs were there in his house. We will
probe the case as we suspect the role of a close relative,” he added.

The police said the victim’s body was found in his house with multiple stab
wounds. “Prima facie it may be a handiwork of more than two persons. There was
no forcible entry and it seems that the murderers were known to the victim. We
are probing all angles,” the police said.

A case has been registered under Section 302 of the Indian penal Code (IPC)
against unknown persons on the statement of the victim’s brother, Taufiq. The
Urban Estate police have rounded up a few persons in the case.

Patiala: 32-year-old man Nahid Salmani, who resided in Baba Deep Singh Nagar
found murdered inside his house.

According to the police Nahid, who lived alone in house number 35 A in the
said locality had been attacked by swords. They said fatal injuries had been
inflicted around the neck and waist of the deceased that were spotted during
the preliminary investigations.

Superintendent of Police Kesar Singh said that from it appeared that more than
one person could be involved in the attack.

It was learnt that his wife lives in Bangalore, while other members of the
family reside including his brother reside near Mohindra College on the other
side of the city. Last night, he returned home after dropping his younger
brother to the other house at around 8:30 pm, the police said.

They are suspecting that Nahid had company last evening as they had found
multiple glasses that were being used to consume liquor. One of the cops said
that there was a possibility of a heated argument that led to a bloody scuffle
between friends. He said that the police were working on a number of theories
and it was too early to reveal any further details. A team of forensic experts
was also rushed to the spot to pick vital pieces of evidence from the crime
scene that could prove the prosecution’s case in the court. Services of dog
squad were also pressed into services.

Meanwhile, the police said that a case under Section 302 of the IPC had been
registered against unidentified persons at the Sadar police station and the
matter was being further investigated. The body was shifted to the mortuary of
the Government Rajindra Hospital for post-mortem examination.

तोहिद उर्फ पोदा मोबाइल बंद मिलने पर तोता को बुलाने घर पहुंचा। वहां उसने देखा
कि घर में बाथरूम से लेकर कमरे तक खून बिखरा था और कमरे को बाहर से ताला लगा
था।

– पालतू चार पिट बुल डॉग्स ऊपर बंधे थे। कमरे का ताला तोड़कर अंदर गया तो देखा कि
भाई तोता को लहूलुहान हालत में बेड के पास फर्श पर पड़ा हुआ था।

– वारदात की सूचना पर थाना अर्बन स्टेट, एसपी सिटी केसर सिंह व अन्य थाना के
एसएचओ घटनास्थल पर पहुंचे।

– भाइयों ने बताया कि मंगलवार रात 10 बजे तोता ने उन्हें ढिल्लों कॉलोनी उनके
मां-बाप के घर छोड़ा था। तोता बाबा दीप सिंह नगर में अकेला रहता था। वह उन्हें घर
पर डॉग्स को दूध पिलाने की बात कहकर निकला था। पड़ोसियों के मुताबिक नाहिद का
स्वभाव बहुत अच्छा था। वह हर किसी का मददगार रहा है।

वारदात में करीबी का हाथ

– पुलिस टीम व फॉरेंसिक एक्सपर्ट्स ने मौका-ए-वारदात की जांच की। कमरे के दरवाजे
पर भी तलवार का निशान मिला।

– तोता की गर्दन पर तलवार से जोरदार वार होने से उसके शरीर से लगातार खून बह रहा
था। इससे पता चलता है कि हत्यारों में बहुत खुन्नस थी।

– जाहिर है हत्यारे तोता के करीबी रहे होंगे, क्योंकि वारदात की रात घर में मौजूद
चार पिट बुल डॉग्स भौंके भी नहीं।

– हत्यारों ने वारदात से पहले डॉग्स को ऊपर के कमरे में बांधा होगा। माना जा रहा
है कि इनमें कोई लड़की भी रही होगी।

– किसी पार्टी के लिए तोता बाहर से चिकन लेकर आया था। इस दौरान वह सोशल
नेटवर्किंग पर ऑनलाइन रहा।

– रात करीब 1 बजे के बाद तोता का मोबाइल फोन स्विच ऑफ हो गया। माना जा रहा है कि
हत्यारे के घर की पिछली दीवार फांदकर फरार हुए है।

A 17-year-old girl has been arrested for allegedly gunning down her
ex-boyfriend on February 21 in Sonepat’s Matindu village, police said.

The accused, a Class 12 pass-out, was angry at deceased Deepak Kumar, 19, as
the latter was mounting pressure on her to marry him.

Deepak’s body was found at the family-owned stable in their agriculture
fields. His father Samundar Singh said his son used to help him in
agricultural activities after passing school. He used to sleep alone at their
stable every night to take care of the animals. Samundar said when he went to
check on his son on the morning of February 21, he was lying in a pool of
blood with gunshot wounds.

Samundar had suspected it to be the case of honour killing, as his son was in
a relationship with the accused. But the girl’s family had fixed her marriage
to someone else. Based on his complaint, the police had booked the father and
brothers of the girl for murder.

However, a week later, the police found that Deepak was shot dead by the girl
herself and not her family members. The police said they found the broken
pieces of bangles of the girl at the spot of the murder and her call details
confirmed she met Deepak on the night of the murder. During sustained
interrogation, she confessed to the crime. She was arrested and produced
before court that sent her to a juvenile jail.

“She told us in interrogation that her parents had fixed her wedding with
someone else, but Deepak was forcing her to elope with him. He was threatening
her that if she did not elope, he would kill her family. The duo indulged in a
quarrel a night before her wedding during which she shot him dead,” Kharkhoda
police station in-charge Virender Singh said.

The police said the minor girl secretly stole her cousin brother’s pistol to
commit the crime. The police said they have given clean chit to the family
members of the girls, who were earlier booked for murder.

