Hello everyone. I am back. I have been away from the blogosphere, because... let's just blame it on my parents (cause they are to be blamed and I am a teenager now, so it comes naturally).

Tonight, Pap's helping me blog. Yea I know, he is awesome. My dad, you see :)

Fellow felines and human companions, here's the big news. I, with my family, have moved house. It is a double storey place. And, I luurrve it (purrrrrrrrr). Although this is a story the ends well, it didn't start good at all.

First I saw Mom packing everything we have into those weird cardboard boxes one week after another. It was fun at first, as you know I am an activity freak. Don't get me wrong, I like to watch activity more than doing it myself. Anyhow, so it was fun activity to watch. But then my favourite stuffs started disappearing. And worse of all, one day most of my toys went into one box.

I did everything a kitty can do in this sort of situation. I whinged, then tried to take those sticky tapes off that box. But that didn't help. Mom did tell me that I would get those back soon, but when a kitty wants his stuffs back, he means immediately. So naturally, I tried to eat those menacing tapes. But here's the news, Mom and Dad wouldn't let me do that. They covered the box with a cloth. So I did the second thing that comes naturally, I slept on the box. And to my surprise, that was allowed. I at times don't get these parent types.

Coming back to my story... Just when I was getting used to all these weirdness, one day three big men came into our place and started taking all those boxes. Being a great kitty that I am, I again did the most natural thing that one can do, I hid under the sofa. And just when I was about to get comfortable under the sofa, wait for it... they took the sofa. Can you even imagine? It was a life changing experience. I always thought, no matter what happens, that sofa will always be my saviour. It was my unshakeable and unwavering protector. But alas, life has now taught me otherwise. And I learn quick. So demonstrating my quick-wit, I took refuge into the built in robe. After a while, all went calm again. So I came out, just to see Dad sitting on the floor with nothing left in the house. Yes, everything was gone. Everything that was of my home, was gone. And Dad didn't seem even a slight bit unhappy about it. But I will be honest here, I was distraught. Too many changes were happening too fast.

Anyhow, being a positive kitty that I am, I decided to make the best out of it. I suddenly realised that this unfortunate event has opened new places for me to explore, places where I could never reach before. So explore I went. Dad followed me everywhere and didn't let me do some fun stuff I really intended to do, but meh, I still got the most out of it.

After a couple of hours, Dad received a phone call from Mom and he decided to put me into my carriage. Yea, that carriage was the only thing that was left besides a few meaningless bags. I know what follows that carriage, yes, that menacing car. And then they generally take me to the vet. I was feeling well enough, so I wasn't sure why he would take me to vet now. Oh wait, if not vet, then, then... it must be cat hotel. OH NOES!!! I had to stop this from happening. So I started crying. Dad tried to pacify me, but I knew I couldn't go weak here. I had to shout out of my lungs, I had to give my best whinging performance. But you know, that Dad of mine, he is a real smart fella. He knows every ins and outs of me. You know what he did? He called my mom and put her on the car's audio speakers. Now, how can a kitty not calm down listening to the sweet soothing voice of Mommy? I was feeling better, I was feeling reassured. She told me that she is waiting for me at the new place and how I would have so many windows to watch from; and above all, how the cutest, the best and a brave kitty I am. So all was good and I was also told that the journey will end soon.

So eventually the car stopped at this new place. And Dad took me inside. I was careful to inspect every room, every sound, every new smell. Then there was this new thing. It was like a cat tree, which Mom and Dad called stairs. I was very curious but as always careful. So I slowly climbed those stairs and went up there. Trust me, it was AWESOME! It was love at first sight :)

Now It has been a week and all my toys and cherished stuffs are back. They are not in the same place, but I like the new setting. And climbing stairs up and down is fun as. Mom and Dad always told me that they love double storey houses and seeing me going up and down the stairs in one such place one day would be the cutest thing to watch. Let's just say, they were damn right. I love them. :)

Snooze, Sniff and Snoop

My Papa is a gamer. He plays a lot.

