In the mid-sixties, Dad did about sixty four hours total work, and Mom did about sixty three hours of total work. (Total work includes all three of the task packages including work outside the home.)

She had a leisurely way of life., whiling away her hours tatting in the sunroom, arranging flowers, givign teas, joining clubs, and preparing for her husband’s return, at which time she could minister to his needs by bringing him his slippers, pipe and paper.
