Once again I do not have it so shoeboxhouse has been a little bit abandoned. Woops!

I can't really say all I wanted to say. I would have liked to post photos from 21sts, Christmas etc. but, since I'm just stealing my friends laptop while I've got the chance, I can't really do that. At the moment I'm sitting in my best friends lounge room in Warrnambool, I'm visiting her for New Years with a fella (yep! first time I've been able to say that in a very fucking long time.. not gonna go too far into it thought 'cause, y'know, it's awkward to do that haha). Hadn't seen her since her birthday at the start of September so the visit was long overdue. Missed her like hell.

Not much else is new. Just been hanging out with Ben, working (getting my hours back, getting them cut, getting them back again blah blah blah) and saving for Europe which is two and a half months away! I really can not believe it's so close. Barker. In Search Of River Phoenix: The Truth Behind The Myth by Barry C. Lawrence.

Lenore graphic novels - I have still only read one volume of these and I'm itching to read more because they were so wonderful and funny and violent. I could always read them online or borrow my cousins but they're so beautiful that I really want my own copies.

A Very She & Him Christmas - this one is all sorted. I asked mum if she could get it for me, she said yes so I offered to order it myself :P should be arriving in the next couple of days! I really cannot wait to get up on Christmas morning and have Zooey Deschanel singing Christmas songs to me all day.

Passport - Mum is also sorting this out but it's actually for my birthday (she would have already ordered it for me but I was way too slack in getting my passport photos taken!) I would really like it to be in my hands by Christmas, though. Just so I feel better about it and can stop worrying.

$$$ - for Europe.

To be honest, that list was pretty hard to come up with because I'm no stressing about what I want right now - I'm stressing about what everyone else wants! I don't actually have that hard a time buying presents since there's not many people I buy for (Mum, Matt, Laura, Tegan and then if I find something I really want to get for somebody else I'll obviously get it) but I always leave it until the last minute and then can't think of anything. I'm planning on doing it all online this year just so I can sit at home and finding something they'll really love. So far I've bought 2 presents: A Cliff Richard movie box set for my Mum... and the exact same thing for my aunty. After this weekend [oh! I forgot to mention - this weekend I'm going to Sydney for 4 days to go to the Harry Potter exhibition! Which is where I'll be finding Tegan a present] I will really knuckle down and start finding some presents!

I've had mixed feelings about everything that's been going on - work, eurotrip, crush. I really don't have any stability in my life right now and it's not good. I used to not care and just accepted whatever happened each day but right now I just want to know where I stand with everything and I want to know what to expect each morning when I wake up. It's too confusing at the moment and I don't know how to deal with everything. Blah.

In other news, last night I celebrated my best friends 21st birthday. It was actually her birthday on Thursday so I went out to lunch with her and gave her a canvas I made with all these photos of the two of us over the past 9 years. Went shopping with her and her mum, hung out in her lounge room. I wish I had photos from last night to show you! It was such a good night. It was Harry Potter themed so there were a few people dressed up and HP decorations everywhere. I gave her another present which was a giant Kurt Cobain figurine which is pretty sweet. I got really drunk and caught up with a lot of people I hadn't seen in a long time (Kempy, Cash, Wilkie, Jason, Caitie, Kyle, Gappo, Nat, Alice). Headed into town briefly but I wasn't having much fun at that point so I just went home.

I still don't know if I'll have a 21st or not. I kind of want to go out for dinner with my family and a few close friends but I don't know if I want a big thing. But I don't want to regret not having one, y'know? I don't know, I just feel like it's not that big of a deal in Australia. Nothing is really going to change. But I did just compile a list of what I want for my birthday hahaha I hate doing that but a friend of mine keeps asking what I want and I like it when people know what they want so.. Just trying to be helpful :P

Today is going to be no exception. Remember last time how I mentioned that my boss told me they 'didn't have any hours' for me anymore? After two and a half weeks of that they called me and asked if I wanted to come back. I danced around the house in my underwear (sorry Louie, you shouldn't have had to witness that) and went back the next day. Got to see my friends again, earn a wage and fill in time so it was amazing. I was back for three weeks and then I get told the same fucking thing. They don't have hours for me. They asked if I wanted to be put 'on-call' which I'm only fine with because I seriously need to save for Europe but now I'm back to job hunting AGAIN.

Whatever.

Onto Harry Potter. Um. Amazing. I went to see DH1 at about 9PM on the 12th then DH2 and 12:10AM. I didn't really get as emotional as I thought I would. I mean, I cried but I wasn't sobbing like I assumed I would be. Most of it absolutely blew me away and I'm so glad there's only a couple of things I didn't like (skipping the Percy reunion, not much focus on some of the deaths etc.) But for the most part I fucking loved it. I went to see it again last week with my mum and.. being emotional the second time would be an understatement. I don't know why it affected me so much more the second time around. But in all honesty I think it was more thinking about the book than the film itself because I didn't cry until we'd left the theater:
Mum: Why did you cry? It wasn't that sad.
Me: He just... *starts crying uncontrollably* LOVED HER SO MUCH!
Mum: What? Who?
Me: SNAAAAAAPE!
And then it went on from there with me telling her every little thing that made me cry (including things like Neville becoming a professor, the fact that it was the last HP logo I'd ever see, etc). Fun times.

Other than work and HP not much else has been going on. Have mainly just been filling my spare time with anything to do with Playboy, stretching my ears (my left lobe is finally finished at 10mm but I can't get the 8mm to go through my right lobe) and hanging out with Brooke, Gabby, Jesse.

And now - the job hunting begins.

Unfortunately. It's been an exhausting/confusing couple of weeks but whatever.

