I have attached a flyer in the hopes that you will help us to spread the word about a benefit to help with expenses for the family of Madelyn Lamb.

Madelyn is 8 years old & has already been through 14 surgeries.  She will now have a surgery on June 6th to amputate both of her legs.  She will be at Riley Children’s hospital for around 6 weeks.  One & sometimes both of her parents will be missing work during this time.  The benefit is to help them with their everyday expenses, that losing income will not be able to cover.

The event will be held at the Eagles Lodge on Franklin street here in Shelbyville, on June 1st.  There are many events planned for the day.

In addition bake sales are being held every Monday & Friday at the Lodge to help raise funds.  If you can donate any baked goods, please contact the number on the flyer or you may call here at the church,

This is family living in Shelbyville going through something that no family should have to.  As you can see from Madelyn’s picture on the flyer is a happy 8 year old, looking forward to the surgery & having new legs.

Attention cycling enthusiasts!

White River Sound Chorus and The Bicycle Shop of Shelbyville are hosting the June Bug Jamboree on Sunday, June 2nd.

White River Sound bike rallies are famous for their homemade cookies and singing entertainment at every SAG. Your $25 registration fee includes well-marked routes, ample SAG wagons, detailed maps, and energy-packed snacks.

A June Bug Jamboree t-shirt and wonderful lunch is included for all PRE-registered riders.

The June Bug Jamboree is a century, taking you on a 100 mile loop through the beautiful countryside around Shelbyville, Indiana, south of Indianapolis. Alternate loops of approximately 25 and 55 miles are also available.

Registration is from 8:00 – 10:00 am at Shelbyville High School on Miller Street.  Walk-ins welcome!

SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL TEACHERS!

A portion of the proceeds from the June Bug Jamboree is donated to the teachers of Loper Elementary School to help stock their classrooms with much-needed supplies.

What a great way to enjoy a family outing and support your hard-working teachers!

The 2013-2014 Season Includes:

Young students from A Second Place for Me Inc., a Shelby County preschool and licensed child care program, are participating in the National Lemonade Day educational experience.  Shown here planning the event are the school-age participants, Madi Winiecki, Kelsay Mellentine, Kysha Mellentine and Markiah Miller-Kees.

This opportunity takes them through the process of operating a small business. They have planned out every part of the stand process–location, supplies, sales goals, and even customer service training.  Students also created their lemon shake-up recipe and had it tested and approved by family members.

As decided by the children, their lemonade stand will be a non-profit and all proceeds will be given 50/50 to the Grover Museum and the Shelby County Public Library.  The stand will be at the Grover Museum on Saturday, May 18, 2013, noon to 3:00 pm.

Another Lemonade Day stand will be at Nostalgia On Nine which is at the corner of 500S and  South State Rd. 9. Part of their proceeds will be used to benefit the Shelby County Aspiration group and their initiatives to make Shelby County a great place to Live, Learn, and Invest.
