My nephew's wife suggested that I watch this documentary, so I did. Simple as that. I hadn't seen the trailer or any of the marketing. I sat down to watch this documentary with as a blank slate. I had no idea what I was about to watch.

Now that I've seen the movie, the trailer, and have read all the debates, I am glad I didn't go looking for reviews before I sat down to view this compelling documentary.

That being said.. there will be spoiler's in this review.

Here is the description of the movie from Netflix:

Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman document the strange series of events that unfolds when a gifted 8-year-old artist named Abby contacts Nev, a 24-year-old photographer (and Schulman's brother), through Facebook. After Abby sends Nev a remarkable painting based on one of his photos, Nev begins corresponding with her family -- including her seductive 19-year-old sister. Realizing that something's not quite right, Nev sets out to uncover the truth.

At the beginning of this documentary, as Netflix states, an 8-year-old artist named Abby contacts Nev on Facebook and sends him a gorgeous painting based on a photo he had taken that was published in a newspaper. They become friends. He sends her photos that he has taken, she paints them and sends them back to him. She also begins to send him paintings she has done of her family as well as one she done of his Facebook profile photo. He naturally assumes this child is a prodigy. He replies to her messages, and encourages her with her painting.

His roommates, intrigued by Abby, began filming the budding friendship for a documentary.

Eventually, Nev becomes Facebook friends with her entire family and even chats with them on the phone. He then finds himself in a more serious phone, Facebook, and text friendship with Abby's older sister Megan which quickly develops into more than a friendship. More along the lines of a real long-distance relationship. Nev begins to develop feelings for Megan and says that if the chemistry is the same when they meet in person, they would be in an instant relationship.

The whole family appears to be friendly and talent to Nev and he seems thrilled to know them. The Mom is fantastic because she juggles these talented kids and the struggles of every day life. Abby is a fantastic painter with a new gallery opening up and Megan is a dancer, a model, and musician.

One night Nev and his roommates are listening to music uploaded on Megan's Facebook page that she has recorded. They love the music, but one song seems familiar and they begin to search for it online to see why it seems familiar. They find the same song by a different artist online. It sounds eerily similar. As they listen to the song, Megan offers to take requests for other songs. They ask her to sing another, which she does. Then after they listen to it, they begin to search for it online as well and find the exact song on Youtube. Nev is utterly confused and can't figure out why she would lie to him. Why would she say she is singing these songs?

Nev and his roommates are traveling close to Michigan for a job and decided to stop by Megan's home and surprise her. Not only to meet her but to find out what is the truth and what all she has lied to him about. But they remember that her horse is about to give birth and she is at the farm. They decide to stop by the farm first. When they arrive, the place looks deserted so they open the mailbox and inside are some postcards Nev has mailed to her in the past. They become very suspicious, pull into the drive and look into the barn. There are no horses, and no one around.

After finding she had once again lied to Nev, they decide to go her home. Nev just wants the truth. When they arrive at her home, she isn't there, but her mother comes to the door. Nev is shocked as the Mom, Angela, looks nothing like her Facebook photo. Then Vince, the Dad, comes around the corner and he doesn't look like the photo either. Angela calls Megan and tries to get her to come home because Nev has came to see her. Abby isn't at home either. She is at a friends house. Nev begins to figure out that something is bad wrong with the whole situation. But Angela offers to take him to pick up Abby.

They arrive at Abby's friends home and he meets Abby and her friend. When he asks them questions about Abby's older sister Megan, they agree she has one, but they have never met her. So he proceeds to ask Abby about her art. She looks very confused and says that she doesn't paint much, but her mother does.

Nev is confused. Angela has been doing the paintings... including the one of him. Megan is away, and Angela's reactions to him confirm that she is in love with him. Angela the mom, who looks nothing like her photo, who paints and claims her daughter does is in love with him. So is she pretending to be Megan? Is Megan even real? He has to confront her.