I work for a company which gets contracts from different companies that hire us to do call-center work for them (either inbound or outbound). I was working for Origin Energy, my job was to call existing customers in NSW to offer them discounted rates and also to take inbound calls from customers who had missed calls or answering machine messages about the offers. Last Wednesday, as it was the end of the financial year and everything was crazy, we had to go into a big meeting where we were told that nobody would be let go etc. because everyone had been worried/heard rumours/already had hours cut back etc. so they wanted to clear that all up. On Thursday a few of us were called into another meeting and were told they no longer had any hours for us. Kind of annoyed since the day before they'd basically told us the opposite but at the same time I can understand that it's Origin's decision and not theirs so I don't really blame them. I'm still "on-call" but I don't really know how reliable or frequent that is going to be. They told me to wait it out until August because that's when business starts to pick up but even though it's only a few weeks away I think I should probably start looking for more work just in case. So that sucks but such is life.

In other, more happy, news today is Harry Potter day! At the moment it's 5:27PM and I'm just waiting it out until 9PM when I'm going to see Deathly Hallows part 1 and then 12:10AM when I'll finally be seeing Deathly Hallows part 2. Mixed feelings at the moment - I'm obviously extremely excited but I'm also kind of nervous and really, really sad that it's all ending. Without giving anything away for those who haven't read it, I'm mostly nervous about the whole Shrieking Shack scene (which I actually think isn't taking place in the Shrieking Shack but whatever, Potter nerds know what I'm talking about). It's going to be so beautiful and heartbreaking and ugh I cannot wait.

Also, if anyone wants a good laugh at me they should probably click here. I was on the cover of my local newspaper today! It's quite embarrassing but is also pretty much the coolest thing ever (even if they did quote me wrong and made me sound like a nine year old hahaha).

I am supposed to be going to Melbourne tonight to see Kisschasy but I've got laryngitis :( Okay, I've seen them 11 times already and the last time I saw them was less than three months ago but whatever, I'm still pissed off.

On a brighter note, a couple of weeks ago I met Barratt fucking Waugh. Let me just explain something - my mum is in love with Cliff Richard and a few years ago (2006 to be exact) she showed me a guy performing on one of Cliff's DVDs and I was blown away. My mum, sister and I all fell completely in love with his voice even though he's not really what we usually listen to (ie. his CD just reached number one on the JB Hi-Fi classical charts). Anyway.. He was in Australia for a few months supporting Marty Rhone and Sheena Crouch on their Cliff and Dusty tribute show. So mum and I got over our hatred for tribute shows and went. He only performed three songs (plus one at the end with Marty and Sheena) but fuck. He was incredible. I can't even explain how incredible. It's something you have to see for yourself. Mum keeps saying over and over again that she was 'mesmerized' and it's so accurate. Anyway, we went out into the foyer afterwards and saw that he was doing a signing so we went over and I got both my CDs signed. I won't go too much into the conversation we had because I'll get all fangirly but he was so lovely and remembered who I was from myspace (lol how embarrassing but awesome). I just.. ahh. It was so great.

Not much else is news. I've been hanging out with Brooke and Gabby a lot (new friends from work). OH I DON'T KNOW WHY THIS SLIPPED MY MIND UNTIL NOW: Ashlee, Tegan, Katie and I are going to Europe next year. It's something I've always wanted to do (obviously) and I'm just so stoked it's actually happening. We'll be in the UK majority of the time but also looking at doing France/Italy/Germany etc. so that's fucking exciting :) Wow I love my life.

I'm exhausted and frustrated so I didn't really give it my all (obviously) but whatever. I'm content with it.

Like I said last time, work has been taking up all of my time. I've been working 6 days a week (10 hours and Mon and Tues, 8 hours on Wed - Fri and 6 hours Sat) and then I usually volunteer at the cinema on Sundays. So I really have been run off my feet. But it's been worth it; the cinema is such an amazing place to work and I get so many free movies and I've made a lot of friends at the call-center. <s>the pay is also unbelievable but I won't get into that.</s>

I got a break last night (finally!)and had a lovely sleepover with Jesse. STORY TIME: We ordered pizza late last night and Louie wanted hot fudge brownies. For some stupid reason they sent ranch sauce instead of fudge sauce :/ so Jesse called them and said he was allergic (which is a lie but whatever) and the lady said, "What do you want me to do about it?" and then hung up when he said bring me more. Obviously that's shit customer service so Jesse called back and asked to speak to the manager and turns it it was the manager. He hung up laughing but I thought maybe she was lying so she wouldn't get into trouble so I called back and asked if she was the manager, found out she really is so the guy put her on the phone again and I said that she was really rude to him. She got all defensive and made me put him on the phone so she could apologise and then next thing we know we get 5 packets of fudge sauce delivered to our door. So Louie called back to say thanks.

Okay I just read over that and realised it was a shit story and was probably only funny if a) you were there, or b) you knew Jesse.

Whatever.

When I was in year 12 I went to go see them in Melbourne and as soon as I got to the venue they cancelled :( So it was unbelievably exciting that they were playing at Groovin' The moo this year which is conveniently right next door to my house. It was such a fun day, I went by myself but met up with different groups of friends all day (Lara, Tarryn, Cash, Fitzy, Josh, Jo) so it was really fun. I don't listen to a majority of the other bands that were playing so I just cruised around all day seeing random bands.

Last weekend I had Cash, Fitzy and Matt's 21st birthday party which was so much fun. Everyone put in for Cash to go to Japan with his girlfriend, Jemima, and it was so amazing to see the look on his face when she gave him the flight tickets. Last night Kate and I went to his family 21st dinner which was so cute. I mostly hung out with Kate and Jemima's little brother watching the footy haha (Richmond won by the way :D so stoked).

