What is a Space suit?

We know that the atmosphere at the Earth's surface produces a pressure equal to the weight of a large automobile on each square meter. We do not notice this since it is equal both inside and outside our bodies. But if the air inside a metal pot is, for instance, forced out by boiling water inside it, the pot collapses under this pressure.
Similarly, an unprotected astronaut in a space flight would not only die by swelling up, but his blood would also start to boil. The temperature at which a liquid boils depends on the atmospheric pressure. At a height of 9 km, water boils at 74°C; and above 19 kms, blood boils below body temperature. At zero pressure, the astronaut's blood would instantly turn to a deadly loam.
Therefore, keeping these aspects in view, a space suit is specially designed so as to protect an astronaut from the dangers of space during space flights. Space dangers include extreme temperature, hazardous radiations, fast moving particles, vacuum etc..
A space suit clothing is made or several layers each of which has a specific purpose. One of the inner layers controls the temperature. With the help of this Manned Maneuvering Unit (MMU), an astronaut can leave the space craft and fly independently. It has the provision for oxygen gas. Each suit has got a primary life support system. It holds enough water and oxygen to enable the astronaut to carry out space walks for several hours. The space suit has the liquid cooling and ventilation system. In tact each suit is made from a number of different pieces. Each piece is made by selecting the sizes. Individual astronaut is given a suit from these so as to fit him.
One very surprising thing about MMU is its weight On earth it weighs about 158 kgs but when used in space it makes the astronaut very mobile. This is because or the weightlessness conditions in the space. A space suit therefore is a life-saving device for an astronaut.

Why do we do Pradakshina(circumambulate) Around Temple?

We cannot draw a circle without a center point. The Lord is the center, source and essence of our lives. Recognizing Him as the focal point in our lives, we go about doing our daily chores. This is the significance of pradakshina.

Also every point on the circumference of a circle is equidistant from the center. This means that wherever or whoever we may be, we are equally close to the Lord. His grace flows towards us without partiality.

Why in a clockwise manner?

The reason is not, as a person said, to avoid a traffic jam! As we do pradakshina, the Lord is always on our right. In India the right side symbolizes auspiciousness. So as we circumambulate the sanctum sanctorum we remind ourselves to lead an auspicious life of righteousness, with the Lord who is the indispensable source of help and strength, as our guide – the "right hand".

Indian scriptures enjoin – matrudevo bhava, pitrudevo bhava, acharyadevo bhava. May you consider your parents and teachers as you would the Lord. With this in mind we also do pradakshina around our parents and divine personages.

After the completion of traditional worship (pooja), we customarily do pradakshina around ourselves. In this way we recognize and remember the supreme divinity within us, which alone is idolized in the form of the Lord that we worship outside.

Why do we wear marks (tilak, pottu and the like) on the forehead?

The tilak or pottu invokes a feeling of sanctity in the wearer and others. It is recognized as a religious mark. Its form and colour vary according to one’s caste, religious sect or the form of the Lord worshipped.

In earlier times, the four castes (based on varna or colour) – Brahmana, Kshatriya, Vaishya and Sudra – applied marks differently. The brahmin applied a white chandan mark signifying purity, as his profession was of a priestly or academic nature. The kshatriya applied a red kumkum mark signifying valour as he belonged to warrior races. The vaishya wore a yellow kesar or turmeric mark signifying prosperity as he was a businessman or trader devoted to creation of wealth. The sudra applied a black bhasma, kasturi or charcoal mark signifying service as he supported the work of the other three divisions.

Also Vishnu worshippers apply a chandan tilak of the shape of "U", Shiva worshippers a tripundra of bhasma, Devi worshippers a red dot of kumkum and so on).

The tilak cover the spot between the eyebrows, which is the seat of memory and thinking. It is known as the Aajna Chakra in the language of Yoga. The tilak is applied with the prayer – "May I remember the Lord. May this pious feeling pervade all my activities. May I be righteous in my deeds." Even when we temporarily forget this prayerful attitude the mark on another reminds us of our resolve. The tilak is thus a blessing of the Lord and a protection against wrong tendencies and forces.

The entire body emanates energy in the form of electromagnetic waves – the forehead and the subtle spot between the eyebrows especially so. That is why worry generates heat and causes a headache. The tilak and pottu cools the forehead, protects us and prevents energy loss. Sometimes the entire forehead is covered with chandan or bhasma. Using plastic reusable "stick bindis" is not very beneficial, even though it serves the purpose of decoration.

