WARDROBE RAID: Mustard & Pearls

2012-06-26T23:52:00.000+10:00

I love pearls. More importantly I LOVE CHANEL PEARLS. However I rarely dress up to the 9's (more often than not I am wearing jeans and a tee if not a tracksuit) so I am trying to work out how to dress down my Chanel pearls so i can wear them more often.

Heres one of my potential looks for a Friday night dinner.

WARDROBE RAID: Neon and white

2012-06-26T14:15:00.001+10:00

I am a sucker for sales. Being mid year clearance time I have picked up some hot new pieces at a fraction of the price.

This look is very similar to my last WARDROBE RAID look however the change of jacket just gives it a completely new feel.

Im do not have much silver however this jacket was worth compromising my love of gold for.

Jacket: sass & bide The Beat in Ivory and neon yellow. RRP $750 but purchased for about $390 on sale. More than what I usually like to spend on a jacket however I am going to make this jacket work hard.

WARDROBE RAID: Neon with pastels?

2012-06-26T13:53:00.000+10:00

I am ALWAYS wearing the same thing. I mean like always. Blue jeans and black tee. So I decided to experiment with my wardrobe and my new mannequin.

I started putting together a neon look however got distracted. I had to hang up my sass & bide raffia jacket so it does not get ruined and dumped it on top of the mannequin and actually liked what I saw. So here it is... a new trend.

JACKET: sass & bide raffia New York Times jacket $30 from the most recent warehouse sale (RRP $420) http://shop-aholicsanonymous.blogspot.com.au/2012/05/all-mine-sass-bide-raffla-new-york.html?utm_source=BP_recent

STAR STYLE: Kim Kardashian wearing sass & bide

2012-06-23T01:49:00.000+10:00

Kim and I share very similar tastes in clothes (but definitely not men!) and therefore I have enough pics of Kim in my fave Aussie brand sass & bode to create a blog post. There are a couple pics of the other Kardashians rocking sass & bide as well.

SALE ALERT: sass & bide half yearly sale

2012-06-23T01:22:00.000+10:00

I have totally fallen in love with sass & bide and luckily for me they are having a huge half yearly sale both in stores and online.

Below are a few of my fave items from the sale. While most of them can be bought online I did see a lot of pieces that were only on sale in-store so make sure to check out the store as well.

SPECIAL REPORT: Neon Bags

2012-06-19T09:42:00.000+10:00

To continue with our special report I am going to showcase designer neon bags from Jimmy Choo, Chanel, Hermes and more.

SPECIAL REPORT: Neon yellow. The trend that wont die.

2012-06-19T00:26:00.000+10:00

I admit I really thought the Neon yellow trend would be over now. Its now winter. It raining almost every day. Its gloomy. Yet the neon yellow trend is stronger than ever with most retailers getting loads of stock in to keep up with the demand.

My beloved Neon Yellow Piagelle have completely sold out, so have the Neon Casadei skyscraper pumps I had my eye on. I have been left with some cheap options though they just did not do it for me. However Wanted Shoes (a cheap shoe store based in Australia) just bought out a half decent paid of Neon heels for $59 which I purchased today which inspired me to get back in touch with the neon trend I almost gave up on.

To begin this report I am posting some of my fave photographs of neon.

Next is my favourite topic - SHOES! No outfit is complete without a statement pair of shoes. here are a few of my neon favourites. They include Casadei, Christian Louboutin, Jimmy Choo and more.

Here are some celebrities rocking the Neon trend.

BLUSHING BRIDE: Country style

2012-06-15T21:32:00.003+10:00

A few friends have recently become engaged and being a stylist I have been enlisted as the unofficial wedding planner.

Here is some inspiration for a quaint country wedding. Half the images are from Vogue editorials.

SALE ALERT: Camilla Woodstock Collection 50% off

2012-06-15T13:41:00.000+10:00

SALE ALERT! SALE ALERT! SALE ALERT!

The entire Woodstock collection (my all time fave collection) is on sale online. Its 50% off the entire collection.

They also have 2 other collections with selected items on sale but the camilla website is soooo poorly designed its impossible to find those sale pieces. Camilla PLEASE get your online shopping cart updated as its the most frustrating site to shop at. You dont know whats on sale until you check out! I sometimes wonder if they are going for the boho hippie rustic feel with their online technology as well.