Sonepat, Mar 1: The Haryana Police has arrested a 17-year-old girl for
allegedly shooting her ex-boyfriend dead on February 21 in Sonepat’s Matindu
village. The victim has been identified as 19-year-old Deepak Kumar.

According to a report in Hindustan Times, Deepak’s body was found at an
agricultural field owned by his family. He was found lying in a pool of blood
by his father on February 21.

Initially, the police had booked the girl’s father and brothers for the murder
as Deepak’s father had lodged a complaint of honour killing against them.
However, the police found out the reality after a week when the police found
pieces of bangles at the murder spot.

The girl confessed to the crime during interrogation. She has been sent to a
juvenile jail.

In her statement to the police, she told that her family had fixed her
marriage whereas, the boy was pressurising her to elope. He had even
threatened her to kill her family if she refuses to do so.

Murder of 18-year-old youth in Sonepat: Broken bangles, call records led
police to minor girl

Days after a 17-year-old girl was apprehended for allegedly shooting dead an
18-year-old boy in a village in Haryana’s Sonepat, police said the juvenile is
in judicial custody and has been sent to an observation home. Police said the
incident took place on February 20 in Ashrafpur Matindu village. The boy,
Deepak, was found dead in a shed where he usually slept. Police had initially
registered an FIR against four relatives of the girl, based on a complaint by
Deepak’s father, Samundra Singh. He had alleged that they shot him as the girl
would “talk to my son over the phone and meet him”.

“Deepak had told us about their relationship. We had even met her parents,
telling them to keep an eye on her. But they said our son is the one who calls
her up and asks her to meet him. They accused us of trying to ruin their
daughter’s reputation and threatened to kill Deepak if he did not leave the
girl alone,” Singh said. The girl’s wedding was called off in view of the
investigation. The Sonepat Police found that the girl was behind the crime and
arrested her. Police said she confessed to having procured the service
revolver from her cousin, who works in the Border Security Force (BSF),
without his knowledge.

Inspector Wazir Singh, SHO, Kharkhauda police station, said, “We questioned
everyone from the girl’s family. She eventually confessed.” “We found broken
pieces of her bangles in the shed. When we went through the call records, it
emerged that she was the last person he had spoken to.It was difficult even
for us to believe that she had committed the murder. But when her whole family
was questioned in the wake of her revelations, the facts emerged and she was
found to be speaking the truth,” a police source said.

“She was also made to load and use a similar revolver, which she was able to
do without any difficulty,” the source said. According to police, the girl
revealed that she and Deepak had been friends for several years but he had
recently started pestering her to marry him. The night before her wedding, she
told the police that he called her and threatened to kill her family and her
husband if she did not run away with him.

“She said that she went to meet him to calm him down and carried the weapon as
a precautionary measure,” Inspector Singh said. However, she and Deepak got
into an argument. She told the police that he continued to threaten her and
starting hurling abuses at her family. “She alleged that he then slapped her,
following which she shot him,” an officer said.

In a shocking discovery, the police on Sunday retrieved as many as 19 female
foetuses from a sewer in a village in western Maharashtra’s Sangli
district.

The police, while investigating the death of 26-year-old Swati Jamdade,
allegedly after an illegal abortion went awry on March 3, discovered the
abandoned foetuses in blue plastic bags in the sewer a few yards away from a
private clinic at Mhaisal village, 260 km from here, on Sunday.

The clinic, named ‘Bharati Hospital’ is run by one Dr. Babasaheb Khidrapure.
He and an accomplice allegedly ran this racket. His wife is suspected to have
been involved as well.

The doctor, who holds a Bachelor’s degree in Homoeopathy, is on the run, said
Sangli Superintendent of Police Dattatray Shinde. A number of health
authorities from the district headquarters descended upon Mhaisal on Monday,
with many questioning Dr. Khidrapure’s dubious medical antecedents.

Villagers said the clinic was in operation for nearly a decade.

Mr. Shinde told The Hindu that the police had constituted four-five teams to
nab the culprit, while spreading the dragnet to neighbouring Karnataka as
well.

“At present, we are grilling the compounder about the nature of the illicit
abortion racket, which we believe has been going on for over two months now,”
he said.

The illegal operation used to be carried out on the ground floor of the
clinic. The police raid yielded a number of surgical instruments and other
equipment. A register apparently containing names and addresses of patients is
also being scrutinised.

Victim's husband arrested

Meanwhile, the deceased woman's husband, Praveen Jamdade, has been taken into
police custody after Swati’s kin lodged a complaint with the police.

According to sources, the deceased was taken to Dr. Khidrapure’s clinic by her
husband for abortion as the couple had a girl child for the third time.
Swati’s kin alleged that her in-laws forced her to abort when they discovered
the child was a girl.

Swati’s father, Sunil Jadhav, complained to the police of Praveen’s
‘willingness’ to abort the foetus when it was illicitly detected as being that
of a girl. ''He went ahead with the illegal operation despite my objections,
causing my daughter’s death,” he said.

The Jadhav kin, appalled by Swati’s death and the grisly nature of the racket,
have demanded stern action against the doctor.

A case has been registered against both Praveen Jamdade and Dr. Khidrapure
under sections 302 and 204 (destruction of evidence) of the Indian Penal Code
(IPC) and the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PCPNDT) Act,
1994 among others.

Eerie parallel to Beed incident

While the grisly racket has yet to sink in the minds of the stunned villagers
of Mhaisal, it bears an eerie parallel to that of the female foeticide racket
involving Dr. Sudam Munde and his wife, Dr. Saraswati Munde, in Beed.

A 2010 sting operation conducted by NGO ‘Lek Ladki Abhiyan’ had Munde casually
stating that he fed the abandoned foetuses to dogs. Despite being arrested, he
was released and continued with his nefarious activities, with no apparent
fear of the law.

