Hawk's 1st Birthday! August 15, 2012

2012-10-16T22:14:00.000-07:00

I was lucky enough to be in Utah for my grandson, Hawk's 1st birthday! He is as sweet, loving and wonderful as he is beautiful. Grandpa and Grandma miss you, Hawk and Big Brother, Cole! Look at what I found in Heather's pumpkin patch! "Delighted!" Mama and Son -- Alpine Loop, Utah "Summer's End"

Went to Texas to help get our daughter and son-in-law moved. Even with their incredibly busy schedules they were able to show me enough of Austin that I immediately fell in LOVE with it! Amazing place... First town in "Texas Hill Country" that we came to. Germans settled it and it still has that German flavor. Awesome place! I could live here in a second! Fredericksburg. Austin, Texas. I don't think they had his size... Allen's Boots. This is just a small sampling of their selection. Texas Skies Food Trucks on South Congress in Austin. Austin Morning "Gourdoughs". I have no words to adequately describe the fresh "donuts" made when you order. You haven't lived until you try one! "So Cool." "Yarn Heaven" Something for everyone at Big Top Candy Shop! More Big Top Candy Shop! "Girls of Austin" -- taking a Sunday stroll along Ladybird Lake. "Fetch!" Austin Skyline "Hula Hut", on Lake Austin. "The Saddle". They were the musical entertainment while waiting to eat the best BBQ in the world, at The Salt Lick. From Austin to Fort Worth by Amtrak. Fun train ride! So, THIS is a shanty! From the window of the train. Back in Time. Backcountry Texas Wildflowers

Near Monticello, Utah. On the way to our youngest daughter, Chelsea's, baby shower! I call this: "Life is Full of Surprises" Striations. Utah has more variety of landscape than any other place I know. "On the Road Again" Chelsea -- the reason for the trip! Getting a baby shower - "showered" by her sister, Heather. "Mine". Chelsea, Heather, and Hawk. Hanging out with Uncle Ben "Beautiful Bouquet" Cole. "What, Grandma?" Happy Hawk Heather's Square Foot Garden! Fed them all summer long. You should see the pumpkins! Much More to Come!

Time Traveling

2012-06-08T08:33:00.000-07:00

I've been spending some time cleaning up my computer and going through files in my external hard drive. It's brought back lots of memories of a different time and wonderful places I've been. Today I'm drawn to nature -- the constant in life that always brings me great happiness. I thought this blog would be a good place to keep the memories. I've only been to White Sands when the skies were blue with a beautiful contrast to the white sand. This time it looked like we were on another planet with white on white until the clouds became dark and stormy. I thought the effect was awesome! Enjoy the photos of my kids that visited from San Diego!

A woman with a spinning wheel at our Farmer's Market spun all this incredible goodness! My entire life I've wanted to learn how to spin. Why haven't I? Spinning and watercolor painting. I will learn how to do those two things before I die. I'd fill my home with both.

Gorgeous yarn that she spun.
