Christine & Jeremy's E-Session at Allaire Village

Christine & Jeremy's E-session was this past saturday at Allaire Village. This was the first time I was there. Very Very cute village. I definitly plan on shooting there again. Christine & Jeremy were such a breeze to shoot and they were so cute together! I can't wait for their wedding.

I wanted to do something a little different with this shoot so I had decided to bring along my black arm chair to use as a prop. Poor Christine & Jeremy had to help me carry around my black chair and step stool cause I didn't have an assistant with me. They were such great sports though, they are AWESOME. Aside from the annoyance of carring it around. It made for a great prop. Especially around that area.

I feel like I have not blogged in weeks! I have been swamped with 3 Weddings, and 5 sessions to edit. Keeping busy!

I just wanted to stop by my blog and say Hello to everyone.

Staying focused and getting a crazy amount of things done.

It feels great!

& I wanted to take a brief moment before I forget to mention the first EVER Portrait Marathon Day on July 11, 2009. More details will follow shortly so keep checking back

Sarah & Dave's Newport RI Wedding

First I have to say I LOVE Newport Rhode Island. Such a cute little town by the marina. We arrived Sunday afternoon, the day of the wedding. As I was driving through all I was thinking about was the AMAZING photos that we were going to take around town. I literally could have photographed all day with them. Today I was meeting the bride and groom for the first time. This is usually the case when the client lives out of state or the wedding is out of state. So I was really excited to meet Sarah & Dave. I showed up to the location about an hour prior to the ceremony so I can photograph some of the details before everyone had arrived. The morning was promising. Sunshine and blue sky. But as the day went on that slowly changed in to cloudy rainy/stormy looking skies. The ceremony was set up outside on the marina, but as we got close to start time the staff decided to move it in to the tent because it started to drizzle. But I was able to get some shots of the setup before they took it in. Then Sarah arrived. She looked awesome. Smiling and ready to be married. and then the REST is history as they say! The ceremony was a quick one. Then the decision time came, do we hurry and get some shots outside before it really starts pouring or just work in side. I was not about to shoot in a tent when we had such a fun town to run around and shoot in. & thankfully neither were Sarah & Dave. They were all for getting as much as we could before we were rained out. We took a quick few minutes and photographed. We didn't get to far before it started to drizzle a little more so we had to hurry back to the wedding location. It was just enough time for me to get some great shots. & Sarah and Dave were such a breeze to shoot everything went so smoothly and quickly! In our adventure I spotted a VESPA, that I wanted to steal so BAD for some photos, but that sucker was locked up behind a fence. :(. You better believe if it was in the open we would have photographed with it. ha ha. As the night went on and photographs were snapped by guests and me, I had to slip away and take advantage of the amazing setting off side to the marina. Thats the photo you see of the sailboat all lit up. Oh how I love this shot. I quickly had to run and get the bride and groom to include them in this amazing shot, but they were dancing. So I waited. And just 5 minutes to late when we went to go shoot the photo the skies had already changed. That's okay becuase just about a half hour earlier we got a great shot of them on the Yacht just off the marina from the deck of the wedding location. During the night the bride Sarah had shared a special dance with her grandfather in memory of her grandmother. Such a special moment they shared together. Moments like this always bring tears to my eyes. All in all everything was so great. Stormy skies are not holding me back!! The next day me and my husband explored the little town we were in taking some photos, shopping a little, and enjoying that almost every passerby had a dog with them. I would definitly go again for a weekender. Love this place!!

Melissa's Senior Session

This is actually my first time shooting AROUND redbank. Been there a hundred times but it suddenly became all different when I photographed there. ha ha.

Cathy & Tim are another favorite wedding client of mine. Such a sweet couple. & the family is just as sweet.

A day that started off foggy turned out to be a beautiful sunshine day. PERFECT for an outdoor ceremony.

Darnley's Senior Session

This past weekend I had a graduate session with Darnley. The weather was kind of chilly and windy, but we made the best of it and I got to shoot at one of my favorite locations.

Creative Senior Portraits I can't say it enough are definitely one my favorite things to shoot.

The Metropolitan Museum

Yesterday me, Wylan,my sister & 2 NY city virgins- went to New York to Visit the Metropolitan Museum. The 2 NY city virgins have NEVER been to New york city EVER. So they were super excited, they hailed cabs and all, It was great. I haven't been the the Met in many many years. History was always a favorite subject for me in school, so it was really awesome to see so many artifacts. The next step will be the museum of Natural History.

I was very fortunate that they allowed photography through most of the museum, but flash was not allowed at all. I didn't get to photograph the fashion exhibit they had going on which was really cool. But I was allowed to photograph the sculpture they had up on the roof.

We had fun and as always I loved being in NY.

I decided to just shoot with my D200, 11 mm Wide angle lens, Hi-Iso's , and no flash all day.

This last photo is a particular favorite because as we were driving through time square i look over and there my last name is. I couldn't get my camera out fast enough. ha-ha.