Other than that, my time has been taken up by work which is why I hardly ever update this at all. Yes, I finally got a full time job. It's in a call centre which is probably the worst idea for me ever since I hate talking on the phone but it's not too bad. I'm getting used to it. I work until 8 evvery day though so I hardly have time for anything else. I wake up, go to work, then go straight back to bed again. But I'm saving for England so it'll all be worth it in the end.

What's everyone else up to? I seriously feel so out of it. Update me!

<s>Also, I just have to point out that that's a really old photo of Cash and I up there and I am no longer bald. Just to clear that up haha.</s>

Really, Kayla? Really? I'm just gonna go ahead and blame my absence on how freakin' sweet my life has been lately and how busy I've been. Although, if I'm honest, I've had plenty of time in between awesome things but I've just been too lazy.

Okay so since Hubwarts I have been to Kisschasy, City and Colour, Supanova and Good Charlotte. I met Dallas Green, Tom Felton and Charisma Carpenter. Yes. I told you my life has been sweet. I went to Kisschasy with Tegan which was a really fun weekend. It was their goodbye to The Arthouse show (because it's closed down now wahhh) so there wasn't too many people there. We spoke to Darren's dad for a while hahaha who is pretty cool. I think it's a sign you've seen your favourite band too many times when you meet them after the show and can't be fucked getting photos. I got them to sign my setlist just because.. well, that's what I always do.

City and Colour was amazing. Kate and I got a motel room in Melbourne then we met up with Cash, TJ and Chan. Had some really nice pizza for dinner then went to the show. Dallas Green is just.. ugh. I can't even begin to explain how wonderful he is. If you've never seen him live, make sure you do one day. He just puts on such an incredible performance. After the show (and after Cash had gone home sick), Kate, TJ, Chan and I were hanging out the front of the venue and then a security guard told us where the back door was and said we should wait there. So, we did. After about an hour and a half, Dallas came out. There were about 10 of us there and he was just absolutely lovely. He genuinly wanted to talk to us all and had proper conversations with each of us, signed our tickets, posed for photos etc. He's such a cool dude.

Supanova was so much fun. Again, I went with Tegan. Her mum drove us down to Melbourne and dropped us off at the showgrounds. We went and bought our tokens for photos and autographs straight away then lined up for Tom Felton autographs. I wasn't getting one for myself (I'd prefer a photo) but I got one for my friend Elise who lives in Sydney so couldn't meet him herself. Spent the day shopping around the stalls and then got our photos with Tom. He was lovely - he was so, so sick but stayed hours after he was supposed to just to make sure everyone got a photo. Also met up with Rhiannon and Hayley and spent the day with them. When we were lining up to get our photos back, Rhiannon and I spotted Charisma Carpenter and since we couldn't afford photos with her we went up to see if she'd mind taking one with us now. She said no because it would cause a mob but it was still pretty cool just to be able to say hello to her.

Thennnn was Good Charlotte with Tegan and Ree. It was a lot of fun because I've been listening to GC since I was 11 and never gone to see them (don't ask me why) so it was really great to finally see them. Pretty sure Joel was sick but that's okay, they were awesome anyway. They recorded the performance and sold CDs afterwards which I think is the best thing EVER. They should do that at every single show. Not just GC but every band. Ever.

I've also been really, super duper busy at work (I've been getting lots of shifts at my temp job and also volunteering at the cinema [which is freakin' sweet by the way!]) Obviously had Easter in the middle of it all bt ut it still doesn't really feel like I've had Easter. Does anyone else feel that too? I mean, I got a few eggs from my Mum and I went to the procession with my Aunty and cousin but that was about all.

But read it anyway :P

Okay. So Friday afternoon Regan arrived in Bendigo so Mum and I went to the station to pick her up. Hadn't seen her since November (when I went over to Adelaide to see Deathly Hallows when it opened) so we basically just spent the night catching up and such. Saturday morning we headed over to Tegan's house and loaded her car up with all our stuff. Had a bit of car trouble (Tegan's mum's car was parked behind hers but it wouldn't start so we had to manouvre the cars around to get it out of the driveway - it was actually hilarious to watch) and then we headed to Sunbury. Got to our motel, went to the supermarket etc. then just hung out for a few hours. At about 7 (if I recall correctly) we headed to the airport to be the giant stalkers we are. Spent a few hours running from terminal to terminal for all the Sydney to Melbourne flights with Qantas and Virgin. Had a bit of a HP read-a-long, had some fun getting searched for explosives etc. Just trying to fill in time really.

FINALLY, we thought we had the right flight and we were standing at the security part when we saw Stanislav Ianevski and Natalia Tena walk past. So we ran down to baggage collection and this lady was all "OI GIRLS! NO HARRASSING THE ACTORS FOR AUTOGRAPHS!" but we didn't really pay attention to her and kept going. Stood back for a while and noticed the Phelps twins but we kind of didn't want to get in trouble because we realised the woman who yelled at us was from Hub Productions. Tegan was kinda moving in on them though so we just followed. The lady yelled at us again but she said we were allowed to say hello. So we just stood there talking to James Phelps for a bit and they were just saying they were going back to the hotel to sleep etc. and then Oliver came over so we said hello to him. We decided we'd better go so said goodbye and left.

We were standing outside the airport and then we heard this guy yelling out to us so I went up to him and he was like, "If you just want one thing each, I will let you do it," and then I saw James and Oliver walking over to us. James said to me, "After you girls left I asked why we did that and she said she thought we didn't want to be hassled but I was like well.. we do," so they came back for us :D :D So we were able to get photos with them.

