<p>Like a master strategist, the commander surveys the sea at his feet: how far away are those ships from shore,  how many people are swimming below,  how long will that camel sit on the beach today? <span id="more-160"></span></p>
<p>As the day starts to get away from him, the situation must be assessed before the dire dusk disposes of the sun. The ship, the swim, the camel. Ship, swim, camel. Ship- ah hell with it. It’s time for another drink.</p>

<p>What I love about photography is the moment when you ask yourself, “Did that really happen?” <span id="more-154"></span></p>
<p>Is this reality that I see within this rectangle or did Photoshop look through my photos when I wasn’t looking? Could this improbable scene be something that happens every day – it’s just the tourist that makes a big deal of it?</p>
<p>As my little friend looks out over the sea below, why does it see? An endless blue, the rocks beneath, the people milling about? Or does it sigh with the realization that it has a really long way to fly to get anywhere else?</p>
