Corporate uniforms have come a long way since the days of the boring bank teller image. No longer does a uniform have to feel like an unflattering piece of clothing most workers loath to wear. They now meet the standards of some of the finest corporate-wear in the marketplace. The term ‘uniform’ should now rather be seen as ‘corporate attire customised to your company’.

Many associate a corporate uniform with the image of a ‘daggy’ receptionist, or an air hostess admired for all the wrong reasons. Now people can compare a uniform to that of a high-end brand name, some of which have even successfully branched out into the corporate uniform market.

Uniforms are now cleverly created to ensure a sound combination of a company’s branding and a highly professional image are portrayed - incorporating a flattering and modern style appealing to many.

High quality shirting, trousers, skirts and suits make up many of the uniforms in large corporations. Usually several styles are developed for men and women, so employees have a selection to choose from. Other common trimmings include, branded cufflinks, ties, scarves, blazers and vests or waistcoats, all coordinated to compliment the uniform range.

Highly sophisticated corporate uniform lines can now be seen everywhere in various company receptions, hotels, accounting and law firms. Even the banks and airlines have some of the most cutting edge designs. They look great, fit company presentation standards, and create aesthetic harmony in the workplace.

Shirt Studio has extended their expertise into the corporate uniform market, offering corporate wardrobe solutions for companies around Australia. Check out our inspiring portfolio of clients that have benefited from some of their professionally custom designed uniforms

Cotton vs Polyester?

Most of us have learned from its history that cotton is the ideal fabric of choice. But when it comes to buying clothing or manchester many do not live by their word.

A true promoter of the fibre will only buy clothing, bedding, and the like thats originally sourced from the natural plant. But many of us are willing to substitute natures luxury thread for todays modern man made fabrics. This may be due to lower prices and the misconception they are easier to care for.

Most of us have learned from its history that cotton is the ideal fabric of choice. But when it comes to buying clothing or manchester many do not live by their word.

A true promoter of the fibre will only buy clothing, bedding, and the like that’s originally sourced from the natural plant. But many of us are willing to substitute nature’s luxury thread for today’s modern man made fabrics. This may be due to lower prices and the misconception they are easier to care for.

Some say these synthetics have even more worthwhile benefits. But is there any validity to their opinions, and has cotton earned its reputation simply because it’s been around longer.

Man made fabrics have only been around for the last century. These fabrics include polyester, nylon rayon and acrylic. These fabrics do have some of its advantages. Polyester in particular was popular for its drip dry quality, not to mention polyester made garments are inexpensive – they don’t call it poor mans cotton for nothing. Polyester has also been known for its durability.

Cotton on the other hand is still the most popular fabric in the world. Its high status is owed mainly to the fact that it absorbs and releases perspiration, allowing the skin to breath. Cotton feels amazing to wear. It is soft and supple and less likely to irritate the skin. It is also very strong with the way its fibres are heavily interlocked for strength.

Other cotton fans will tell you it’s easy to wash and creates quality clothing that if cared for properly will last you a lifetime.

At Shirt Studio we produce all our shirting in 100% cotton. It’s feels incredible on the skin and absorbs and releases sweat to the surface, keeping you cool in summer, while it also absorbing body heat in the winter.

Polyester on the other hand doesn’t allow the skin to breath, keeping the sweat close to the body, which is why you might notice an unpleasant odour when wearing polyester shirts in the warmer climate.

If you’re looking for quality, comfort and a long lasting garment then it seems cotton is the winner. Especially now in the lead up to summer - a fabric that’s feels soft and breathable on the skin is essential.