Unfortunately we didn't get any photos with Stan or Nat because we were so focussed on getting the Phelps sincce we'd been told we weren't allowed. Anyway, went back home and tried to sleep so we could get up early Sunday morning for Hubwarts.

The whole day was wonderful. We got an early train into Melbourne then another train to Parliament. Walked in the direction we knew we were supposed to but then we couldn't find where we were supposed to be lining up. Found some other girls who were going so we were just looking around. Found Kiz and her friend Rochelle, then Tegan found the line so we went over there. Got into the event and looked around at the merch for a bit. I didn't buy anything because I need to save money haha but Regan got a couple of t-shirts and Tegan got some t-shirts and a wand. Then went in and found our seats.

Throughtout the whole day they had games, an auction and stuff like that but we also had Q&A's from James, Oliver, Nat and Stan photo sessions. Again, only got photos with the twins because I'm poor.

(My scanner won't work so they're webcam photos of photos hahaa that's why they're blurry, just fyi). After all the Q&A's and everything were over they had a signing session and then we went back to the motel. Kind of sad it's over now but I'm going to Supernova next weekend to see Tom Felton so I haven't really hit that post-convention-depression yet haha.

Other than all that excitement, not much has been happening. I've had more shifts at DSE so that's been really good and I just got back from another job interview at a cafe and I have a trial shift tomorrow. And I'm off to see Kisschasy this weekend :)

Did anyone else go to Hubwarts? I'd love to see your photos. And what has everyone else been up to?

Yes, next week. Regan will be coming to my town on Friday, we will head to Sunbury on Saturday with Tegan and then on Sunday we will be enjoying the pleasure of James Phelps, Oliver Phelps, Natalia Tena and Stanislav Ianevski. I'm beyond excited, holy shit. I'm still trying to make my mind up about going to All Hell Breaks Loose III though. I mean, a day ticket costs $150. If Jensen Ackles was going to be there I definitely would but he's not (although Misha Collins is.. so it's extremely tempting but I don't know...)

Other than that, there's not much else to tell. I've mostly been homebound still but I've ventured out a couple times. I saw Hall Pass on Sunday with Cassy which was actually a lot funnier than I was expecting since I generally don't find American comedy all the funny (with some exceptions obviously but as a whole I like British comedy a whole lote more). That was a fun day, just hanging out with Cassy eating Noodle Box. She's always fun though. I went out this morning to go to my job searching session with my agency but I felt like absolute shit and came home after twenty minutes and didn't even see the woman I was supposed to. And then I missed my bus home. So I cheered myself up by buying the Seven 15th Anniversary Edition. The packaging is AMAZING and it came with a tiny little comic based on the gluttony scene which I haven't read yet but am so excited to.

How great is Greyson Chance? Hahaha I'm serious. I've been listening to him a lot lately and I think he's incredible. 'Cause I'm a cool kid like that. Also, it would be really great if the post man would bring me my packages! I'm waiting on The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook, A Tale of Sex, Money, Genius, and Betrayal by Ben Mezrich because I'm a giant The Social Network fangirl and also I Love You To Death and A Night In The Life Of Jimmy Reardon which will finally finish off my River Phoenix collection.

Tuesday last week I was supposed to have a job interview but I was throwing up/coughing up blood (too much info? Whatever, deal with it) so I could NOT go. Wednesday I went to the doctor and he was all, "Oh, it's just a sinus infection. Take these tablets." But they did absolutely nothing and I ended up getting worse. It was basically just a cold/flu x10. I ended up not sleeping properly all week because I couldn't breathe but my asthma inhaler was doing nothing to help with that. But whatever, I'm feeling okay-ish today.

In the middle of all this I still went to Soundwave and it was amazing. The line-up in general wasn't really my thing but my cousins Amber and Cahlia, who are 16 and 15 respectively, weren't allowed to go if I didn't take them. So I did, 'cause I'm awesome. I did really want to see The Gaslight Anthem and Sum 41 though. So it wasn't a total loss on my behalf. BUT ANYWAY! Amber, Cahlia, their friends Stacie and Jesse, my friend Jaron and I all caught the train at some ridiculous hour to Melbourne which was actually a lot of fun. Once we got to Soundwave we parted ways with Jaron 'cause he listens to completely different music to us and went and got merch etc. It was such a fun day. I ended up seeing Social Distortion (who were actually the highlight of my day - they were so fucking incredible), The Gaslight Anthem, Thirty Seconds To Mars, We The Kings, Never Shout Never, The Blackout, Mayday Parade, Bayside and a little bit of Queens Of The Stone Age. Thirty Seconds To Mars exceeded my expectations. I only watched them because a) Sum 41 pulled out so I wasn't seeing anyone at that time, b) Stacie didn't want to see them alone, and c) I'm actually a big fan of Jared Leto's films. Everyone had been telling me they were shit live but they really weren't. They (or really, he) is SO GOOD with the crowd. At the end he picked about 15 people to come up on stage with him and then they were just letting anyone get up there. There ended up being about 50 people on stage, Stacie and I were so close to getting up there but then the security guard was an asshole and wouldn't let anyone else up :( The Gaslight Anthem were also really great but I already knew they would be. Except they were the last band so by the time they played I was exhausted and ready for bed haha. Never Shout Never was my least favourite of the day. I only even saw him because Amber is in love with him (which may be an understatement) but he just seemed like the biggest douchebag ever. He was smoking (which is okay - I don't have anything against smokers.. but like, you're on stage. Is it really necessary? Can't you just wait until your set is over? Fuck. It doesn't make you cool) and the only times he really spoke was to say idiot things like, "This song is about smoking weed. In America we get high every day." Again, I don't have anything against people who smoke weed.. but is it really appropriate to be telling your 14 year old fans that you smoke weed all the time and that it's awesome? Good role model, no really.

