This morning, I went to sit out on the carport
Just to look at the early dew as it turned to morning.
I Noticed a Bird chirping and cawing.

My thought was, Hey little bird why are you so talkative?
Why are you chirping and cawing so?
The bird continued to chirp and caw...
Flying back and forth, from tree to tree, roof to ground, and back around...

Then I became annoyed, I was like...crazy bird...
Don't you realize that nobody else is making up
all this noise, but you?
Do you hear ANY OTHER BIRDS
chirping and cawing?

And the little sucker just kept chirping and cawing,
Flying back and forth, from tree to tree, roof to ground, and back around...
I mean the sucker wouldn't quit!

So I began to rationalize well, maybe something is wrong.
...Maybe it's lost a baby,
I noticed an occasional bird or squirrel would pause as it passed through.
...or maybe he's the local news and warning service.

I don't know, but I got stirred... and I decided to jump up and walk
around to the front of the house, you know checking the grass, walkways,
and hedges as I go
...you know looking up at the roof,**blinding sun**,
...you know, because something had to be wrong.
the trees, just to check that nothing has happened.

And sure enough, NOTHING!!!
But that little sucker was STILL CHIRPING AND CAWING!!
Flying back and forth, from tree to tree, roof to ground, and back around...
STILL CHIRPING AND CAWING!

It got me to thinking,
...you know how philosophical I can get...
That bird is just being a bird...
See that little bird, didn't care who or what thought he was crazy!
He decided when he got up today, He was going to put his voice
OUT THERE!!
That this day, he's going to be the best bird he can be.
He is going to stir ALL LIVING CREATURES. Big and small
within earshot of it's voice!

And why can't we as God's greatest creation
see in ourselves that we have been holding silent,
long enough?

You see what makes us unique as human beings,
Is that we have the ability to rationalize our actions...
to make us feel good.

"I've got big dreams, but it's ok if I just settle where I am."
NO!!! We are supposed to dig in and FIGHT...right where we stand!
Fight for the opportunity of freedom and prosperity for our family!

Decide that this day, we will boldly grab the reins of the vision/dream
that to good Lord has given uw, that we will write it down, keep
it clear and near!

Decide like the little bird, that if no-one thinks we are crazy,
we are not dreaming LOUD ENOUGH!!!

Watching C-SPAN this morning and listening to the guests Mark Krikorian, Center for Immigration Studies, Executive Director, and Laura Reiff, Essential Worker Immigration Coalition, Founder argue their perspectives on immigration and it's effect on labor and the economy reminded me of an email that's floating around....

You have the "anti-immigration" side represented by Mark Krikorian arguing that the problem is business wants cheap labor. Laura Reiff representing what they call "immigration reform" arguing that business wants workers that are documented.

This got me to thinking you know how philosophical I can get...

It is my belief that the anti-immigration movement really does not take into account the effect their stance has on small business. They are convincing the poor, the underpaid, and the racist, looking for any cause that legitimizes their prejudice, that undocumented workers are the problem. Isn't the problem really the number of jobs that corporate America will outsource and offshore at the first chance they get?

You have CEO's of major corporations like AT&T's Randall Stephenson, singing the same old tired song he's been singing for the past few years about not being able to find qualified workers for jobs he wants to bring back to the US. Well cry me a river! The truth is AT&T is more than likely "over qualifying" for these positions. Requiring a degree or certification for jobs that don't need either. This may also be an industry recruitment problem.

I do love one brilliant perspective of the "hate the immigrants" baitors, Krikorian's argument that it is their(corporate America) sheer lack of motivation to contribute to, let alone encourage the education of more Americans to meet these hard to find "qualifications" they are seeking.

I'll take Krikorian's argument a step further, and let you know from my own personal experience with the telecom giant. They have an education reimbursement program in place. To qualify you have to major in certain areas of study. Some I had never heard of and found them useless. Your request has to be approved by your immediate supervisor and then their supervisor. You are allowed to pursue this "education" or degree program provided it does not interfere with "the needs of the business". So, if your supervisor doesn't approve your degree program, or even worse finds, though it is a valid field of study, the courses would interfere with "the needs of the business," you get no reimbursement for pursuing the degree.