The then Health Minister, Satish Shetty, had even admitted that a woman civil
surgeon who had gone to investigate the Munde’s hospital, found herself locked
in a room and abused by goons, believed to be Munde’s henchmen.

The couple allegedly wielded great clout in Beed’s Parli Tehsil, where they
ran their clinic, Munde Hospital. It took the death of Vijaymala Petkar in
2012 during a botched termination of her pregnancy, to ‘officially’ blow the
lid off the Munde couple’s infamy.

After weeks on the run, the couple was finally arrested. A local court in Beed
sentenced them to four years of rigorous imprisonment under the Pre-Natal
Diagnostic Techniques (PCPNDT) Act in 2015.

Sangli district's Mhaisal village on the Maharashtra-Karnataka border.
Incidentally, just a few metres away is the Bharati Hospital of Dr Balasaheb
Khidrapure, the doctor who was arrested for allegedly running an illegal
abortion and female foeticide racket.

Swati Jamdade died on 1 March while undergoing an abortion performed by
Khidrapure. Following Swati's death, her husband Praveen Jamdade was arrested.
During investigation, police found 19 foetuses, some in a state of decay, some
buried under a stream close to the hospital. Gradually, a horrifying tale of
female foeticide unfolded.

On 1 March, Swati had gone to Khidrapure's hospital to undergo sonography,
during which the doctor allegedly revealed the sex of the foetus to the
couple. She later underwent an abortion which caused her death. Suspecting
foul play, Swati's parents lodged a police complaint. Investigation revealed
that she underwent the illegal abortion as the sex of the baby was that of a
girl. A case was registered against Khidrapure, following which he fled the
village. He was later arrested in Belgaum, Karnataka, along with his wife. The
police also found that he had a well-equipped hospital with an operation
theater in the basement of the hospital.

Khidrapure was a homeopath and was legally not allowed to conduct surgeries.
The police suspected a Maharashtra-Karnataka cross-border racket. This led to
the arrest of 12 people till date, three of which, including Khidrapure, are
doctors. Arrested include Dr Shrihari Ghodke (homepath) from Kagwad and Dr
Ramesh Devgikar (MBBS) from Vijapur. These doctors had appointed agents in the
two states who would get cases to the doctors. The patients in Maharashtra
were sent to Karnataka and vice versa to avoid raising suspicion. They also
made sure that the patients undergo tests in four to five different hospitals
before the abortion is conducted. Instead of conducting the abortions in an
operation theatre, a temporary hut would be built where the patient would
undergo surgery and could stay for further treatment. Investigation revealed
that sometimes, in the absence of doctors, the compounder or the nurse would
perform the abortion. After the abortion, they would bury the foetus or flush
it down the toilet with acid or feed it to the dogs. It was only because some
foetuses were put inside plastic bags and buried underground that the entire
racket came to light.

An agent, whose identity remains undisclosed, revealed, "Doctors would charge
Rs 25,000 per abortion. There are times, when the patients would be informed
that it was a female foetus, when it was male, just for the money."

A complaint against Khidrapure was filed last year which had led to a raid by
the officials of the health department, but they now claim that they did not
find anything during the raid. However, this year, another raid was conducted
after the police case was filed, they found that illegal medicines were being
used and that the operation theater was illegal and the doctor had no licence
for years to conduct surgeries.

"We are still investigating the matter. Twelve people have been arrested from
Maharashtra and Karnataka so far. We are investigating their involvement,"
Deputy superintendent of police Deepali Kale, who is investigating the case,
said.

"A raid was conducted on a tip-off. But the official claimed that he did not
find anything, therefore, no action was initiated," Archana Patil, additional
director health services, said.

"Police can initiate action only when there is a criminal angle involved. We
could initiate the probe because of Swati's death. But why aren't the health
officials taking any action? There were more than enough factors that could
have aroused suspicion. But they conducted only one raid and claim to have
found nothing. Everything seems fishy," said a police officer investigating
the case.

But this is not the first such case in Maharashtra. On 18 May, 2012, Vijaymala
Patekar from Beed district died while undergoing an illegal abortion. This led
to the arrest of Dr Sudam and Dr Saraswati Munde. Munde too was accused of
conducting sex determination test a year before his arrest. But he managed to
continue with his practice despite the allegations. Seventeen people were
arrested in connection to this case. And now after five years, trial is still
going on.

Incidentally, Sangli and Beed both happen to be the districts with the lowest
child sex ratios in the state. The sex ratio in Beed has been on a constant
decline since 1991.

Yearly data collected by the authorities has also shown a rise.

The data on the Maharashtra health department website indicates that sex
determination and female foeticide take place in these districts. Does the
health department wait till a patient dies to investigate the doctor?

"The problem lies in the way cases are registered," said Girish Laad, an
activist working for 'Save the Girl Child' campaign. "We had conducted a
research a few years ago and found that doctors can be charged under
Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PCPNDT) Act only when the
documents are incomplete or the agency concerned has proof that sex
determination was conducted. There is an easy way out — under-reporting. If
the foetus is female, they simply don't record it, but go ahead with the
abortion," he said.

"Silent observer installed in the machines a few years ago was able to keep a
check to some extent. But doctors found a way out by using old machines which
did not have the equipment installed," he added.

A recent case registered in Daund taluka of Pune district proved this theory
right. Dr Shinde from Phaltan was arrested along with four accomplices in
Yawat village, Daund taluka while conducting a sex determination test. He had
installed the ultrasound machine in a car and would take it to various places.
Police acted on a tip off that led to the arrest.

"We had sent a proposal to the government for the installation of a device
that we have developed called active tracker," said Laad. "This equipment is
like a CCTV camera for ultrasound machines. It is connected to the power
supply and keeps a track of all the sonographies conducted on the machine and
simultaneously sends the data to government officials. But we did not get any
response from the government. Union minister Maneka Gandhi has ordered the
installation of device marked under the 'Beti Bachao' campaign. Few states
like Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan are using this technology. But there is no
response from the ministers and officials of Maharashtra. We had even told
them that we will give it for free," he said.

