Since moving to a smaller apartment, I've had to sort and toss out boxes of old materials, resources, keepsakes, ancient sermons, seminary notes. And, of course, I want to reread almost everything. Ideas and insights I've gleaned while rummaging through ideas and idealisms from fifteen years ago help me remember and realize how my faith has changed over the years. What about you? Any new "Aha!" or old insights reawakened during the summer?

Dignity appears in the first principle of the Unitarian Universalist faith. Yet it remains a largely unexplored concept. Where might we be most expected to find its presence—or absence? How easily can its importance be brushed aside, even by those of us who swear by its importance? Those who take dignity seriously can expect to be engaged in an ongoing back and forth between fighting for its preservation and acknowledging the impediments we often place upon its path.