Nev confronts Angela, and she openly admits that she played the role of all the family on Facebook. She has him pose for a painting as they talk. She blushes, she cries, and as she talks to him in Megan's voice, you can see the pain in his eyes. She tries to explain that everyone she portrayed was a part of her. You can tell that both of their hearts are breaking, yet she continues to lie and say that Megan exists but is in rehab because she is an alcoholic. When she doesn't exist at all.

Angela asks Nev what he is thinking, he simply says he wants to go home. He is exhausted.

In the end, Angela eventually sends Nev the painting of himself that she had him sit for as they talked and they remain friends on Facebook even now.

The documentary was so gripping and leaves you feeling so many emotions at once. I felt so nervous and anxious for Nev as he was finding out he had been lied to. You know he had to be hurt, his heart breaking, as he was in love. Yet, he remained mild mannered, nice, and forgiving.

I know many people say the documentary couldn't possibly be true, but either way, it was worth my time, fiction or not. I was left on the edge of my seat.

My heart broke for Nev as he learned the one he loved wasn't real and he had been lied to. My heart broke for Angela as she obviously loved him and knew that he loved her, but not the real her, only the her she pretended to be. Probably knowing he could never love the real her now even if she confessed to everything.

Why would she pretend to be a child when she originally sent the painting? Did she think he wouldn't appreciate the art unless it had been done by a child? Why did she chose to paint his photos? Was she in awe of the photo itself and fell in love with the photographer later or had she seen him and the motive was to entice him all along?

I can understand how he could be duped as the lies she created were so believable and so well played out. I felt for him. I was mad at her, felt sorry for her, and could understand her at the same time.

She is in a situation where she is raising two handicapped children that aren't biologically hers. She has so much weight on her taking care of them. She probably never realized what she was getting into when she married her husband.

Maybe she never intended to seduce Nev or to fall for him, but it happened. And when it did, why didn't she come clean right then and there? Was she already so far in love she couldn't confess her lies and tell him the truth due to the fear of rejection?

Had she told him the truth without him having to find it out the way he did, would he have still loved her? Knowing she was older and not the person in the photo. Would he have even given her a second glance? Probably not. As this is a very materialistic world we live in. This makes me as angry at him as I am at her. Yet I can't not feel sorry for both of them as their hearts are shattered.

Crave
by J.R. Ward
October 2010

Seven deadly sins. Seven souls that must be saved. One more no-holds- barred battle between a fallen angel with a hardened heart and a demon with everything to lose. Isaac Rothe is a black ops soldier with a dark past and a grim future. The target of an assassin, he finds himself behind bars, his fate in the hands of his gorgeous public defender Grier Childe. His hot attraction to her can only lead to trouble-and that's before Jim Heron tells him his soul is in danger. Caught up in a wicked game with the demon who shadows Jim, Isaac must decide whether the soldier in him can believe that true love is the ultimate weapon against evil.

Summary found HERE.
Back in May, I purchased Crave at the local vendors mall for $2.00. I purchased Covet that same day. You can read my review of Covet, HERE.

After finishing up Covet, I jumped straight into reading Crave. I read maybe fifty pages I honestly did not think I would be able to make myself finish the book. I walked away and read Fighting the Devil.

A few days ago I saw Crave laying on the kitchen table and convinced myself to give it another chance, and boy am I glad I did. Ward really knocked it out of the park on this one. I couldn't lay it down. I've had three very late nights and lots of reading in the car, but I finished Crave at this morning around 3 am.

Crave is not only a fantasy book about angels and demons. It is a nail-biting action adventure mixed with a STEAMING hot romance.

Ward continued her normal pattern with lots of jumping back and forth between this person and that person. However with this series I don't mind it at all. Very much unlike The Black Daggar Brotherhood series; I actually enjoy the angel/demon battle. Both story-lines in this series are worth reading and leave you wondering what will happen next. The use of slang words still bugs me though.

I am excited for the next book. Who will win, who will lose, and who will fall in love? I can not wait!
My favorite quote from Crave:

His eyes were the color of frost on window glass , and filled with the shadows of deeds that stained the soul.
I give Ward, Four Hearts for Crave.
Less than half an hour later, he was deathly ill, with stomach pains, severe vomiting and intense intestinal distress. Three weeks later, he was dead from a mysterious illness. His wife seemed to show no emotion when she learned of his death. However, his bookkeeper became very nervous upon hearing the news, and ran through the hospital corridor to the nearest elevator.