Kiran Moghe, president of Janawadi Mahila Sanghatna, posed a pertinent
question: Why don't the health and revenue department officials, who have the
authority, initiate any action? Why wait for a police complaint? "The PCPNDT
Act is near perfect. There are no loopholes. What we are probably falling
short of is action," she added.

The long pendency of cases is another problem. In Maharashtra, 572 cases were
registered under PCPNDT Act since 2002, of which 26 are decoy cases. Hearing
of almost 55 percent cases is going on. As most cases are registered based on
incomplete documentation, it becomes difficult to prove them in court. Decoy
cases are small in number. According to a Supreme Court judgement, these cases
should reach to a conclusion within six months. This seems far from
possible.

"The mentality needs to change. Moreover, the doctors make a large profit in
these kind of cases and tend to influence patients. Apart from the burden of
dowry, an insecure environment for girls remains a concern for parents.
Probably why it leads to female foeticide. We need to take these issues into
account and focus on the action that can be taken under the PCPNDT Act," said
Moghe.

When the Mhaisal issue was raised in the ongoing Assembly session of
Maharashtra, minister Deepak Sawant announced that a report about the case
will be tabled before the Assembly. The health department has also formed a
committee which will be chaired by the dean of the medical college of Sangli
to help the police investigation. "They will focus on the technical aspects,"
said Patil.

After the Beed and Mhaisal cases came to light, multiple raids were conducted
but these are just temporary measures. The declining sex ratio is alarming.
Awareness drives are being conducted, but the government should play a serious
role to curb such incidences.

हरिद्वार में पिता-पुत्र की धारदार हथियार से हत्‍या

हरिद्वार, [जेएनएन]: कनखल क्षेत्र के जगजीतपुर में एक पिता-पुत्र की धारदार
हथियार से हत्‍या कर दी गई। पुलिस ने शव को कब्‍जे में लेकर पोस्‍टमार्टम के लिए
भिजवाया दिया है।

मामला कनखल क्षेत्र के जगजीतपुर की केशव पुरम कालोनी का है। आज यहां एक मकान से
दुर्गांध आने पर लोगों ने इसकी सूचना पुलिस को दी। पुलिस ने मौके से दो शवों को
बरामद किया। मृतकों की शिनाख्‍त पिता-पुत्र रिटायर्ड रेलवे कर्मचारी श्याम लाल
कुकरेजा (65) और भारत कुकरेजा (29 वर्ष) पुत्र श्याम लाल कुकरेजा के रूप में हुई।
पुलिस ने बताया कि दोनों पिता-पुत्र घर मे अकेले रहते थे। कुछ दिन पहले धारदार
हथियार से उनकी हत्‍या कर दी गई। हत्‍या के कारणों का अभी पता नहीं चल पाया है।
पुलिस मामले की जांच कर रही है।

पिता-पुत्र की हत्या का खुलासा, दो गिरफ्तार

कनखल जगजीतपुर की केशवपुरम कॉलोनी में पिता और पुत्र की हत्या के मामले में पुलिस
ने उनके एक रिश्तेदार और उसके एक दोस्त को गिरफ्तार किया है। मुख्य आरोपी ने
पुलिस को बताया कि भाई पर जानलेवा हमले का बदला लेने के लिए उन्होंने भारत
कुकरेजा उर्फ राहुल की हत्या की थी। पकड़े जाने के डर से उन्हें पिता श्यामलाल
कुकरेजा को भी मौत के घाट उतार दिया था।

कनखल थाने में एसपी सिटी ममता वोहरा ने मामले का खुलासा करते हुए बताया कि बीते
साल 15 अक्तूबर को सेवानिवृत्त रेलवे कर्मचारी श्यामलाल कुकरेजा और उसके पुत्र
भारत उर्फ राहुल कुकरेजा की धारदार हथियार से हत्या कर दी गई थी। खुलासे के लिए
एसएसपी कृष्ण कुमार वीके ने आरोपियों की गिरफ्तारी के लिए टीम का गठन किया था।
काफी प्रयास के बाद भी पुलिस को सफलता नहीं मिल रही थी। इस बीच मुखबिर ने पुलिस
को सूचना दी कि 12 अक्तूबर को मृतक भारत कुकरेजा के साडू गौतम चौधरी के भाई
अभिषेक चौधरी और एक अन्य युवक को घर से निकलता हुआ देखा गया था। पुलिस ने अभिषेक
चौधरी को हिरासत में लेकर पूछताछ शुरू की। शुरुआत में अभिषेक पुलिस को बहलाता
रहा, लेकिन सख्ती से पूछताछ करने पर अभिषेक ने पूरी कहानी उगल दी। अभिषेक ने
बताया कि उसने अपने दोस्त आकाश चौहान के साथ हत्या को अंजाम दिया है। अभिषेक
चौधरी ने बताया कि भारत ने उसके भाई और अपने साडू गौतम चौधरी को जान से मारने का
प्रयास किया था। बताया कि भारत ने चार माह पूर्व गौतम को एक गाड़ी से कुचलने का
प्रयास करवाया था। जिसमें गौतम चौहान की दोनों पैर खराब हो गए थे। उसके बाद से ही
अभिषेक भारत से रंजीश रखने लगा था। 11 अक्टूबर को मौका पाकर अभिषेक और उसका दोस्त
आकाश चौहान भारत कुकरेजा के जगजीतपुर स्थित घर पहुंचे। उन्होंने भारत से गौतम का
एक्सीटेंड कराने का कारण पूछा। इस पर भारत ने अभिषेक के साथ मारपीट शुरू कर दी।
इसी दौरान पीछे से आकाश ने चाकू से हमला कर भारत की हत्या कर दी। कुछ ही देर में
पिता श्यामलाल भी ऊपर के कमरे में पहुंच गए। वे घटना को अनदेखा कर वापस नीचे जाने
लगे तो दोनों ने मिलकर श्यामलाल की भी हत्या कर दी। पुलिस ने आरोपियों के पास से
दो चाकू, भारत के कपड़े और आईडी, आधार कार्ड बरामद किया है।

