Most of us have learned from its history that cotton is the ideal fabric of choice. But when it comes to buying clothing or manchester many do not live by their word. A true promoter of the fibre will only buy clothing, bedding, and the like that�s originally sourced from the natural plant. But many of us are willing to substitute nature�s luxury thread for today�s modern man made fabrics. This may be due to lower prices and the misconception they are easier to care for.

But is there any validity to their opinions, and has cotton earned its reputation simply because it’s been around longer.  Man made fabrics have only been around for the last century. These fabrics include polyester, nylon rayon and acrylic. These fabrics do have some of its advantages. Polyester in particular was popular for its drip dry quality, not to mention polyester made garments are inexpensive – they don’t call it poor mans cotton for nothing. Polyester has also been known for its durability.  Cotton on the other hand is still the most popular fabric in the world. Its high status is owed mainly to the fact that it absorbs and releases perspiration, allowing the skin to breath. Cotton feels amazing to wear.
