Today is Sunday, the 19th ordinary day in Roman Catholic Time 1 Kings 19:9, 11-13. The Gospel tells us today that anytime the Lord allowed us to changed our life for good.

I woke up at around some minutes before 5:00AM hits this morning. I decided to catch up the remaining darkness by going back to sleep because it's off day, no need to prepare myself for office work when it came to my mind and remember that it's Sunday and it's time to attend mass again online in 1ph Channel presided by Bishop Pabillo.

Attending mass every Sunday has been practiced by me since the COVID-19 pandemic has hit the country and completely changed our lives even the way we worshiped, the way we talked and the way we roam. In this gospel it stressed the way apostle Pedro did when he asked Jesus Christ to met Him out the boat walking up above the water as the way Jesus Christ was doing and with all the emotions that apostle Pedro that time, he was already following the direction to met Jesus Christ when suddenly Pedro has felt fear and beyond to Pedro's control, he suddenly sank foot by foot which no choice but asked help to the Lord. Then and there the Lord put off his fear by helping him and let him settled up the water walking with Him.

God is for us, who can ever be against us?

After Attending the mass online I made some reflection when suddenly someone has called from the outside "Buddy . . . Buddy"!!!!!! Someone was calling my husband. The name "Buddy" is an address to anyone my husband's comrade in his military service. I went out and Ah!!! one of my husband's comrade in his Scout Ranger Group met my eyes with fresh veges handed to me . . . one bunch is for us and the other is for my office mate, his friend too. . . .

Thank you Lord for the very early visit but what can I offer too . . . to my neighbors and to the needy, especially in this time of pandemic covid-19?

Recommendations

Having identified the effects of tee-age pregnancy on the educational development of students and out-of-school , the following recommendations are put forward.

1. Strengthen the collaboration between parents and school to guide the teenagers parents and school to guide the teenagers the dangers of indulging in pre-marital sex especially that they are still studying. Likewise it is recommended that during PTC/PTA Meetings , the parents must be informed to closely monitored their children.

2. The School Administration should strengthen its homeroom and guidance program, so that teenagers will be given information and counseling regarding boy-girl relationship.

3. The teachers, especially class advisers must act as the second parents to teenagers especially those in need of parental guidance.

4. Involve the community in giving teenagers good models of values and character. Local officials should pass ordinances to prohibit teenagers from taking alcoholic drinks, cigarettes and the dangers of drugs.

5. The school curricula must not only integrate values in all subject areas but also information about the reproductive organs.

6. Education programs should be designed to address pressing and urgent concerns regarding teen-age pregnancy and collaborate with other agencies like DSWD and Health Care Units to help teenagers avoid premarital sex and live a healthy life style.

7. Local communities should provide recreational programs and facilities to give teenagers gainful and wholesome activities.

.This chapter presents the summary of findings, the conclusion drawn, and the recommendations offered.

Summary

This study attempted to answer the question related to the effect of teenage pregnancy on educational development of students and out-of-school youth in Maramag, Bukidnon. Firstly, this study endeavored to identify perception of the respondents on the causes of teenage pregnancy in terms of the following factors: the family, with a mean of 4.13, the respondents agreed that their parents are not open about the use of contraceptives at home; the levels of educational attainment of parents is low and the income is not enough to support the family. The respondents also agreed that parents don’t talk about consequences of plan or unplanned indulgence of sex. Secondly, this study attempted to find out the causes of teenage pregnancy as perceived by the respondents in terms of community factor. The findings showed that the respondents agreed to all indicators stated in the questionnaire.

A self-made questionnaire was employed to gather data of the study. Average Weighted Mean was used to find out the extent of teenage pregnancy among the respondents. T-test was also used to test the significant difference of the extent of the educational development when respondents were grouped according to age, educational attainment, type of school attended and the socio economic status of the family. Step-wise regression analysis was used to analyze which among the causes of teen-age pregnancy greatly affect the respondent’s educational development.

The Titay Local Shelter Plan is formulated to address the shelter needs of household that have displaced units in the municipality. This plan provides information on the analysis of the present local housing situation, the identification of housing problems, upgrading of structures if there were to be found, future housing needs, household’s affordability and local resources such as land, provision of basic services and finance. It also contains the main shelter strategies and a corresponding implementation plan which provides details of actions needed to realize the housing plan.

This paper formulates a ten year plan to respond the housing needs of the households having their units situated in a lot not of their own but belong to someone else or private individual and or by the government. It is expected also that this paper will enable the LGU to effectively implement its new mandates of local shelter plan.