One of the most atrocious things AT&T does (which gives insight into how much they really value educated and certified workers) is internally qualify technicians to work on all their high-tech networks, routers, and switches, but have no program in place to grant technicians needed certifications(CCSE, NCSE, etc). So that when they are displaced, surplused, or just sick of their horrible supervisor, they can't easily go to work for a company that requires certification for the same duties performed at AT&T for 10 or 20 years.

They are also disingenuous because they will take highly qualified IT applicants and place them in mundane positions, using software to monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot networks. Instead of placing them in their area of expertise. Prior to working for AT&T, I worked for over seven years as a software developer and DBA(C, Visual Basic, SQL server, etc.). When they hired me they placed me in a call center testing circuits. How stupid of a placement was that? I didn't complain because the job still paid in the low to mid 50's, but I never understood why a company that was beginning to grow as an ISP and needed software developers would put someone like me in such a mediocre position. I was not the only one, there were several of us, web developers and the like.

It may have been because the placement agency in Little Rock, AR, under pressure from the top, desperate to avoid legal recourse and meet supply demands of a growing LEC and ISP market, wanted anyone computer literate. Most of the developer jobs were in other states. Then they have this whole weird "management/non-management" caste culture. So a tech(non-management) making more than "management" had to have this top secret special access code(PIN) to apply for the IT(management) jobs. I'm sure you can guess...which had to be approved by your supervisor then by their supervisor. Are you getting the pattern? Get a supervisor that wants to hold you in their organization, and you will be stuck there until you quit or a new manager comes along.

Being an ambitious person, this was my overall problem with AT&T. Performers get praise and punishment. No chance at promotion. The inside joke amongst craft was if you want to go places with AT&T give low performance and perfect attendance (or have a good friend/relative in management). No one was holding the reigns of some of their rogue managers. They have management, that's been there 20 or more years, they know is a problem but refuse to eliminate. Being highly skilled and educated, I did what a lot of people would be afraid to do. I resigned. I could not take the horrible management team in the high volume call center ANY LONGER!! I'll gladly testify, if it had not been for the manager I would still be there.

Like a lot of former AT&T employees, I get lots of calls from recruiters to fill their contract positions. That experience with such a horrible person left a bad taste in my mouth. Now I know, a lot of people that have a passionate dislike for their former employer, it's not the company it's the BAD management.

I'm sure you've heard about it.
The mortgage industry is the cause of the inconsistency in the market.

So all the financial talking heads are riding the Bush administration to save them from the risky investments of their obsessive greed.

First they role out Paulson with the "presolicitation"...all under the pretense that this is going to benefit the consumer.

So we sittin' our simple minded asses back happy we MAY avoid foreclosure.

This got me to thinkin...

You know how philisophocal I can get....

I personally have paid over $50,000 worth of mortgage payments over the last four years.
I have null equity... my principal balance has not shrank it has reversed...the only equity I have gained is through increased property value.

I know that I am not alone here.

The Consumer so dayum happy our dumb asses done forgot... the first years the bank applies the majority of our payments towards the interest while giving the buyer very miniscul principal credit.

Let me get this straight... the big greedy ass banks bought my mortgage along with several hundred others for lets say 60-70% of the original loan amount...while I was still held liable for lets say 100% of the original loan amount + interst....

....the banks have been collecting my majority interst payments to the tune of $50,000 over the last four years while increasing my principal balance $12,000...(which is $62,000 for the banks)...

Let's do the math here....

Say...

I bought for $132,000 + $12,000(bal increase) = $144,000(I owe the bank)

Bank bought for $92,400(70% org val) - $50,000(payments made) = $42,400(banks possible loss)

Oh...somebody please remind the readers, whats the purpose of that phuggin' mortgage insurance?

$166,000(house value/my loss) - $42,400(bank loss) = $123,600(bank wins)

The banks get pmi/mip... their loss is covered on the majority of foreclosed properties.