डबल मर्डर में पड़ोसी भी पुलिस रडार पर

जागरण संवाददाता, हरिद्वार: जगजीतपुर में बाप- बेटे की हत्या के मामले में
रिश्तेदारों और परिचितों के अलावा पड़ोसी भी पुलिस के रडार पर हैं। पुलिस को शक है
कि पड़ोस के कुछ लोग दोहरे हत्याकांड में काफी कुछ जानते हैं। लेकिन जानकारी छुपा
रहे हैं। ऐसे में हत्याकांड का पर्दाफाश होने पर पुलिस ऐसे पड़ोसियों के खिलाफ भी
साक्ष्य छिपाने की धाराओं में कार्रवाई कर सकती है।

जगजीतपुर की शांतिपुरम कॉलोनी में रिटायर्ड रेलवे कर्मचारी श्याम लाल कुकरेजा और
उनके बेटे भरत कुकरेजा की धारदार हथियारों से हत्या की गई है। घर में अकेले रहने
वाले बाप- बेटे के शव करीब तीन दिन बाद घर से दुर्गंध उठने पर बरामद हुए। भरत का
उसकी पत्नी से विवाद चल रहा था। इस बात की जानकारी रिश्तेदारों और परिचितों को
भली भांति है। उसके पिता अपने भाइयों व अन्य रिश्तेदारों से दूरी बनाकर रखते थे,
यह जानकारी आसपास के लोगों ने भी पुलिस को दी। लेकिन घर में किन किन लोगों का आना
जाना था और बुधवार शाम घर में कौन आया। यह जानकारी पड़ोसियों से भी पुलिस को नहीं
मिल पा रही है। जबकि पुलिस को शक है कि आस पास के कुछ परिवार ऐसी कई जानकारियां
रखते हैं, जिनका ताल्लुक बाप- बेटे की हत्या से हो सकता है। पुलिस बारी- बारी से
पड़ोसियों से पूछताछ कर चुकी है। पुलिस को लगा रहा है कि पड़ोसी केस के चक्कर में
पड़ने से खुद को बचाना चाह रहे हैं।

जांच से जुड़े एक वरिष्ठ अधिकारी ने बताया कि आस पास के लोगों का पूरा सहयोग नहीं
मिल पा रहा है। यदि पता चलता है कि आस पड़ोस के लोगों या परिचितों ने साक्ष्य
छिपाएं हैं तो उनके खिलाफ भी कानूनी कार्रवाई की जाएगी। वहीं एसओ कनखल अनुज ¨सह
ने बताया कि हत्या में रिश्तेदारों से लेकर दोस्त व पड़ोसी सब शक के दायरे में
हैं।

Puri: The accused involved in the rape and murder of a woman in Delanga and
serial killer Buddhadeb Behera was produced in the JMFC Court at Pipili on
Thursday.

But as no lawyer agreed to defend Behera, the court sent him to judicial custody
for 14 days.

Police said the deceased woman, who was raped and killed by Behera, was
identified as Anita (27), wife of Padmalochan Nayak, of Dibari Colony at Kajuri
under the Raikia police station in Kandhamal district.

During the course of investigation, it was found that the ATM card, SBI green
card and mobile phone found on the crime scene belonged to one Sunil Kumar
Mahto, whose bag containing all these items was stolen from the Vijayawada
railway station on July 15 by Behera.

The police said Behera had fled from a hospital in Deogarh while being in police
custody on July 3, 2012.

From that time he was on the most wanted list of Deogarh police. He was arrested
in the murder case of a woman Kalpana Ekka.

Delang rape, murder accused held

BHUBANESWAR: Puri Police on Wednesday arrested a serial killer for the rape and
murder of a 27-year-old woman in Delanga area on the intervening night of August
1 and 2.The accused Budhadev Behera, a native of Deogarh, is charged with five
cases of murder in Odisha as well as Andhra Pradesh. He had tried to mislead the
cops by placing stolen documents of a person near the murder scene at
Delanga.

So far, eight criminal cases have been registered against Budhadev of which five

This is for the second time that the 31-year-old has landed in police net. He
had managed to evade police net for the past five years after escaping from a
hospital in Deogarh in 2012. He was arrested in connection with a murder by
Deogarh Police but later during treatment, he fled and could not be arrested.

His last murder in Delanga, where he raped and slit the throat of the victim
proved his undoing. The victim, survived by her two children, was separated from
her husband. She was staying in Andhra Pradesh and was working as a labourer.
Behera, who was working as a labour agent, had befriended the woman in Andhra
around three months back and was regularly in touch with her.

Puri SP Sarthak Sarangi said, Behera had visited the house of the victim, a
native of Kandhamal district, on July 31 night. On August 1, the woman had
accompanied him for some work to Jatni. The duo had boarded a bus from Raikia to
Berhampur and from there they travelled in a train to Jatni. On the pretext of
visiting his father-in-law’s house in Ankoi, he brought the woman to the spot in
an auto-rickshaw. On the way, he offered her spiked drinks following which the
woman became unconscious. He raped her in a forested patch and killed her. He
then boarded a passenger train from Motari railway station in the wee hours of
August 2.

From the spot, police had found two ATM cards which Behera had stolen from Sunil
Kumar Mahto at Vijaywada railway station on July 15. Interestingly, he had
returned to Puri and carried out a burglary under Seabeach Police Station before
being nabbed.

