Wohooo~ It's my first post on Greenlight! not exactly my first Greenlight car but felt like blogging about this more since the car has similarity with my Hot Wheels Vintage Racing. Always being fascinated by Greenlight cars because of it's accuracy and superb detailing. Just that most of the releases are muscle cars which are not the type of cars I'm concentrating on. Anyway this one definitely caught me!

How can you resist such beauty~

looking at all angles, the accuracy of the casting is really superb!

My personal favourite is the head lights! it's totally like the real car!

GreenLight's signature feature - Openable engine hood!

only thing is you have to detail it yourself here..haha

Also another reason why it is a must-get --> to pair with the 1970 Ford Mustang Boss!!

totally perfect when displayed together. And the size of the castings are similar to each other too!

So guys, Still thinking about it? dont think, just buy buy buy!! hahaha~

Nissan GT-R

The name GT-R is already a well known brand in Malaysia even if the person is not a collector nor a car enthusiast. For me, the name GT-R became known when it was featured in the anime Initial-D. (yeah not much of a car lover back then :-p) And also when one of my seniors from school brought the car (R32) back from Japan. Though the wiki has been live on the internet for a really long time, i never really check how the history of GT-R is like. I've only known it since the R32 till the current R35.
Finally last year Hot Wheels came out with many cool models of classic race cars, including two of R32 predecessors, which are the HakoSuka and KenMeri that are known to the world wayy back from 1969 and 1973! Only then that i realized that my GT-R collection is actually completed! lol..So here are them!

Sadly, Hot Wheels didnt produce the R33 in their mainline so far so the one from tomica will be the representative lol..Anyway in this post I have the idea to let you see how the design of the GT-Rs evolved in each of their line-ups..pretty cool when you compare it like this :)

Comparison from the front side. It's interesting that through out the years they managed to maintain the "HakoSuka" or box-shaped skylines till the R34. Guess not R35 because it is already not in the skyline series.

Side profiles. Seems like it gets bulkier over the time!

Finally the rear design, which is also my favorite view of the GT-Rs. Seems like the rear lights trademark of GT-R has already been there since the Kenmeri. My Personal favorite would be the R34 and the New GT-R . Hope Hot Wheels can really do something about their paint alignment because sometimes it really ruins the superbly made casting!

After a long break of no new post, this post really made me eager to start writing back (and with lots of pics too! lol.

Ken Block Ford Fiesta

Love both Fiesta and Ken Block gymkhana vids! thus having this car is like 2 in 1 greatness! I once tried the highest range fiesta hatchback in a test drive and been loving it since then..drove it to 170km/h and still feel like it can go more! imagine how fast the heavily modified Ken Block version can go~

the casting is based on the 5-door version though..not the 3-door version like in gymkhana 4

sadly they couldnt get the Monsters brand to be included in the tampo design or it would have been perfect! but still for a ~RM7 car, this is really cool!

Lastly, the gymkhana movie clip featuring the Fiesta!
Already 11 million views so i guess you guys already seen it but still, watch it again! :D

Aston Martin One-77

Yet another stunning model from Aston Martin made its way into Hot Wheels!

painted the back lights and it became even more perfect!

IMO It's a must so that we can clearly see the unique design of the tail lights.

always like their rear designs!

comparison with previous releases of Aston Martin cars..the One-77 is a bit small compare to its brothers. Also notice the grille of One-77 protrude to the front because it is not riveted on the front side. Wish they rivet both sides so it would be like the other two.

Other than that? No Complain! Love it! XD

1:64 BMW Vision EfficientDynamics

First saw this car on an advertisement last year..there are many concept cars introduced through out the year but this one in particular really stands out! even more so when it is featured in Mission Impossible 4 movie..thanks to hokuan for bringing this one in bulk! Love it!

comes with a simple box..going green concept i guess..heh

the most photogenic car in my collection yet! Comparing to the real car, the only things missing are the side mirrors..other parts of it are very accurately done..totally impressed!

the interior looks calm and neat!

Overall very satisfied with the car..heard from the seller that the car is made by Jada. which is why i have confidence to buy it straight without looking it up close. though the only thing im hoping is for it to have a better set of wheels..but I wonder if the real car itself uses normal rubber tires..probably not? well doesnt really matter since it still looks great!