Why do we have a Pooja Room at our home?

Most Indian homes have a pooja room or altar. A lamp is lit and the Lord worshipped each day. Other spiritual practices like japa (repetition of the Lord’s name), meditation, paaraayana (reading of the scriptures), prayers, and devotional singing etc is also done here. Special worship is done on auspicious occasions like birthdays, anniversaries, festivals and the like. Each member of the family – young or old – communes with and worships the Divine here.
The Lord is the entire creation. He is therefore the true owner of the house we live in too. The pooja room is the Master room of the house. We are the earthly occupants of his property. This notion rids us of false pride and possessiveness.
The ideal attitude to take is to regard the Lord as the true owner of our homes and us as caretakers of his home. But if that is rather difficult, we could at least think of him as a very welcome guest. Just as we would house an important guest in the best comfort, so too we felicitate the Lord’s presence in our homes by having a pooja room or altar, which is, at all times, kept clean and well-decorated.
Also the Lord is all pervading. To remind us that He resides in our homes with us, we have pooja rooms. Without the grace of the Lord, no task can be successfully or easily accomplished. We invoke His grace by communing with Him in the pooja room each day and on special occasions.
Each room in a house is dedicated to a specific function like the bedroom for resting, the drawing room to receive guests, the kitchen for cooking etc. The furniture, decor and the atmosphere of each room are made conducive to the purpose it serves. So too for the purpose of meditation, worship and prayer, we should have a conducive atmosphere – hence the need for a pooja room.
Sacred thoughts and sound vibrations pervade the place and influence the minds of those who spend time there. Spiritual thoughts and vibrations accumulated through regular meditation, worship and chanting done there pervade the pooja room. Even when we are tired or agitated, by just sitting in the pooja room for a while, we feel calm, rejuvenated and spiritually uplifted.

Why do we light a lamp at Indian home?

In almost every Indian home a lamp is lit daily before the altar of the Lord. In some houses it is lit at dawn, in some, twice a day – at dawn and dusk – and in a few it is maintained continuously (akhanda deepa). All auspicious functions commence with the lighting of the lamp, which is often maintained right through the occasion.

Light symbolizes knowledge, and darkness, ignorance. The Lord is the "Knowledge Principle" (chaitanya) who is the source, the enlivener and the illuminator of all knowledge. Hence light is worshiped as the Lord himself.
Knowledge removes ignorance just as light removes darkness. Also knowledge is a lasting inner wealth by which all outer achievement can be accomplished. Hence we light the lamp to bow down to knowledge as the greatest of all forms of wealth
Why not light a bulb or tube light? That too would remove darkness. But the traditional oil lamp has a further spiritual significance. The oil or ghee in the lamp symbolizes our vaasanas or negative tendencies and the wick, the ego. When lit by spiritual knowledge, the vaasanas get slowly exhausted and the ego too finally perishes. The flame of a lamp always burns upwards. Similarly we should acquire such knowledge as to take us towards higher ideals.

Whilst lighting the lamp we thus pray:

Deepajyothi parabrahma||
Deepa sarva tamopahaha||
Deepena saadhyate saram||
Sandhyaa deepo namostute||

I prostrate to the dawn/dusk lamp; whose light is the Knowledge Principle (the Supreme Lord), which removes the darkness of ignorance and by which all can be achieved in life.

Science behind placing eggs and milk near snake's nest

In General, Snake takes the place of Ant's nest to stay and develop their family. You can see these ant's nest outside of the towns. In fact, you can see these ant's nest outside villages near shrubs and bushes.

We have to agree that scientifically snake will not drink milk and eat eggs. But there is a scientific reason behind it to place eggs and milk next to the Snakes Nest in India that we should know.

In ancient times, Human's biggest threat was snakes. Due to the dense forests, human presence and developments were very limited. Snake's population was more than human. Because of this, death due to snake bites were more. People afraid of snakes and they started migrating from place to place.

In Hinduism, People don’t kill any living beings. People who follow this religion, always respect all the living beings. So, they have decided to control its re-production rather killing them.

Snake's breeding is very different from other reptiles. A female snake secrete a special odor (Paromon) and it will sniffed by male snakes for mating.

