Jess is hairstylist and make up artist.  She has a salon called Copper and Ivy in Rocklin along with her sweet partner and friend Raelyn.  Jess was super nervous for her photoshoot.  She wanted a classic look and when she came to the studio with her look.  I was very excited to get started. I knew she was going to knock it out of the park.  And, boy did she ever.

I was able to capture sexy boudoir photos that look like it came right out of the magazine.  She told me she was inspired by  Marilyn Monroe.

She brought with several outfits and each looked amazing.  The boudoir photos I captured of her were stunning.  As I coached her with different posing, she got comfortable right off the bat.

I’ve photographed family for a few years now.  I love seeing my clients family grow year after year.  We found this beautiful Sacramento park.  I was a little worried because it was in the middle of the day and super sunny.  So this shaded park was ideal for a family portrait session.  This family was so much fun to photograph. We put the two sisters together and mom and dad helped make them laugh.  Of course, as a photographer, I had to be ready to shoot at the right moment.  No “do-overs”.  I’m so happy to get these natural and authentic smiles from them.

I love it when families say how much fun they had.  I’m so happy to spend time with them and can’t wait for next time.

Even though she was a little nervous before our shoot (who wouldn’t), Dena was able to relax pretty quickly and we got some gorgeous shots.

We asked her husband Scott to come back after a couple of hours so I can pamper Dena with a make over and private boudoir session at my super beautiful photography studio in Roseville.

She brought different outfits and she looked amazing.  She allowed me to share this classy and alluring boudoir photo. And this is what she has allowed me to share.

After a few outfit changes, we asked Scott to join her for a photoshoot with both of them.

Since we had such an amazing shoot, I asked Dena to share a little bit about herself and of her thoughts about the portrait session and here is what she had to say:

“I am a wife of 31 years and mother of two grown boys.  I enjoy interior decorating with something I have upcycled to reflect my creative side.  I feel I have a Bohemian Spirit.  When I was first approached with the opportunity to be photographed by Sharon, I had a battle my internal dialogue, “What if I look like I am trying too hard to look young or beautiful?”  But Sharon put me at ease and soon I thought…who cares?  This is for me and my wonderful husband and I am only this age once!  No regrets! Celebrate you!  Thank you for the beautiful photos! and the empowerment to allow myself feel beautiful! “

Before our portrait session started, Joy showed me the collection of clothing that she wanted to wear to our session. I can tell that she’s the type of women who takes care of herself physically. She’s so beautiful.Her make up was perfect. She wanted a light and airy look and my studio was perfect for the look she wanted. Her husband and son were there for a family photo as well. They posed with mom with no problems at all. Her son was adorable.

Overall, we had a really wonderful time together and I know that they will make the best parents as apparent with their young son.

Oh, and if you’re wondering if they’re newborn baby will a boy or a girl, it’s in the photo.

Big brother Colin was so happy to have a younger sister, and he made that apparent at our shoot! Colin was so gentle with his little sister. One thing’s for certain – baby sister will always have someone looking out for him!

As you can see from the pictures below, these little ones were so good during the session, and already share such a connection. I can’t wait to see how they interact as they get older!

Mom and Dad were so happy how the photos turned out. I like the natural environment as they welcome their new addition to the word. Having photographs of the family in their own home will have lasting memories they will cherish forever.