Thanks to my friend kukubeh for keeping the car with him for so long lol
finally got it! my first hot wheels with openable engine hood + RR wheels! :D

Even though the size of the car is the same as any other 1/64 civic si from the mainline series, hot wheels managed to make the detailing close to perfect..with lights in separate clear parts and built in engine!

the details on this car are so cool you might even think it's not from hot wheels..heheh

close up of the engine..mmm anyone can tell the engine residing in it? :D

The car comes in a pair with ford focus sealed in a box. not really a ford collector thus having this one alone is good enough! now i wonder if should start looking for the other variant of this..oh my >_>

Lamborghini JLOC

Wow almost 4 months of inactivity! haha
been wanting to post these two cars from Kyosho Lamborghini collection 3.
there are many interesting models from the series but considering price worth i decided on getting the GT cars only..so here they are!

oops wrong label :P

JLOC stands for Japan Lamborghini Owner's Club and is also a racing team that actively participating in All Japan GT Championships (JGTC)

Just notice the top-back view looks like a cockroach omg! lol

Given the details and heavy racing decals all over the cars, they are totally worth it!

Elite Transporter: Evo X

I dont have much car transporter in my collection. The one i like most so far is the '63 VW Bus Pickup from Jada ..the one from MBX real working rigs series is interesting too but the price is not appealing. Lastly i went with this simply because it also comes with an Evo X!

The Transporter with Evo X

The appeals of this car are the low ride and the decals..

detailing wise are good too though i don't really like the painting on the front lights.

i think it looks funny.

Another minus for me is the deep offset of the wheels and that the front wheels are really thin!

but it looks ok if you are not looking at it at this view..heh

The transporter also has good decal design and detailing on it.

The flatbed is wide and able to accommodate most if not all 1/64 cars i have from any other brands.

It can be tilted to imitate real working rigs too.

Comparison with other Evo X casting from Tomica Limited and Hot Wheels,

I think you can tell which is which from the pictures..heheh

To me, all have their own strength and weakness in terms of looking awesome

but overall i think tomica limited still the best as it looks closest to the real thing.

So in the end, it depends on the collector's preferences, some will just buy from certain brand, some will buy the most accurate and best and some will just collect any Evo X casting out there. Well, this one is still a good addition for me.

This year is a little bit special for Hot Wheels market in Malaysia as we are given many new series coming in to retail shops like the Vintage Racing, Garage series and even the 20-cars set.
Vintage Racing consist of classic muscle cars with better detailing and rubber tires. Most of the line-up are not in my collecting list but these two pairs of Boss 302 did get my attention.
anyway, enjoy the pics!

The best thing about these two cars is the almost perfect replica of the real cars,

with matching decal designs, wheels and color schemes

notable differences of the two cars are the wheels, grilles and the color of the front lights

The name of the drivers are printed on top of the roof..and of course it's readable..haha

While some collectors collect certain cars because they know the history of the cars, I am more to those who learn about the car's history through collecting. Learning about the interesting history of these two legendary trans-am cars driven by Parnelli Jones and George Follmer in1970, i came to like the cars even more.

THE Bugatti Veyron

We all know why Bugatti Veyron is so popular; it's the fastest, most epic, most expensive, most majestic looking street legal car. well if we talk about being the fastest, the normal Veyron is no longer the one but its Super Sport version still is! As a tribute to this awesome car ever i thought of getting the best replica of it.

Being a 1/64 scale collector, surely i'll not buy the 1/18 nor the 1/43 version even though the detailing is next to perfect. Hotwheels was the only brand i can look up for one but it cant really represent the charming charisma the real car has. Then i found out about this Limited Edition Veyron from AutoArt, ooh how expensive it is! lol..but lucky me, during my visit in Beijing i found a shop selling it at a very irresistible price..So here it is!!!!

The limited edition comes with plain rough cardboard type of box instead of the normal glossy ones.

i prefer the normal ones though..lol

At Beijing, most of the original and expensive stuff like jade especially have certificates to guarantee its authenticity..so it was kinda funny when i showed to my family, see even my Veyron got its own cert! XD

Too Awesome..no need for me to tell you which part of it is awesome..everything is!!

But then if you still want me to specifically mention the most awesome part of it, i would say it's the wheels!!

SUPERB!!!

