Eli and Blake went to see the Walking with Dinosaurs show at Conseco Fieldhouse last night with Matt and Daniel. Had a great time, Eli really enjoyed it, hardly got scared by any of it. You can see some other grainy video and pictures here if you want.

Zoo Trip

Eli and I took a trip to the Indianapolis Zoo last Friday. The zoo was packed, but we had great weather and a really good time. Eli fell in love with the Polar Bears and Walruses.

Family Visit

Had a great visit this weekend with some of Shannon's family from Ohio. Eli had the chance to meet up with a lot of his second-cousins he's only seen once before.

Florida

Shannon, Eli and I all headed down to Indian Rocks Beach, Florida, to visit with her dad and his wife, Marnie. We had a great time, visited my brother and his family, went to a concert, hit the zoo, and all sorts of stuff. Even though the weather wasn't super-warm, we're sad to go back to the real cold weather for sure.

While down at the lake this weekend we took a day trip to Brown County State Park for a hike and to check out the changing leaves. It was a great day for a hike, nice weather. You can check out some photos here.

Kings Island

Shannon and I went to Kings Island this weekend with Matt, Karen, Randie and Traves. We realized we're a bit old and that roller coasters make you sore, and that there's a lot of good people-watching to do there. We did have a great time though.

Not a whole lot going on around here in the Facey household. Summer is coming to an end and things are slowing down at the lake. We've almost finished up our kitchen remodel; all we have to finish up is buying the cabinet hardware and new appliances some day. Next room up... the bathroom. Fun!

The cabinet doors are back on now, but the picture's an idea of what all we have done: new countertops, painted the cabinets, new floor and painted the walls.

Ribfest 2008

We held our annual Ribfest down at the lake again this year for Labor Day weekend. It was a big success and it grew even more this year. We had 7 different ribs, 8 side dishes, and 9 deserts all going for a title. Next year we'll probably have to change up the judging format some because people can't eat all that food. Shannon, Eli and I didn't win anything this year, but we had a great time. We're looking forward to next year already.
