So I am getting engaged. That means marriage and of course - and a stag night. Whoohoo! So, I am thinking of getting about 30 mates together and all disappearing off to somewhere like Amsterdam.

As a bit of fun, we’ve started talking about everybody getting a Stormtrooper outfit and bombing about - sounds like fun, eh?

So. Prices.

I have spent a bit of time comparing the best prices of fancy dress costumes from the dark side and here they are….

• For top of the range deluxe storm trooper costumes, you’re talking @ £600 per costume. Gulp.
• But you can get cheap stormtrooper costumes for about a tenth of that price.

I think I will go with the expensive one, and a few of my mates will do the same. But there will be quite a few boys decked out in the cheap stormtrooper outfits lol

Google Local Business Maps Ranking Tips For Small Businesses

Google Local business maps is a neat little tool especially for small businesses - quite easily, and within a day or two, you can get some free visibility courtesy of Google when people are looking for your type of business on the web.

It’s 100% free (although some companies will charge you quite a lot in my opinion) for adding your business.

List Of Seven Wonders Of The World (Ancient)

One of my slightly longer term ambitions is to visit the sites of the seven wonders of the ancient world. So far I’ve visited two of the seven ancient wonders of the world. I’ll be happy if I manage to get to travel to them all (for a start) in my lifetime.

I have set eyes on the wall of lofty Babylon on which is a road for chariots, and the statue of Zeus by the Alpheus, and the hanging gardens, and the colossus of the Sun, and the huge labour of the high pyramids, and the vast tomb of Mausolus; but when I saw the house of Artemis that mounted to the clouds, those other marvels lost their brilliancy, and I said, “Lo, apart from Olympus, the Sun never looked on aught so grand”.

Of course there’s only one of the 7 wonders of the ancient world still standing - the pyramid at Giza and (I think) I’m going to travel to Egypt next year to see it (and possibly the site of the Great Pharos Lighthouse) . The amount of times I have visited Turkey (about 4) I really should have visited Halicarnassus (at Bodrum I think) by now but I will definitely be back there.

Don’t know why I am fascinated  by the 7 wonders of the world, but there you have it. Something to keep me busy…

According to our stats my FREE SEO PDF EBook has been downloaded by nearly 5,000 people - pretty cool!

You can get a copy of the free seo pdf “Google SEO For Beginners” on the Hobo site. I’ve had some pretty amazing feedback about it - not bad because it was very rushed out. It wasn’t supposed to be a professional book, but I am glad folk liked it.

I’ll update the PDF version of the Ebook in the coming months with the latest info - I might even spell check it this time lol

Traditionally at HoboWeb we have an Xbox league which we play out while we are working on a Friday.

Normally we publish on a friday the results too. Recently we’ve just been far too busy to play, with only the odd game getting played (we’re still playing Pro Evolution Soccer at the moment).

Recent Google SEO @Hobo Blog

I’ve been doing most of my writing on the Hobo blog recently. My Search Engine Optimisation guide for beginners took a few weeks of my time to pull together.

But more recently I discussed the quickest route to getting content into Google publishing just what you can expect to see happening with my Google crawling & Indexing Time Trial post.

I also discussed Wolfram Alpha ad pondered whether I should be trying to rank for SEO UK rather than just UK SEO.

To be honest probably my favourite one is questioning wether or not it’s Diversity Of Keywords In Your Link Profile That’s King.

My SEO Guide was pretty well recieved within the SEO community (by those who commented on it) but I’m a bit dissapointed with the general response. Oh Well Back to work!

Virgin 50 Meg Download Broadband Service (UK)

Whoohoo! Virgin Media has officially launched its new 50 Megabits per second (Mbps) domestic broadband service for customers to buy into.

Virgin Broadband will be the first UK ISP to roll out a next generation broadband service that runs far faster than most other broadband available to UK web surfers. The 50 Mbps service will cost £51 a month, although this is reduced to £35 if users also take a Virgin Phone line for an additional £11 a month.

More on the BBC, but I think it might tempt me to sign up for Virgin. They say you can download a film in minutes and an album in seconds…..
