A cable guy is called in to repair an old mans TV set. Once inside the clients home, the repairman realizes theres nothing wrong with the TV. Rather its the images broadcasted on the screen: wars, famine, illness and kidnappings, that are broken. Moved by the clients naive request, and against his better judgment, the cable guy will attempt to fix the problem.

An elegant and humorous film-in the guise of a serious anthropological treatise-spotlights “The Perfect Human”, a model of the modern Dane created by our wishful thinking.

The Man (Claus Nissen) and The Woman (Majken Algren Nielsen) are in an empty white room with only the essential props for each scene.

A bed, bedding, a table, chairs. “We are going to see the perfect human being in action”, we hear, and Leth’s voice puts descriptive or puzzled words to the little actions the film exhibits: the man touches his face investigatively, fills a pipe, cuts his nails, and gets undressed, but he does peculiar things, too: he jumps as if he is weightless, snaps his fingers in strange ways, and dances with exaggerated movements and no music.

“Today, too, I had an experience that I hope I shall understand in a few days’ time”, he ponders. The whole film is staged with great clarity in its picture compositions with several characteristic zooms to indicate the bodily parts of the perfect human being, and emphasis on the light, boundless nothingness of the room. The soundtrack reveals tones of a clarinet touching on the stylistically consistent visuals.

This short film by American director Ramin Bahrani (Goodbye Solo) traces the epic, existential journey of a plastic bag (voiced by Werner Herzog) searching for its lost maker, the woman who took it home from the store and eventually discarded it. Along the way, it encounters strange creatures, experiences love in the sky, grieves the loss of its beloved maker, and tries to grasp its purpose in the world.

In the end, the wayward plastic bag wafts its way to the ocean, into the tides, and out into the Pacific Ocean trash vortex — a promised nirvana where it will settle among its own kind and gradually let the memories of its maker slip away.

Gadajace Glowy (Talking Heads) is a serious documentary film which features people from different age groups, backgrounds and professions. Kieslowski starts his film by asking three simple questions to a boy aged 1 year.

These questions are:

a) Who are you?
b) When were you born?
c) What is important for you?

A common element of all answers involves respect for an individual.

These three questions are asked to many young children, boys, girls, men and women. We get to hear very calculated replies which evoke all kinds of human feelings. It is through these replies that we come to know that Polish people are exhorted to be brave, honest and decent in their daily lives. Master cameraman Jacek Petrycki carefully films these replies which have been formulated in order to state that individual freedom is not enough as people must live in a democratic setup. At the end of the film, one of the most poignant reply comes from a lady who is 100 years old. She states that she would like to live more.

Talking Heads is a documentary film of highest quality about heads which talk. It is not an ordinary, trite talk which one gets to hear. Kieslowski has conceived “Talking Heads” in such a manner that we get to hear frank views about life from simple, ordinary human beings. imdb