The Texas millionaire rancher discovered his wife and bookkeeper had stolen thousands of dollars from him. After he demanded the money back, he started getting sick. While in the hospital, doctors were mystified as to how an otherwise healthy, energetic man could become so deathly ill. The dying man told everyone within earshot that his wife and bookkeeper were killing him. The man's wife said her husband was hallucinating from drugs the doctors were giving him. The millionaire rancher succumbed in the hospital while strapped down to his bed with restraints on his hands and feet and tubes in every orifice.

After the rancher died, an anonymous caller tipped off the police. The widow was the sole beneficiary of the estate and a $350,000 life insurance policy.

A week before the man's death, a teenager visited the rancher's home and became deathly ill after he drank juice that was in the rancher's refrigerator.

Two years after the millionaire's death, a bottle of arsenic was found in a storage locker rented by a woman under an assumed name.

The millionaire's ex-wife, the mother of his children, became a sleuth to help solve the murder. No one could have predicted the aftermath with its strange twists and unexpected results.

My debut novel and true crime story is the FINALIST of the 2011 National Indie Excellence Awards in True Crime. It is also ForeWord Magazine's Book of the Year Finalist in True Crime. "Fighting the Devil" is a horrifying true story of deadly deceit and the cold-blooded murder of my ex-husband, a Texas millionaire. I wrote the book to speak for my ex-husband, as he no longer has a voice. I am the mother of his only children.
When you get a chance, I hope you will check it out.
Sending best wishes for success in all your endeavors. :-)
God bless you always,
Sincerely,
Jeannie Walker
Ms. Walker was kind enough to gift me a copy of her book, Fighting the Devil: A True Story of Consuming Passion, Deadly Poison, and Murder {Kindle Edition}.

As I sat down to read Ms. Walker's book I didn't know what to expect. Normally True Crime is not a genre that I would choose on my own, but Ms. Walker asked me to check it out, and I am glad I did. Turning the pages of Ms. Walker's book was smooth and easy. It was as if I were listening to a friend tell the story over lunch. I believe this is what makes the book special. It draws you in, and you can't put it down.

T. Schneider, an Amazon Reviewer says it perfectly...

It does not read like a novel but more of recounting from memory - a step by step telling of events, adding legal evidence and back story as necessary. It is obviously amateur but also intriguing, especially if one is interested in the journey from crime to punishment in a "Law and Order" kind of way but given from a lay-person point of view.

As you read Ms. Walker's gut-wrenching novel you quickly see that she not only tells the tale of the horrific murder of her ex-husband and what happens thereafter, but tells the story of her life as a single mother; the ex-wife of a hard-hearted man who is now married to a monster. Ms. Walker shows amazing strength and hands out amounts of forgiveness, I am not sure I would ever be able to give.

If you haven't had a chance to read Fighting the Devil, make time for it. You won't regret it.

I give Ms. Walker, Three Hearts for Fighting the Devil.

I put in the captiva hit post comment and it takes me back to here:

Then that process goes on about 20x until I finally give up and quit.

Now if your blog has the pop out window like this:

I can comment. The google account will work.

It also works when it changes to new page for the comment.

Also if your drop down menu has a place for name/url like this:

I can put in my name and link at least and comment.

So if you have a blog that looks like this

and doesn't have the place for a name/url and aren't getting any comments.. that's why. Change your settings. I wanna comment!

COVET
by J.R. Ward
October 2009

Seven deadly sins. Seven souls to save. This is the first battle between a savior who doesn't believe and a demon with nothing to lose!

Redemption isn't a word Jim Heron knows much about-his specialty is revenge, and to him, sin is all relative. But everything changes when he becomes a fallen angel and is charged with saving the souls of seven people from the seven deadly sins. And failure is not an option.

Vin DiPietro long ago sold his soul to his business, and he's good with that-until fate intervenes in the form of a tough-talking, Harley-riding, self-professed savior. And then he meets a woman who will make him question his destiny, his sanity, and his heart-and he has to work with a fallen angel to win her over and redeem his own soul.