The engine detailing is nice too, with minimal shading. Love the clear front lights!

OK i know it's seriously unfair to put Hotwheels side by side with the AA but I have no other brands with me to compare it with..and I just noticed I don't have the Hotwheels Speed Machines version either lol

Anyway what I can say here is this is the quality you'll get if you pay like 5 times the standard price of Hotwheels (RM40 to RM7) LOL

But then, it's also 10 times the awesomeness, making it totally worth it =D

Veyron at its best!

If you got poisoned kaw kaw by this post, you might wanna ask, Where to get it???

well, So far i only know diecastempire.com selling it for around RM60 or for those in Singapore at SGD25 like reported by my friend..OR you can just stop by Beijing and get it for RM40!! hahahaha~~ XD

Calsonic Impul GT-R (R35)

After i finally got my long search Calsonic Z, i found another target of getting the whole Calsonic team!

LOL..the hunting never ends..anyway here is the second Calsonic car i got recently..The GT-R!!

Actually i got poisoned by my friend Loon who posted a picture of his Xanavi team.

and since i already got the Z, why not i just start with the calsonic team? lol

GT-R looks best in "corner baring" style indeed! heh

Really need to sharpen my photoshop skills,

radial blur + motion blur not enough to make it looks cool XD

The body kit looks just like the Motul Autech version i talked about earlier

At first i thought the decal is different for both cars..but nooo~ i was wrong.

turned up there's a variation for the GT-R with the exact same decals of the Z!

NO, im not gonna get it..haha!

Side by side with the Motul GT-R..really cool stuff!

mmm could have been better looking with a better camera...argh~ can't wait to get one!

Aston Martin Gulf DBR9

I always like Gulf livery on racing cars..popular ones are like the Ford GT40, Porsche 917, LMP1 etc but as always the nice ones are always hard to get..Managed to find one at last a few weeks ago..and its the DBR9!

The 2005 DBR9 had to give the front seat to this new guy now

It just looks stunning in every angle!

Though there's one thing that always comes to mind when i view it from the front...

YESS~!!..it's definitely based on the mouth of the sea bass!! LOL~!!

Tomica Limited #0013: Nissan Skyline GT-R (R-32)

Hi guys! it has been a while..to my Muslim friends, Selamat Menyambut Maulidul Rasul..hope u had enough time to selawat for him..heheh..Anyway Got this car from a friend for a very good price considering it's a very hard to find model now..hope he will not regret after see my pics..hehehe :P

love it when they used to include the metal plate with the car.

looks nice when displayed together with the car

both front and back lights are in clear parts..

which is not common in TL nowadays sadly

I find the side mirrors look funny though..

but again even having side mirrors is considered a gift in current models..haha

Another reason to like it is because it's in black!

why black? because i like the R32 featured in Initial D =)

Sad to see the lack of details in scale model cars lately though the price keep increasing..i dont mind paying a little bit more for a good quality stuff, rather than buy but then regret. ^^

Calsonic 350Z

After such a long search..i got it! not that its very hard to find but the prices set for it are always high and ridiculous...luckily found it at amcorp at a good price. Before i was aiming for the Tomica Limited version but that was pure impossible now so this one will do. Actually, this one is even better IMO. Enjoy the pics!

Then i found out that there is actually a variant for this car..mine was a release from 2006 while the other one is from 2004..the one in 2004 has decals at the tires but lack the windscreen decals.

Below is the comparison with the 2007 Nismo test car..even the body kit is different..proof that kyosho really take serious attention to details and just not recolor using the same casting over and over again.

Followed by a comparison with the casting of tomica calsonic 350z..the TL version is using the same casting as the regular thus this comparison is valid..kyosho's casting accuracy is a lot better here

The reason for the good price i got is probably because its in loose condition..but then if the BIB condition will cost u like XX more than there is no point to it..better get myself a rm5 daiso case instead ^_^

anyway glad that the search for this one is over!

HWCM 2nd Annual Dinner!

Finally the curtain on 2011 has been officially raised with the 2nd annual dinner of HWCM
a lot of interesting hauls and hunting stories have been shared, and a lot of new friends joining the now matured and strong HWCM community..where the amazing happens (oops where did i hear this phrase? mmm =P).