That's about all I've done lately. Other than lay on the couch watching The Social Network over and over again waiting to get better. But here are the photos of Kate and I with Clint and Matt from TGP that I said I'd post:

Also, just wanted to give Rhiannon a plug because her blog is really passionate and well-written and more people need to read it.

HOLY. SHIT. This past weekend has been the most fun I have had in such a long time! Friday I headed down to Melbourne and met up with Kate and Katie. I was staying at Rydges with Kate (which was so nice! We walked in and felt like we were not worthy and so under-dressed haha) but we hung out with Katie for a while and then went and met her sister and her sister's boyfriend at a pub. Had a drink with them but then I headed back to the motel while those four went out for dinner/drinks. I waited for Lara to turn up and to be honest I was really pissed off. She said she'd meet me at 7 at the latest but I was waiting FOR-EV-UH and she just didn't seem to be coming and she wasn't responding to my texts. Finally decided to leave without her at 7.30 and headed for Kate Nash. Lara finally responded and said she'd just meet me at the venue but once she got there I realised why she was so late, she was so fucking wasted 'cause she'd been on a pub crawl with everyone from uni. I was still kinda annoyed but whatever. Didn't want it to ruin my night.

Kate Nash was so amazing. I still can't believe I saw her twice in 6 months. She was wearing this.. ugh I don't know how to explain it haha. It was like a red body suit (not like a figure-hugging one, it was baggy) with white polka-dots and this giant red bow on her head. So adorable. I was right in the front, just off centre which was awesome when she was on her keyboard but when she was playing guitar she moved over to the right hand side of the stage. But that was okay, we could still see her and everything. She's so much fun to see live, she really gets into it and talks to the crowd a lot and it's not a crazy audience where you can't move so you can just chill out and dance. She played a pretty good mix of the two albums as well which was awesome. AND I GOT A MOTHERFUCKING SETLIST! They're the main things I want to get at gigs but I've only ever managed to get Kisschasy ones before so I'm so stoked.Saturday was a cute day. Kate and I caught the train out to visit her grandma. We just sat around looking at old photos and cute grandma stuff like that. She made us lunch and then we headed back to the city. Met up with Katie again and then the three of us headed in to see The Getaway Plan. It was so good to see them again! I missed their farewell tour AND their random two gigs late last year so I'm so glad I got to go to this tour because THEY'RE BACK AND I'M SO EXCITED AHHH! Met both Matt and Clint (AGAIN! I swear they are way more social than the other two because I only ever meet them) before they played and got some photos (which I haven't got off Kate yet so I'll show you all next time). The first support band were pretty cool but I have completely forgotten their name. Tonight Alive were the second support band and they really surprised me! For some reason, and I have no idea why, I thought they were going to be complete shit but they were actually so good. And TGP were obviously brilliant. Their new stuff is different but in an amazing way so I'm really looking forward to the new album! When we were leaving we were given a flyer for a show Matt is playing acoustically in April which is the day after I see Good Charlotte so that's worked out well since I'll already be in the city.

Pretty much just spent today shopping. Kate and I checked out of the motel early and tried to find somewhere nice to have breakfast but NOTHING was open so we just went to JB HiFi haha. I bought Takers which I haven't seen yet but I'll be honest - I only bought it because Hayden Christensen is in it. Also got two McFLY CDs I didn't already have (I know, terrible fan, but in my defence it was the greatest hits and the new album which isn't very good anyway) and Tegan's birthday present. After that I tried not to spend any more money but then we found this cute little Asian bakery so we HAD to buy food! Then met up with Katie and her friend who's name has slipped my mind. Went to Melb Central for abou at an hour then went to catch the train home. Also bought FILMINK magazine because Never Let Me Go is on the cover this month and I can never have too much Andrew Garfield in my life.

Now I'm home and absolutely exhausted. I start a temp job tomorrow morning which I'm so grateful for but I don't know how I'm going to do it. I start at 8.15AM tomorrow morning so here's hoping I actually wake up in time! It's only four days but hopefully I can either get a permanent job with them or, because it's reception, I'll be able to find an admin job easier because I'll actually have the experience. Fingers crossed.

You think that's because her family changed their name from Albrecht or do you think it's because all UB girls are bitches? Yeah, I'm watching The Social Network right now... again. I can't help myself when it comes to this film. It's just.. It's wonderful. Moving on.

No surprises here - my time has been filled in with job applications as of late. I really knuckled down this past week. On Monday I applied for 12 jobs and by Wednesday I had applied for another 6. Not that it really helped much, I only heard back from one. Which was Cotton On, and it was a waste of time anyway. They called me for a phone interview and caught me completely off guard and I sounded like a massive twat. But whatever. There's a cinema just near my house that is run by volunteers so I decided I'd volunteer there because a) my dream job would be at a cinema (yep - I dream big!) and b) at least I'll be out there gaining experience and have something on my resume and won't look so lazy! I start training on Wednesday night and I'm really looking forward to it.

Thursday, My mum and I went to see 127 Hours which was P H E N O M E N A L! I mean, it's usually not my type of movie but it was just made so beautifully and was so fucking interesting to watch! I really, really enjoyed it. And if James Franco wins the Oscar over Jesse Eisenberg I won't even be mad because he was spectacular (not that he isn't usually but wow!)