Now... Being the curious kitty that I am- naturally, I needed to 'snoopervise' his 'gaming things'... Anyone would want that- right?

First I gave it a sniff, then a bite- and even then, the XBOX controller was no more interesting than a 'wall clock' is [can somebody explain why humans find wall clocks so interesting? Humans are rather silly, aren't they?]. Why would someone want to play with that thing is something my kitty head cannot figure out!

Anyway, in the end, I decided to ignore it and snooze a little. *Yawn*.

Humans *nods head*...! Who knows what goes on in their heads!

Busy Body

Oh kitties... I am so busy these days....!!!

My humans are home these days- and there's so much to do!!!

I'm playing playing playing like there's no tomorrow....

Also,

1. I am now the humans' official alarm clock.

2. I am also their lap warmer.

3. And their groomer.

I guess I'm just very happy that they decided to stay at home with me in this holiday... instead of taking a stupid vacation!

Now they know how much better this option actually is! About time too.

It's my Gotcha Day!

So... it has now been two whole years that I have been with my humans; impressive.

Now two years may not seem long but I am a two-year-old kitty, so basically that's my WHOLE life! Hey, that's the longest time I have ever seen!

Anyway- it's been a quiet day at our house. Much like my humans, I also like celebrating special days without too much fuss- just acknowledging and doing something special in the family...

... and I sure am glad that some kitties remembered. Thank you.

I sure am a lucky kitty to have kitty buddies like you!

What's wrong with napping a lot?

Nothing, I say.

After all, I'm not a human that I need to have a 'day-job' for some useless green papers that does not even taste good!

When I hunt, I hunt for pleasure- because that is what life is all about after all... PLEASURE!

Well, we cats know what is REALLY important in life... and those smelly green papers are not in that list.

Tell that to a human though, and they'll smile smugly... like we cats don't know a thing about real life!

So... they get to go hunting and we get to have our 'pleasures' served to us on a grand silver tray.

Who do you reckon is smarter? Cats or Humans?

It is not even a 'trick' question!

Now, if you'll excuse me- I'll get back to what I was doing.

The humans say I still look like a kitten... and I say I don’t.... ‘cause kittens don’t look like I do now, kittens look like I did when this video was made... on my FIRST day with the humans!

I could finally get my mummy to write a blog-post for me.

I have not been blogging much, but its all mummy’s fault... actually pappy’s too- but at least he is consistent- he never writes anyway!

Today, I put my paws DOWN... I wanted a blog-post!

To make my point, I took plenty of catnaps...

What? Only a human will say that catnaps don’t *really* make a point...

Well... they do make! If they did not- why do you think there is a blog-post today all of a sudden?

Routine stuff, they say.... But then the vet shaved my furs a little bit more and stole my blood... Yes, AGAIN!

I say, every cat is different... just like every human is and every woofie is...

I would say it is wiser to not generalize... cats, humans or woofies.

One of the features on 'individuality' is that is can never be fully predicted.

No Magpies on the Bird TV this weekend!

This weekend, I am just hanging out on my cat tree. The weather has been pretty good and there were plenty on in the Bird TV (for the non-cat readers: I think you call it a Window)too- and I am having a fantabulous time!

It's not as boring as it sounds, trust me.

PS: Can you see my shaved 'arms' in the photo? Yes, the drip and the blood test and all that stuff last month had called for many 'shaves' on this little body. I am better now and my furs are growing back too... but not fast enough!

Guess what, kitties... My humans got paid back from the insurance company, they are not all that 'broke' anymore... however, guess what they did first thing as soon as they... umm... stopped being broke?

They bought this!!

Meows about my recent Cholangiohepatitis

Remember me, kitties? I know... I have not been here much, but I have a legit excuse- I went and got sick... I mean- even sicker than the last time I blogged!

Well, as you know- my Pancreatitis was back... and a few days later- when the vet did an ultrasound on me- she saw something in my liver too... as it turns out- I had Cholangiohepatitis, too- initial stage (phew!), as the vet suspects- and it often follows Pancreatitis, so I'd say that is what happened to me.

Right now- I'm better; even though we are still waiting for my second bloodworks results...