This time the attendees were around 60 people..which is double the previous event! the activities done are basic cars race, RR wheels cars race and lucky draw. Thanks to the members contributing a lot of awesome prizes making the events more interesting.

These are the door gift for every attendee. a basic car, two super cool club cars and a 10 sticks of satay coupon LOL..fortunately for me i got the chase version of the SP2 club car that comes in co-mold wheels.

New Speed Machines Additions!

It has been quite a while since my last Speed Machine post..not that there is rarely restock but the thing is i rarely buy variations..i prefer having one variant that looks the best compare to other variants.
anyway these are what came during the 7E sales last month (year) lol

This is the second variation i have..this version imo looks even better than the first one..

like it even more because it follows the theme of the original 1996 Mclaren GTR prototype

This is also the second variation of the casting that i have..guess it looks good in silver

This NSX casting is the first one i have in my collection, seriously..lol :P

the previous variations didn't get to my "want-to-buy" state.

not that i dont like NSX but i just didnt find the tampo interesting.

This one though is the best of them all..

would have been better if the red is in green or yellow so it will look like the takata nsx gt car :)

That is all for now..Speed Machines series is really a great addition to the Hot Wheels world since i find the mainline cars hardly impressive nowadays..anticipating more cool line up after this! :)

Custom Cars

Car customizing is becoming popular among collectors nowadays.
since the manufacturing cost is getting higher every year..there are less and less tampo and details given in the original design of the cars sold in the market..thus customizing is the best option to get the variants and designs we collectors like most.
below are some custom cars that i had my friend Andrew@cham did for me..they are quite cool.

it is hard to find the red color of this car, i asked for it to be repainted in red

i got this from amcorp in a very bad condition. straight away sent it for restoration.

love the blancpain gallardo..luckily hot wheels came out with the casting

another car that is not available in red so i have it repainted..

i like the normal red that most FE Ferraris have more though :P

some brands like hotwheels, tomica and even fastlanes have really good and accurate castings but sometimes the lack of details put me off from buying..customizing keeps the hobby alive and fun.
the only things hindering me from starting this new venture are the lack of time and tools.
hopefully soon i'll be able to join the fun too :)

Nissan Skyline GT-R R34

R34 is one of my favorite sports car and also loved by all JDM enthusiast.
therefore i always looking for the most perfect casting of this model in the scale of 1/64 to add to my collection..my 1st casting of the car was from Jada, which was bigger than average 1/64 cars with interesting decals but unfortunately the IMO not really perfect.
then came Hot Wheels and despite it being in the cheaper range, the casting is really good but lack some details..one day i was looking at ebay i finally found a really good and almost perfect casting of R34,
and it is from Tamiya..and here it is!

Superb detailing

also with opening doors!

One thing though the size of this is quite small compared to other brands..not sure which one is accurately following the 1/64 scale..i find the kyosho version alittle similar but not with the opening doors thus making tamiya the winner of them all. anyway for some comparisons;

You might wanna say what about Tomica Limited version of the car? IMHO the casting of TL is surprisingly disappointing..while the TL certainly a keeper for its popularity and value, but the accuracy of the casting is not really to my liking...how about you? from which brand do you think has the best R34 casting in 1/64 scale in your collection?

Aston Martin DBR9

Another kyosho stepped in the house. the 1/18 scale version of this car by autoart really blew me away. since i don't collect big scale cars (yet?), i was hoping for a smaller version. Glad to have it in my collection. Actually any Astom Martin is nice to have. They are really beautiful indeed.

side exhausts!! certainly better than pig nose style..heh

you would think the back lights are just painted but it is actually a separate clear piece.

kyosho really doesn't let me down here..nice!

comparison with Hot Wheels DBS featured earlier.

there's also a kyosho version of DBS but imo not really that appetizing..lol

Muscle Machines JGTC Amemiya RX-7

Muscle Machine is back now this time featuring the Amemiya Matsumoto-Kiyoshi Aspara RX7!!! *gasp*
as the name is too long i will just shorten it to Amemiya since Amemiya is the car's sports tuner..and also said to be the pioneer of rotary engine tuning.
I first came to like the RX-7 and the rotary engine since watching the anime of initial D back in the 90s.
compared to RX8, the RX7 seems to gain more popularity. and there are a lot of after market body kits and just put any of them it will still look good. guess the design of RX7 can really fit any kind of modifications.