Friday was my cousin Dakota's 13th birthday party. We had a little afternoon tea at her house which was a lot of fun. We just sat around chatting and stuffing our faces with junk food. I got my shoes! And my cousins Amber, Kristy and Adam all gave me some books and DVDs to borrow so there's no chance I'll be bored any time soon.

Saturday night I went back over to Dakota's to help out with her birthday party. She had about 15 teenage girls over (and two boys - the poor things were so bored with all those girls!) for a sleepover and movies. I didn't really help out much but I kept her mum Kristy sane haha. We basically spent the night eating pizza, watching movies and trying not to let the screaming girls drive us crazy. Dakota also loaned me one of the Lenore graphic novels that she got for her birthday. I'd never read any of Roman Dirge's comics but I've definitely been converted into a fan. Can't wait to read more!

And now it's Valentine's Day (I only wrote that in pink to make it seem more exciting but it's really not exciting). Valentine's Day has always been just another day to me and this year is no different. The only reason I've even remembered is because my sister is pretty-ing herself up right now for her boyfriend and has made him chocolate hearts hahaha. I think even if I had a boyfriend, I wouldn't want to do anything on Valentine's Day other than maybe hang out and play video games or something. If this imaginary boyfriend of mine did anything 'romantic' or bought me jewellery or something, I'd probably break up with him since clearly he didn't know me well enough to know not to do that. Is that wrong? Well, today isn't any different. My brother's desktop computer got a virus and I'm too lazy to get rid of it and his laptop.. well, he dropped a bottle of beer on it and now it's fucked. But my sister is soon buying herself a macbook and giving this laptop to me so hopefully I'll never complain again (although I will. I'm one of those really annoying people who just always complaina bout everything). So because of the lack of computers I've taken this chance to quickly make a new layout. I never know how much time I'm going to get when using my sister's laptop because she whinges for it back so I put myself on it because I couldn't be bothered finding any pictures of much better looking people than myself. And I was sick to death of the Emma Stone one (but not of Emma Stone herself because I could never get sick of her).

My cousin Amber is amazing. Like, she's really really amazing. She made me these Charlie McDonnell shoes because I was really jealous of the ones she made my sister for her birthday and bought a pair of shoes and forced her to make them. I haven't received them yet but I can't wait. I don't even want to wear them because I don't want to ruin them! She set up an online store so if you want a pair, please order some! You can choose whatever you want on them and she'll do it. It's only open for Australians at the moment but if they sell well she's thinking of opening it up to worldwide customers.

The Groovin' The Moo lineup has been announced and I nearly wet myself with excitement! I mean, the lineup in general doesn't really appeal to me but The Wombats are playing and that just.. Ugh. When I was in year 12 I was supposed to go and see them but when I arrived at the venue they cancelled because Murph was sick. So the fact that I finally get to see them and it's literally right behind my house is just amazing. The bands usually arrive in Bendigo the day before so I'll definitely be wandering around town all day keeping an eye out for them.

I'm not used to this haha.

I've had quite a lot of job interviews/appointments/applications lately but still no news on the job front. Which is really getting old. It's been over 2 years since I was officially employed and it's depressing. Especially when people are always asking me if I've got a job yet. No. I do not have a job. But thank you very much for rubbing it in and making me feel like shit. I really appreciate that. I'm trying to stay positive though and not drift away from the applications. A job will come eventually. Eugh. Anyway.

Tuesday last week my sister's friend Kelly came down from Sydney for my sister's birthday. They'd been friends for 6 years but had never met before. Without going into too much detail, it didn't end all that well and they're not really.. best friend's anymore. But I won't go too far into it. For a few days we just hung out with her, going shopping and to the movies etc. I'm trying not to spend money at the moment so I can save it all for my Kate Nash/The Getaway Plan weekend next month but I did grab myself The Social Network score on CD (which is the most amazing thing in the world. Holy shit I can't stop listening), a new wallet and a few other little bits and pieces. Kelly, Cassy and I went to see The Dilemma last Thursday which was a lot better than expected. Haven't really seen much of Kelly since then but oh well.

Tgeb tgus week. Wow, hectic. Monday I spent trying to book mine and Kate's accomodation for next month but it was so difficult because our phone got cut off (because they're convinced we didn't pay the bill on time even though we did. Assholes) so I couldn't get on the internet. Tried using maccas internet which wouldn't work so went to my cousins Bill's house and used his wifi. Finally got it all done. Tuesday was my sister's 18th birthday. We had dinner that night with the whole extended family which was really nice. Wednesday and Thursday were pretty quiet and then last night was Laura's actual birthday party. It was a pretty good night but there were a few kids who got on my nerves. It was supposed to be a masked theme but hardly anyone wore masks aha. I mean, everybody had one but we all took them off. Didn't drink too much, just a couple of beers with my brother and a few of my friends. Met some funny, funny people and my stomach still hurts from laughing so much. And a friend of ours (we basically grew up as sisters) had her baby! She lives in QLD but her mum and sister were over so they were waiting for the call. Got a few photos of the bub and he's adorable! So that was amazing.

Today has been really quiet but nice. I'm extremely tired but haven't had to do much, just sat around watching TV basically.