If you happen to live in an area, even with foreclosures where there is appreciating home value.

Even at auction....the bank comes out a winner.

What do you get?

Maybe somebody out there looking at this disparity thinks this is ok.

This is capitalism at its best.

How does this benefit the consumer?

Here's a plan...

If they really want to benefit the consumer: Ease up the second mortgage or refinance qualifications to allow those with equity to tap into that equity to meet past due mortgage balances and pay off any other debt the equity will cover. Have a period of interest only payments followed by a period of majority principal - partial interest payments. where

We tout and promote capitalism. At a time when people are working to acquire net worth, it is a cruel and unjust system that would allow consumers with equity in a property to walk away BROKE.

All the hype today is about the Senate Intelligence committee report that confirms after years of investigating that the information the Bush Admin used to go to war in Iraq was faulty.

I'll agree with Tony Snow here.... BIG SURPRISE!
Though, as press secretary I am disappointed in Tony.
He appears to have surcom to the talking points. I am yet to hear him have an independent voice. I know he has to be in lockstep with the White House. Just sayin' he's starting to sound more and more scripted and overly defensive.

Just always have to wonder about the kinda people that can shrug off affecting the lives of hundreds of thousands of people, soldiers, families, and Americans because they made horrible decisions based on inaccurate intelligence.

The kinda people that continue to show no remorse, no pause for mental faculty, no sensitivity, no responsibility.

And even more you have to wonder about the people that defend them.

Psychotics!

Willingly or unwillingly, even the state has to pay restitution when it has wrongly prosecuted.

I am looking for these helluva men these brainwashed conservative bimbo's like Ann Coulter keep ranting and raving about. Right now they are looking like a bunch of punk ass bitches suffering from little man syndrome.

Are you now prepared to say, confirm Newsweek that Richard Armitage was one of your sources?
MR. NOVAK: I told Mr. Isikoff, the investigator—he’s a very good investigative reporter, by the way—but I told him that I do not identify my sources on any subject if they’re on a confidential basis until they identify themselves. I don’t say that somebody was or wasn’t. I’m going to say one thing, though, I haven’t said before. And that is that I believe that the time has way passed for my source to identify himself.

Apperently directing them to drive the conversation on Hezbollah as a terrorist organization and not a valid political organization in Lebannon, I came up with this:

This morning I was watching Superman on HBO2. It got me to thinkin.

You know how philosophical I can get.

Conservatives are all up in arms because Superman Returns doesn't mention fighting for the American way.

There are some who are saying Hollywood intentionally made this decision because they wanted Superman to be an "international" hero. Well I say phoooey!!! You capitalists are soooo shallow!

I belive there are intellects in Hollywood. They made this decision because they were hoping someone would see the symbolism.

I find it ironic that at a time when prominent conservative spinsters have decided to wage a war with the "liberal" news media; the great American hero they are whining about, this great American hero that fights for Truth, Justice, and the American way... is a reporter, Clark Kent, at a newspaper, The Daily Planet. Smitten by an investagative reporter, Lois Lane, at the newspaper.

See you unhappy never-satisfied whiners. It is the American news media that is the most American thing about the United States. Freedom of the press so far has been the only gaurantee to truth the American people have had for years. I find great satisfaction in knowing there is a partner in this democracy that cannot be sworn, threatened, or bribed into secrecy at any time.

The great American hero fighting for truth, justice, and the American way is the American news media.

Let's say the evacuation was successful. Everyone got out. There were no lives lost.

Like Cheney our next in line for the throne, I too had to take several hours to soak in what has happened and the implications of his hunting "accident".

I laughed into an asthmatic attack while watching the Daily Show with John Stewart that Monday night(Feb 13) after the story broke. Letterman and Leno were funny but the "mainstream" media's paranoia restrained their canned jokes.

While the conservative talk shows, talking heads, media, and op eds express their "outrage" at the whitehouse press corps so-called self appointed importance for feeling that the administration should have made a statement immediately following the incident. I am equally appalled at an adminstration that continues to operate in what is properly being labeled a cloud of secrecy.