After escaping from Deogarh, Behera had fled to Andhra Pradesh where he worked
in a cement factory for three years. Later, he acted as a labour contractor and
used to take people to the neighbouring State. It is during this period that he
is believed to have befriended some of his victims.

Record of a serial killer

Budhadev Behera, a native of Deogarh, is charged with five cases of murder in
Odisha as well as Andhra Pradesh.

Police have claimed to have solved a murder case by arresting a man who had
allegedly killed the manager of a private firm and had written a fictitious
name on the wall of the company's office to mislead the investigation.

Last month, Ashok Gupta, 55, was found stabbed to death at the office of the
company and over Rs. 10 lakh was looted from a locker in the building. The
word 'Vikas' was found written in Hindi with blood on a wall to confuse the
police, said Senior Superintendent of Police RK Bhardwaj on Tuesday.

"We had this suspicion that someone from the firm had committed the crime. We
asked all the employees to give a detailed information about themselves in
their own handwriting and also mention their mobile numbers," the officer
said. Gautam Kumar Gaur, 24, the company's auto driver, too gave details about
himself in his own handwriting and had mentioned a wrong mobile number, Mr
Bhardwaj said.

"The writing on the wall matched with that of Gaur. His footprint too matched
with that collected from the room on the day of the incident," the SSP said,
adding the Police looted cash was recovered from the accused's house.

The accused had made detailed plans to kill the manager and not to leave any
evidence he used hand gloves to take away the CCTV DVR. He had even made the
CCTV dysfunctional before looting the cash. After the incident the auto driver
calmly carried on with his job, he said.

According to Mr Bhardwaj, the accused, who had already served a jail term for
looting a shop in Nadesar in 2015, tried to implicate some of his friends who
were jailed with him that time by saying that two to three other persons were
also involved in the killing.

But raiding the houses of the people named by Gaur, it was found that they
were still in jail. Gaur has been arrested, the SSP said.

BHOPAL: Kidnapping of CID cop’s son, which prima facie seemed a family
‘drama’, came out to be a misdeed of a big inter-state girl trafficking
network by evening when the accused were arrested.

The police arrested all the 14 traffickers, including four women, involved in
kidnapping the 20-year-old son of a police constable (CID) in brought daylight
from his residence at Shivaji Nagar under Habibganj police station on
Thursday. All the traffickers belong to red light areas of Gwalior, Nagpur and
Rajasthan.

Vipin Pandey, a taxi driver of Chhindwara, used to visit Nagpur red light area
Ganga-Jamuna. He developed friendship, which developed into an affair. Both
planned marriage when Gudiya (name changed) told her past story and they fled
from the red light area. As per her story, Gudiya’s parents died two years
back when she was just 15.

Her uncle (mama) Raja alias Thela sold her to other uncle (mausa) Pan Singh of
Badnampur who ran a brothel in Gwalior, for Rs 9 lakh. Pan Singh sold her to a
Nagpur brothel for Rs 15 lakh.

Pimps at Ganga-Jamuna swung into action and finally traced her location. They
came to Bhopal to take her back to their den in Nagpur. When they did not find
her, they kidnapped CID’s son Gaurav Sharma alias Rupal in the noon.

Police sounded alert in all the nearby districts. Eventually Pan Singh, Ram,
Rahul, Chain Singh, Harish, Mohd Sadiq, Vichram, Jagan Singh, Kanija, Asha,
Pravin, Mausmi, Harsh and Mangal were arrested.

As per the police, Rupal alias Gaurav Sharma, 20, son of Prakash Sharma posted
at PHQ, was kidnapped from Shivaji Nagar in a Tavera (RJ-68-UA-2195)
registered with Rajasthan and a Scorpio registered at Gwalior (MP-07-CE-1852)
was also a part of the troupe.

Prakash Sharma told the police, “Rupal’s cousin Vipin had affair with Gudiya.
Both Vipin and Gudiya were at his Shivaji Nagar residence the whole day. Vipin
lives in a rented house in Bhopal. Kidnappers repeatedly asked about Vipin.
But Rupal’s mother Savita Sharma said take my son instead of Vipin.”

The kidnappers entered the house and misbehaved with family members of Sharma
and took Rupal with them. Rupal’s mother sustained head injuries following the
scuffle and was admitted to JP Hospital. Habibganj police were informed.
Immediately Gudiya and Vipin also visited Habibganj police station.

The police alerted all the police stations. When the kidnappers saw police
team, they dumped Rupal and tried to flee. Rupal was taken into police custody
and four kidnappers were arrested.

DIG Raman Sikarwar, while interacting with media persons said, “It was an
inter-state gang of women traffickers who had come to Bhopal to take the girl
back to Nagpur-based red light area Ganga-Jamuna. When they did not find the
girl, they kidnapped Rupal instead. The police succeeded in nabbing all the 14
involved in the kidnapping.”

मुंबई [मिड-डे]। सिनेमा प्रेरक हो सकता है। लेकिन यह उस व्यक्ति पर निर्भर करता है कि वह प्रेरणा को किस रूप में लेता है। चारकोप पुलिस ने रविवार को नकली आयकर अधिकारी बनकर अपने चाचा को चूना लगाने वाले एक आठ सदस्यीय गिरोह को गिरफ्तार किया है।

पुलिस ने बताया कि गिरोह के मास्टरमाइंड ने पिछले महीने टीवी पर फिल्म 'स्पेशल 26' देखकर अपने चाचा को शिकार बनाने का पड्यंत्र रचा। पीडि़त ने अपने एक दोस्त के यहां छिपाकर रखे गए 1.65 करोड़ रुपये, कीमती घडि़यां और ज्वैलरी नकली आयकर अधिकारियों के सुपुर्द कर दिया।