This Local Shelter Plan is to give shelter strategy making a plan action which defines the objectives for the development of shelter conditions; identifies the resources available to meet the objectives and the means by which they can be used most cost- effectively. It also sets out the responsibilities and time frame for implementing this Local Shelter Plan.

Titay Local Shelter Plan – Chapter 2 Slopes / Hazard Areas

Chapter 1

Slopes

Land characterized as mountainous and strongly sloping is unevenly distributed in different barangays. Only Barangay Azusano and Dalangin Muslim are plain and flat. The mountainous areas are found in barangays of Kipit, San Isidro, New Canaan, Namnama and Tugop Muslim. Barangay Kipit has its peak of 893 meters above sea level. The rest of the land is moderately sloping and nearly gentle its nature.

It is shown on the map that 0-8% slope is level to undulating and so far it covers the largest portion of the area of the municipality and it is followed with 8-18% slope, undulating to rolling which has an area of 4,944.049 hectares. The least occupied slope is above 50% slope and considered as mountainous having an area of 2,318.179 hectare

2.1.5 Vulnerability to Multiple Hazards

Landslides and Flood

The plains of Azusano usually visited with floods almost every year and leaved damages every time there floods almost every year and leaved damages everytime the flood subsided.

The Office of the Agricuture ( See Annex 8 – Titay, Lowland Rice Damage, 2010) has recorded lowland rice crop damage of 5 Barangays and that were Namnama, Palomoc, Achasol and Azusano. There has a total of 400.12 hectares of land affected with flood which resulted to an estimate of 652.96 metric tons of rice loss in which amounted to P 31, 374,409.22. There are cases of landslides in some barangays like in the case of Palomoc but there has no damage recorded or loss of lives and propereties.

Municipality of Titay has hazard areas and that are landslides and flood. The most prone on land slides is found almost all the area of barangay San Isidro, portion of Longilog, San Antonio and Dalisay considering the 50% and up slope. There are also barangays prone to landslides and that are found in Palomoc, Culasian, Malagandis, Supit, Tugop Muslim and kipit. While barangay prone to flood are Bangco, Azusano, Dalangin, portion of Namnama, Poblacion, Achasol and Tugop. While Almost all parts of Dalangin are prone to flood.

The SW4 is prone to flood considering that the area is just like basin during heavy rain that catches all the excess water from surrounding uplands and water from 2 rivers that coming from the municipality of Kalawit that met somewhere in Barangay Namnama. These water from 2 rivers usually overflow and occupied some parts of plains and drainage is so limited and can’t accommodate all the water right away, instead, some barangays were flooded for several days enough to make damages on rice fields drained. The SW5 showed that it is prone on moderate to high susceptibility of landslide followed by SW1.

– On how denuded is the catchments area or forestland is also the ratio of its susceptibility to landslides and flood. It is found out also that there are 20 to 100 settlements or households presently residing at Tugop Muslim that is prone to Landslide.

– There are 100 to 300 settlements or households found at Barangay Azusano that is high susceptible to flood.

Presence of Hazard areas in terms of Epee Center & Faults

Titay has Epee

Center and that is somewhere between in Barangay San Isidro and San Antonio. It was recorded that this Epee center has experienced a ground shaking on March 1, 1964 at 12.54 PM/AM with a 7.3 magnitude.

Severe ground shaking usually starts from Epee Center. When the Epee center shakes, simultaneously the impact will be distributed gradually to the fault lines. Nearby barangays who have distinct faultlines will shake too that affected or the the whole municipality or even wider which depends upon the magnitude.

When global warming continues to intensify due to deforestation, there has a tendency that this Epee Center will be affected and will have again a ground shaking or earthquakes.

The above figures would help local government to evaluate what are the necessary moves when it comes to structures and infra projects for the development of the municipality and for the safety of the constituents.

The municipality of Titay has distinctive and visible fault lines. Barangay Kipit has 3 fault lines while Tugop Muslim has one faultline. Two fault lines parallel with each other having an average distance between them of 1,573.39 meters traversing Titay. One of the fault lines traversing Titay passes in Palomoc, Namnama, Poblacion, Dalangin Muslim, Dalangin, Acasol and down to San Antonio. While the other fault line that traversing across are Culasian, Malagandis, Dalangin, Poblacion Muslim, Mabini and again in San Antonio.
