Vormelek: online registration and complex reports

The challenge: Vormelek is a training center for electricians. Employees and jobseekers find trainings there on new techniques and machines. The complicated collective labor agreement regulations saddled the company with annoying and time-consuming administrative tasks.

Our answer: We created an online-registration tool for employers and employees. Those data appear automatically in the reports for the different governments. They are also linked to another database which manages the budgets. That automation saves a lot of time. Moreover, the complete database is entirely bilingual: users can switch over from Dutch to French and the other way round at any time.

AVL: complete construction projects in a database

The challenge: Construction company AVL wants to automate the complex process of building a new house as much as possible. All relevant components had to be consulted and used at the right moment.

Our answer: We built a database which considerably simplified the task of the file administrators at AVL and, at the same time, improved the service to the customers. In one database we now combine all the details concerning the construction project, appointments with contractors and architects, a planning which takes into account the weather with the use of GPS, etc

Schelstraete & Desmedt: super-fast complex reporting

The challenge: the core function of Schelstraete & Desmedt is search. They are a matchmaker that places companies and top professionals in contact with each other. And this involves the correct processing of a lot of complex data.

Our answer: The database is the beating heart of Schelstraete & Desmedt. Not only does it contain all the data concerning the companies and the candidates – but also the complete active history is stored by S&D. This allows everyone to know exactly which operation was done when and by whom. That is very important in an environment where confidentiality and professionalism are of utmost importance. Moreover, it is possible for management to generate complex and accurate reports from the incredible wealth of data.

Mifratel: one system for hundreds of users

The challenge: Call-center specialist Mifratel wanted to automate a large part of its tasks. Because at any one moment there are hundreds of telephone operators working at the same time, a robust database was a critical requirement.

Our answer: We linked their telephones and their call-centers to a brand-new database. This allows us to record time, length, phone number and many other parameters automatically in the file. Telephoning, itself, also occurs from inside the application. And all data are so flexible that they are effortlessly incorporated in other databases and programs.

Snick: a delicious database full of recipes

The challenge: Snick provides bouillons and other food supplements to restaurants and hotels. The company buys ingredients, processes them according to the strict rules of the food inspection and then delivers them to the customer. And that whole process had to be accurately recorded.

Our answer: Each ingredient that comes in sends its bar-code to the new database. That makes it simple to trace all raw materials very accurately all the way to the finished product that is sent to the customer – including the invoice. Besides, the recipe database also directs a whole battery of scales: they select automatically the correct quantity of each ingredient.

Vanden Borre Restauraties: colorful calendar and timesheets

The challenge: The restoration projects of Vanden Borre require very detailed planning. Because the company puts many professional people to work concurrently on several different projects, the payroll administration is very complex. Automating the process had to especially save a lot of time.

Our answer: We created a centrally managed calendar which indicated in clearly colored fields which craftsman was working on which project. This will allow the employees to know exactly what their assignment is as well as help the administration run much smoother. Because the calendar has been immediately linked with the module for timesheets and paychecks: those are as of now filled in automatically.

Decapac: Centrally-driven machines

The challenge: At Decapac dozens of industrial machines take care of the packaging of food. Every day tens of thousands of little packages go out the door, each one filled with resources that were delivered on that same day in bulk. Optimization of that process would make a difference worth millions.

Our answer: We created a system for centrally driving the machines by means of a graphically clear interface. The production times are now optimally tuned to the supply of raw materials and customer demand.

Planning application for Pelgrims Verpakkingen

Pelgrims produces and supplies packaging for wholesalers in packaging, supermarket chains and suppliers to bakers, butchers and retailers. A huge logistical operation which requires a good and clear planning.

We built an order processing system in FileMaker with a visually clear web application for the planning. The planning team now gets a list overview of all orders that should be processed and can just drag'n'drop thse orders to the most efficient time slots.

Web shop for Sint-Lukasarchief

For the last 39 years, at the non-profit organization Sint-Lukasarchief everything revolves around collecting, storing and making available urban development and architectural heritage in Flanders, Brussels and Belgium.

An important pillar of the archive is the sale of architecture photographs in an online shop. Employees place photographs of important buildings online and users can order them there in several formats. We provided the integration of that central photograph database with the website.