So when I find something I love I MUST SHARE.

Back in March I was in search of some vintage style headbands when I came across House of Telsa on Etsy.com. Etsy is one of my favorite sites. Amazing hand crafted every-things.

I waited about 6 weeks for these headbands to come in. They are handmade. & Perfect. Worth the wait. I absolutely love these headbands. I ordered three of them. I only have the two photographed right now.

Allan & Estrella's E-Session

Shooting at the Eastern State Penitentiary Was SUCH a GREAT TIME.

It was interesting as we were guided through the different areas we were photographing in because we got a brief history of the place, and the cells and little interesting tidbits like 12 Monkeys was filmed there, which now I have to re-watch to remember it & Transformers II will be filmed there. Our Guide was REALLY REALLY COOL, and she let us go into some restricted areas that normally we would not be allowed in, which was SWEET. We ended up shooting for an hour and a half! I could have photographed there all day really. ha. I would love to photograph there again.& WOULD LOVE to photograph a trash the dress session here. Thankfully we had such great weather. Not that it mattered to much because we were inside most of the time, but it was nice having the natural light shine through an

y cracks, holes, and windows in the place.

I had such a great time with Alan & Estrella and I really look forward to their wedding this August.

O' I forgot to mention my favorite part of this day. After the shoot we went to a diner in Cherry Hill, and I had the MOST amazing French Toast EVER. it was Drizzled in Caramel, syrup and Confectioners sugar. I have been completely ruined for any other french toasts to come!

Eastern State Penitentiary in Philly

Sad that we only have an hour to shoot because they charge per hour to shoot on premiss, but non the less very excited.

At My Desk

So this is what I see when I sit down at my desk.

Half of my office, and the other half blocked by my screen with a photo of my office couch on it.

I'm not quite sure why I have the photo of my couch in my office as my background for my monitor other than I really liked the shot when I took it.

My Images from my old office design are sitting on the floor. My walls are bare aside from the TV you see and a light switch because I am having the hardest time choosing the new images for my walls.

But every-time I sit down at this desk and see this view I think to myself how much I love what I do. Not saying that a nice view of the Kauai Mountains wouldn't be better - ha ha- But I still enjoy going to work everyday and seeing this.

Today started out looking so so. I had been watching the weather report all week HOPING it would change.

I had an E-session scheduled for 3 pm on the beach and downtown. & All I could hope for was that the rain would stop. & IT DID. JUST IN TIME.

I was so happy to see the clouds break to give way to some blue skies.

My client today is a good photographer friend of mine. When he approached me about a month ago to do his engagement photos I was so happy to hear he was engaged and that he wanted me to shoot his e-session. I couldn't wait.

They both wanted a little beach and a little downtown. I knew the perfect place!! Asbury! Funny thing about shooting in Asbury today. I have been shooting in Asbury now for about 3 yrs. & I have never ever seen any other photographers shoot there. & today must have been photographer day because we ran in to 5 photographers doing shoots around Asbury. One of them being my friend Rich Schaub shooting a wedding. It was so fun to see everyone!!

As the day went on the sun got brighter and skies got bluer. Unfortunately by the time the setting was PERFECT Tom & Jen had to go. BUT we had gotten so many great shots by then so it was okay. I had FINALLY gotten to use this old red phone booth that I have been wanting to use for 2 years now, but I ALWAYS forgot about it.

& It was zombie day in asbury- ha. So there were a few dressed up zombie's around. Asbury keeps things interesting!

About 2 months ago I had such a great time photographing the little ballerina's from Perfect Pointe Studio. Jessica Scuzs the owner and director had emailed me asking for some of the images so she can use them on her website. I had completely forgotten about that until today. To my pleasant surprise when I checked out the website there were my images used as headers to her different tabs!! Even though I knew she asked for these photos I had totally forgotten about it. I was excited to see them there!!

Aaron 2oo9 Senior

This Past weekend was Aaron's Creative Senior Session. WHAT A FABULOUS weekend to be shooting!
Aaron is in track so we decided to incorporate that into his shoot. Then it was off to asbury for some chill photos Except Asbury was FREEZINGG- it felt like a good 25 degrees cooler because of the off shore breeze. We did not last very long in Asbury. ha-ha.

Any Football, Soccer stars or any of you in the surf clubs in Manasquan out there that would like to get their Senior Portraits done let me know I would love to work with you!

Phila- E-session-2nd Shooter

Yesterday a friend of mine - Rob Nicholson-had asked for a 2nd shooter for his E-session in Philadelphia.

So I had volunteered.

Philadelphia is not an area I am usually in. So it was fun to have the different scenery.

We had a great time, lots of laughs, and great shots.

It's great when photographers get together and work with each other. It is so different from what it used to be a few years ago when everyone kept everything a secret cause everyone else was the arch nemesis. ha ha-

I have met a lot of great people and photographers when there's get togethers.

Before we had all met up I took a few minutes and took some random shots. So the first few images you see here are randomness. ha
