I had photographed many weddings in Italy over the last 15 or more years. But for some reason, I had never made it to Venice.  I like to think that I was saving the best until last.  A year prior to shooting this wedding, I had, by some stroke of luck, accidentally landed up in Venice for four days. It was nearing the end of covid, and international travel was still difficult. I had been shooting a wedding in Corfu, Greece, followed by a wedding in Umbria, Tuscany and was due to head back to London, where I am usually based for the summer. I had rather loose travel arrangements, and I hadn’t yet booked my flight from Italy to London. Well, as it turned out, there were no flights available back to London for the next four days. So I decided to catch a train from Rome to Venice to “kill time”.  This turned out to be the best inconvenience of my life. Venice was better than any travel postcard I’d ever seen.  Nothing could have prepared me for such beauty.  This felt like I was in another life, in another world. I discovered Caffe Florian ~ the famous coffee shop built in the San Marco square in 1720.  And I spent ALL DAY in that coffee shop.  I loved being in that coffee shop.  I imagined how wonderful it would be to shoot a bride in this coffee shop.  Less than 8 months later, I was back in that coffee shooting a beautiful bride ~  Maybe Corpaci and her new husband Rodan Kane Hart. 

Both had lived and studied fine art in Venice and had decided to return here to marry.
