New Year, New Hive

After numerous delays from the supplier, our new hive of bees have arrived. They have a brand new hive to begin in. This year, we’re trying out the Langstroth bee hive, since it seems like the most successful style, and we just ran into complications with the other style. Since we’re getting a late start, not sure how productive they’ll be in terms of harvest-able honey, but atleast we’ll have a good foundation for next Spring.

Florescent Lights & Headaches Migraines

The headaches, or occassional migraine that I get, I feel has too come from the florescent lights in my office at work. I’m doing some research to see if there is any proof or studies that might suggest the same. The two possible remedies that I can think of would be to either disable some of the bulbs or replace them with LED replacements. Our lighting at home is nearly 100% LED now, and I can’t recall feeling the same type of headache there. I think I’d be worth a try anyways. It’s not that they are bad enough to keep me from working (only a true migraine is), but just enough to be annoying.

Recent Events – My Thoughts & Concerns

Boston Bombing

Where does one even begin with this. It is horrific. People dying while trying to enjoy an event that was meant for pleasure. It’s a very sad event in Boston’s history. But, it is no reason to disregard the rule of law. It is no reason to push the Bill of Rights to the side. It is no reason to do what we as a nation have become so good at doing-acting out of emotion and fear.

Unfortunately the disregard to the Constitution extends even into my own extended family. One member is calling for the quick and speedy public execution of the man they recently caught, suspected of being involved in the bombing. To which I have responded:

Let us not forget our Constitution and our Bill of Rights, and their intent. America, especially in the last decade or so, has been very quick to act out of emotion. With that, we’ve scrapped a good bit of the Bill of Rights in the process. Pretty soon, we all will not be guaranteed those rights that our founders fought and risked it all for. You may never need the opportunity to exercise those rights, but if you ever do, and they are gone, God help you.

This turned out to be a perfect time to try out Martial Law and see what the citizens of Boston thought about it. Turns out, they and most of America didn’t even notice. Yep, Americans are so caught up in their cell phones and TV shows that they don’t even care..

Do you not understand what is occurring today? Do you not understand that when you bend and manipulate laws to put away one person, they could just as easily be turned against yourself?

Senator Lindsay Graham has said, “the homeland is the battlefield.” Are you ready to be the enemy? Neither am I because Lindsay is 100% dead wrong, the homeland is NOT a battlefield.

Question what you’re told. This is especially important since we have officials that tell us in black and white that events like this are used against us.

You never let a serious crisis go to waste. And what I mean by that it’s an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before.

Here’s another good one. Let’s just pass a bill that kills the 4th amendment. We’re not happy enough with destroying the ones that have already been assassinated and killing the 2nd amendment seems to be on hold right now, so let’s take out the 4th. That’s exactly what my Congressman, Congressman Tom Graves voted to do. And sadly I expect my Senators to do the exact same. I mean why not, they’ve made a career out of trashing the Constitution.

WWE’s Propaganda

My Dad has watched, or half-watched, wrestling my entire life. If there’s nothing coming on that we like to watch, the TV almost instantaneously gets turned to wrestling, which surprisingly comes on nearly every day of the week now. It’s entertainment, that’s all really. But the establishment has wasted no time putting their claws into it to take advantage of the millions of people that watch it world-wide to demonize and make fun of a movement that is more serious and real than WWE will ever be. The liberty movement isn’t just a fad, it’s a movement that is determined and isn’t going away. So shame on you WWE! Stick to what you know, and that’s how to make billions off of a fake sport. Stay out of politics, and leave that to those that know the Constitution and want to fight to restore our liberties that have been eroded over the years.

Today’s Krystal Excitement

I never expected to see a couple of arrests, an escape, and what seemed like shady exchange happen, all while having a quick lunch at the Krystal in town.

We get window seats like we always do, and shortly after our food is brought to us, a maroon Cadillac decides at the very last second that they want Krystal for lunch too. They bust a u-turn and come in the exit and nearly hit a car that just pulled away from the drive-thru window. One guy gets out of the car and comes into Krystal to order his lunch, while an unmarked police car pulls in to see about the Cadillac. There are two women in the back of the car. While the police officers, all 6 of them, stand around and figure out the situation and what to do with the people in the car, the guy that came inside is telling another customer that he has no desire to go outside and get in the middle of a situation that doesn’t involve him. He gets his food and leaves out the side door away from the situation.

The police find an open container in the vehicle, give the driver several sobriety tests, arrest him, and arrests one of the women. The remaining woman comes over to the Krystal to try to bum a ride. Here’s the part I can’t quite figure out. The guy that was being told inside the Krystal by the passenger that bolted, walked outside and ratted on him. He then leaves an walks into town. The police officer puts the now empty, but still open container inside of the Cadillac. The man that just walked away came back, was given the keys from the police officer, and then drives off in the Cadillac that belonged to a group of people that he had never seen before.

Why did the police give him the keys? Why did they let him drive off in the car when it had an open container in it? I’m scratching my head on that one.

So during lunch I saw the arrest of 2 people, escape of one, possible backroom deal or theft of a car in plain sight. Wow.

Question For Knowledge

Asking questions does not and should not give someone a right to say or put into question your stance or belief on any particular topic. Asking why, how, who, or whatever the question may be, only shows that you thirst for expanding your knowledge rather than accepting empty “just because[es].” Just because is a poor answer for most anything. That allows people to regurgitate what they have been told without passing on any real truths. It allows the answers to be skewed. It allows the answers to truly become perverted.

It’s Either/Or!

We have people at work that get disgruntled because it’s been a few years since we’ve had a cost of living pay increase, or a Christmas bonus for that matter. Yet when an opportunity comes to try to conserve some money, they kick those opportunities to the sidelines and still want to complain about the lack of pay increase. I’m sorry, but when you pass on an opportunity to get nearly the same performance upgrade for $60 bucks, but would rather have a nice shiny new PC for $600, you just spent your pay increase. Mine too for that matter. When you whine about the color of an old yet perfectly usable file cabinet, and order yourself a new one, there went some more opportunity for a pay increase as well. Mine too for that matter. It’s either/or! That kind of waste irks me. Why not try to conserve? Why not spend someone else’s money as consciously (inside joke, but in some cases for some people not even this!!!) as you would your own?

2 Migraines, 1 Week

I just had my 2nd migraine in less than 1 week. One is bad enough, but 2 without a good few-month gap in between is brutal.

History Channel’s The Bible

We watched the first night of History Channel’s The Bible last night and without a doubt will be watching the rest of it as it airs. It’s amazing some of the events that we may not remember as well as we once did. For me personally, this is right up my alley, because I love seeing things put together in chronological order. The only major change I would have done so far is not to have been so brief with the time from the beginning up to the flood.