Conservatives go on and on about the arrogance of the press I feel it is more arrogant for elected officials to believe that they have no accountability to the people that ELECTED them.

I find it very troubling that the Congress and conservative media were able to get a special prosecutor and congressional investigations into a supposed crooked land deal in Arkansas back in the 1980's when Bill Clinton was NOT PRESIDENT. But can't seem to get real results from any of the congressional hearings surrounding unethical, questionable, and criminal activity of Bush or Cheney.

The sad thing is, this is funny to conservatives. They have spewed their hatred and intolerence over the airwaves. Forced it through the world by the barrel of a gun and ignited violence and instability in the middle east. They do these evil things to push their agenda of greed and privilege while trying to convince the people that they are on a mission from God?

My question is who's God? Jesus was against war and intolerence. They certainly are not on a war for the God that Jesus represented. Jesus fed the multitudes with fish and loaves that were offered. He didn't formulate that those who had the most to offer should keep more of their offering while those with less starved.

Today I am going to investigate how hunting accidents are usually handled by law enforcement.
I'll post that article later.

It is a supposed president and conservative leadership that have no self-respect, no shame, and no consideration for the good christian American values that we are working to instill in our children.

For days now it has been slowly leaking out that the Bush administration and it's Pentagon are deciding for us if we have a right to privacy, right to assemble, right to protest.
They are deciding for us if we are guilty by association.

The Bush administration would try to convince us that the recent release of Pentagon documents showing that they were investigating US citizens involved in anti-war protests and the current so-called "leak" to the New York Times that Bush authorized the NSA to spy on US citizens are independent coincidences.

Though the administration will defend both of these policies and the need for the "Patriot Act" as essentail to the war on terrorism.

Either the incidents are related or they are not.

Is anybody other than myself wondering what do anti-war protesters and meetings of church groups have to do with terrorism?

Are you aware that this current NSA report is not the first NSA report on problems concerning the Bush admininstrations spy policy? NSA alerted Bush to risks of cyber-spying. The President was warned several times about questionable aspects of his spy policy and it's possible intrusion on the rights of Americans.

There are those that continue to defend Bush's insatiable appetite for power. They will see nothing wrong with anything he does to American citizens as long as their names are not on one of the spy lists.

Well I will give him no such PASS! If you love your President so much and believe in his legacy it is time for you to admit to yourself that he has a problem. He's an addict that has not fully recovered and someone needs to initiate an intervention.

For the rest of you even though they are trying to distract us like they are doing such a great job for America. Our infrastructure is deteriorating. Don't forget the victoms of the last several hurricanes who are still displaced, homeless, or living in shelters, who's cities and towns are still without electricity, clean drinking water and/or public education systems.

Convincing themselves that maybe this moron really does listen to them, the conservative talking heads are jumping and leaping from their sideline seats with great joy, excitement, and gratification. Bush has finally broke his silence and is fighting back!

He'd have to be listening to them. Who else would be convincing him that he should not apologize to Americans for anything that has happened in his administration that gives the indication of incompetence or dishonesty.

And what is Bush's great statement of defiance? His outright proclamation of innocence?

Critics are trying to rewrite history.

All I can think about is how the Rush's and Mike Gallaghers of the world go on and on about how the opponents of the war and the Bush war policy don't get it.

I beg to differ. I think that people get it. More and more people get it every day. Even Republicans are now getting it.

It is being got that even though the President and his administration were warned that the intelligence was questionable they used it. Put it out here in the public domain. They did the same thing with the link between Saddam and Al Queda. Which has also been proven false intelligence.

We get that conservatives want to minimize the significance of the Scooter Libby indictment because he was not charged with purposely outing a CIA agent.

What they don't get is that for the average American it is more deviant. It is the idea of why the administration was so interested in discrediting Joe Wilson as opposed to proving their case. It is the Bush White House M.O. blame and discredit. Throwing out the fact that Wilson's wife(an "employee" with the CIA) got him the assignment to investigate administration claims that Saddam was seeking yellow cake uranium.