Summary found HERE.
As Michael {the hubby} and I were walking through a local vendor's mall, I saw Covet in paperback on sale for $2.00. I don't normally buy books, even if they are only $2.00. That adds up, eventually. I am too frugal for that. I usually check them out at the library, read them on my phone with a free Kindle App or borrow them from a friend. Since it was written by JR Ward and I have read all of her Black Daggar Brotherhood series, I had to give this one a go. I needed to see how it compared to her others. I had already checked the local library and they didn't have it, so I shelled out the money for this one as well as $2.00 for Crave; the second book in the series. Just in case.

It took me longer than normal to read this book. Not because I wasn't enjoying the book, I actually really liked it. Life has just been crazy. Now that I am finished with Covet, I am eager to start on the next book in the series; Crave.
I didn't find Covet to be as much of a love story as all the Black Dagger Brotherhood books, and no where near as steamy as Zadist and Bella; however it was interesting and easy to read.

I liked the idea of demons in this series more than I do the lessers in the Brotherhood books. In all honesty, I have to make myself read the lesser sections of the Brotherhood series to get back to the Brothers again. Thankfully, I didn't feel that way with this book at all.

Ward was her usual self in this book. Lots of slang and skipping back and forth from this person to that person. I sometimes found myself giggling at these big tough men when they say some of the things they do. In reality, I don't think I have ever met a man who speaks that way; but being far from reality is what it is all about.

I give Ward Four Hearts for Covet. Julia Savage’s weekly poker games are tearing her apart. She’s in love with two of her fellow card players, and much as she’d like to pick and confess her true feelings to one man, she won’t. Not if it means risking the love of the other.

Hunter Miles has wanted Julia for four months, and he’s about to deal a hand she couldn’t see coming. He’s determined to give her a New Year’s Eve celebration she never expected. He’s going to seduce her—in front of his friend and rival for her affections, Jay Baxter. But Jay’s not willing to lay down his cards. He’s going after Julia too, and he’s not above bluffing to get what he wants. Either way, one of them is going to win her over.

Unless they change the rules of the game. If they double up, there’s a chance they can split the pot…

Warning: This book contains two hunky heroes, a heroine worth betting on, sizzling hot three-way action (m/f/m and m/m/f), a whole lot of unexpected fireworks and a New Year’s Eve to remember. "
One week of mind-blowing sex on a beautiful Caribbean island. Of all the business proposals financial tycoon Dominic Saxon has heard, Taylor Steele's is definitely the most tempting. All Taylor wants in return is for Dominic to father her baby. No strings, no commitments…just a mutually satisfying arrangement. Make that very satisfying. For a man with no intention of marrying again, it sounds ideal.

Taylor wants a baby, not a relationship. And sexy, intelligent Dominic seems like a man with perfect genes. Turns out, Dominic has perfect everything. Their “procreation vacation” is a whirlwind of sensual ecstasy. But when it's over, will either of them be able to say goodbye?"
Problem is, Uncle Pip didn’t specify if the bottle brought good luck or bad luck....

BAD LUCK:
Vinnie, of Vincent Plum Bail Bonds, has run up a gambling debt of $786,000 with mobster

Bobby Sunflower and is being held until the cash can be produced. Nobody else will pay to get Vinnie back, leaving it up to Stephanie, office manager Connie, and file clerk Lula to raise the money if they want to save their jobs.

GOOD LUCK:
Being in the business of tracking down people, Stephanie, Lula, and Connie have an advantage in finding Vinnie. If they can rescue him, it will buy them some time to raise the cash.

BAD LUCK:
Finding a safe place to hide Vinnie turns out to be harder than raising $786,000. Vinnie’s messing up local stoner Walter “Moon Man” Dunphy's vibe and making Stephanie question genetics.