Humans decided to control the reproduction by means of placing eggs and milk combination next to the Snake's nest. After days of time, eggs and milk will start producing different set of odor which will control the odor of female snake's odor. Because of this odor, for the male snake, It’ll be very difficult to find the female snake to mate.

Humans started practicing religiously to continue this practice to generation to generation.

But, at present, Snakes are part of our ecosystem and they play an essential role in pest control. They occupy an integral position in the foodstuff chain as a prey as well as a predator. We have to protect them.

Power of Bioenergy & Biodynamic

Bio-energetics approach lay in three areas:

Grounding:

which concentrates on the stance of the patient with the feet on the ground and energy flowing freely in a circuit which reinforces a positive link with the earth.

Breathing:

Regular breathing patterns are established so that sensory awareness increases and the feeling of being alive is enhanced.

Character Structure:

Bio-energetics recognizes five major character types. Most people manifest aspects of all the five.

Schizoid Character: Represented by holding the body together as a result of fear of its falling to pieces. The social behavior is not in harmony with body awareness

Oral Character: The muscular pattern reveals a fear of abandonment or isolation.

Psychopathic Character. Here a muscular pattern of holding up against fear of failure is revealed.

Masochistic Character. The muscular pattern derives from tension caused by blocking feelings of rights and needs.

Rigid Character This is exemplified by a muscular pattern of holding back against emotions.

Bio dynamics:

Dr. Gerda Boyesen pays special attention to the interplay between the mind and body processes.
Her approach uses massage and bodily movement techniques and works on the premise that a neurotic person embodies his neurosis in physiological processes.

Scientific reason behind Sri Chakram

The conclusions of recent researches on Sri Chakram by Alexei Kulaichev, a senior researcher in the Biology faculty of Moscow State University, using modern exact sciences and electronic computers have evoked the interest of historians, ethnographers and scientists throughout the world.

The scientist was inspired to study its structure comprehensive struck by its austere geometric beauty and regular design. As he proceeded he found its mathematical properties deepening amazingly. Highlighting the mathematical enigma of Sri Chakram (also known as Sri Yantram) another scientist Ivan KovaJchenko, Person in the then U.S.S.R. Academy of Sciences and a prominent Soviet historian, gives the example of the central fragment of the figure—a 14 sided star formed by the intersection of nine large triangles.

He says that the ingenuity of the image is based on the truth that the majority of the straight lines forming it go through three, four and even six points of interception with other lines. To build this type of figure and to analyze it for an algorithm is an incredibly challenging task. It's been accomplished only on some type of computer which has had to do greater than a hundred million operations for the purpose. Besides, each step in image building and analysis involved the perfect solution is of an extensive group of related problems, both computational and programmatic.

Philosophically, Sri Chakram is just a powerful symbol which represents the scheme of evolution of the universe from the Divine Fact. The central dot or bindu represents the supreme Transcendental Truth, Brahman. This dot is then first given a figurative extension as the initial central triangle called Siva triangle with its apex pointing upwards. Siva represents the consciousness aspect of Brahman and Shakti the power aspect. Siva and Shakti are one, as the ocean and its waves are one. When this polarization reaches the extreme through the different phases indicated by the entire of Sri Chakram, the best result may be the manifestation of the gross universe.

Motivational Story : Self-Appraisal

A young adult aged boy went right into a drug store, and requested the owner to allow him to make a phone call. He dialed a number and was waiting for response.

The store-owner observed and paid attention to the conversation:

Boy: Lady, Could you give me the work of cutting your lawn?

Woman: (at one other end of the telephone line): I already have someone to cut my lawn.

Boy: Lady, I'll cut your lawn for half the price of the one who cuts your lawn now.

Woman: I'm very content with the person who is presently cutting my lawn.

Boy: (with more perseverance): Lady, I'll even sweep your curb and your sidewalk, so on Sunday you can have the prettiest lawn.

Woman: No, thank you. With a smile on his face, the young boy replaced the receiver.

The store-owner, who was listening to all or any this, started a dialogue with the boy. My dear boy, I prefer your attitude; I like that positive spirit and would like to give you a job.

Boy: No thanks.

Store Owner. But you were really pleading for work within the phone.

Boy: No Sir, I was just checking my performance at the task I already have. I am the one who is working for that lady I was conversing with!

Moral: This is what we call "Self-Appraisal." When we don't get before others, we blame others for this We should look to your self, find our personal weaknesses and work hard to remove them. Always work hard, honestly and with full dedication. It always pays.