I'm sorry if you have been worried by my absense- Mummy was too busy (and possibly too sad, too) to help me blog... She kept writing in hers though... from time to time. She does have very twisted priorities sometimes, I tell you!

However... if you are worried about me in the future while I am not posting for a long time... and would like to know if I am doing alright, you can have a peep here- chances are, you will know... just a suggestion!

Little meows about Pet Insurance

Kitties, do you know what an ultra-sound is? I need to get one done on Thursday. Did you know that an ultrasound on kitties costs about A$600... and that drip that was given to me lately, costed another A$400... Mama says it is only a small cost, because what is most important to her is that I am healthy and well.

My humans seem rather smug about the fact that they had taken up the ‘Pet Insurance’ for me; otherwise- these costs would have still incurred, but it would have been much more difficult for my humans to get by... Just to satisfy my kitty curiosity- what about you kitties though? Do you have a health insurance, too?

If you are interested to know or considering it- my insurance costs my humans a A$34 a month which is A$408 a year and includes treatment costs up to A$12,000 in a year- including routine check-ups, costs of ‘revolution’, vaccination (A$70 a year) and grooming. They pay for the expenses using their card and the insurance company reimburses them in a few weeks. Mama will be happy to advise if your humans are considering taking one up for you- she only knows about Australian options, but is eager to help if you’d need advise...

I hear their card expenses are EXPLODING LOUDLY till the insurance company pays them back in a few weeks, but it is a ‘temporary’ thing and you kitties need not worry... phew!

On a related note- those green papers seem powerful; I have a feeling that those not exactly the kinds of papers kitties ‘play’ with... or do they? Have any of you kitties played with these green papers and want to share the story?

Home, Sweet Home

Guess what, kitties-

I’M HOME FROM THE CLINIC!!!

I don’t look perfect- I have many patches of furs missing from my front leg and my throat- where they gave me the drip and drew my blood from; I am nowhere near ‘healed’ either... the pancreatitis is still there...

... but I am so happy to be home; and mama still thinks I'm very very handsome.

There are many vet visits in the coming few weeks, an ultrasound test too... but at the moment- it does not matter all that much because right now- I sure am happy to be back home!

Are we there yet?

I am still at the clinic, and more of my furs got shaved off- first for the drip and then for even more blood tests. There should be a law against humans for stealing kitty blood, don't you think?

Why'd they want to steal blood anyway? What do you reckon they do with the blood?

Anyway, as I was saying- I am still at the clinic... and I hear they'll steal my blood at least once more... to see if my electrolytes are restored; if not- I stay in the clinic tonight... and if yes, I get to go home!

.... fingers, paws and toesies crossed that my test results tell them to let me go home.... Meow!

Hello my friends, if you follow my mama’s blog- then you already know that my test result has shown ‘a positive’ for Pancreatitis... a case in which I apologise for repeating myself.

And, in case you did not know it already- well... I just told you, didn't I? Meeheehee... howzat!?

Well... there is nothing much to do at the moment really, just some Vitamin B’s and some antibiotics and let my body heal itself... and since the blood tests showed that I was short on electrolytes too, I am to stay in the hospital for the night... they are putting me on drip.

This is basically it for the moment.

However, if you would like to know about Pancreatitis- you can see this post in my blog... Mama had made it last year when I was diagnosed with Pancreatitis for the first time.

And while we are at it..... keep those purr machines on for me, will ya?

Stupid Hairballs...

Well... in the last 2 weeks, I puked four times- and ALL the times wretched hairballs kept popping out. Let me tell you kitties... being a cute and floofy kitten does not come by without a cost! Our kind needs a LOT of grooming- resulting in a lot of hairballs inside our tummies and hairballs are plain and simple annoying!

Mama, however, is overreacting as usual; and if you know her at all you’ll know one thing- she fusses, and is slightly paranoid... hence, off I was taken into that horrible carrier and the even more horrible metallic silver thing that Papa ‘drives’ (translation for the human readers: a car)... to the horrible vet place where they shaved some furs off my neck and stole my blood... and I came back home an hour later smelling of those stupid ‘disinfectants’!