GOOD LUCK:
Between a bonds office yard sale that has the entire Burg turning out, a plan that makes Mooner’s Hobbit-Con look sane, and Uncle Pip’s mysterious bottle, they just might raise enough money to save Vinnie and the business from ruin.
BAD LUCK:
Saving Vincent Plum Bail Bonds means Stephanie can keep being a bounty hunter. In Trenton, this involves hunting down a man wanted for polygamy, a Turnpike toilet paper bandit, and a drug dealer with a pet alligator named Mr. Jingles.

GOOD LUCK:
The job of bounty hunter comes with perks in the guise of Trenton’s hottest cop, Joe Morelli, and the dark and dangerous, Ranger. With any luck at all, Uncle Pip’s lucky bottle will have Stephanie getting lucky---the only question is . . . with whom?

Sizzling Sixteen . . . so hot, the pages might spontaneously combust!

Fans of the E! smash hit series The Girls Next Door fell in love with sporty Playboy beauty Kendra Wilkinson’s care- free spirit, infectious laugh, and down-to-earth nature. Now that she’s moved out of the world’s most famous bachelor pad and into her own delightfully chaotic world on Kendra as wife to NFL star Hank Baskett and mother to their newborn son, we’ve watched her hilarious antics as she adjusts to domestic life. But how much do we really know about the fun-loving star? In this humorous and optimistic, sometimes heartbreaking, but always unfailingly honest memoir, Kendra reveals the highs and lows of her extraordinary journey.

She wasn’t always the quintessential girl next door. Before she was a reality television superstar, Hugh Hefner’s girlfriend, or one of the most popular Playboy cover models ever, Kendra was an athletic tomboy whose father walked out on her family when she was a little girl. She grew into a rebellious teenager with a serious drug habit before she quit cold turkey and beat the odds to graduate from a high school that almost didn’t give her a second (or third, or fourth) chance.

Following her rocky teenage years, an out-of-the- blue phone call from Hugh Hefner changed everything. Kendra dishes candidly about life in the Playboy Mansion: the sex, the parties, the show, and even her relationships with her Girls Next Door costars—Hef, Holly, and Bridget. She tells the true story about how she and Hank met and built a relationship in secret while she was still Hef’s girl- friend and a public face of Playboy. Finally, she reflects on the slew of unexpected changes in the short space of a year that have brought her sliding into home from Playboy party girl to wife and mother with a blooming Hollywood career. If you think you’ve seen all of Kendra, think again. She’s only warming up. . . .

In the darkest corners of the night in Caldwell, New York, a conflict like no other rages. Long divided as a terrifying battleground for the vampires and their enemies, the city is home to a band of brothers born to defend their race: the warrior vampires of the Black Dagger Brotherhood.

John Matthew has come a long way since he was found living among humans, his vampire nature unknown to himself and to those around him. After he was taken in by the Brotherhood, no one could guess what his true history was- or his true identity. Indeed, the fallen Brother Darius has returned, but with a different face and a very different destiny. As a vicious personal vendetta takes John into the heart of the war, he will need to call up on both who he is now and who he once was in order to face off against evil incarnate.

Xhex, a symphath assassin, has long steeled herself against the attraction between her and John Matthew. Having already lost one lover to madness, she will not allow the male of worth to fall prey to the darkness of her twisted life. When fate intervenes, however, the two discover that love, like destiny, is inevitable between soul mates.

Plot description from the author's website, you can find more information about the book on there as well.

The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner is a companion novella to the Twilight series by author Stephenie Meyer. It is the story of a newborn vampire, Bree Tanner, who is featured in the third book of the series, Eclipse. It is written from the viewpoint of Bree, as opposed to the rest of the series which is predominantly narrated by character Bella Swan.