चारकोप पुलिस के अनुसार, मलाड के बिल्डर रामजीभाई शाह ने आयकर विभाग से छुपाकर अपने दोस्त जयंती भाई सरवैया यहां नकदी, ज्वैलरी व अन्य कीमती सामान छुपाकर रखे थे। उन्होंने कहा कि आयकर विभाग ने तीन महीने पहले शाह के घर पर छापा मारकर नकदी और अन्य कीमती सामान जब्त किए थे। पुलिस ने दावा किया कि मास्टरमाइंड व सरवैया के भतीजे जगदीश मेवाडा की गिरफ्तारी के बाद गिरोह का पर्दाफाश हुआ।

पुलिस ने कहा कि मेवाडा ने पिछले महीने टीवी पर पांच बार फिल्म 'स्पेशल 26' देखकर अपने चाचा को शिकार बनाने का पड्यंत्र रचा। इसके लिए उसने अपने पांच दोस्तों को तैयार किया और दो जून को सुबह साढ़े सात बजे चाचा के घर पर छापेमारी की। पांच आरोपी घर में दाखिल हुए और दो बाहर गेट पर खड़े रहे। ये सभी वहां करीब एक घंटे तक रुके और नकदी और कीमती सामान लेकर चलते बने।

उन्हाेंने सरवैया से कहा कि वे सामान वर्ली स्थित आयकर विभाग के प्रधान कार्यालय लेकर जा रहे हैं। वे वहां रिपोर्ट करें। लेकिन सरवैया को शक हुआ तो उन्होंने चारकोप पुलिस से संपर्क किया और शिकायत दर्ज कराई। जांच के बाद पुलिस ने शक के आधार पर मेवाडा को हिरासत में लेकर पूछताछ की। तब उसने सारा राज उगल दिया।

Mumbai: Movies can be inspiring. But it depends on what kind of inspiration a person wants to draw from them. Officials from Charkop police station on Sunday nabbed a gang of eight for deceiving one of their uncles by posing as Income Tax (I-T) officials.

Cops say the plot was hatched after the mastermind watched Bollywood movie Special 26 on television last month and decided to scam his uncle. The accused fooled the victim into giving them ₹ 1.65 crore, expensive watches and jewellery that was hidden at his residence by one of his friends to keep it out of reach of genuine I-T officials.

The police said Malad-based builder Ramjibhai Shah had stashed the cash and valuables at his friend Jayantibhai Sarvaiya's residence at sector 8 in Charkop, to prevent I-T officials from confiscating it.

They said I-T officials had raided Shah's residence three months ago and seized cash and other valuables. A police official, requesting anonymity, claimed that the gang was busted after the arrest of Jagdish Mewada - Sarvaiya's nephew and the mastermind.

He said Mewada hatched the plot after watching the movie at his Dharavi residence last month. The official said Mewada trained five of his friends to act as I-T officials by making them watch Special 26 at least five times. He said the accused prepared themselves at a rented apartment in Govandi.

Raid day

As per the plan, Mewada's friends raided Sarvaiya's residence on June 2 at 7.30 am. They arrived at his residence in a car they had hired from Govandi, the official said. While five of them entered Sarvaiya's residence posing as I-T officials, Mewada and two others kept vigil outside the house.

The impostors who entered the house collected the cash and valuables within an hour and took Sarvaiya along before leaving his residence. One of them told Sarvaiya that they were taking him to the I-T department headquarters in Worli.

However, the gang halted on the Western Express Highway (WEH) at Goregaon on the pretext of taking a tea break and asked Sarvaiya to directly report at the headquarters. Realising that something was amiss, Sarvaiya later approached the Charkop police and lodged a complaint against the five accused.

Cop speak

API Rao Rane from Charkop police station said, "After this scam, Mewada kept calling Sarvaiya and asked for money. He was addicted to playing lottery and had gone broke. This raised our suspicion and we took Mewada into custody. During interrogation he confessed to the crime and revealed the identity of his friends.

He even disclosed that it was one of his relatives who informed him about the cash and valuables at his uncle's residence. While we have arrested Mewada and his friends, a manhunt has been launched to nab the insider who tipped him."

The other seven accused were identified as Paresh Goswami (35), Bharat Wegda (30), Kadar Sheikh (32), Pankaj Chavan (34), Firoz Sheikh (30), Balkrishna (35) and Yunis Sheikh, all residents of Dharavi. Cops said Kadar had earlier been arrested for his involvement in stealing cellphones.

All the eight accused were booked under Sections 395, 451, 170, 342 and 120 (b). They were produced in the court yesterday and have been remanded in police custody till June 20.

Bhule Chauhan (70) and his wife Rani Chauhan (55) were found murdered in their
three-storey house in Noida Sector-44, where they lived alone on Saturday
morning, police said.

The incident reportedly came to the light around 8:30 am when a local priest
reached their house to invite the duo in a religious programme organised at a
nearby temple.

After finding their bodies under semi-decomposed condition, the priest informed
the local police immediately that reached the spot and took away bodies for
autopsy after breaking the door locked from inside.

A senior police official said the couples owned properties worth crores,
including three houses and valuable lands in posh sectors of Noida. Police
suspect that they might have been killed by some known person over alleged
undertaking of their properties.

Superintendent of police, Noida, Dinesh Yadav said the couples were attacked by
blunt objects on their head and police are investigating the case from all
angles.

Also, Inspector General (Meerut Range) Ajay Aanad, along with senior police
officials, inspected the spot.

The deceased had a 21-year-old son Gaurav Chauhan who died five years ago under
mysterious circumstances, police said.

After the death of his first wife, Bhule had married another woman, said police,
adding that he had a daughter with his first wife who got married with one
Krishna of Shapur village but they were not in contact from a long time.