The film is narrated by Carey Mulligan as Kathy H. and tells the story of Kathy, Tommy and Ruth (Keira Knightley) who were cloned to provide donor organs. It's a love story but the heartbreaking circumstances make it so unique and ten times more appealing than any other love story I've ever seen.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 540px; height: 315px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_gafnpRkZb_o/TTOHM_0Y6aI/AAAAAAAAAMM/KRFvvUwIJ6A/s400/easy%2Ba.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5562938622092044706" />#4. Easy A (Will Gluck).
This film has already won Best Comedy at the Broadcast Critics Award and it's easy to see why. Emma Stone (although I'm obviously being bias) is a wonderful lead role and is fast becoming one of the greatest comic actors of our generation. It was interesting to see a modern take on The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne without actually basing it on the novel. The countless references to John Hughes was just an added bonus.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 540px; height: 315px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_gafnpRkZb_o/TTOIUOMbLCI/AAAAAAAAAMU/YYKgZPFTzXo/s400/inception.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5562939845721664546" />#3. Inception (Christopher Nolan).
I can't even to begin to explain how wonderful this film is. The cast was perfect, as was the captivating storyline. Admittedly this film is not for everyone. It takes a lot of concentration and patience but if you're willing to give it that you won't regret it. I saw it at the cinema three times and bought the DVD before it's official release because once I saw it, I instantly wanted to watch it again straight away. The ending was superb. Everyone takes away something different, however, if enough attention is paid it all makes absolute sense.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 540px; height: 315px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_gafnpRkZb_o/TTOJPEb10tI/AAAAAAAAAMc/S4mrckcb-iw/s400/the%2Bsocial%2Bnetwork.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5562940856714253010" />#2. The Social Network (David Fincher).
I went into this film not expecting much. I knew it would be interesting but I had no idea it would be so funny/heartbreaking/wonderful. I came out of it with a new-found respect for everyone involved in facebook as well as everyone who worked on this film. The direction and score and performances were amazing, I honestly can't fault this film. Every award it has won/been nominated for has been well deserved. It was hard not making this my number one film of the year.

BUT MY NUMBER ONE FAVOURITE FILM OF THE YEAR IS...

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 540px; height: 315px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_gafnpRkZb_o/TTOKR6sNRQI/AAAAAAAAAMk/q919pKrUOaw/s400/shutter%2Bisland.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5562942005149779202" />#1. Shutter Island (Martin Scorsese).
Let's be honest: Leonardo DiCaprio can do no wrong. This instantly became one of my favourite films of all time and although it was released in February I knew straight away it would be my favourite of the year. Mark Ruffalo, Ben Kingsley and Michelle Williams were all wonderful supporting actors and the storyling/script was just flawless. Everything about this film captivated me from the get go. Set on an island housing a prison/hospital for the crimanally insane, I was extremely interested to see the behaviour of the people on this island. It was so interesting to see not only the patients but the doctors/guards/police and how they interacted. Although the ending is quite easy to guess, it's still a thrill to see the story unfold.

Honourable mentions: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Toy Story 3, Remember Me, Saw: The Final Chapter, Black Swan.
What were your favourite films of the year? Speaking of, yesterday I purchased tickets to 'Hubwarts' which is an event in Melbourne (there is also one in Sydney) in March with guests James and Oliver Phelps and more to be announced. Yeah, I'm going to see Fred and George Weasley. And we can get professional photos taken with them etc. I really want them to announce the other guests soon but it's possible I'll wee my pants with excitement. I seriously don't think it's possible for this year to be any more amazing. I'm going with Regan and Tegan. I feel like I'm going to cry every time I think about it. So I had better stop talking about it now and move on hahaa.

I saw Deathly Hallows again yesterday for the fourth time and then went and saw Yogi Bear today. (A little shameless self-promotion: PLEASE CLICK HERE AND COMMENT BECAUSE ALL MY OLD READERS HAVE ABANDONED ME :( :( no, but seriously). Other than that, all I've been doing is watching Charmed, playing Crash Bandicoot and eating Noodle Box. I have successfully (kind of) learned how to use chop sticks! I've always wanted to but nobody I know knew how to so they couldn't show me. But thanks to my sister's boyfriend, I can now do it. And I only drop a small amount of them onto myself :P Writing about this has made me want more so I'm glad I saved half of mine today. And yes, now I'm eating left over noodles.

I finally started re-doing my bedroom wall. It took my a year and a half to remember to buy blu tack. Seriously. I had a big ball of it when we moved houses but I lost it and I just have the worst memory ever sooo.. It's not finished yet because I also lost everything I was going to put up. So I'm slowly building on it.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;;width: 540px; height: 420px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_gafnpRkZb_o/TS7EQu6gxDI/AAAAAAAAAL8/O7ERtVu1B00/s400/wall.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5561598381599540274" />

Pointless blog post is pointless.

I don't really know where to start. But I'll try not to bore you all with my cliche holiday stories.

Christmas Eve was.. not as good as I'd hoped. That's not to say it was shit, it's just.. Christmas Eve is my favourite day of the year. I always end up enjoying it a lot more than Christmas Day because I'm excited about the next day and I usually see a lot of people but I think I've decided it's probably more fun if you live in my old street. Which I obviously don't anymore so it wasn't as fun. We used to all sit outside and have a chat and play and wait for Santa to come around on the fire truck with lollies. And my old neighbour, Tegan (who I have probably mentioned here before), and I always exchange our presents on Christmas Eve because we do family stuff on Christmas Day. So this year I did go around to her house but I didn't stay very long. I gave her a McFLY bundle (some CD's, a DVD, a vinyl) and she gave me Little Nikita (which, if you remember my Christmas wishlist post a few weeks back, is what I most wanted so she's a freakin' legend). That was pretty much as exciting as it got.

Christmas Day was lovely. Got a shit load of DVD's, clothes, books etc. and my mum is giving me money to go towards a laptop once I save up the rest (I asked her not to give it to me yet or I'll spend it). Had a roast for lunch with my mum, brother and sister and just hung out the rest of the day.