The story begins with Bree and Diego hunting for human blood in Seattle, Washington. Bree has been a vampire for three months, and Diego has been one for eleven months. Together they kill and eat a pimp, two prostitutes, and two winos. Bree and Diego talk about "her" (Victoria) and why it's strange that she's turning so many people, including themselves, into vampires. Diego thinks something is coming, and "she" is using them as protection. By dawn they realize the house they share with various other newborn vampires has burned down. They hide in a cave and discuss their human lives, and how Riley came to offer them a second life as a vampire. Together they deduce that Riley wants pawns for protection, and he might be lying to them. They also discover that sunlight wont kill a vampire, but that it makes their skin sparkles. They decide to be "best friends forever" and spend the day "playing ninja" looking for Riley and the other vampires they live with. They find that Riley had relocated everyone to a log cabin and Diego gets into a fight with Raoul. That night Bree and Diego stalk Riley, suspicious that he's meeting with "her." They eavesdrop on Riley's conversation with Victoria and then the Volturi show up, angry that Victoria is amassing a vampire army. The Volturi say that if Victoria doesn't attack within five days they'll kill her.
Bree returns to the log cabin and considers running away, while Diego stays behind to talk to Riley. Riley returns to the cabin alone and tells his vampire army that there are older vampires in Seattle (the Cullens) who want to kill them, and if they want to survive they'll have to work together and learn how to fight. Riley tells Bree that Diego is with her and will see her at the fight. After three nights of training Bree and the vampires hunt a ferry boat to eat the passengers and regain their strength for the battle against the elder vampires. Riley then tells everyone that the vampires they'll be fighting have yellow eyes and keep a human (Bella) as a pet. They head off to fight the Cullens. Fred decides to leave before the battle, and Riley retreats telling Bree that Diego has already started fighting with another group. Bree arrives at the battle and realizes the newborn vampires are being killed by the Cullens, and Bree suspects that Diego is dead because she can't sense his presence. She deduces that Victoria and Riley killed Diego for being disobedient. Bree surrenders to the Cullens. They debate whether or not to kill her and decide to take her captive. Bree has trouble resisting the urge to drink Bella's blood. The Volturi show up and interrogate Bree for information. She explains that Riley lied to her and everyone else, and if they didn't do as they were told they would be killed. The book ends with the Volturi executing Bree.
Law enforcement in Appaloosa had once been Virgil Cole and me. Now there was a chief of police and twelve policemen. Our third day back in town, the chief invited us to the office for a talk.

The new chief is Amos Callico: a tall, fat man in a derby hat, wearing a star on his vest and a big pearl-handled Colt inside his coat. An ambitious man with his eye on the governorship—and perhaps the presidency—he wants Cole and Hitch on his side. But they can't be bought, which upsets him mightily.

When Callico begins shaking down local merchants for protection money, those who don't want to play along seek the help of Cole and Hitch. But the guns for hire are thorns in the side of the power-hungry chief. When they are forced to fire on the trigger-happy son of a politically connected landowner, Callico sees his dream begin to crumble. There will be a showdown—but who'll be left standing?
But all the other people in Sookie’s life – Eric himself, her former lover Bill, her friend and boss Sam – are having family problems. Eric’s maker shows up with Eric’s ‘brother’ in tow and the ailing Bill can only be healed by a blood sibling. The furor raised by the coming out of the two-natured has yet to settle; some people are just not ready to sit down to dinner with a man who turns into a dog. And Sookie herself is still recovering from her last ordeal. She’s definitely improving, physically and mentally, but she’s always going to have some dark moments now. The werewolves tell her that there have been strange and ominous passers-by in the Stackhouse woods which are not exactly human. This book explores the family connections of all the main characters including Sookie, Jason, Eric, Bill and even Sam. Sookie especially becomes familiar with her fae relatives even though most of them are out of reach while Eric and Bill meet their vampire siblings

Add a secret ingredient:

Stephanie Plum’s Grandma Mazur. Enough said.

Bring to a boil:

Stephanie Plum is working overtime tracking felons for the bonds office at night and snooping for security expert Carlos Manoso, A.K.A. Ranger, during the day. Can Stephanie hunt down two killers, a traitor, five skips, keep her grandmother out of the sauce, solve Ranger’s problems and not jump his bones?

Warning:

Habanero hot. So good you’ll want seconds.

Turn on all the lights and check under your bed. Things are about to get spooky in Trenton, New Jersey.

According to legend, the Jersey Devil prowls the Pine Barrens and soars above the treetops in the dark of night. As eerie as this might seem, there are things in the Barrens that are even more frightening and dangerous. And there are monkeys. Lots of monkeys.