Police said Bhule had two elder brothers who died a few years ago. There is no
legal heir of their property and they lived on the rent collected from their
properties, said police. Sources said the murder was committed over a matter of
property overtake.

"Both of them were seen by the locals last time on Friday around 10 am. We
suspected that they were killed on the same day. There was also a friendly entry
into the house. The valuables were not ransacked which denies robbery bids,”
said some local residents.

"We are questioning a shopkeeper to ascertain the identity of the people who
were friendly with the couple. Also, we are questioning their relatives to find
out their involvement in this case," the SP said.

An FIR was registered against unknown persons under section 302(murder) of the
IPC in sector 39 Police Station.

सेक्टर-39 कोतवाली क्षेत्र के छलेरा गांव में एक बुजुर्ग दंपति के सिर पर चोट मारकर
हत्या कर दी। घटना शुक्रवार की है और पता शनिवार को चला। घटना की सूचना मिलने पर
सेक्टर-39 पुलिस मौके पर पहुंची और घटनास्थल का मुआयना करने आईजी आनंद कुमार भी
पहुंचे। दंपति की बेटी की ओर से अज्ञात हत्यारे के खिलाफ मामला दर्ज कराया है।
पुलिस हत्या के पीछे संपत्ति को मान रही है हालांकि अभी कोई साक्ष्य पुलिस के हाथ
नहीं लगा है। मगर हत्या का संदेह किसी परिचित पर है और मोबाइल आदि से जांच पड़ताल
की जा रही है।

जानकारी के मुताबिक सेक्टर-39 कोतवाली क्षेत्र के छलेरा गांव निवासी भूले चौहान(72)
अपनी पत्नी रानी चौहान (55) के साथ रहते थे। उनकी यह दूसरी शादी थी। पहली पत्नी
सुक्खो देवी ने ही वारिश की चाह में अपने पति की दूसरी शादी रानी से कराई थी। चूंकि
सुक्खो और भूले को केवल एक बेटी थी और वह शाहपुर गोवर्धनपुर गांव में अपने पति के
साथ रहती हैं। दूसरी शादी के बाद भूले को एक बेटा गौरव हुआ था मगर उसकी बीमारी से
मौत हो गई थी।

उसके बाद से भूले और रानी अपने घर पर ही समय बिता रहे थे। इनके बाद करोड़ों रुपये
की संपत्ति है और हर माह लाखों रुपये किराया आता है। पुलिस ने बताया कि दंपति अपने
घर के ग्राउंड फ्लोर पर रहते थे और फर्स्ट फ्लोर पर रसोई बना रखी थी। शुक्रवार सुबह
11 बजे तक पड़ोसियों ने भूले और रानी को घूमते हुए देखा था, मगर इसके बाद वह घर से
बाहर नहीं आए। शनिवार को जब वह तय समय पर मंदिर की आरती में शामिल नहीं हुए तो
पंडित राम और भूले के भाई का पोता सचिन दोनों उनके घर आए तो वहां पहुंचने पर बदबू आ
रही थी।

उन्होंने कमरे के बाहर दरवाजे पर ताला लगा देखा तो उन्हें कुछ संदेह हुआ। कमरे में
झांककर देखा तो दोनों के शव पडे़ थे। सचिन और राम ने पुलिस को सूचना दी। पुलिस मौके
पर पहुंची और दोनों के शवों की जांच पड़ताल की तो देखा कि दंपति के सिर में गंभीर
चोट है। जिससे उनकी हत्या हुई है। साथ ही गला दबाने का भी प्रयास हुआ है। दोनों
शवों को पोस्टमार्टम के लिए भेज दिया है।

कुछ सवाल जिनके पुलिस को तलाशने हैं जवाब: भूले चौहान के घर में एक कुत्ता था जो
किसी भी बाहरी व्यक्ति को प्रवेश नहीं करने देता था। वह कई लोगों को काट भी चुका
था। यदि शनिवार को कुत्ता भौंका नहीं तो कोई परिचित ही व्यक्ति घर में आया था। आखिर
वह कौन था।

इसके अलावा भूले चौहान और उनकी पत्नी घर की ग्राउंड फ्लोर पर रहते थे तो हत्या के
समय रसोई में गए थे। आखिर वह कौन था जिसके लिए चाय बनाई थी। कहीं ऐसा तो नहीं कि
हत्यारे ने पहले कुत्ते को कुछ नशीला पदार्थ खिलाया हो।

चूंकि कुत्ता शनिवार को भी अस्वस्थ्य था और भौंक भी नहीं पा रहा था। यदि दंपति की
हत्या हुई तो इसका सबसे अधिक लाभ किसे है। ऐसा तो नहीं कि किसी रिश्तेदार ने कोई
वसीयत बनवाई हो और इसी के चलते दोनों को रास्ते से हटाया हो।

पुलिस का कहना है कि भूले का अपनी बेटी से करीब 6 साल से विवाद चल रहा था और वह
अपने मायके भी नहीं आई थी। इसके पीछे गौरव की रहस्यमय मौत है।

भूले और रानी को लगता था कि गौरव की मौत के पीछे उनकी बेटी का हाथ है। जबकि उनकी
बेटी इस बात से इंकार कर रही है। पुलिस का दावा है कि यदि लुटेरे हत्या करते तो
जेवरात ले जाते लेकिन सब कुछ घर में ही मिला है।

बुजुर्ग दंपति की हत्या सिर पर चोट लगने के कारण हुई है और शवों को पोस्टमार्टम के
लिए भेज दिया गया है। पोस्टमार्टम में ही खुलासा हो सकेगा कि हत्या कैसे हुई है।
हालांकि हत्या के पीछे प्राथमिक कारण संपति प्रतीत हो रही है। चूंकि उनके पास काफी
संपत्ति है और हत्या का संदेह भी किसी परिचित पर ही हो रहा है। जांच की जा रही है
