I just recently went on the hunt for a good pair of men’s hiking boots, shoes or whatever you call them these days.

Skechers Expressed Theodore (Men’s) – Brown

I just went on a shopping trip to find mens casual footwear. My plan was to find casual shoes of the slip-on variety, lightweight, and neutral in color. What I found was the Mens Skechers Expressed Theodore.

After trying on several sizes, I ended up feeling most comfortable with a pair a half size smaller than I wear.

I was impressed by this because usually sizing skews larger and sometimes I end up a half size larger.

I have to say these are the most comfortable mens shoes I have ever worn, and that’s saying a lot! One of the main features I was looking for was the shoe had to be cushioned which Skechers have done with their Cushioned Relaxed Step Comfort Insole, and after wearing them for a couple of days in a row, they don’t cause my feet to sweat.

The Skechers Theodore was so comfortable and the colours were so cool that I decided to buy two pairs. I just love these casual shoes and recommend them to any guy that wants a comfortable and versatile pair of Skechers which can be worn with jeans, cargo pants, or any kind of casual attire but doesn’t want to wear sneakers or running shoes.

I don’t know about you, but I am totally in favor of anything designed to approximate wearing nothing at all and Vibram Five Fingers Shoes are designed to do exactly that – make you feel as though you’re wearing nothing on your feet.

There is a bit of a debate raging over whether or not the “barefoot” experience offers enough support for running as opposed to the technologically advanced running shoes.

Running shoes, that are the mainstay of the giant manufactures like Nike, Adidas, New Balance, and others, have evolved due to the vast research done on their products in how to protect runners from shock. This trend continues as manufacturers employ new materials which make running shoes lighter, stronger and more cushioned.

Barefoot shoes are a whole different story and are much more minimalist. So do you think the barefoot shoes like the Vibram Five Fingers are a fad, or are they here to stay?

Vibram also states there are certain things to remember when transitioning to the barefoot style of running.

• Run no more than 10% of your typical running distance for the first 2–3 weeks
• After 2–3 weeks, gradually increase mileage by 10%–20% every couple of weeks
• If you ever start to feel pain during a run, stop! You can always try again in a couple of days
• Never run 2 days in a row for the first month
• Stretch before and after each run, focusing on calves and feet, because Vibram FiveFingers running will stimulate these muscles
• If, after several weeks of training, you are consistently very sore, you need to rest and back-off on your mileage

So if you want to take your running to the next level, or get back to your ancient roots – depending on how you view this whole barefoot running concept,