Boxing Day is when my entire extended family on my mum's side have our little shindig. We spent it at my cousin Kristy's house and had a blast. My sister's boyfriend Jacob came with us (who I'm mentioning because I just told him I'd give him a shout out - he says to say, "like a boss") and the whole day was just awesome as usual. Oh, I mentioned last time that I was giving Kristy a Short Stack CD and shirt as a joke so I'd better mention now that she gave me a Short Stack calendar she'd made online with pictures of them and lyrics with my name in them and their birthdays. Yeah we're pretty fucking cool. And hate Short Stack a lot haha.

When I got home, Jacob and I had some vodka ice-cream (probably a bad idea but it was delicious). My friend Elsie turned 20 on Boxing Day so I headed over to her house after that and had a <s>few</s> lot of drinks and then headed out to a club (only one open on Boxing Day which was annoying but still fun). It was a really fun night and it was awesome catching up with my friend Cassy who I hadn't seen since January (aside from a few drunken nights that neither of us can barely remember).

Then I headed down to Warrnambool on the 30th to stay with my bestest friend Kate and her housemate Katie. Had a LOT of fun with them, as usual! Kate's boyfriend Jason was also staying there and Katie's boyfriend Punchy was there most of the time too. We basically sat around watching House and playing wii most of the time but we had a little get-together on NYE which was a lot of fun and then I headed home on Tuesday.

And that's basically it! Now I'm back to normal life. Met my new baby cousin Noah today (who is absolutely gorgeous) and have a job interview tomorrow along with Cassy's birthday party tomorrow night. So that should be good. I hope you all had a good Christmas and New Years and all that jazz! Aaand I'll leave you with my little best of '10 collage thingo. Enjoy!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand; width:540px; height:408px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_gafnpRkZb_o/TSWKtANxwXI/AAAAAAAAAL0/HX9aMv7tBo4/s400/best%2Bof%2B%252710.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5559001820815278450" />

I'd also just like to give Ellie a plug because her blog, a vogue idea is amazing! Please go and check it out, it's all about pop culture and it's just wonderful.

But I hated the last one so I had to take it down. And I wanted to put this one up before I disappear off your computer screens. I have no idea when I'll be able to blog again because this week is Christmas so I'll be super busy (as I'm sure you all will be too) and then I'm off to visit my best friend in Warrnambool for NYE. I don't know how long I'll be staying there but I'm pretty excited because a) I haven't seen her in a few weeks and b) she just moved into her very own house which I haven't seen yet! She's lived in Warrnambool for a year now but she was living at the university all year. I'm so, so excited to see her house!

My Kate Nash ticket arrived in the mail today. I'm far more excited about 2011 than I have been for any other year just because of the shows I have lined up! I've got my tickets to Kate Nash, The Getaway Plan, Good Charlotte and Soundwave and I'm still waiting for Barratt Waugh's to go on sale (although I am already on the meet and greet list with my mum, eeee!) Unfortunately I missed out on City and Colour tickets just because, well, I need all my money for Christmas presents.

Speaking of! I've almost finished my shopping now. I just need to get my brother's present and I'm doing that on Wednesday (which is probably leaving it too late but I'm not an organised person at all so he should be happy to be getting it on Christmas instead of after haha). I don't really buy presents for anyone besides my mum, brother and sister. My friends and I have a mutual agreement that we don't buy for each other because we all pretty much hate buying presents. And my Mum buys presents for all our relatives so she has that covered. I did wrap up a Short Stack shirt and CD single for my cousin as a running joke, though. She gave me the single last year so I thought I'd come back bigger and better. We really hate Short Stack.

Alright I'm just gonna go before I fall asleep at the computer desk. I'll say Merry Christmas to you all now, I hope you have an excellent time and stay safe xo

I cannot believe it's December. I cannot believe I haven't even started my Christmas shopping yet. I hardly even know what I want myself, let alone what other people want! But anyway, here's my Christmas wish list:

Little Nikita and I Love You To Death on DVD to finish off my River Phoenix collection. They're the only two I haven't got yet (besides A Night In The Life Of Jimmy Reardon which hasn't been released on DVD yet). Really, being a huge movie buff, any DVD would make me happy but these two would just make me instantly fall in love with whoever gave them to me.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 274px; height: 324px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_gafnpRkZb_o/TPrhocb8KCI/AAAAAAAAALQ/U94LiMq522U/s400/harry%2Bpotter.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5546993976004585506" />This book, Harry Potter Film Wizardry, and thankfully I know I am getting it since I begged my mum for it until she couldn't handle my whinging any longer and bought it. I've had a flip through and it is amazing so I can't wait until Christmas morning when I can have a proper read.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 324px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_gafnpRkZb_o/TPrinQwzjwI/AAAAAAAAALY/EyVD_-GCOPE/s400/laptop.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5546995055202635522" />A laptop. Mine is falling to pieces (literally, the screen is only half attached) so I'm actually serious when I say that any laptop will do me! I think I'm getting money off my mum to put towards one but I'm more than happy to cough up the rest. I had a 9 hour bus trip back from Adelaide today and even though I've been home for 4 hours now, I'm still recovering from it. Even though all you do is sit there, it's exhausting. Glad it's over and done with. But I had such an amazing time in Adelaide!

Regan, Belinda, Michelle, Ronni and I all went and saw Deathly Hallows part 1 which was incredible and had us all crying. Had two very drunk weekends and another one during the week, had a bit of a dance which was a lot of fun! Other than that, we basically spent the rest of the time lying around, watching TV and eating. Which is basically my life anyway so I didn't mind haha. It was really good catching up with Regan and spending some time with all her friends and family. I'm spewing though because I kept forgetting to take photos! All I've got is this one of Belinda, Regan and myself.

I got my Good Charlotte ticket for next year!
