Over the past few days the temperature has really started to drop in NYC, and although the winter has been super mild so far, it already has me wanting to run screaming for sunshine. Below, a few essentials to take along.

Living in New York means commuting to work in not necessarily the same shoe you’ll be wearing around the office, so when the weather warms up I’ll be relying on one or two of these preppy picks to take me there. Friday afternoon I stopped into Uniqlo on Broadway to check out the new Jil Sander collaboration (J+) and as usual, found two dozen pieces I could snap up within minutes. I exercised some extreme self control and narrowed it down to three little numbers — two sweaters and a J+ dress. I also saw these soft cotton blazers, which would pair perfectly with boyfriend jeans and some Tretorns . Yacht is optional.