looking at the side, you'll notice how minimum the door gap is. at first glance u might not think that this model actually has open-able doors! very neat.

the only thing that i think too stand out is the big antenna..looks a lil' bit cartoon-ish to me

the popular pig nose exhaust..lol~

This exact car driven by T.Ohi and N.Taniguchi managed to win 3rd place in 2003 JGTC. Anyway in case you are wondering, Matsumoto Kiyoshi or Matsu-Kiyo is one of the most popular pharmacy in japan and the Aspara is a type of enegy drink v(￣∇￣)

Motul Autech GT-R

After my 1st purchase of the Nismo Z few months back, i was totally in love with kyosho 1/64..the level of detailing is irresistible indeed! One of my main target then was this Motul GT-R..really glad i finally have it in hand, and at a good price too! thanks to my friend Kendrew frome Diecast Empire :D
Now let the pictures do the poisoning!! :D

though i've been referring it as Motul Autech GT-R, the one stated here is different..not sure if the naming is correct..anyway like any other kyosho, this one comes with a base, but not with the box..only a hard plastic cover as enclosure..probably because its from a "tikam" set.

(or in english is called random set or blind set? not sure ^ ^ ;)

look at the sheer details and paint job, the previous me would not be able to tell whether this is a 1/64 or not..really awesome stuff :D

The one thing I'm wondering here is what is the logo at the side represents? if u ask me, it looks more like my local school badge..hahah

Not a Toy

Any toy can become a serious hobby when there is a community of collectors collecting them. No matter if the toy is originally meant for children or not, the thing that will make it really sell in the market imo would be the existence of collectors or players.
Anyway, im not gonna talk about such serious topic like how worth is your collection or what..but instead a more trivial thing i've just thought about as i browse through my collection today.
It is about the target age that the stuff originally meant for.
i notice that i have model cars that have the notice of 3+,8+ and so on..
so which one in my collection is the most "for adult" only? lets find out..LOL :P

with the least detailed and less parts, hotwheels, mbx and tomica regular is for 3+ and above..don't get tempted by the sad face ur child below 3 gave you.. ^^

this is from 1/72 real-x box..it says taishou nenrei 6 sai ijou which means target age 6 years or older..heh

8+ for hot wheels garage/delivery series, Jada and maisto

14+ for kyosho 1/64, autoart 1/43 and tomica limited..since the difference in material between TL and its regular tomica is just the rubber tires..so i guess rubber tires are really not for kids..haha

this one is from aoshima 1/64..i think it is too ambitious for them to put 15+ because kyosho 1/64 has more small parts than them..heh

and the winner is..or should i say, the model that should be kept farthest away from ur children is this Ebbro 1/43..only show this to your children when they are 16+ ok?? hahah

As funny and nonsense this post is about, wonder what is the most dangerous for kids item you guys collect at home?! ^^;

Tomica Limited #0120 : Lancer EX2000 Turbo

This TL was out last July. For some reason the stock on this one is quite low locally
so i guess i was quite fortunate to be able to grab it.
This EX2000 is popular because of its involvement in the 1982 Rally of the 1000 lakes in Finland,
where it achieved 3rd place. Also it earned the reputation of Europe fastest available 2WD drive production car in the 2-litre category in 1981.
With its powerful engine and well-balanced handling, the EX went on to become a proud successor to the first Lancer. The achievement it had in the past surely make the die-cast be in any Lancer fan wanted list.

Another reason why i like this car is because of its similarities with Proton's 1st generation Saga,
which was out in 1985, and stay in production till 2008! very long indeed.

Even though actually the Saga was based on the 4th generation Lancer,
i think it looks more like the EX2000..good car it was. :)

This Kelisa is the only 1:24 scale model in my collection.
Bought it because it's a replica of the car i own
Not sure about the brand but it was made in china.
The only place i remember selling them was ToyCity few years back.
some Carrefour also do have them in stock but all in bad condition.
must have been kept too long in the store.

There are are few Malaysian cars being produced in scale models
but the quality is usually not up to par with the others..
this Kelisa fortunately though is of decent quality.
At least in the pictures above it does looks good and quite accurate
when compared to the real car.
Am loving both the real car and the scale model.
Who cares what TG Clarkson says anyway right!! hahah :P