Should we be asking ourselves why the CIA felt it should investigate this claim. Surely they trust the accuracy of intelligence that comes from the White House.

I guess as long as the Tom Delay's are the in essential out job ops to their wives, sons, daughters there's no problem.

They (the administration) are working to twist the facts on yet another accusation against them. They may have pressured intelligence organizations to manipulate prewar intelligence toward the argument for war. This is not a new charge. The early Bush administration blew off intelligence reports that did not implicate Iraq in some way. Bush was preoccupied with Saddam.

There is also the Downing Street Memo . Supposed British intelligence correspondence on the Bush push for the war. The memo inferences that the Bush administration would ensure that the intelligence on Iraq would support war by any means.

We're just supposed to forget that Bush appointed a panel that investigated the prewar intelligence and reported in April 2005 the the prewar intelligence was DEAD WRONG?

We're supposed to forget how they screw around with the first amendment. Using the media on the one hand through conservative talk radio to plant a seed of distrust and suspicion in the so called left-wing news media and then using conservative news media to ramp out false intelligence "exclusives" through white house operatives like Libby under the protection of anonymity.

American's we have short memories and we're terrible at math.

We're getting it.

So far I have been mute on the subject of hurricane Katrina.

I have been overwhelmed. Overwhelmed that this affected several hundred miles of the US Gulf coast.

Shocked at the images of starving dehydrated refugee's in AMERICA!?

Finally I am extremely disappointed. Disappointed in the number of mean nasty conservative talk show hosts that continue to spew hatred and intolerance. Exercise no compassion or respect for basic human life and broadcast the same old twisted lies.

After watching Hannity and Combs on Fox tonight, I have to break my silence.

Sean you stupid malicious elitist PIG even the best evacuation plan would have done nothing about the FLOODING!!! NOTHING!!!

You sound ridiculous trying to justify or suggest that the horror humans experienced in the wake of a natural disaster is their fault.

Why are O'Reilly and the Hannity Combs show STILL talking about the looting?

While watching "Troy". I was trying to remember the story of Achilles. What made him a hero. Then I was tickled by the Disney version of the story of Hercules.

How he was not conceived by an affair of Zeus with a mortal, but that he was the child of Zeus and Hera who was kidnapped by a couple of Hades agents and fed a potion that was supposed to make him mortal. But because he didn't drink the last drop he became a human with extra human strength.

I found this twist humorous, yet it got me to thinking...

You know how philosophical I can get.

As Judeo-Christians we are taught to believe that there is only one God.
We have even gone as far as to label all other beliefs as pagan.

But, could the early polytheists have been on to something? If God created man in his own image. Why are there so many varieties of man? There are two distinct varieties that immediately come to mind. The first is male and female.
The second is race. So many that to this day we are still naming new races of humans.

I find it most interesting that the Kings James version of the Holy Bible in Genesis 1:26 says: "And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the seas, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth."

Is God speaking in plural here?

Who are these others with whom he is seeking counsel?

This is an old argument. But what are your thoughts on this?
Was this just a pact with God and the "things" of the earth for a man that they could agree would rule over them? Or was God actually conglomerating with other divine beings?

While channel surfing I ran across this add. I'm sure you've seen it.
The one where they're trying to convince you to contact them if you have an idea for an invention before some big corporate conglomerate markets it and you miss out on another chance at the jackpot, SUCCESS!!

This got me to thinking.

You know how philosophical I can get.

We not only do this with our ideas for "mechanical" inventions, but also with "life" inventions. Our education, relationships, careers, and yes, even our children.

We all have a responsibility to prepare our kids for greatness. Most of us begin teaching our babies the basics: early belief, faith, and lifestyle steering. On my quest to this achievement I find myself convinced of a few things:

Investment in our kids is vital to their future and their success.
Observing successful people gives us insight into the likelihood that our children will be successful.
Intuition tells us if they are destined for greatness.

Most of us do not act on these feelings.

I am appalled at the number of descent and God fearing adults and parents that treat kids as second class citizens. Holding them to self discipline and control standards that most adults cannot adhere to. We should understand that they too are humans.