Anyhow the Woodstock collection is easy to work out. Everything is 50% off at the checkout. See the link below.

http://www.camillaonline.com.au/categories/WOODSTOCK-AW-11/

This collection is my all time favourite collections due to its plain patterns. Im not normally a fan of patterns and crystals so this collection suits me just fine.

CELEBRITY STYLE: The Herve Leger Bandage Dress

2012-06-15T01:34:00.000+10:00

It is no secret that I am obsessed with Herve Leger. I never in a million years thought that the 2nd skin bandage dress would suit me. I assumed it would accentuate all my flaws and make me look like a balloon. That was until a shop assistant persuaded me to try one on. I ended up purchasing 2 dresses that day. One of the front zip mini dresses with cap sleeves (full price) and a hot one shoulder dress on sale.

If you have not tried an authentic Herve Leger bandage dress I highly recommend you try one. The fit is just unbelievable. I describe them as spanx dresses. Instead of accentuate your flaws they suck them all in and grab your curves.

It is no surprise that celebrities also share my obsession. it is a rend shared by the waifs of Hollywood as well as the voluptuous full bodied women. Below is a tribute to my all time favourite trend.

We will start off with Kim Kardashian and her collection of Herve Leger. The bandage dress made up her entire red carpet wardrobe until a stylist got involved.

BE SURE TO CHWCK OUT THE REST OF MY BLOG FOR MORE HERVE LEGER!!!!

Next is Jennifer Lopez. I must say I prefer J. Lo's picks more than Kim K's. She takes more risks and tends to choose the runway items rather than the signature pieces.

Miranda Kerr in a signature strapless dress I own.

Carrie Underwood in a stunning long Herve Leger bandage dress. LOVE!

Heidi Montag looking surprisingly sophisticated before she blew $10 million dollars with her douche husband on plastic surgery and crystals. I hear they are broke, living with their parents and spending more time finally potty training her dogs. I do love this outfit though (except the shoes).

FASHION PHOTOGRAPHY: 100% Chanel Vogue Editorial

2012-06-14T01:15:00.001+10:00

100% Chanel. Enough said.

Model Daria Werbowy is draped in 100% Chanel in Vogue Paris March 2009 editorial “La Veste” photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin styled by Emmanuelle Alt.

I want to know where to buy pieces like pictured in this shoot. The Chanel stores I go to always couture that I can swim in. I guess I just need to be patient and wait for a hip collection to come my way.

This shoot is full of Chanel! Chanel pearls, Chanel bags, Chanel tweed jackets, Chanel tees, Chanel mini skirts... the list goes on!

FASHION PHOTOGRAPHY: Underwater Dreamland

2012-06-14T00:40:00.001+10:00

While doing some research for an upcoming shoot I came across Alexander McQueens Spring 2010 Plato’s Atlantis shoot featuring Alla Kostromicheva. It blew my mind away!

This may look easy to the untrained eye but a shoot like this takes an enormous amount of energy, skill and photography gear. Not to mention the hard work of the model!

The first set below includes pieces from Versace and Balmain as well. It seems like such a shame to submerge such expensive gowns but the final result is oh-so worth it!

Below are some amazing underwater shots as inspiration. Next time you fall into a pool with your silk gown, dont cry, just think about how good you look.

ALL MINE: Happiness comes in Chanel bags!

2012-06-06T23:18:00.000+10:00

OH HAPPY DAYS! I have been saving/waiting for this day for almost a decade. The day has finally come.

Here it comes....

SURPRISE! My first Chanel chain!

I AM IN LOVE...

I have been searching for this necklace for over a year as I already have the rest of the set.

Stay tuned for some more pics wearing it out and about. Oh and for those who are interested in buying one, I picked this one up for about AU $2,000.

BRING IT BACK: Diamonds and Pearls

2012-05-18T00:22:00.003+10:00

Prince definitely was on the money when he sang his hit song 'Diamonds & Pearls'. Pearls have been around for so long that they cant be considered a trend. They are A WAY OF LIFE. There has been a movement away from the single neat strand of pearls to scattered pearls, blended with diamonds and other stones and textures for an edgy look. My favourite look is layering a necklaces of different textures for a home made statement piece. I recently even wore a handmade necklace made of pearls mixed together with crystals and feathers.