It keeps getting worse, doesn’t it?

As it turns out- the vet lady (her name is Alexandra) wants to be sure that my ‘pancreatitis’ is not back... she said it’s a little ‘tricky’ as ‘I have a history’... hence the whole irritating chapter of ‘shaving’ and ‘blood stealing’...

The blood works results come out on Wednesday... we’ll see how it goes- I’m purring and so are the humans, in their own way. You guys purr for me too, okay? I really don’t like medicines, vets or pain- so I am guessing it’s easiest to go with the theory that hairballs are just that: stupid hairballs.

Do you know how cold it is these days, kitties?

Agreed, today wasn't so bad... it was sunny all morning and there were many magpies to watch; but as the night falls and the sun goes to sleep, the temperature again starts to fall. That is what is happening at this very moment. Bleh!

I’m pretty happy that we have a room heater that keeps us so warm. Sometimes if you are inside the house you cannot imagine at all how cold the outside is! Not that I’m complaining- I quite like the fact that no one can tell.

That probably means that this room heater you see in the picture, is my friend! It keeps me so warm and toasty!

Anyway... happy winter you all. I can’t wait for this winter to be over, but hey... it doesn’t mean we cannot be HAPPY in Winter!

Christmas in July 2010

For this year’s Christmas in July, I was paired up with The Island Cats- the wonderful trio of Ernie, Wally and Zoey!

I know I know.... I am so late in posting- my mommy had put all my new gifts away as I had the flu and she did not want to ‘germ’ my new toys, she does get a little too paranoid at times- but hey, I GOT THEM ALL NOW... AND I AM SUCH A HAPPY CAT!!!!!

See how all my Christmas gift toys are all laid out? Lots of stuff! Do you see them all, kitties? All? My black-and-white mousie with feather tail, a pink 'chhick chhick mousie', many ballsies, ting-tong spring toy... all? I'm having a PAR-TAY, am I not? Come play with me!

I like my pressies very very much.... yes purry very much.... and that pink ‘chhick chick mousie’ is my best friend these days... and inside that cube is the best place in this WHOLE UNIVERSE, I swear!

I know, I know... the subject line says 'July', whereas as of today that is 'last month', but my parents were away and I was in a pet hotel- and we did not get to give out my July's happy cat award... so here we go, late- true; but better late than never!

Anyway, since we all (Mama, Papa and I) were away last month- we decided we will not be tagging anyone in particular for this award. Sherkhan is back!!!!!

Hello my friends! Hope you all have been well. I have been, too; at least most of the time.

My humans were away for a long time and I stayed in a cat hotel during that time. Mama called the hotel every alternate day to check on me and the nice nurse told her more than once that I was a ‘beautiful little boy’. Someone needs to be reminded that I am now a year and 9 months old, I’m NOT little... but of course, Mama was happy and I can’t complain- I guess I AM sorta beautiful...

And just a few days before my humans got me home, I got ‘cat flu’. And let me tell you- it is a fatiguing, mind-blocking menace and it makes you sneeze and cough! It was so bad, I slept with all my floof in complete disarray ALL DAY! I poured my love on Mama though... and Mama cried more than once too. I guess she was all-guilty for leaving me in a cat hotel for so many weeks!!!

Here is a photo of a sickly me, sleeping on Mama's shoulders.

Happy to report that I am all better now; YAAY! I had my last dose of the antibiotics yesterday, so I guess for some time at least my humans will not have to force those down my throat! Not ONE of us like this activity!

Okay... so let’s see what I have missed posting...

I know! July’s Happy Cat Award! But worry not, my kitty friends- I shall post it soon... maybe tomorrow?!?!

Also- I got my lovely Christmas gifts from The Island Cats! I have participated for Christmas in July, you see? I got loads and loads of gifts that is driving my kitty head crazy with excitement, I LOVE THEM ALL!!!!! I will post the pics in the next few days as well!

... but a big THANKS to The Island Cats, I absolutely LOVE the gifts!!!!
