I met up with Gabby, her husband, and her parent last year. This year it was his parents' turn. They were in town for the weekend, so we couldn't reschedule, and there was a chance of rain that afternoon. So of course it rained! Luckily, we dodged it long enough for our session!

I can't believe how quickly spring has appeared. The flowers are blooming, the trees are budding, and the weather is already warm. I'm hoping it's here to stay. If you have a session coming up, you are probably digging through your closets or better yet... planning a shopping trip. Porter is a rockstar baby. Really. This is my second time photographing him, and he has been awesome both times. I hope I'm not jinxing myself for his 1 year session, but I had to brag on him. Between him, his parents, and his adorable brother, I don't feel like I'm working at all.

I know I've been missing for the past week or so. We just returned home from a family vacation to Disney World! Now I've come home to another week of spring break, so there isn't much work getting done around here. While I'm trying to catch up, I thought I'd share a few before and afters from Sidney's session from a few weeks ago. At one time, I was petrified to share a straight out of camera (SOOC) shot, but now I love it. My goal is to get a well exposed shot initially, so that I can spend my editing time making an image pop rather than "fixing" it.

It's here! It's here! It may not feel like it everyday, but spring is here! As soon as I start seeing flowers blooming, I'm a happy girl. Add in a sweet birthday girl, and I'm over the moon. Miss Audrey was such a good girl for our session. As soon as the sun started to set, it got windy and chilly and she called an end to the session, but no before I got these precious images.

Walker's 3 Year Old Session | Hendersonville TN Child Photographer

So... Mr. Walker had way more things in mind to do at the park other than taking pictures. He wanted to check out the trains, run and play, and basically avoid anything having to do with the camera. He had soooo much to say and made me laugh a gazillion times. I have to admit though, I questioned how successful this session would be (for a teeny, tiny second, I promise!) Then, I don't know how I did it, but I snuck off with that little guy and worked some kind of magic! After that, he was all smiles and giggles. I am loving this session from the colors to the perfectly coordinated outfits, everything turned out great. It didn't quite feel like spring that day, but it sure looks like it!

Mom brought along pinwheels from W's 3rd birthday party. They were so cute, and I'm so glad that she thought to include them in our session!

Meet Miss M, my newest First Moments baby. We're getting started a little late with her package, because fall was so busy. But I am so excited to watch her grow! We've been rescheduling for about a month because of the cold, and I am so glad we waited. The day of her session was absolutely perfect, and she was an angel!

I met Anna and her husband downtown on a beautiful February afternoon. She was glowing and looking gorgeous. Can you believe that she is only 2 weeks away from her due date? She has the most perfect baby bump! These two were so sweet and so excited to meet their new baby girl. I can't wait to meet her either!

I know it isn't a secret, and I'm sure I say it all the time... but I LOVE sessions with little girls! It is my only chance to let out my girly side in a house with all boys. I've been working on the sneaks from Sydney's 4 year old session during nap time today, and I'm hoping my little guy sleeps all afternoon! I don't think I'm going to be able to tear myself away from this session. Sydney was in the cutest outfit and was a joy to photograph. After several times rescheduling due to cold temps, we lucked out with a gorgeous morning. Happy Birthday sweet girl!

The Murdocks and I have really bad luck with sessions and rain. We've had to reschedule 2 sessions because of rain, and this session even had rain in the forecast. Luckily, it held off and was rather warm for February. I'm so glad we had to wait a few weeks, because it gave Miss K time to learn how to do this...

These baby girls lately are giving me a major case of baby fever. Oh and, this sweet girl has 2 older brothers. Another family with proof that you CAN have a girl after 2 boys! I got my Valentine's Day gift idea for my husband this year on a snow day. Both of my boys were home from school, it was cold outside, and I was thinking of something to do.

Soooo, what better way to spend an afternoon that take pictures?

My original idea was to take a picture of them in daddy's tie. But after watching several YouTube videos, I still couldn't get it tied right. So we moved on to daddy's shoes and a shirt. Here are my favorites:

So first of all, Pete wins major husband points for getting his wife a photo session for Valentine's Day. I mean, how awesome of a gift is that??? Second off, these 2 together are awesome. They were so much fun and so easy going. It was FREEZING, literally, the day of our session, and you would never know it. It's been a while since I've photographed just a couple and no kids, and I have to admit, it was sooo nice! I love kids, but I also love seeing people IN love, and I'm really glad that they trusted me to document their love story.

Sweet Celia was about as cooperative as a 3.5 month old could be. She just smiled and cooed at us all morning. Not to mention those big bright eyes, gorgeous eyelashes, and full head of hair. Oh, and she's a girl, so you know I was in heaven! Her mommy and I had a room full of goodies to choose from for her session. Here's a peek at just some of my favorites. Mommy goes back to work this week, and I'm hoping these will put a smile on her face in the morning :)

I've been so excited to meet back up with baby Turner, and I was even more excited when I discovered it would be 65 degrees the day of our session. The thing that I forget is that a 6 month old baby outside for the first time is way more mesmerized by dirt, leaves, and grass than by me. So he was in a very serious mood for much of our session, but that made those few little smiles even more special.

Some of my favorite images where from Mom making him smile in between locations.

Big sister, C, was a HUGE help as always, but it was all over when we went into the grass and leaves. No amount of singing, dancing, tickling, or toy would get that boy to look at us. I think Mom has a summer of playing outside in the dirt ahead of her!

This sweet boy is as giggly and happy as can be. He had me cracking up at our session with his precious squeals. I LOVE photographing 6 month olds. It's the best age ever. Jake was one of my last First Moments babies in Memphis, and I'm so glad I got to meet up with him and his parents for his 18 month session. He lucked out with some nice warm weather. We played ball and watched choo choo trains, which I think would make any 18 month old boy happy!

I look forward to my sessions with this family so much. I'm sure I've said it before, but they really are the sweetest family ever. I didn't share this story last time, because our last session was at my mini sessions. But... Dad said the funniest thing when he saw me photographing the other kiddos. He said, "She talks to everyone like that? I thought she only talked to us like that." Yep, I admit, I may squeal and get a little high pitched during a photo session :) That's just me having fun though! Anyway, back to Little Man T. He has grown so much in his first year. He was walking for us this time. I love those little cautious steps, when his hands stay in the air just in case. And those eyelashes, oh, I love them!

I am so glad that my dates worked out to photograph Miss M's 1 year session. We ended up staying inside because it was so cold out, and I'm really glad we did. Her little outfits matched her home perfectly. And... I got to see my photographs on their walls! I don't get to go to my clients' homes too often, but when I do I sure do love seeing their pictures hanging!