Here is a small selection of my pearl necklaces. I think the fact I have not come bored of my cheap pearls warrants an investment in a long layered Chanel piece very soon... watch this space!

HOME STYLE some ideas for my office redesign

2012-05-07T21:52:00.000+10:00

Below is some inspiration I collected while redesigning my office. Enjoy!

ALL MINE sass & bide Raffia New York Times Jacket

2012-05-07T18:53:00.003+10:00

This is another of the many pieces I picked up from the sas & bide warehouse sale. I just love it! Who needs to wear fur when you own jackets like this to rock through winter. The RRP was $420 however I managed to pick it up for a measly $30! I am still in shock. Its made out of a raffia (or raffla) construction.

I have teamed it up with a nude coloured Kookai cashmere tank.

ALL MINE Herve Leger Metallic Mini Skirt

2012-05-07T18:21:00.000+10:00

I have had this Herve Leger metallic mini skirt for a while now and it never seems to date. Like most of my Herve Leger stuff I bought it off theoutnet.com reduced from $750 to $375. If you have never tried on authentic Herve Legar it is a must. When the trend first set in I tired on some imposter bandage dresses from brands like bebe and absolutely hated the way it felt and looked. It pushed all my curves to make me look like a ruler. The real deal feels oh-so comfy and accentuates your curves instead of flattens everything.

Below I team up my Herve Leger skirt with a Kookai cashmere singlet, Chanel earrings, and my sass & bide 'I Found Treasure' raffia harness.

FASHION PHOTOGRAPHY pet props PART 1

2012-05-06T22:22:00.000+10:00

Nothing inspires me more than the use of animals in fashion photography. Here are a few of my favourite shots from a collection of high fashion magazines over the last decade or so. It seems as though the European magazines are more inclined to use animals in their editorials.

ALL MINE 'I found treasure' sass & bide harness

2012-05-06T21:40:00.001+10:00

When I see pieces like this sass & bide harness I think ART! With a RRP of $950 I would think twice purchasing an item this crazy. Luckily for me I found it at the recent sass & bide sale for just $80. Its made out of a rose gold and raffia (or raffla) trim. An item like this can only be worn once. I am still waiting for the right event to wear this piece to. Rest assured I will post the pics (and comments) on the blog when I do finally wear it. I cant wait!

ALL MINE 'if that makes sense' sass & bide dress

2012-05-06T21:12:00.000+10:00

One of the many items I picked up at the sass & bide warehouse sale. Found this 'if that makes sense' dress on the frist day for $30! BARGAIN! team it up with some Chanel earrings (of course) and sparkly silver shoes.

ALL MINE sass & bide The Beloved tank

2012-05-05T21:15:00.001+10:00

Here is a cute sass & bide tank I picked up at the recent sass & bide warehouse sale. Its from the Boogie And The Historymaker collection.

Team up the tank with a Chanel jewlery and some OPI nailcolour.

ALL MINE Gucci Cognac Leather Buckle 'Ride' Boots

2012-05-05T00:11:00.001+10:00

While in South Africa I noticed a big trend for riding boots. It suited the whole safari theme and a good pair of designer riding boots teamed up with a white shirt and dark jeans made a casual comfortable outfit look oh-so runway.

The problem with riding boots is that they tend to look a little too masculine. It took me a while to find a pair that were not too plain or look like they were part of a cowboy fancy dress costume.

My initial choice were the Tory Burch Selma Riders however they were a bit too difficult to locate and the $500 price tag was quite high for Tory Burch. I figured Id rather pay an extra $500 for a good quality pair of Gucci boots which I found on sale at www.bluefly.com

Here are my Gucci 'ride's'

ALL MINE Jimmy Choo 'Sora' Ugg Boots

2012-05-04T21:18:00.000+10:00

It was love at first sight when I purchased my Jimmy Choo Ugg Boots in America, I fell in love even more when I started wearing them, they are warm and comfy and stylish. I long for the moment when I can slip into my Uggs after a long day of wearing high heels!