We don't take their lives serious enough to acknowledge and understand that children hunger at an early age for approval. They are little adults with desires, dreams, pressures. They want to know that they are contributing. That they are needed. A sense of value and importance. A sense of belonging.

I often reflect on how I got here. Did I plan to be a single 30 something mom? Not sure, but I do know that I always imagined if I had a child he would achieve great things. I have vowed to succeed in the full development of my own man child. To instill in him that hunger and desire for success and accomplishment.

I'm sitting here bright and early on a Saturday morning...after a night of a strong and powerful thunderstorms that included all the drama of roaring black clouds, bright bursts of lightening and short power outages.

Looking out over my green lawn and how refreshed and renewed it looks. Swing open the patio door step out take a big deep breath. Ahhhh just love this feeling. Then I step out into the lawn...and there it is...muddy gushy soggy!!!! Ewwww!!! Immediately I am reminded refreshed and renewed can still have a muddy messy surprise.

So I find myself diving into something new. There I have admitted it to myself...with you as a witness. You try to go into this new thing wide eyed and open minded. Try not to let bad business ventures discourage us from a new venture, try not to let past bad relationships affect our new ones. Yet you can't help but ask yourself, "am I being played for a sucker"?

I wonder... where does the doubt come from?

For me this is tough because I have always had the Vegas ideology about the past. What happened there stays there. But can we really leave behind all that baggage? Can we really just move on?

Even "wise" sayings are conflicted on this very matter. There's a sayin "dwell in your past you'll rob your future." Then there's the "if you don't know where you've been, how can you know where you're going?"

So here I am. I have to find that balance between giving this new opportunity a complete unadulterated beginning and learning from my past that there are patterns and warning signs to which I need to be attuned.

Using Performance Enhancers? Cheater!!!!

With all the talk about the upcoming Jose Canseco testimony before the US Congress, I have decided to repost an earlier article I wrote concerning the subject of using performance enhancers.

Is using performance enhancers, cheating?

I was watching the qualifying rounds for the US Olympic track team. The subject came up about the number of athletes participating that were under suspicion for the use of performance enhancers.

One of the commentators said something about how it is only six out of 1000 athletes that are in question. He went on to talk about how track and field was gonna have to go through this cleansing process. The other commentator came back with how the cheaters had to go.

I began to ponder if the use of performance enhancers is really cheating.

Apparently the whining ass under performers are leading the fight and have made this the thought in sports today. Some of the pro leagues even the Olympic committee has barred the use of performance enhancers. All under the belief, that using performance enhancers is cheating.

This is the stupidest shit I have heard! Hell, they may as well say the weight training, toning, and dieting that gives some athletes advantage over others is cheating as well!

I remember when they were fucking with that white boy, I think his name was McGuire and Sammy Sousa about using performance enhancers. As if that's the reason they were hitting homers.

Like targeted weight training, the enhancers may help to develop the muscle to give you more power with the swing, but it is not a guarantee that every swing of the bat will be a home run. Hitting homers is a talent. It is the skill of aiming your swing so that it will impact a speeding blur at an angle of projectory such that it will travel + or - 15 degrees of the batter and land several hundred feet away. It requires hand and eye coordination and it requires heart!

For me I believe professional athletes should use performance enhancers. I fully support anything an athelete can do that will keep them from over exerting their bodies. They take a brutal beating for the sport and for our entertainment. I see it as a conscientious health choice. I feel these athletes have made a RESPONSIBLE choice.

They have families, children and spouses. When the sport has used them up and thrown them away their families will be there. Their families will often watch them suffer with life long injuries and pain. If that enhancer means that athlete can perform at the high quality we expect from our athletes, lengthen their career, and when he or she retires they are still in good health, we should not be taking a reactive prohibitive approach. We should as an educated and scientific culture take time to perform studies and find out what the actual affects of performance enhancers are or are not.

Are we also saying that people who use performance enhancers for sex are cheating sex?

If you a limp dick and can't fuck and the only reliable hard on you get is with viagara, look out cause they'll be outlawing your cheating ass next!