Wulf Grimoire is a world wanderer and an opportunist who can kill without remorse and disappear like smoke. He's chosen Martin Munch, boy genius, as his new business partner, and he's chosen the Barrens as his new playground.

Munch received his doctorate degree in quantum physics when he was twenty-two. He's now twenty-four, and while his brain is large, his body hasn't made it out of the boys' department at Macy's. Anyone who says good things come in small packages hasn't met Munch. Wulf Grimoire is looking for world domination. Martin Munch would be happy if he could just get a woman naked and tied to a tree.

Bounty hunter Stephanie Plum has Munch on her most-wanted list for failure to appear in court. Plum is the all-American girl stuck in an uncomfortable job, succeeding on luck and tenacity. Usually she gets her man. This time she gets a monkey. She also gets a big guy named Diesel.

Diesel pops in and out of Plum's life like birthday cake - delicious to look at and taste, not especially healthy as a steady diet, gone by the end of the week if not sooner. He's an uber bounty hunter with special skills when it comes to tracking men and pleasing women. He's after Grimoire, and now he's also after Munch. And if truth were told, he wouldn't mind setting Stephanie Plum in his crosshairs.

Diesel and Plum hunt down Munch and Grimoire, following them into the Barrens, surviving cranberry bogs, the Jersey Devil, a hair-raising experience, sand in their underwear, and, of course . . . monkeys.
The Crime: Armed robbery to the tune of nine million dollars

Dom Rizzi robbed a bank, stashed the money and did the time. His family couldn't be more proud. He always was the smart one.

The Cousin: Joe Morelli

Joe Morelli, Dom Rizzi and Dom's sister Loretta are cousins. Morelli is a cop, Rizzi robs banks, and Loretta is a single mother waiting tables at the firehouse. The all American family.

The Complications: Murder, kidnapping, destruction of personal property, and acid reflux

Less than a week after Dom's release from prison, Joe Morelli has shadowy figures breaking into his house and dying in his basement. He's getting threatening messages, Loretta is kidnapped, and Dom is missing.

The Catastrophe: Moonman

Morelli hires Walter "Mooner" Dunphy, stoner and "inventor" turned crime-fighter to protect his house. Morelli can't afford a lot on a cop's salary, and Mooner will work for potatoes.

The Cupcake: Stephanie Plum

Stephanie and Morelli have a long-standing relationship that involves sex, affection and driving each other nuts. She's a bond enforcement agent with more luck than talent, and she's involved in this bank-robbery-gone-bad disaster from day one.

The Crisis:

A favor for Ranger

Security expert Carlos Manoso, street name Ranger, has a job for Stephanie that will involve night-work. Morelli has his own ideas regarding Stephanie's evening activities.

The Conclusion:

Only the fearless should read fourteen.
Thrills, chills and possible incontinence may result.
She's a target for every psycho and miscreant this side of the Jersey Turnpike. Her mother's convinced she'll end up dead...or worse, without a man. She's Stephanie Plum and she kicks butt for a living (well, she thought it would sound good to put it that way...)
It begins as an innocent trip to the deli-mart, on a quest for nachos. But Stephanie Plum and her partner, Lula, are clearly in the wrong place at the wrong time. A robbery leads to an explosion, which leads to the destruction of yet another car. It would be just another day in the life of Stephanie Plum...except that she becomes the target of a gang. And the target of an even scarier, more dangerous force that comes to Trenton. With super bounty hunter Ranger acting more mysteriously than ever (and the tension with vice cop Joe Morelli getting hotter), Stephanie finds herself with a decision to make: how to protect herself and where to hide while on the hunt for a killer known as the Junkman. There's only one safe place, and it has Ranger's name all over it-if she can find it. And if the Junkman doesn't find her first. With Lula riding shotgun and Grandma Mazur on the loose, Stephanie Plum is racing against the clock in her most suspenseful novel yet. Ten Big Ones is page-turning entertainment and Janet Evanovich is the best there is.
Between the adventure and the adversity there's attitude and Stephanie Plum's got plenty in TEN BIG ONES.
